UGH. SORRY about the delay!!! *pokes brain* :( YesJess! | Captain Goggles | Mama Badger | Eva's Soul Sister | An OG™ | It's all in the Numbers Looking back and forth between the two apparent relatives, Millie felt awkwardly out-of-place. But at the same time, she really shouldn't have because that was generally the summation of her existence: bringing awkwardness to life since 2051! Not to mention the blond boy had been giving her these superior looks since he saw her... Why did she need an assistant this year? Well wasn't it obvious? Because HE didn't want to help his 'big sister' around the store. Brat. YUP! That's what he was ... a teenage brat who was probably afraid he'd mess up his perfectly gelled hair or whatever it was teenage boys did to their hair these days.
BUT OH NO!!! He did NOT just assume her name to be Mildred, did he? EW! "It's actually Millicent, but please, call me Millie." Curse her mother for giving her such an old-fashioned name. And just because he was being a brat, didn't mean she couldn't feign politeness. Thus: cue soft smile.
Well at least one member of the family was sweet; either that or it was just the male chromosome kicking its part up again in Legend ... You know, like ever other male on planet Earth. Deep breath though, yes, she could to do that. She nodded slowly and took a seat in the spot indicated. "Don't react to chaos... just smile and nod...just make them happy, yup. Thank you." More deep breaths. And sip of water. Hyper and loud? Oh no! Why did she take this job? Oh right, because she needed the money. "I don't know anything about joke items though..." Millie whispered nervously and bit her lip, looking up angelically at Artie. Because unfortunately for her, she'd usually been the one who had pranks PLAYED on her! She was the goody two-shoes, the quiet one, the one who got top marks. The one who sat in the corner reading while her housemates celebrated a quidditch win. The one who went to the library while a quidditch match was happening. Millicent Walsh didn't do crowds. She didn't do pranks. But one thing she did do was brilliance.
And that right there was the key to Millie's confidence. "I can do unexpected though," she nodded, taking another sip from her glass of water. Because unexpected was what she'd dealt with for seven years at Hogwarts.
