Oh my! I've always wanted a big family. I used to want to be like Cheaper by the dozen with 12 kids or 7th Heaven with 7 kids Is the middle unpleasant? Trust me when I tell you being the youngest is worse!

Belive me when I tell you that the oldest is the worst!! I have two younger sisters and it is torture. Being blamed for everything is no cupcake!!!
I'm 15, Emily is 13 and Mara is 11. They are both taller than me and their feet are bigger, so unfair

As May arrived, Emily kept getting larger and larger and crankier and crankier. She wanted the twins to hurry up and get here so she could get back to wearing her cute little dresses and skinny pants. She spent most of her time at Andromeda’s house with Tonks and the new baby. Teddy was quite the handful but also so full of life. George and Fred ran the joke shop by Owl-Order service out of one of Muriel’s back rooms.

It was a Saturday, and the sun shone brightly through the kitchen window. Remus made his way down the stairs to find Emily putting her dishes from her breakfast in the sink.

“’Morning,” Remus said.

“Good morning,” Emily said quietly.

“Everything okay?” he asked.

“Yeah, the twins are just kicking a lot this morning… They must have just woken up is all,” Emily mumbled, her hand going to her large bump. She let out an involuntary gasp as the kick resounded again. Remus looked at her with a worried expression, but she shrugged it off with a small smile. “Be lucky you’re a guy,” she whispered with the hint of a chuckle.

“Oh, yeah, extremely grateful… Where’s George?”

“He went over to Muriel’s this morning after breakfast. He said he’ll be back by dinner at the latest,” Emily answered as she rinsed out her cup. Remus nodded.

“I’ve got to head out… I’ll see you later, we’ve got to get Potterwatch going again,” he said with a smile. He kissed her cheek and headed for the door. She heard it shut behind him and a tear fell from her eye.

“Why can’t you two get along?” she whispered as she look down at her stomach. “No fighting,” Emily said firmly as another kick hit her right below her belly button. She sighed and made her way outside, into the backyard. She went there when she needed to think. She carefully climbed the tree, which took her much longer than it used to. After a lot of grunting and sweating, she finally sat in the crevice of all the branches and looked around at the blossoms on the tree. They hadn’t quite bloomed yet, but they were on their way to. She looked out at the dark forest as more tears made their way down her cheeks.

“Hey, I saw you come out here… Can I join you?” Tonks asked softly as she came into view. Emily nodded and Tonks started climbing the tree, her bubblegum pink hair swaying in the breeze. She smiled lightly as she put her arm around Emily’s shoulder.

“Everything will be okay,” Tonks whispered.

“Ever since that dance, I just…” Emily let her sentence trail off. “I’m scared of losing him,” she whispered.

“I know, me too,” Tonks confided. “But he’ll always be with you in your heart, Ems,” she said.

“Don’t start with this again,” Emily groaned quietly.

“It’s the truth, and the sooner you accept it, the better,” Tonks said firmly.

“And if I can’t accept it?” Emily asked stubbornly.

“Emily, you’re like this flower,” she said, indicating to one of the buds that hadn’t started blooming yet. Emily stared at it. “It’s a little slower than the others, but one day, it will catch on; it will bloom too. One day, you’ll understand too. And when you do get it, bring me this flower. I promise you it will be the prettiest of the bunch.” Tonks kissed Emily’s cheek and left her sitting there in her tree, staring at the flower that symbolized herself.

I agree with KatielovesHp. Being the oldest is the worst! I have one younger sister and she is a royal pain. I'm 13, and she's 8. Gahh, the number of times I have almost strangled her...

Hello Emily. That Tonks is a sweetie isn't she. I loved your post Emily. I can't go into anything, because supper is on the verge of burning. I love the example Tonks gave with the blossem in the tree. Beautiful writing, and I can't wait for your next. I do hope Emily doesn't climb anymore trees till after the babies are born. They could be delivered in the tree if not. Oops supper!

Great post Emily I read it to Lauren and she loves it too and can't wait for the twins to come...she says she's really sorry she can't reply herself, the nurse isn't letting her leave the hospital and her hands are shaking to much for her to be able to type anyways
