Draco had come across quite an interesting spell. He had thought he'd try it out and the results had been excellent. He could get almost any conjured object to attack an opponent or, if he couldn't find one to practice upon, an innocent bystander.

Oppugno cats.

The furious cats flewwww at Blaise [incidentally, reaaaally unhappy to be in a situation like this] and the dark boy - far more ruthless, if he had to be, than Draco - used a slashing curse to get rid of them all at once. Draco, still not used to how cruel Blaise could be, not even after all the years they'd been companions and friends and each other's secret-keepers, momentarily lost his focus on the duel. Blaise took advantage of this, and sent a slashing curse at him.

"Blaise, you idiot!" Draco barely managed to block the jet of light. "Be serious, it's me."

Blaise regarded him coldly. "I am being serious."

Draco frowned. "We're not meant to kill each other."

"No," Blaise agreed. "But neither of us is going to get stronger if we duel as friends."

Draco considered this.

"You're right. Let's aim to hurt."
