Professor Rae pushed open the door to the classroom and surveyed it. The desks were shiny and sitting in straight, perfect rows. The windows were open from her visit earlier that day, and the sunlight streamed in and lit the room cheerily. The blackboard was clean and just waiting for chalked words of wisdom. She sighed with contentment and moved behind her desk, ready to begin the first DADA class of the term. | |

Emil wrote down everything that was discussed. Afterwards, he placed all of his writing materials inside his bag. As he stood up, he was a little apprehensive of who to ask to be his partner. He's not really the shy type, but he didn't want to make a fool of himself if he made a mistake. He then decided to sit back down and practiced the wand motion of the spells that the professor asked them to practice.

"All right," Amy answered, stepping back a few feet. "Try to cast Protego as soon as I cast Expelliarmus," Amy aimlessly shifted to the side while talking. All of a sudden, she spun around, wand quickdrawn. "Expelliarmus!" She cast. Erica's wand flew out of her hand. "Sorry," Amy picked it up. "I guess that was a bit too crafty for practice," she admitted sheepishly. Amy stepped back a few feet again. "Either block the spell or dodge it," she reminded her Housemate. "Expelliarmus!"

Nadia stood from her seat and got it moved aside. She stood there, not exactly looking for a partner but for somebody who missed a partner. However, the people around her were organizing quite well and in the arranging she pretty much was left without a partner. She stood there and watched, to find somebody, again, but she wasn't really trying that hard as people passed by her. Maybe she should go stalk Jaren, a voice in her head said and she almost could feel that same voice smile humored. She chuckled.
Finally she started moving, looking for a partner herself...

Like another in the class, Anelreas did not get up to find a partner. She was not particular 'blessed' in casting spells. She somehow managed to make simple spells hard and sometimes vice versa.
She watched the others in the class and as her gaze traveled through the room, she spotted Nadia. She thought of asking to her to be her partner, but realized another talking to her, so she quieted her question. She would have preferred to duel with someone she knew instead of a stranger.

Francis nods and exclaims, "Protego!" as she sees the Expelliarmus spell coming towards her. Closing her eyes briefly, she notices she didn't feel the Expelliarmus spell hit her this time. Then, in a satisfied voice, she exclaimed, "Great!"
"Do you want to try it one more time and switch? Or switch now?" she asked.
