As much as Nadia was all full of curiosity and liking to explore new places, she still liked the familiar comforts of the known. The Gryffindor common room being the closest thing to home, the second year was ready to relax there after lessons. And trudging up all the steps there. If only they were allowed to use brooms to get around, especially the lions and eagles given the location of their common rooms. Alas she had to use her feet and her sometimes boundless energy instead.

After depositing her book bag up in her dorm, the young lion practically skipped back down the stairs (Going down always took less effort don’t you know!) and plopping down on one of the overstuffed chairs. Nadia slipping off her shoes, pulling up her feet and curling them under her to get comfy. Thankfully much of her housemates seemed to be occupied elsewhere so it wasn’t crowded or too noisy.

Hady might be a Professor and she might also be the students Head of House but it still felt strange to her whenever she stepped through the portrait and into the Gryffindor common room. Maybe it would always feel that way to her since when she attending Hogwarts as a student years ago, Slytherin had been her house. It definitely gave off a very different feel up here in the tower then in did down in the dungeons.

Sure Nadia was alert to the sound of the portrait hole opening, just about noticing the human form out of the corner of her eye but it didn’t seem to catch her attention like it was important. It was only at the familiar voice that she reacted to the presence, the second year turning to face her head of house otherwise known as one of her dads’ best friends, full on. “Aunt Hads!” she exclaimed with a smile at the woman, her feet falling back to the floor. Taking a break. Nah…the girl chuckling at the comment before answering quite innocently.

“Nope…just strat---thinking.” She could do that even though she wasn’t exactly the most thoughtful of her siblings, especially not as much as Raj. “Checking up on us lions?” The house as a whole of course. Because one didn’t have to check to make sure she was behaving…no sir. Even if her curiosity sometimes took her places that MAYBE she shouldn’t have gone.

With the amount of times the portrait hole must open within a day, Hady didn't expect the students to continuously look towards it each and every time. Therefore she wasn't upset when she wasn't noticed immediately. Plus the greeting she did get made up for it. "Hello, Little Miss." She smiled warmly at her niece.

"Thinking, hmm? Are you sure you don't mean plotting?" The woman joked lightly walking over to sit herself on the arm of the chair Nadia was sitting in. She had caught that little slip up but wasn't going to make a fuss of it. Kids would be kids after all, yes? And she was keeping an eye on them all without ruining too much of their fun. She remembered very well what it was like to be young.

... Okay, soooo... she may or may not have made a mistake.

Vera had been SO excited to learn the spell in Transfiguration to change her height around and she'd been even extra excited to give it a shot on herself. Considering how close the lesson had been to her birthday though, she decided to save it as a gift to herself a few days after her and Vas' 15th. It had seemed like a GREAT idea at the time! She'd been planning on just going a couple inches taller, sit at 5'3" instead of her 5" frame.

But.. it hadn't exactly gone as planned.

She hadn't really done a whole lot of practice using spells actually on herself. And perhaps she should have started with something... not this. But no, of course she'd jumped straight into it - tapped her head twice, cast tirinum and just expected everything to be peachy. But that was NOT what happened, which was abundantly clear as she hobbled her way into the Gryffindor common room. She'd reach 5'3". If she stood on her left leg. But her right had only gone to about to 5'2" which was leaving her horribly lopsided and uncomfortable as she'd tried to run to find help in her peers. "HELLOOOOO? IS ANYONE IN HERE!?"

Fortunately, there was someone in the Gryffindor common room. One Logan Paton was sprawled across the sofa closest to the fireplace. A book was surprisingly in the boy's possession. Despite his efforts to actually study and do better in his classes this year, some classes just were not keeping him engaged. His copy of the History of Magic textbook was resting over his face. If one were to listen closely enough, light snoring could be heard. Whoever said that Gargoyle Strike of 1911 was a fascinating topic clearly had been Confunded.

Even so, something from the reading had stuck with him. The blond was dreaming about gargoyles. That, however, was where the connection with the historical event came to an end. In fact, in his dream world, he had just fought off a horde of gargoyles. Now he was venturing deep inside a castle, inching closer and closer to saving the damsel that had been locked away there. As he stopped near a crackling fire, her voice sounded loud and clear --

Logan suddenly jolted from his sleep with a groan. He pushed himself up and rubbed the sleep out of his eyes, not caring at all that the textbook had found a new resting place on the floor. "What're y' bein' so loud for?" he asked, his eyes locking in on Vera.

When a head popped up on the couch, she wasn't sure if she should be relieved or extra mortified by the fact it had to be Logan of all people seeing her in the current predicament. As if he didn't have enough to be able to make fun of her for... here she was, giving him more ammunition. But that was a concern for some other time, because her hips were already starting to feel the strain of a couple flights of hobbling and there might have been just the slightest bit of panic beginning to settle.

Was she going to be lopsided for forever!? Who was going to tell her she was pretty then!?

"I'm being loud because I need HELP." She hopped on over to the couch, putting her weight on the back when she reached it and staring down at him pleadingly. "Can you help me undo a spell? Or if you can't, can you find me someone who can??" Vasco was a good bet. Did she want her brother to see this too? Absolutely not - but a Ravenclaw sounded good about now and it was much better him than Sailor.

Vera, the Vera Thanatos, needed help? And she was asking HIM for it? That was ... that was ... Logan was really in no state at the current moment to comment or laugh at the whole concept of Vera being in a sticky, or stunted, situation and plan to not let her forget it for at least a month. Perhaps his brain was taking some time to catch up with everything that was going on considering the blond was half-awake at this point. Or maybe he just knew this wasn't an appropriate time for poking fun. Only Merlin would know at this point.

"Alright, alright. Calm down, calm down. I'll see what I can do," he replied, doing his best to get Vera to chill before she went into full panic mode and her head swelled up or something. The hopping was something that didn't go unnoticed, which prompted him to retrieve his wand, which ... Where was that blasted thing?

"So what exactly happened?" The question was asked out of curiosity, buying himself some time to search for his wand -- nope, it wasn't under the sofa. Plus that was important information he'd need to know if he was supposed to undo whatever. "Did someone hex you? Or were you casting spells on yourself?" No wand under that throw pillow either.

She supposed it was actually a blessing in disguise that it was Logan, because he was probably one of the only people she could have run into in the common room who would have known her well enough to notice the impending panic but also be old enough to potentially help. She loved Scootalou a ton, but she questioned whether or not her first year little sister would have been particularly helpful in this current situation.

So yes, she supposed that in this moment she was actually grateful for Logan Paton.

Following his direction, she attempted to take a couple of deeeeeep breaths to calm herself, while watching him move around looking for something. Did he not know where his wand was?? She didn't have time to panic on that either though or do something silly like offer her own, because she was being asked questions. Her face turned a bit red immediately and she hoped his pity lasted a liiiiittle longer and he didn't razz her too much on it. "I was casting on myself. Which I THOUGHT was an excellent idea because I really did pick up Tirinum quickly but no one really tells you how hard casting on yourself is. Like... how are you going to envision what you want the result to look like if you can't see yourself? So... I'm like a fraction taller but.. I'm not EVENLY taller." That was a lot of words to say all at once, so now she needed a few more breaths to calm herself. "I know the reverse it like... Reversio or Revarate or... something." Considering she couldn't even properly remember Reverte, it was probably good she hadn't tried to fix herself.

There was another thing to be grateful about: he wasn't fully listening to her ramble on about what had happened to her. It wasn't that he did not care, but his priorities were on locating his wand so he could undo the alleged damage. However, the words that did manage to register in Logan's mind were enough for him to understand what all the panic was about. Casted on herself ... Tirinum ... a fraction taller ... not evenly taller ... Merlin's beard! Did my wand grow legs and walk away?

He picked up the History of Magic textbook, only to nonchalantly let go of it and let it fall to the floor with a hefty thud. No wand hiding under there either. Blue eyes then returned their gaze to Vera, hopefully giving her some reassurance that he would find his wand. Eventually. It was around here somewhere since he had been using it to flip pages before doing on an adventure in his dream world.

"Reverte," Logan corrected her, his tone surprisingly gentle. Fortunately for her, Charms and Transfiguration were two of just a few classes he actually paid attention to and was pretty good at. "More dummy practice might've been needed before having a go at casting on yourself," he added as he started removing the cushions from the sofa. "You could've asked someone to do it" -- Nothing under cushion #1. -- "and make adjustments along the way, you know."

Had she been fully conscious of how much she was just rambling at this stage, she certainly would have been grateful for his only half listening. Although, even without knowing that fact she still was feeling slightly reassured by the fact he was diligently looking for his wand. At least... that's what she assumed he was trying to locate anyways, considering the minute she'd asked for help he'd seemed to spring into action. She was feeling something with all her anxiety about that, but this certainly was not the occasion to figure out what that could be.

She watched him lift the book before dropping it back down, unconsciously beginning to chew on her lower lip before her eyes flitted up to meet his and she gave a small half smile in gratitude. She could see he was trying, and she appreciated it a whole lot. She would have helped too but she probably would just get in the way in her current state.

The gentleness surprised, enough into ebbing some more of underlying panic as she gave a small blink towards him. "Right. That one!" It was good he'd been listening in class. "I did do it perfect the first time I did it on the dummy so... I just thought this would be easy." Plus, her wand was supposedly to have some natural talent to it on these things. Which she tried to rely on far too often. "And... I just thought it might be fun to see if anyone noticed if I actually got taller so I didn't want to ask anyone. But clearly that was a mistake." Or else this would not be the conversation currently happening. Spotting another couple books by the sofa that might have been his, she carefully hobbled herself over towards it - leaning over while gripping the couch to shake things out and see if the missing wand would fall out - before then settling on the couch cushion he'd already cleared.

"Why the tone of surprise?" he asked, a brow raising as a smile appeared on his face. Yes, believe it or not, Logan Paton did pay attention in class. The ones that mattered and were interesting enough, at least. Now, whether or not the homework was going to get done was another matter entirely.

This time the boy was listening to the damsel in distress hobbling around before him. No laughter escaped his mouth, and he was still in pursuit of his wand. "Fair enough," Logan acknowledged, resting a hand on the second cushion momentarily just to make sure a certain someone didn't trip as a result of her not-quite-long-enough leg. "Who'd you want to noti--" He forced a cough so the question that had sprung into his head remained unfinished. "Mistakes happen every now and then. And, fortunately, yours is a pretty easy fix. This time, at least." He grinned.

With Vera now settled on the cleared cushion, he finally gave the other a lift. "Well, well, well," he muttered, swiftly retrieving his wand that had somehow gotten swallowed up in its depths. "Time to get you back to normal. Unless you want this to be the new way of getting m-- others' attention." That and the loudness had been effective, not that he'd say that out loud.

Telling someone she was surprised because they were being so nice when they were genuinely trying to help seemed like a poor idea. And while making fun of their level of attentiveness in school was also probably a jerk move it seemed the lesser of two evils. "I just thought you daydreamed your way through classes." You know, like she usually did unless the Professors had physically active lesson plans for the day.

The movement made for her protection went unnoticed, which was good for her little brain at the current moment. Though she did notice his half asked question and she tilted her head to look at him wondering why he'd abandoned it. Especially in a manner that came off only mildly suspicious to her. Was that a weird question to ask? It seemed harmless to her, which was probably why she went ahead and answered it. "I wasn't really looking for anyone in particular to notice." Was that the truth? Who knew. Not Vera. "I just was overall curious to see who actually pays attention to me, you know? Aren't you ever curious about that?" It was like her version of the yawn test. Though... for future reference, she'd be sticking to forced yawns. ... Why was he being SO nice? She was starting to feel anxiety flitting around in her stomach again too at his grin, which seemed a weird time but.. whatever. ".. Thank you." For his help and all.

She breathed out a deep sigh of relief when the wand was recovered and she grinned up at him before stretching out her legs in front of her. "Fix it please! I think I'd like to go back to being short." She'd caught the near slip in his words again, but she wasn't sure what he was going to say that time. And there were now far more pressing matters than to ask him. Maybe in a few minutes, if she happened to remember.

A laugh sounded after the daydream comment. "Depends on the class and the subject matter," he said with a shrug of his shoulders. Charms, Transfiguration, Defence -- those he typically was quite attentive in. Astronomy and History of Magic were different circumstances entirely. Even Divination involved some daydreaming, though he would argue that was acceptable then.

His unfinished question wasn't a weird one to ask, per se. Halfway through Logan realized that it was information that he didn't need to necessarily be privy to. Part of him didn't really want to know in the event the answer was less than desirable. Then another part knew that there were times Vera was determined to do as she wanted. If she wanted to be taller, then she would find a way to make that happen eventually. "Curious if anyone was paying attention to me?" Err. "Not really. Don't personally see the point in testing who does or doesn't notice things about me. I tend to do whatever I feel like doing most of the time, with no rhyme or reason." Whether or not that was the full truth was up for debate, considering he had a knack for being loud and getting people to notice things if he wanted their attention.

Was that a 'thank you' and a 'please' he heard coming from her mouth? Logan made a mental note to add that to his calendar to remember such a 'rare' occurrence. His gaze may have lingered a moment or two when the leg stretching happened before he cleared his throat. "Alright. Hold still now," he told her, thinking clearly about the intent of the spell he was about to cast. With a tap, he stated, "Reverte."

She could relate to that by a bit, even the subject matters. Outside of Logan's mum, Professor Khanna was her favorite of the Professors so CoMC and DADA were what got the most of her attention. And Charms and Transfiguration she did... Decent, as long as they were moving around. But History of Magic? Snoozeville. And Divination she'd dropped because she just did not like it. Daydreaming was allowed there, but it wasn't fun when you had to also analyze it. "Fair enough."

She would have been curious what a desirable vs undesirable answer would have been, but lucky for both of them she couldn't read his mind to know there even would have been a difference. She figured an answer was simply an answer. But he did certainly have a point she'd do what she wanted. She didn't have the best of impulse control in most matters. If she thought about wanting to do something... It was likely she was going to just do it. "That's ... Not exactly what I meant, I suppose. I mean, I do whatever I want when I want and knowing who notices isn't going to make me change that. I guess I was just curious if anyone notices notices." She was starting to wish she hadn't said anything, because talking about this was starting to mildly embarrass her and particularly with the present company. "Nevermind. It was silly and clearly not a good idea." She added, trying to dismiss the conversation.

The pause was only noticed because she was anxious to be 'normal' again, but before she could even consider imploring he hurry it up - he was casting the spell and miraculously her legs were back to their original state. She hopped off the couch, noting the still soreness in her hip but the ability to be flat footed and not hunched. [B]"I can stand up straight again!!" She squealed excitedly, before giving him a quick hug in a mix of excitement and gratitude. "Thank you!!!"

Quite fair indeed. He figured that she could relate to his class preferences and the ones he decided were worthy of just sitting and daydreaming. They had been on their fair share of anti-homework ventures over the years, after all. Speaking of, weren't they due for one of those soon? They did have quite a list to get through. It sure trumped putting in even the tiniest bit of effort to do the reading assignment for History of Magic.

Vera's response about being curious if anyone 'notices notices' was not computing in the boy's brain. The head tilt to the side would have revealed as much, and he had to resist the urge to tap his temple with the tip of his wand. She wanted people to notice her? But she was going to do what she wanted regardless? But that was silly? Logan's thoughts were running in circles, though there was one that was crystal clear to him: Girls were weird.

But there he was, not making fun of her despite everything that had transpired, hoping that getting to reverting the size of Vera's legs was enough to distract from that pause of his. It seemed to have done the trick, as the fellow fourth year was off the couch and squealing and hugging him.

Wait, wait, wait. She was hugging him? He blinked. Yes, without a doubt she was, and he let her, not sure what he was supposed to do. Was he supposed to hug her back back? Pat her shoulder? Say it was good to see her back to her usual self? Toss a throw pillow at her as a diversion? Then, with another blink and before he could actually respond, it was over.

"No problem," he responded with a smile, trying to play off the whole hug thing as something totally normal and not something that had left him stunned for a moment. "Any time."

They were absolutely due for one of those soon. Atlas' gift left her, well them, with a lot of options of different things to do and cross off in the next couple of years. And while Scooter and Vera had also picked some that would be strictly sister outings, she'd also subconsciously filed away some that she thought might be more fun with her unofficial partner in crime. After all, Logan had technically been the original additional recipient of the list as well. And she was never going to say no to ignoring History homework.

Truthfully, she was just glad it didn't compute because then she might have to explain in more words or he might ask again if there was anyone in particular she wanted to notice and... She didn't think there was, but at the same time there might have been and the thought made her increasingly uncomfortable. So even though his confusion seemed visible, she let it go and decide another thing to be grateful for this evening.

Was that the universe's belated gift to her? Or maybe just making up for the horrible one she'd given herself.

The not making fun of her was interesting. Truthfully, she would have expected a lot of laughs and a full earful from him but... Really he'd only stated that maybe practice was best first and then he'd been super helpful. Was this usually how Logan was with her brother and why they were good friends? She'd never really observed him with other people. The hug had perhaps surprised her as much as it did him, and she'd been careful to let go quickly, stepping back too and pushing a strand of hair that had waggled free from her ponytail back behind her ear.

Trying to also play off the sudden awkwardness she felt, she focused on how to respond to his comment and gave a small laugh. "I appreciate the sentiment of helpfulness but... I don't think I'll be casting anything on myself for awhile." Even if she'd wanted to try the color changing hair charm too. She'd just have to save that for another time. Looking around at all the books she'd interrupted him with, she blinked a bit. "Did I interrupt you... Studying?"

He didn't even consider prompting Vera further about what she had been going on about. He was curious, but he wasn't sure that he would want to know after the fact. There were questions that he had, but just accepting the fact that girls were weird, especially Vera lately for some reason, was easier to do. Perhaps it was something he'd dig into another day. Or not at all. He too was okay with letting this one go. He wasn't even going to bring it up to Vas, though maybe the all hobbling around the common room might be worth mentioning to get a laugh out of him.

The not making fun of her was interesting. At this point, being half-awake couldn't be an excuse anymore. So what was going on inside that noggin of his? Truthfully, a lot of mixed feelings, some of which he was pushing aside because right now he needed to act cool and not be weird even though he was paying attention to Vera as she moved a strand of hair behind her ear. Blink, blink.

Her small laugh caused him to quickly look away and occupy himself with picking up the textbook he had dropped on the floor while searching for his wand. "Smart choice. Wouldn't hurt to ask someone for assistance to begin with next time," he commented, returning her laugh with a small laugh of his own. In his opinion, he had proven himself to be competent. Not that he was offering or anything.

Another laugh sounded. "Don't think much studying was going on. More of an attempt really, which I'spose is an improvement."

She WAS weird(er) than usual lately, which she of course had noticed but she would have been mortified that Logan had as well. Maybe it was the influence of one of her closest friend's being in a relationship in happy. Maybe it was her obsession the previous term with the idea of dating for Papa's sake. Or maybe it was something else entirely. But... whatever it was, she found herself thinking about the idea of people being interested in her a lot more than she used to. Though she tried to keep herself focused on the idea of could anyone have a crush on her rather than the flip side of that.

She didn't really want to know if she had one. In fact, she was actively avoiding the idea.

As far as she was concerned though, not that her panic was ebbing fully, they were both being weird in this moment. Where was the comment about being taller wouldn't have made her any less of a troll? Or... only she could mess up such an easy spell? She'd literally walked in and given him an arsenal of material and yet... he wasn't using it?

Seeing him tidy, she took the opportunity for something to do as well and leaned down to pick up another one of the books before holding it out towards him. "You're probably right. I just figured Vasco probably would have launched into a whole thing about me trying to change something about myself and 'why isn't it your volume'?" She gave an imitation of her brother, smiling fondly still too though. "And can you imagine if I asked Scoot?" A first year, as smart as her baby sister was, probably would have been worse than she had been. Asking Logan or her dorm mates hadn't even occurred to her, though not because it was a lack in competence. Which.. yes, he had shown himself to be as such.

"I'm impressed either way. I can't even remember the last time I opened a book other than to make a longer pillow." Not outside of class time anyways. "Are you married to the idea of attempting studying still or do you want to go do something?" Because now that she was okay, she had energy again. And for some reason... she kind of thought she maybe wanted to spend time with him???

Maybe she'd done something else to herself.

The entire situation had given him the upper hand and every opportunity to poke fun at Vera and her mistake, hadn't it? Oddly enough, the thought hadn't really occurred to him. Maybe not finishing that nap of his had something to do with it or he just wasn't on his A-game today or maybe ... nah, now that was silly. Just as silly as transfiguring oneself and ending up with one that was an inch too short.

"Probably right? You know I am 100% right," he interrupted with a tone of playfulness in his voice. "Just imagine how awkward it would have been if you had to hobble around all over the castle begging for help. You're so lucky that I was here to save the day." He beamed. "I really should get an Order of Merlin, First Class, for such a service. Logan Paton: Rescuer of Damsels in Distress."

The Vasco imitation caused him to snort. It was quite spot on, to say the least. "That definitely sounds like something he'd say." He would know, considering the Ravenclaw was his best friend. "And I can't blame him," the blond added with a shrug. Vera did, after all, wake him up from his angelic sleeping state.

As for imagining what Scoot would do, just imagining what was bound to be pure chaos made him chuckle. "Yeah, probably best not to ask Vesper. For a few years at least. I'd hate to see you --" Looking more troll-like? That phrase surprisingly didn't form in his mind. "-- in worse condition than you were." Pause. Weird. Ahem. "Imagine just how hysteric you'd be."

The rest of what she had said did not register in Logan's mind when the word 'impressed' was thrown out there. That was ... not something he heard every day. The question, though, was heard loud and clear. He rolled his eyes in a very Vera-esque way. "Do you really need to ask that question?" Logan asked her, that trademark smirk of his appearing on his face. "Where to?" he added, letting that textbook drop to the floor once again.

It would have been the perfect time to do her trademark eye roll, but instead she found herself laughing. "Don't make me say that though. Let me try to keep at least one shred of dignity tonight. I'll consider it my birthday gift. Well, that plus the correctly sized legs." She grinned back at him, before giving a small fake shudder at the idea of having to go all around the castle. The hobbling had been a bit painful, and entirely degrading. And considering the panic, she'd been an empty common room away from tears. And crying in anywhere but her bed with the curtains drawn was detestable to her so... yes, that would have all been bad. "I'll keep that in mind when I need a project for working on Transfiguration skills." She replied, a soft playful snort. He would want a medal, wouldn't he? "Although I think we should workshop your title. Damsels in distress? Too fairy tale." She was not a damsel and despite his help... she would certainly be trying to not thinking of him as a knight.

That was the nice thing about being a twin and having spent SO much time with a person, she could very easily pull a decent Vasco imitation. He probably could too for her but she doubted he would - unless to mock her in her own presence. "I'm pretty sure that is something he's said." At the not being able to blame him, she give him a little bit of side eye but... it was short lived. "She'll probably surpass us all by next year though." Was she a proud, confident older sister? 100%. But before she could launch into more praise for her favorite person, her head was tilted wondering how he was going to finish that sentence. She was gearing for a troll joke but... it didn't come. "I'd prefer to not imagine it." She eyed him for a moment, wondering for the briefest moment if the lack of jokes was because Vasco had said something to him when she'd questioned if she actually looked like a troll but... she was certain he wouldn't have connected that to Logan's jokes. Plus... the question hadn't been related to his jokes either.

She was maybe sure of that.

She laughed at the eye roll, eying the book he dropped again before picking it up to at least move it to one of the tables. Tripping hazard and all, which she was at the moment very aware of. "You nearly do that as well as me now." She commented, referencing the eye roll before considering the question. Which item on the list sounded best? She reached for the pocket of her cloak, pulling out the list and moving back towards him so he could look too. "So I like the idea of making the largest, most outrageous sandwich in the kitchen or trying to explore one of the passageways." She didn't much mind which though.

The smile on his face did not waver at the sight of Vera laughing. It was kind of nice, laughing and not making jabs at each other. Though he had to admit both were equally fun. Not that he would be admitting that out loud any time soon. "Fair enough," he replied, accepting that her dignity and her usual-sized legs would be satisfactory gifts. Well, a prelude to the actual gift, which he still needed to figure out and purchase, because he wasn't going to let her birthday gift to him the previous summer upstage him by a landslide.

"Oh? Then what should my title be then, hmm?" He was, to say the least, intrigued by what she thought a suitable designation for him would be. As for that medal, well, who wouldn't want a token to remember such a momentous event? They could add it to one of the trophy cases downstairs to really showcase his chivalrousness.

Another laugh. He was not at all surprised to hear that Vasco had very likely made comments about how loud Vera could be. "Well, that makes two of us," he added with a shrug. Logan knew that she could be just as loud as Vera, if not louder, and sometimes he could be a bit much for his best friend. But he liked to think that made things interesting.

Speaking of interesting, he might have noticed being eyed every now and then. He didn't quite know what to make of it, but his thoughts about that lasted just as long as Vera had been eyeing him. He honestly didn't mind it. "Yeah, best not to think about the end of the world," he added with a smirk. "Already was a close call today."

The laugh at his eye roll was not expected, but he silently appreciated it as he watched Vera, for whatever reason, pick up the book he had dropped as a rebellious act. In his opinion, picking it up wasn't necessary, but Vera was going to Vera. "You're not the only one around here who is decent at impressions. Or maybe I've contracted a new illness by being around you so much," he commented in jest as The List made an appearance.

"Why not both?" he suggested, grabbing onto her sleeve without thinking about it and leading her to the portrait hole. "We can see which of those passages gets us closest to the kitchen, and I happen to be a pro at making ridiculously large sandwiches."

Truthfully she expected nothing from him, and she also liked having given the better gift though considering she didn't think she could top it she probably just... wouldn't when June next rolled around.

What should his title be? She couldn't help another laugh at that, smirking slightly. "I think Anna already gave you the perfect title. What was it? ... Faithful House Elf to the Seraphic Princess of Joy and Beauty." The latter part of course being herself. How she loved that Hufflepuff and her exuberance. "It would be pretty long though to fit on a medal. Maybe I should fit it into an acronym instead." She had to concentrate to think for a moment on what that would even be. FHESPJB? Maybe that wasn't great either.

She wasn't sure for a moment if he meant he also thought she was loud and hoping to change that or if he meant Vasco also found him to be loud. Which... considering both had a shred of truth to it, she decided to not push for a concrete answer - instead just picking one and assuming that's what he'd meant. "He has far more patience for yours. He told me he's even been listening to you practice drums when he can." Which was a true sign to his loyalty to his friend for her sound sensitive twin.

It was good at least someone had already accepted she was just going to do what she was going to do. It really would make things simpler for everyone if they took that as fact as well, herself included. He'd contracted something too now? Perhaps it was just in the air tonight, because the more the conversation progressed without being any rudeness from either she was convinced she also had contracted something. "I hear imitation is the highest form of flattery. I'm touched you think that much of me." She teased, pushing all illness thought from her head.

Which was also much easier considering he was also now pulling her by the sleeve of her cloak. "Short legs again!" She reminded softly, adding a small skip step to catch up to him, Once that was done, she peered at the list in her hand again and the small annotations she'd made about passages and where they presumably went to. "Ummm, I think there's supposed to be one in the corridor outside that leads down to the 4th floor? And then from there we could try the one from third to first!" Which would cut their travel time by a lot (hopefully) and then food faster.

He should have known that Anna's nickname for him would have been brought up. The boy rolled his eyes once more and let out a little laugh. While there were some things he liked about that title, he wasn't terribly fond of being dubbed a house elf. Not to mention that it was insinuated that he was dutiful to a princess aka Vera was ... laughable, hence another laugh escaped him. "FHESPJB? Yeah, that's going to need some workshopping." Which he was something he'd leave Vera to. "Unless, of course, this means I get multiple medals. One for each letter." Now that sounded like a splendid idea to him.

The concrete answer would have been that both of them were loud, and the assumption that had been made was indeed correct. As for Vasco having more patience for him and his loudness, Logan shrugged his shoulders. "Maybe it's a sibling thing. I have more patience for my friends than I do my sisters." Who, for the record, were all loud and annoying at times. "He has. Now if only he'd pick up an instrument. At the very least, I think he could rock the cowbell."

It was easy to accept that, considering he accepted that about himself and figured everyone else was expecting him to just do as he pleased as well (and if they weren't on board that train, then they were simply going to be left behind). Maybe it was a Gryffindor thing. As was this apparent 'illness' of theirs.

Now the eyebrow was rising. The whole flattery thing and her liking that he thought that much of her caused him to blink. "That spell of yours messed must've messed with your head or something." Did he think that much of her though? Thankfully they had places to be, so he didn't have to linger on that question for very long.

"Then tell them legs to get moving! We've got passages to explore and a kitchen to get to. Time is of the essence!" There were only a handful of things that he would be in a hurry: going on adventures and food. But, because he was nice, he did slow down the pace -- just a little -- as the portrait opened, revealing the corridor beyond. "After you."
