OOC: I know I said that the Champions had to be 7th years, but...I'm cheatin'.
Ya, go for it!

Narrator: The chatter in the hall died down as the clinking of a fork against a glass could be heard. Heads turned towards the staff table, where Dumbledore was now standing.

"Good evening students," he began with a smile, his eyes twinkling. "And a Happy Halloween! I hope you have all enjoyed our excellent feast. But now I am rambling...I'm sure you are far too excited to indulgue me for long.

Tonight, we draw the names of our three Triwizard Champions. Each champion will be a representative of their school, and will compete in three very difficult, very dangerous tasks. The winner of this tournament will win not only 1000 galleons, but eternal glory."

Dumbledore stopped and smiled at his students, then continued. "We have with us Mr. Draco Malfoy, the Head of Magical Games & Sports." Dumbledore waved his hand towards the staff table. "He will be a judge during our tournament, along with three others. I hope you will all help in giving him, and his wife, a warm welcome."

He waited a moment to allow the (scattered) applause to stop, then continued his speech. "But enough of pleasantries. On to the drawing of the names!" With a wave of his wand, the fire in the goblet shot several feet in the air, and turned a brilliant red.

Dumbledore drew near and reached towards the flame. A piece of paper shot out and he grabbed it. Unfolding it, he said, "The Durmstrang champion is...Adolfus Dagard!"

There was a roar of approval from the Durmstrang students, and happy applause from the rest. Everyone quieted as they saw the flame in the goblet go red again.

Dumbledore reached for another piece of paper, and read it. "The Beauxbatons champion is...Cecile Desmarais!"

Once again, there was an explosion of applause from the students.

Dumbledore reached once more, and now there was a hush over all the students. This was the moment Hogwarts had been waiting for.

"The Hogwarts Champion is...Lucy Weasley!"

The Hall exploded in excitement, applause, mone louder than that of the Slytherins. Dumbledore smiled and put his hands together.

"Yes, well done all! I wish you all much luck in the trials that are to come. But now, dessert will be ser---"

The Headmaster fell silent, as did the rest of the hall, as everyone looked at the Goblet of Fire. The flames had turned red a fourth time. Dumbledore didn't do anything for a moment, but only stared. Then, as a piece of paper shot out of it, he reached and took it.

Reading at the paper, he murmered something that others couldn't hear. Then, turning towards the students, he said, "Albus Potter?" It was almost more of a question than a statement. There was no response in the dead silence of the hall.

"Albus Potter!"
