Of Craziness and White-Blond Hair
{Prologue}
The family of three and an extra fourth person stood at the end of the hill at a Golf Club, the brunette daughter holding tightly onto her mother's hand and humming tunelessly. Then a shape formed on the horizon. The girl froze and frowned. “Mommy?” She tugged on her mother's sleeve.
“One second love.” Dani said, frustrated. “I'm talking to the man about Bonnie going missing.” Vanessa's eyes went wide as the shape got closer and closer. “Mommy...” Dani turned on her daughter. “Vanessa! Give Mommy a moment.” Vanessa chewed her lower lip and stared at the shape forever coming closer to the four.
Quiet screams echoed from the shape and Vanessa froze. “Oh my God.” her murmur was shocked and panicked and she tugged very hard on her mother's sleeve. “Mommy,” the eight-year-old insisted, horrified.
Dani turned around flames dancing in her eyes and sighed. “Honey, we
need to tell the man where we last saw Bonnie.
Please give Mommy a moment.” Vanessa narrowed her eyes and glared at her mother's back.
“Mommy, I think the person in that golf cart is...”
Then the child's father bellowed, “BONNIE!” A white-blond haired five-year-old was screaming and trying desperately to get control of a golfing cart steering weal. Dani's breath hitched and she broke into a sprint, her brown hair curling as it caught the wind.
“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGHHHHH!”
“HIT. THE. BREAK!”
“WHICH ONE'S THE BREAK?!”
The golf cart was speeding towards a wire gate. The two adults couldn't pull out their wands – they were in the presence of a muggle. Oh why did Eric want to go golfing in the first place? And Dani panicked. “AGGHHHH.” Was Bonnie's only word. Not that anyone blamed her. And then,
CRASH!
The golfing cart slammed into the gate and stopped. Bonnie's white-blond hair fell forward and covered her face. Dani sprinted towards her and pulled Bonnie out and carried her.
“Bonnie?”
…
“Bonnie? Are you okay?”
Bonnie pushed away her hair and smiled wearily. “Fine Mommy.” Eric burst out laughing.

That night Bonnie was curled up beside Vanessa. She had wanted to stay with her and so the two were sleeping under a heavy quilt. Well one was sleeping the other was panicking and clutching her little blond sister. “
Bonnie, someone's walking around.”
Bonnie blinked and yawned. “What?” Vanessa's eyes went wide and she clamped a hand over Bonnie's mouth. “SHHH!” A man walked into the room.
“Oh phew! It's just daddy!” Bonnie sighed and smiled at Vanessa. “Nothing to worry about Vanilla!” But Vanessa frowned. Bonnie giggled and kicked away the duvet and ran towards her father.
“Shhh!” Eric hissed and carried her back to the bed. “Listen, girls, daddy's going on a...a trip. And-And I might not be back in a while.” Vanessa blinked and frowned and then grinned. “Will you bring us back presents?” Eric looked uncomfortable. “Uhm, sure. Listen, girls, I want you to know that I love ye both to bits. I'm going on a trip and I won't be back for a long time. Just, give my love to your Mommy.” “You're not saying goodbye to her?” “No, my Vanilla. I don't want to upset her.” “Okay,” “Now, go to sleep.”
Vanessa was too tired to figure out the maths. Eric left the room and sighed. Bonnie jumped out of bed and followed him silently. Or what she thought was silently. Eric sighed. “Bonnie, you should be in bed.” He turned around and looked at the small little white-blond girl with wide brown eyes in her old fashioned nightie dragging along her worn teddy.
“Daddy, when will you be back?”
Eric took one of Bonnie's hands. “I don't know pumpkin.” Bonnie nodded knowing this already. She was a lot smarter than she seemed. “I'll come back one day. For you and Vanessa.” She reached up and kissed his cheek and said nothing. He turned away and walked down the stairs.
“Don't come back. Vanessa doesn't deserve someone who leaves her.”
The whisper was scared and babyish and no one could her it. And so, Bonnie Campbell who who in ten years become known as 'Crazed!Girl' turned and hurried into her older sisters room.
