And Now We Wait
(Avery's Point of View)
They were really leaving. I couldn't help but feel scared and worried. I went to my best friend first. I hugged her. "Be safe Val." I whispered.
"I'll be fine Avery." But dispite her brave words she hugged me closer. "Don't let Mrs. Weasley worry too much." She smiled and she turned back to Charlie.
The eldest Weasley looked at me and whispered, "Keep her busy. And don't let her worry." I nodded and moved on to everyone else. I said my good lucks to everyone...Well mostly.
I stopped in front of Fred and grinned. "Be safe." I hugged him and turned to face his twin.
"Come back in one piece." I said hugging him, tightly.
"Is that all you can say? 'Come back in one piece'?" He smiled when I nodded. "I promise." George bent down and kissed me softly.
"Good luck." I whispered before kissing him again, then walking back to Mrs. Weasley. They left and I walked inside the house.
Mrs. Weasley began pacing, holding the clock. I sighed. "Mrs.Weasley? I'm sure they are fine." She didn't seem to notice.
I gave up and went to sit with Ginny. We talked. Portkeys arrived, but without people. Finally Harry and Hagrid where there. I ran to Harry and wrapped my arms around him. "Thank God you're back!"
He looked confused. Ginny walked up from behind me. Harry looked at her and smiled. Not wanting to listen to Ginny explain things to Harry I walked outside to wait.
Another portkey came and I saw George and Remus. I ran to hug George but stopped when I saw he was holding his bloody ear. I was frozen with shock. Remus carried George inside the house. I followed stiffly.
"You promised." I whispered as his mother took care of his ear. He looked at me with a smile. "How can you be smiling?!" But I didn't get my answer 'cause Hermione and Kingsley had arrived.
Soon everyone was here and we were all saddened about losing Madeye. While the others talked I stayed by George's side, holding his hand.
