A classroom wasn't the best place to hold a meeting, even if he had gotten rid of the usual desks and chairs there so, Hirsch had set up a small meeting place in the Arena itself. This was about dueling, after all. It made next to no sense to hold something like this in the classroom in the first place.
So, the man had arranged an array of cushions and mats on the floor of the middle of the arena in between two of the raised platforms. The room itself had a weak winter sunlight streaming in through the high windows and a heating charm in place, in case the cold was starting to get to anyone.
And Hirsch? Hirsch was leaning against one of the platforms, casting casual glances at his watch every now and then. His expression was neutral, maybe somewhat giddy if you looked closely, but something he wasn't about to show was any signs of nervousness.
So come in, pick a seat on the cushions, mats, floor or even the platform itself and wait for the first Dueling Club meeting to begin!

Oh look, finally the dueling club is here! Since Professor Hirsch announced that he's gonna bring the club back, Ava couldn't wait patiently for it to be open. And today was the day, the first meeting. She had marked this day on her calendar so she would NOT gonna miss it, okay?
With an enthusiasm and full spirit, the young lioness walked into the dueling arena. She tried to act cool like the older students but still, her smile could say that she was VERY EXCITED with this. This wasn't the tournament yet, but still she was very enthusiast. "Hello Professor Hirsch! Thank you for bringing the club back, I have been waiting for this meeting!" She greeted the man. She picked a blue cushion and sat on the front. Woooohooooo!!!!

Azura was probably the last person Professor Hirsch was expecting to see! Especially after how she had ended up after his last class! But she was here to prove herself with magic! She knew she wasn't so good at physical defense! But at least she could protect herself with magic!
She moved into the class room and greeted the Professor with a warm smile! "Hello Professor Hirsch!" She said as she looked around and then found a nice spot on the platform and settled there.

Oh, yaaaaaaaayyyy.
Dueling club.
How fun.
Dragging her feet, Suri slouched as she walked into the arena, her bag hanging off one shoulder and a very grumpy expression on her face. She'd wanted to be in this club when she'd sent her permission slip home, but that all changed when it had come back signed WRONG. She'd tried sending at LEAST five angry letters, but nothing had helped. APPARENTLY, mum didn't think she was talented enough to be in the tournament. She'd said something about "lack of control over wand" and "too competitive" and "rude". Which was SO. NOT. FAIR. UGH.
So, now she was FORCED to be here and learn about dueling but she couldn't actually duel. Benzi had said she needed to uphold the Rider name but she couldn't DO that if she WASN'T ALLOWED TO BE IN THE TOURNAMENT. Sure, he'd also said the challenges were fun but it was totally not the same thing and she was angry and grumpy and she was going to PROTEST the ENTIRE TIME.
Not looking at the professor at all - clearly it was his fault too, somehow - Suri plopped down on a cushion towards the back and hugged her knees to her chest. The twelve year old eyed the excited students with distaste and promptly decided that dueling club was for nerds anyway, and they were all beneath her. Curling her lip, she sighed and waiting for the club to start.

Duel club meeting! He almost forgotten about that! Henric jogged up the stairs to the first floor corridor and made it just in time to DADA classroom. He checked the time on his watch again. Oh hey...there was still a few more minutes to spare!
"How you do, Professor Hirsch?" Henric greeted with a smile. He seemed to be looking well...he didn't know how to put it. Hmm? He just hoped the meeting would go well. Right....time to choose seats now! Ah he spotted his favourite blue cushion over by the corner! Henric tugged on his satchel bag as he made his way towards his seat.
He didn't forget to grin and wave at Ava,of course, "Hey Cake!"
So Dante was waiting for this. He liked it last year besides him getting his butt kicked by Hady and Thornton. But this year he plans on winning. The only consolation is he did not get last place. So lets see how Hirsch does with this. Dante had faith. Now if only Draper was here because it would be amusing to him with both of those Professors in one room.
He wanted to see it.
"Hey Professor, It's cool you're letting this continue. It was fun last year"
Dante went over to an empty mat and flopped down on it. There down he was ready to listen to meaningless detail. Unless he is changing things up.

Jace was uncertain in so many levels if he should attend this meeting. The professor had seen him in a vulnerable state just a few days ago, and it was something that bothered him greatly. As much as possible, the Ravenclaw would want to deal with his issues alone so he could contemplate his actions. However, his ordeal was too much for the eleven year old to handle alone so, he obviously had to turn to someone who has more knowledge about defending one’s self; Hirsch.
It took him a good while to convince himself that it was perfectly okay to turn up and participate that morning. Surely, the professor won’t discriminate and single him out, right?
Quietly, Jace entered the room, bowed at the professor in greeting, and took a seat near Ava and Azura. Jace gave them a grin and waited for the meeting to start.

[Color=magenta]The dueling club meeting was on its way to getting started and so naturally Rachel was on her way to it. She was making her way there on her own since she had not come from the Ravenclaw tower so she hadn't met with any of her Housemates there nor on her way from the library.
She entered the arena, pausing to take a look around. Rachel noticed Professor Hirsch and sent him a smile. Her friends got smiles too but she opted to sit next to her second favourite student leader. "Hello, Henric. I hope you don't mind me sitting with you." She made herself comfortable on a cushion closest to him.

FINALLY.
Finally, finally finally, finally. Bast had been bored out of his mind with no combat. Dueling was his only reprieve and it had taken forever for the first meeting to happen. There was no way Bastien was going to miss. He ran down to the arena, coming to a skidding halt at the entrance. "Hey, professor!" He bowed his head in greeting, and on the way to a cushions, gathered himself enough so that by the time he was sitting full lotus on the cushion, he was calm and patiently waiting for the meeting to begin.

YES! It was finally time for the Dueling Club to begin, and Ariadne was ECSTATIC! Sure, she was a nice and friendly person, but she loved a good, competitive duel, too! Plus, if the need ever came for her to REALLY defend herself, she wanted to be FIERCE on the battlefield! She walked in to the Arena and automatically a rush of adrenaline blazed through her. This was going to be awesome!
"Hi, Professor Hirsch!" she greeted, as she maneuvered through the maze of cushions and mats and found one she thought suited her. She sat down cross-legged on the mat and waved to Rachel and Azura. So who else had joined the club? What about DAVIE? With his exploding lemonade, he kind of seemed like the type to be here. Looking around, though, she didn't see him. Oh, well. Things had just gotten underway and friends or not, this was going to be AMAZING.

Mason grinned as she walked into the heated room. She would never admit it, but she had been pretty excited when she had learned of this club.
Mason had always been kinda good at physical defence and her magic wasn't too shabby, but she was soooo eager to learn from someone who had actual experience with Defence in both a physical and magical way.
Mason gave the someone in question a nod and a smile, "Hello, Professor Hirsh!"
She made her way towards where Rachel and an unknown Ravenclaw sat. She plopped down next to Rach and elbowed her in the ribs. "Didn't know that you'd be joining." she said, "Do you know if Haddie is joining as well?" She knew that things had been kinda rocky for the best friends, but she really hoped that they had worked it out.

Just like last term, Airey had agreed to assist with Dueling Club in whatever capacity deemed necessary. At least that was the story he would be sticking to when asked. What the astronomy was really doing was coming to judge observe Professor Not Sabel. The man rarely grew close with any of his colleagues, keeping most at a professional 10 foot distance, so when he did it became hard to stomach someone else in their position. It had been that way when Calista had left, and Maddox, and then when Sabel had taken Medea's role when she had left...and now was the unfortunate circumstances surrounding the New Defense Against the Dark Arts professor.
Entering the room, the Astronomy professor offered a quick salute to the man and then hung out towards the back of the room leaning against the wall.

Kitty was in a dark mood. Her mother had ordered her to join the dueling club against her wishes, and ever since she had been dreading this day. Just reading the permission slip that her mother had to sign was enough to give Kitty nightmares of getting crippled, maimed, or mortally embarrassed. It was not that she was a coward, it was just that she was naturally shy and not very strong - activities like in front of large crowds terrified her. It was the same reason why she never played Quidditch. The only difference in her mind between Dueling and Quidditch was that she didn't understand the rules of Dueling.
And now the day she had been dreading was upon her. Kitty walked in to the classroom, feeling lonely and on the verge of panic. Everyone else was excited. They probably would be very good at this. Her newest friend Mason was here, as was Rachel and her Muggle Studies partner Ariadne. Great. Now they would get to see her embarrass herself in front of everyone. Haddie wasn't here yet, but Kitty was sure she would be coming soon.
"Hello Professor Hirsh. Hi Professor Airey." Kitty tried to smile but found she couldn't. She wanted to tell them that she didn't understand the rules very well, and that she didn't want to be there. But if she didn't participate and her mom found out she would be furious. So she said nothing more and instead went to join her fellow students.

Last term Hugo didn't signed up for the dueling club 'cause he was feeling too lazy and not ready, instead he just watched the duels which were pretty awesome and this year he gathered enough courage and energy to sign up. So here he was. He didn't mind not winning, he just wanted to practice spells and all that.
The fifth year headed to the arena and there were other students already there, he greeted Hirsch "What's up, professor?" and spotted Henric. Hehehehe. He chose to sit next to him, "Sooo....did you thought about what the letter said?"

Fighting really wasn't her thing - that was much more up Juno's alley. But here Esme was going to her first meeting. Her father had been very pleased about them joining, but mom on the other hand... not so much.
This was just nerves.
Once they got started MAYBE she would enjoy it.
Stepping into the arena she looked around. Errrr... they weren't going to jump right to it, were they? Esme wasn't comfortable with that. Theory generally wasn't her thing, but she didn't want to start attacking her sister right off the bat. The Defense Against the Dark Arts lesson was bad enough. Only plus in her book is that wands would be used instead of fists.
"Hello, Professor." Spotting Rachel and cutie Henric she took a seat by them. "Hey," she said to them with a smile before giving Professor Flamsteed a Vulcan salute. She was sure he'd like that.
A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.
He had been waiting for the dueling club to start again. He had enjoyed it very much last year and it had been very informative as well. Too bad Dakest wasnt here to teach them again though because he still wasnt sure about the new guy. Had he been an Auror like Dakest? Did they know each other? He knew nothing and he did not like that.
As he entered the meeting place, Yoongi wasn't running inside, greeting everyone with enthusiasm like last year. He knew now that the duelling club wasnt just a side subject. It could safe his life later if he ever got in a sticky situation.
it was not Hirsh that he spotted first but Professor Flamsteed as he entered. He looked at the man, gave a nod to greet his Head of House before he proceedded to walk further. "Hello Professor Hirsh" he greeted with a smile. "I'm glad you decided to keep the club running again this year" much better than fighting with his bare hands.
Ever since his permission slip had been sent out to his dad, Jaemin had been anticipating the dueling club meeting. Dueling likely meant that he'd get to do magic with other students, which meant much less squishy dummy hugging and grabbing and stuff. He was all for things that didn't involve being snuggled by normally inanimate humanoid objects. What was the worst one of his classmates could do to him, really? Even if some of them weren't very good at magic, the professor would make sure that he left here with his cute, squishy face intact. Riiiiiiight?
He zoomed into the arena in much his usual 'I have too much energy' sort of way, waved to both the professors on duty, and then looked around at all the other students already there. HMMMMM. He wanted to be somewhere he could see everything, especially Professor Hirsch... they could sit anywhere, apparently, as students seemed to be strategically placing themselves all around. The small boy squinted at the cushions and mats before nodding to himself. He knew where he was going.
He perched himself on the edge of one of the platforms, as near as he could get to the professor without being too close. Now he was high up enough to see eeeeeeeeverything.

DUELING CLUB!! Scarlett had really just signed up because she wanted to learn more, she wasn't all that physical when it came to real dueling but she wanted to see what Hirsch had to offer at these extra meetings. It could come in handy, somehow, someday...
Finding a mat that hadn't been taken, she sat down and crossed her legs as she waited eagerly for the meeting to start.

Chloe didn't actually care about dueling at all. A part of her-- the part that was her father's voice in her ear-- didn't really see the point of violence anyway. It was too much work. Threats were just, if not more, effective than actually dueling. It was archaic. Just use your words, people.
But, um, well, Hirsch was holding these meetings. And the twelve year old couldn't decide whether she wanted to be everywhere he was or as far away from him as possible. Crushes were really confusing and she hated them.
Not that face, though, never that face. Hirsch's face was.....well....hello.
She couldn't pluck up the courage to say hello to him so instead she just stared at him like he was the MOST DISGUSTING person on the planet and flopped on a cushion as far away from him as possible. Could he stop? He made her feel funny.

It was his first dueling club meeting, given that he'd skipped out on the event last term in favor of studying for OWLs, but Dima wasn't feeling all that excited. Someone was, though; he'd followed Bast to the arena, and it wasn't difficult to tell that his cousin was practically bursting at the seams.
"Hi, Professor." He nodded at Hirsch and then took a seat on the cushions by the thirteen year old Slytherin who'd led him here.
Always good to remain by capable people, it was.

She hadn't really gotten a chance to spend much time in here since finding it and running into Zeke and the older girl, but the Ravenclaw supposed from now on she would. Well somewhat depending on what was allowed of a first year.
She smiled at her friends as she made her way towards a cushion to perch on. "Hello, Professor," she greeted with a polite smile as she awaited their beginning. Just what was on the agenda to start with?

Dueling club meeting! Carl had signed up almost as soon as Professor Hirsch announced that it would be open this year. He had heard about the cool things some of the older duelers had done in the club last term, so he could not wait to join in the fun. In the previous week, he had read up on spells one could use in a duel and had attempted some of them ... so you could say he was well prepared for this meeting.
Excitedly, the Hufflepuff walked into the Arena. He smiled at the Professor (who also looked quite enthusiastic) and greeted, "Hello, Professor!" Then, he gave Professor Flamsteed a Vulcan salute and sat down on a mat near the front.
Ilia was so happy that she had gotten permission for dueling this year. She wanted to make her father proud and show Henric her skills. It was sad that Adipuff wasn't here but.....she recognized a few faces. And......there was her prefect boyfriend. Ilia made her way over to Henric not caring who was near him. That was her person thank you very much. Regrettably it seemed that the claw pipsqueak Rachel was sitting near him. Whatever.... She sat close by him and gently ruffled his hair to announce herself.

This day just couldn't have come sooner... or actually, that was a lie, it could have come AGES ago, like, first day back. That would have been better, this would do though, it was a good thing.
Bright-eyed and hungry for the club meeting (and other things), Zeke arrived at the arena in time for the meeting. It was a room he was comfortable in, even without mats and cushions or heating charms... those were very unnecessary in his opinion - after all, this wasn't a day care.
Reigning champion in da house? Yes, yes he was.
"Professor Hirsch, Professor Flamsteed," he greeted as he claimed a seat on bare floor beside a cushion. It was a personal choice thing. Mmhhmm.
