Jake was amazed. Granted, the technology was from about seventy years back but it was still amazing.
"How much did you say you paid for this?" he said in a slightly choked voice.
He knew if it was too much he couldn't accept it... no matter how much he wanted to.

The only bad thing about all this was she wasn't too sure if she was running late or not.
Hopefully she was NOT running late!
Upon arriving at Florean's, she click-clacked her way to the celebration room, not even taking the time to make sure her hair wasn't messed up! By the amount of people in the room, she assumed she wasn't running late which was G O O D! She took a few minutes to catch her breath before scanning to room to get a good look at the people that were there, and then her eyes landed on Jake who was talking to...
Right then and there, she made her way over to her brother.
She made her presence known to the both of them in the most common way possible,
"Hey!" It had been such a long time since she talked to Professor Lawson! Or did she have to call him Mr. Lawson now?
"Hey Reese," Jake grinned over at his... old sister? Ex sister? Half sister? What the heck was she now anyway.
Sister.
That was simple.
"You know my dad, of course," he smiled.
Jake had not smiled this much in one day since he found out he was being adopted.

Hugs!
Merlin he was tall! Marcus returned his son's hug and gave him a manly slap on the back. "Happy Birthday kiddo." Yep he would probably be calling him that for a few years yet.
"So how does it feel it be an adult now?"
Kiddo.
Major brownie points for Lawson for saying that.
As Jake drew out of the hug and tucked his book under his arm, he shrugged.
"I'm not an adult," the young
man lad said and gave a toothy grin.
Not an adult. Never EVER would be.
"Dude, what'd'ya get me?"
Hugs first, then presents.
