Default Lesson 1 - Muggle English Literature - John Webster

The Muggle Studies classroom looks very similar to Shwmae's Office for the entire room is covered in scarlet. Scarlet curtains hang from the windows, scarlet rugs cover the stone floor, even the walls have scarlet tapestries hanging on them.

Rhiane is sat at the front of the class, behind her is a blackboard on which is written:

Lesson 1 - Muggle English Literature - John Webster

Several desks are lined in three rows with little scarlet cushions on the chairs. She smiles sweetly as you enter and waits for you all to take your seats.

"How about smallpox, syphilis, typhoid, and scurvy? People weren't exactly very good at taking care of themselves back then.... And I think people lived to be about 45, on average, if they lived in more populated and crowded areas where sanitation was, uh, lacking."

"Correct!" she chirped, pleased she'd finally got there. "3 points to Slytherin.

What does the imagery of disease convey in Webster's plays? What is it symbolic for?"

The relationship between king and Parliament steadily eroded. Extravagant spending (particularly on James' favorites), inflation and bungled foreign policies discredited James in the eyes of Parliament. Parliament flatly refused to disburse funds to a king who ignored their concerns and were annoyed by rewards lavished on favorites and great amounts spent on decoration. James awarded over 200 peerages (landed titles) as, essentially, bribes designed to win loyalty, the most controversial of which was his creation of George Villiers (his closest advisor and companion) as Duke of Buckingham. Buckingham was highly influential in foreign policy, which failed miserably.

Making her way back to the front of the classroom, she began collecting up the papers used in class and addressed the pupils, "Well, I think that's about it. Check the homework board on your way out. Class is dismissed."

Raven packed her bags quickly and left the classroom. She needed to make a quickstop before her common room.

Nadia took her things, not failing to notice that Dru knew the last unaswered question by the way she had been holding her hand. Smiling at her, Nadia trying to convey that she shouldn't matter it. Then half-bowed to the professor as she made her way out saying, "Have a good day, profesor." Finally exited the classroom.

Dru smiled back at Nadia and stuffed her belongings back into her bag and followed Nadia out of the lesson.

Lee let off a big sigh as he walked into the empty classroom. He was sick of this chore work, why couldnt he just calm down? he thought frustratedly into himself. As he walked to his seat Shwmae's bird Borris had flown to his own perch at the front. Lee looked at the seat and covered his nose "pee you! thanks for that Borris" Lee moaned at teh bird "stupid bird" Lee muttered to himself. Lee took out his wand and did the correct wand movements and said teh right incantation and his seat was once again clean.

Lee continued this process on Amy's chair and stood up wiping his robes when he was finished "okay Borris!" Lee said harshly "lets go get you cleaned up" he moaned. He left the room locking it like it was once before.
