Large quantities of food are spread before you. Whether breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the Hogwarts' house elves are the best in the world. The food is superb and the company is as well.
"Yes, I'm Presley. I'm a first year this year. Well, if you need any help with anything, I know this place like the back of my hand. Nice meeting you, Alfie." Finishing her water, Pres was done with breakfast. She like Alfie, she seemed like a sweet girl, and Pres always had gotten along better with older children. Who knew, perhaps she and Alfie would become friends in time.
Alfie gave a nod of her head as the girl at her side confirmed that her name was Presley before revealing that she was a first year. Her blonde eyebrows rose lightly at this information, surprised at her level of confidence for just being a first year. Alfie was a good three years older, and didn't have half of the spunk as this girl. Maybe it was a contrast of personalities as well, Alfie was never one to be all that outgoing, but it was still impressive. Her smile widened just slightly as Presley offered her help should she ever need it, as she knew the castle like the back of her hand. Once more, very impressive. "I might take you up on that at some point," Alfie agreed with a small nod, giving the younger girl a smile before filling up her goblet with a bit more water.
Boredom = Food. That was why Dallin decided to come to the Great Hall. That and the fact that his stomach was growling, so he actually was hungry. He sat down at the Ravvie table, not noticing who he was sitting by or who else was at the table. All he noticed was the food in front of him. After debating for a second whether to eat an actual meal or just eat junk food he grabbed a already-made sandwich from a big plate in the middle of the table and put it on his own. Then he poured himself some water and got to eating. YAY for yummy food.

Alfie gave a bit of a jump as someone sat down just a foot or so away from her on her other side, quickly focusing in on the guy now biting into a sandwich. Hardly realizing how shamelessly observant she was being, it took a couple moments of staring curiously for her to take notice of how long she'd been looking. She normally would've just looked away and continued talking to the two girls next to her, but she recognized him from a couple of her classes. "Hey..." Alfie started with slightly furrowed brows, "Don't we have a couple classes together?"

Dal's chewing slowed when he felt eyes on him. He ate another bite before looking up to see a girl looking at him from across the table. He set his sandwich down right as she said something, and swallowed. "Probably," he answered with a nod. He had classes with a lot of people, and it always seemed to be them that recognized him. He needed to be more observant or something.
He glanced at the girls next to her, wondering if he should let her get back to them. But wait - she started the conversation. So Dal kept talking. "We've never met though, have we?" Hopefully not, because if so this would be extremely embarrassing. "I'm Dallin." And I would shake your hand, but that'd be awkward with a table between us.

Alfie watched interestedly as the boy across the table agreed that they might've had some classes together, completely understanding that he didn't recognize her. First off, she'd never really been one to draw attention to herself in general, and secondly, this was the beginning of her first year here despite being a fourth year. She wasn't exactly making friends left and right. Well...except from right now, actually, which was actually kind of nice. Alfie didn't really mind keeping to herself though, on a regular basis, so she wasn't surprised or offended by his lack of memory of her. "No, we haven't met," the girl immediately responded with a vague smile, slightly amused as she could practically see him internally hope that they hadn't. She understood how this comment could've gone very wrong, it had actually happened to her a few times.
As he introduced himself as Dallin, Alfie gave a brief nod of understanding, "I'm Alfiana," she explained after another sip of water. "Or...Alfie, rather. I much prefer Alfie."
Alfie turned her attention back to Sophia as she began to explain when she realized she needed to take a year back, nodding her blonde head understandingly. She could understand being overwhelmed with coursework, and as Sophia took full responsibility, she suddenly had a new found respect for this girl she had just met. It was then that she mentioned having Astronomy for a class, "Hey, I have that too!" Alfie responded, blue eyes widening just slightly with a large smile. She quickly realized how excited she sounded and looked away with a weak smile, "Sorry, I just haven't had any friends in any of my classes yet. Or...really, any friends in general." She cleared her throat slightly, realizing how pathetic that sounded, and returned her gaze to the girl before her. "Anyway, have you met...Presley, was it?" she asked with a small smile, turning back to the younger girl at her side.
Sophia laughed slightly when Alfie got excited.
"No no, you're fine," she said. "I sat by myself for the first lesson. I didn't really know anybody there, so you're fine." AWWWW. She didn't have any friends?!?!?!!!! Sophia would have to change that. "Well you're fine now, I'm your friend. There's a start. You're too pretty to not have any friends. We'll change that."
Every pretty girl needed friends. And every single girl was pretty. So everybody needed friends!!! Duh. And it was always a fun job making them, so Sophia would be MORE than happy to help.
"Hi Presley," she said. "I'm pretty sure I've seen you around... I'm Sophia."
She watched Presley and her talk for a few minutes, and went back to munching on her food for a little bit.

As she let Alfie and Presley talk, she noticed someone else come into the Great Hall. It was a Ravvie boy. SQUEEEE. He looked really nice, and cute.
Cute boys. YAAAAAAY.
It got even better as he just so happened to sit down next to her. Was that intentional? Nah, he just happened to do so. She looked back at Alfie and watched her watch him for a moment, then paused and looked between them as they talked. So his name was Dallin? That was another interesting name. EVERYONE had an interesting name here lately.
"You're really into that sandwich, aren't you?" Sophia said, laughing slightly. She pushed her hair behind her ear so she could look at everyone that was around her now. "I'm Sophia." Cue a sweet smile.

Presley smiled at Sophia. "Yes, I think I've seen you around too. It's nice to meet you." She stood up from the table and gathered her books. She had tons to do today. "See you guys around." She waved to Alfie and Sophia as Sophia started talking to some boy, and exited the Great Hall.

Cute boys made her happy. Yes.
Alfie gave a bit of a grimace as she sensed the sympathy behind Sophia's tone, knowing immediately that she had chosen the wrong choice of words. "No friends", though pretty true, sounded pretty harsh. Before she could assure the girl that she was fine being mostly on her own, Sophia was explaining that she now had a friend with her and she was far too pretty not to have friends. Alfie's jaw dropped just slightly at this explanation and she let out a soft laugh, honestly amused. "Well, alright then."
It was then that Sophia began to look at Dallin, with a kind of gaze Alfie was very good at detecting. Oh no, she thought he was cute! Not that that was a bad thing, or a lie, as Dallin was fairly cute, but...Alfie was pretty sure he had a girlfriend. Luckily for her, she wasn't really into him in the first place, he wasn't very much her type, but Sophia seemed to be liking what she saw and she hoped the girl wasn't getting her hopes up.
"Sophia...do you have a boyfriend?" Alfie asked curiously, both deflecting the girl's attention over to her and feeding her own curiosity.

Sophia shook her head.
"Nah," she said. "I'm just a flirt. And annoying, at some times. I'm not too worried about things like that right now."
AHA. Alfie was perceptive. All Sophia did was smiiiile though. She hadn't begun to do anything else, but Alfie knew what she was on to. Dallin LOOKED cute, but was his personality good? Hmm. She'd just have to wait and find out.
Oh no - if he had a girlfriend? She would stop now, yes. Just be nice, no need for eye gouging or hexing in case of a possible jealous GF might come up.
"What about you having a boyfriend?" she asked Alfie. "I'm sure Mr. Dallin here has cute single friends. Or that you fancy someone in one of your classes." Come onnn, there are always cute boys around Hogwarts. Sophia knew that there was one that Alfie had SOME interest in.

Alfie gave an understanding nod as Sophia explained that she didn't have a boyfriend, that she was just a flirt. But as she mentioned she could be annoying, the girl quickly shook her head with an amused smile, hoping that her question hadn't made the girl insecure about her actions. "You're not annoying," she assured her with a soft smile. She'd never met someone she could observe so well, and understand the motives of that quickly... Well, at least when boys were around, she could understand Sophia's motives, and that was amusing. "I don't see anything wrong with a little healthy flirting..."
It was then, as she was taking another sip of water, that Sophia asked if there was a boy in her life. She was about to respond when the girl also mentioned that Dallin probably had some cute single friends, and that odds were she had fancied some of the Hogwarts boys since her arrival. Alfie gave a soft laugh at this and gave a sly smile, "No current boyfriend, I had one at my old school for a little while, we broke up a few months before I came here, over the summer," she explained, her smile never fading. Obviously the break up hadn't been very heartbreaking. "And as for the boys you have around here..." she muttered, glancing around the large hall for a moment, her smile growing just slightly, "I can't deny that they have a certain...attraction about some of them." She let out a soft laugh at her wording, shaking her head at the conversation they'd gotten into.
Alfie watched interestedly as the boy across the table agreed that they might've had some classes together, completely understanding that he didn't recognize her. "Oh, good," Dallin said, feeling sort of relieved when the girl said they'd never met. He would feel bad if he had forgotten about her. "Well, it's nice to meet you Alfie," he said with a smile after she introduced herself. Alfiana? That was an... unusual name. But hey - most people thought his name was unusual too. So to each their own, really.
OHAI girl sitting next to me.
Dallin scooted over a bit, away from the girl, when he realized he was sitting by someone. Not too much, just enough so that he could look at her without looking funny. At the comment about his sandwhich, Dal shamelessly nodded. "It's very good." Therefore he should enjoy it. Simple. "Dallin," he said in reply to her introducing herself, even though she'd been there for his introduction to Alfie.
He blinked, looking between the girls as the topic of boyfriends and flirting suddenly sprang up. How random. Unless the girls had been talking about that before he'd shown up, in which case Dal would go right back to his yummeh sandwich and let them talk about boyfriends in peace.
That was until Sophia brought him up. He looked back at her, wondering if he was supposed to answer that. Cute single friends? Well, yes he did, but they were girls. He thought for a moment; did he even have guy friends, let alone single guy friends?
...And at that point in his thought process he looked back at his plate and took a drink of water.

She stopped and went back to eating for a moment while Alfie talked. She was a new student? That makes sense as to why she didn't have many friends yet. Even though it was getting late in the school year, it was never too late to have people who cared about you.
A smile crept across her face as Alfie's expression never faltered when talking about her past boyfriend. Nothing too serious.
"What school did you go to?" she asked curiously.

Sophia frowned slightly as he scooted away from her. "I didn't think I smelled that bad. I showered," she said jokingly.
He wasn't much of a talker. That was LAME. But then again, he was a boy and there was food in front of him. Knowing about her older brother and how he was with food, this didn't surprise her really. Boys and food were just... inseperable at times. They just shouldn't be so gross somethings.
When he didn't answer her, Sophia nudged him with her elbow.
"Mr. Anti-social," she said. "When you can take a break from scarfing down your food, you should probably talk to us. Classes, quidditch, brooms, whatever. Don't just sit there."
Bossy? Perhaps. But she was trying to get him involved.
Dallin's eyes widened and he shook his head. "No! Not at all," He hadn't meant to seem rude when he moved away from her. "I just didn't notice how - uh - close I was to you when I sat down. It's more comfortable to talk this way too." Facepalm. He had a real nice knack at acting like an idiot in front of people he hardly knew. It was one of his many talents.
He laughed, kind of surprised when Sophia nudged him. It looked like he was going to be included in the conversation no matter what. Thankfully they were done with the boyfriend talk, but classes, quidditch, and brooms were not things that Dal could really have a conversation about. Maybe Quidditch, for a little. But no.
"What year are you in?" It would be nice to know the basics, right?
"Hi Presley!" Rachel said at the sight off her friend, she saw that Presley was talking to people so said hi to them, she then sat down and started to eat.
Alfie gave a small wave to the young girl that said hello to Presley and sat down near them, a soft smile on her expression before she turned back to the other two.

When Sophia asked what school Alfie had gone to before, she stopped sipping on her water with a small smile, "I went to this small magic school, it's a little lesser known. And much smaller than this place." She glanced up at the great hall around her, obviously still in awe of the majesty of the entire place. Wow. Alfie's eyebrows rose as she listened to Sophia nearly commanded Dallin to talk to them whenever he "could take a break from scarfing down his food". The girl let out a soft, chiming chuckle, but also felt a little sympathy for the boy who obviously wasn't expecting Sophia's straight-forward attitude. It just amused Alfie.

"I'm a fourth year," she explained with a small smile, picking up a nearby pear and tossing it absentmindedly between her two hands, her elbows resting on the table on either side of her plate. "And you?"

Ahh, the typical year question. HERE WE GO AGAIN.
"I'm a third year," she said. "I should be a fourth. I had problems learning and so on. Entirely my fault though, so now I just have to work twice as hard." Sophia nodded as she was talking. Hey, at least she could admit to her mistakes.
"What about you? Year?"

"So was it around here, or in a different country?" she asked. "Cause there's a kid here from America. Tex--something, or whatever. One of the southern states, I don't remember which."
She didn't THINK Alfie had an accent, but it didn't mean that Sophia just hadn't picked up on it yet.
Sometimes she just wasn't that observant. Whooooopsies.
"Nah, you don't have to stop," Dallin mumbled to Sophia. Merlin, today was just not his day, was it? That was okay, though. He could handle awkwardness as long as he was the one causing it.
He nodded to Alfie when she told him her year. "I'm a fi-" but then Sophia was talking. A small smirk tugged at his lips when the girl gave a whole explanation as to what year she was in. He nodded, and for some reason he felt like since she explained her situation, he should explain his too.
"I'm a fifth year," he said, looking from one girl to the other as he spoke, "But I should be a sixth because I repeated fourth year." It was then that he realized that he never told anyone that. Hmm. It wasn't a secret or anything it just... must have not come up before.
Alfie listened as Sophia asked if her old school had been in a different country or continent and she shook her head with an amused smile. "No, nothing exciting like that. It was just a magic school around here. It was that or Hogwarts and my parents wanted me to start off with a small group of students before I came...here," the girl explained with a small smile, taking another drink of water before directing her attention to the conversation at hand about years. She listened as Sophia explained her year situation to Dallin as she had to her minutes before, giving her a small smile before turning to Dallin for his own explanation.
Fifth year, huh. Alfie had turned back to her toast after these words, assuming that would be it, until Dallin continued to explain that he should've been in sixth but he repeated his forth year. Her blonde eyebrows rose, not in a judgemental way, but in compliment to the smile that was growing on her expression. "So you two are extremely similar!" she announced with a soft laugh, "Look at all of the things we're learning this morning."
Serena found a seat at the table and gazed longingly at the food in front of her. If only she hadn't eaten that slightly weird smelling every flavour bean. She wouldn't be feeling so ill and she could eat a bit more. She looked around for her friend she had followed to the great hall.

Where had William disappeared to? He had been walking with her to the great hall after their baseball lesson, but he wasn't there. Where had he gone? She could have sworn he was right next to her a moment ago...Well, he would probably be here soon. Maybe he had gone to the loo or something. She sat down at the table and surveyed the spread of food in front of her, and waited.

" I am here now" Willaim told presley. " I had to stop up for a couple of minutes" Willaim apologized to Presley. "So what are we both going to have today?' William asked Presley.

Uh oh. This was the worst situation! How could she have trapped herself in this mess? "I'm actually on a diet," she explained sheepishly to William. "So maybe I'll have some celery. But you can have whatever." Presley was underweight, but severely in denial of it. She knew that she was strong enough to get thinner. It was just when people asked questions that it was hard.

" You are too cute to be on a diet" Willaim told Presley. " Well, I willl try not to eat too much in front of you" William said to Presley. You do not have to listen to me, but if you at least want to play football, you will need a little more weight, basseball or Quidditch, you can go either way" Willaim explained to Presley.

Presley smiled at William. "Don't worry about it. Eat as much as you want, really it doesn't bother me." He was a sweet kid, trying to keep her from feeling weird. "William?" Presley asked out of the blue. "Do you have any siblings?"
Fee made her way to the Ravenclaw table, obviously looking for her boyfriend. It was actually pretty weird that she only knew two Ravenclaws.Ellie and Hugo.Maybe the blonde should go and talk to them more, they were really cool people. Except for that rude girl at Astronomy, she was such a stuck up person. But oh well.Looking around the Slytherin unfortunately couldnt spot her boyfriend anywhere. The girl would just sit ndown and wait for him to get hungry, yep. Not that she missed him or something. Not that she missed him all the time.Taking a free seat she poored herself a blass of pmpkin juice and nipped on it.
