Reaching deep into his jeans pocket, Jake found his muggle wallet and opened it up to place it on the counter. On each side he had a card for ID. On the left was his muggle provisional drivers' license (which he'd JUST got that very day) and on the other was a specialised ID card from a Duelling event, where he'd had to put forward his date of birth, and now he had this uber cool Dark looking ID card for wizards. Impossible to fake.
"I turned 17 today, in fact," he pointed out, drawing the lady's attention to the date even further. He smiled widely at the broom she was wrapping up, and then looked around.
"Could I grab a broomstick servicing kit as well, please?" Jake added, jerking a thumb over his shoulder to imply he'd forgotten to grab one on the way.
