Come crowd the stands, well, bleachers that line the Tournament Hall. Scream, yell, holler and wave your arms around as much as you like. The stands are charmed to block all noise, sight, smell and sound from the duelers. To them, you don't exist. Don't need any unnecessary distractions, do we?
By the by, don't try to interfere otherwise one of the referees will have a rather nasty surprise for you.
-------------- OOC: This is a fun spot for those of you would would like to have their characters watch and make commentary on the duels. Please keep in mind that the duelers cannot see or hear your characters (ergo you should not be able to affect the outcome of the duels).

Not really being a dueler herself Cassie of course didn't sign up for the event, but that didn't mean she wasn't excited to watch. The duelers of course needed someone to watch them. She made her way to the viewing area and took a seat. Setting her purse down next to her and glancing to make sure that Aries and Gemini were sitting quietly.
Her watch said that it was almost time to start so the Divination Professor put her eyes on the dueling area. This was exciting, though she hoped everyone would play fair and not get hurt. She'd hate seeing anyone hurt. Maybe hey could use her suggestions, hair and make up spells. Yes that puts a nicer twist to a duel now doesn't it.

Oliver had not been signed up for the dueling club. He didn't really know why. Something about him forgetting to send his dads the permission slip until it was almost the due date, and them stalling on account of it being dangerous or whatever. He didn't really mind too much. It would have been fun to learn how to duel, but it would be fun to watch as well. Right? Right.
So instead of getting ready for a duel, Oliver was taking a seat in the stands. There weren't many people there yet because the duels were just starting. In fact there was only one other person. Professor Morgan and her little kitties. "Hello professor," he greeted before turning his attention to the duel. How exactly did one cheer for a duel? It wasn't like a sporting event, was it? Oh well, if there were stands it meant that he could cheer. Well he didn't know if he could or if he should, but he knew that he would.
"YAY BLAISE!" Almost immediately followed by "GO CHARLOTTE!" It was totally valid to cheer for both of them. He liked them both.

Watching the duellers go before him was comforting in the sense that he would be able to see how it worked for others before having a go at it himself. He still hadn't decided on a clear strategy, but he had options, he had ideas. Ultimately though, he would have to play it by ear and react to whatever situation he found himself in. There was no point in planning his attack if he didn't know what Kyroh was going to do. There were too many variables involved.
For the time being though, he would watch with great enthusiasm. His heart skipped a beat as Hady and Maggie faced off against each other and when the first spell of the dual was shot at Maggie. Honestly, he couldn't think of a worse pairing for a first dual. He wanted to support Hady in this, because he knew she wanted it and they were close friends, but ultimately, it was Maggie who had his support.
He knew of course that they wouldn't be able to hear him, but it didn't stop him from cheering out loud, "Come on, Maggie!" he called out, watching with keen interest as she cast her first spell - a jinx - in Hady's direction.

Benny had made his way to the stands to watch the latest duel. Not because it gave him a look into his fellow student, but because Adi was up and he was there to support his friend. The badger had certainly been to support him when he played quidditch and they both had cheered each other on in gobstones. Too bad he had found out that the stands were charmed to keep sight and sound in to avoid distracting the duelers. Not that he was THAT vocal in cheering but Adi would have to know he was there.
Having arrived early, he was there as it begun. Of course he could only guess what the spells being cast were because Adi was using non-verbals, the flashes of light and wand movement his only clue. It was his best friend's choice of casting for sure. Watching Cutty was just a tad harder to read though he was speaking.
And then Adi switched to casting aloud but not before seemingly flirting with the Slytherin. Yeah, that was either a distraction...or the Hufflepuff's way of telling he knew he was there...or both knowing his friend.

She was upset with herself for not joining in on tournament. She could really kick herself for not doing it. It looked like a a lot of fun. Really, how many people got to say they were in a duel. Too bad she couldn't sign up next year for it. Anyway, she would sit down and enjoy watching the ones that did sign up and see how everyone did.
Making her way to the stands, she seen Professor Cassie. She was with the first year Slytherin boy from muggle studies class the other day. The seventh year headed over that way. "Mind if I sit here?" Did she really even need to ask? She gave Cassie a grin and set down beside her before getting a answer. It was about to start right? Who was first?

It seemed that once a new duel started Cinna was up moving around finding the best of the best cheering sections. Yeah something like that. She had been sitting with professor Cassie earlier but she had to get up and walk around a little bit.
So now she was stuck looking around for another seat again. She should just try to stay still she was about to just sit down somewhere and stay there. But she heard something a few rows down cheering for Maggie. Wait wasn't that Kaycee's friend, Maggie? And the cheerleader was Zeke! She should sit with him. Anyone cheering for a friend of Kaycee deserved her company, plus it was Zeke. Sitting beside him "Cheering for Maggie, huh?"

To say he was nervous was perhaps an understatement, and though he was CHEERING, he was also crossing his fingers that neither of the girls would get hurt. The cracker in Maggie's face wasn't appreciated by him, nor by her he would imagine and so his cheering deflated a little.
"Get back in there, Maggie," he stated softly.
Her smokescreen was an impressive tactic, it was unfortunate it didn't give her quite the outcome she needed.
He was about to cheer again, when there was a question from beside him. Go figure, he hadn't even noticed anyone was sitting there. "Uh huh... yep," he replied, casting his eyes back into the arena. STUPEFY!? Was Hady trying to knock his girlfriend unconscious?!
...
"This is hard to watch," he decided, cocking his head slightly to see Cinna's reaction.

It wasn't long before someone was in the stands with her. She gave a beaming smile to the young man who had joined him, "Hello, perfect day for a duel don't you think." She snapped happily as her green eyes moved to where the duels were taking place. A nervous feeling went over her as it always did when she knew she was watching a duel. "I do hope they don't get hurt." She knew the professors down there wouldn't allow that, but she still worried.
Seeing more students arriving she grinned as Cinna came over, "Not at all. Why are you not dueling?" She remembered speaking to Cinna about joining clubs and having fun this term. "Are you here to cheer on someone specific or just to have fun?" She was just there to have fun so she could see others doing that too.
"Hello Benny, Zeke, how are you both?" She snapped towards the boys as they took their seats. Her eyes moved back to the dueling and she cringed a bit. "Good job everyone" Downfall to not really having anyone specific cheer for, but it was still fun. [b] "Oh Benny was cheering on Adi and Zeke Maggie. Well she hoped they both did well.

Yep. She should have join the tournament. It was really starting to get good. But it was fun watching. It was giving her some ideas if she was ever in a duel. She was hoping that no one would get hurt. Too bad.
Ouch cracker to the face. That wasn't cool. Well it was but not for Maggie. "Come on, Maggie. Don't back down." Though she didn't know Maggie well, she seem like the type of girl would had no plans to back down.
Oh, come on Maggie.
Her brown eyes watched the duel then side eyed Zeke. She couldn't help but to laugh. Not at the duel, since Hardy just tried to Stupefy Maggie.
The seventh year turned her head from the duel it the younger lion with a grin. "Yeah, I bet it is." Though it wasn't to hard for her to watch she wasn't particularly close with either one of the girls. Still amused by Zekes reactions she turned back to watch the duel.

Though she didn't know who was going first or who all were matched against each other. She would just have to see when they started.
Hmmm. She finally answered professor Cassie's question. Though she really wasn't sure why she wasn't dueling. "I don't know. I didn't turn in the permission slip on time. I would have loved to duel." She shrugged. She could have filled it out on her own and everything. It had just slipped her mind to fill it out and turn it in. But she would love to get out their and duel.
"I'm just watching really." She had just came to watch really. Maybe she would cheer for a clear winner or someone who was winning but no she didn't really have anyone she was rooting for or against. Honestly she'd rather be getting ready for her own duel right now than sitting and watching. At least Cassie was keeping her company.

"Yeah," he agreed. But what day was not a good day for a duel? They were indoors, so the weather didn't come into play. In his opinion, every day was a good day for a duel. "Do you think they might get hurt?" That thought hadn't really crossed his mind. Well, the duelers had probably thought of that when they handed in their permission slips.
He opened his mouth to answer the next question, in regards as to why he was not dueling. But he closed his mouth when he realized she had not been asking him, but an older Gryffindor sitting near them. Olly flashed the girl a friendly smile. "Hi! I'm Oliver."
OH NO! While he had been talking, he had been paying attention to the duel going on between Blaise and Charlotte. WHAT HAD HAPPENED? He stood up, staring hard at the scene. Was Blaise okay? He turned toward professor Morgan, a very concerned look on his face. "Do you think he'll be alright?"

There was apparently two duels going on at the same time, Zeke and Cinna there cheering on Maggie. So one of the younger teams had the other dueling area in their control. Benny would pay more attention, but Adi's duel had too much of it already. Which might explain why a certain divination professor had managed to come near them without him noticing before she spoke and made herself known. "Hello Professor Morgan," he greeted in return. "I'm pretty good. How about yourself?"
Dear Merlin...Cutty transfigured a DRAGON!
And Adi was responding in kind!
They were going to be dueling dragons now?! This was certainly weird in the whole grand scheme of things especially the actual duel. Was this even allowed? Benny couldn't seem to remember the presence of the spell in question being on the acceptable list. His gaze passed to the referee of the match...either Flamsteed or Dakest ...he wasn't entirely sure who it was at the moment.
He was momentarily distracted by the presence of dragons.
DANG IT. Maxon was late. He'd been in the library working on homework and lost track of time. Hady had asked him to come, and he'd come, so... better late than never, right? Right. He headed to the stands and took a seat, dropping his bag at his feet. But it looked like he'd come at a bad time because Hady appeared to be hurt. OH NO! Was she okay? He didn't want to see her hurt.

Honestly, he really WASN'T paying attention to people. People didn't matter. What mattered was that Maggie didn't get hurt, because... he didn't want to duel knowing she was in pain somewhere else.
But when he received a greeting from Professor Cassie, he DID look up, however briefly before returning his attention to the duel."Hey Professor," was all he managed to say. Even her question and snapping escaped his notice.
COME ONNNNNN MAGGIE.... and Hady.

Don't back down, what Cinna said. He wanted her to do what Cinna said!
"It really is," he emphasised for Cinna's benefit. "Do you think she'll make it?" Not necessarily win, but, that she'd be okay. Maggie that is.
Somehow he wasn't sure what was worse. Maggie getting crackers to the face, or Maggie being suspended in midair. The second she came down though, he knew the answer to his question. As it happened, he instinctively jumped up from his seat, a hand flying to his mouth.
No.
He was THANKFUL to see that she was... better than he thought might be the case, but she still looked to be in a great deal of pain. They continued for a short period, and the whole time Zeke was fixated on Maggie's face, and the arm she didn't seem to want to move.
Slowly, he managed to plant himself back in his seat. "I can't watch." But he couldn't look away.
"WOOOOOOOOOOO, GO EVIE!!!" Damien yelled out as he made his way through the stands for the optimal viewing spot for the benvie duel, he was impossibly proud of his best friend, and a little jealous too, he didn't have a duelers mindset or determination, and even with his slight recent muscle gain (thank you, basketball), he was still a pretty lanky, weak dude.
He was grinning ear to ear. "LOOK AT YOU GO!" He called out, unable to contain his excitement, it barely mattered if Benzi or Evangeline could hear him, though it would be nice. They were both so fast, not just their spell work, but their footwork and thinking too, and Damien was beyond impressed, especially by that Gemini Charm, that was a tricky one.
OH. OH. RIGHT. Reaching into his bag Damien tugged out a small sheet of cardboard. "Engorgio." He said, tapping on the surface and grinning widely as the board grew until it was as big as a sandwich sign.
He held it up and waved it about while the little stick figures he had drawn weaved and dodged spells shot from each other's wands (which were just smaller sticks the stick figures were holding). Over the figures were large navy blue lettering that read:
Quote:

And when he thought things looked bad, it just got worse. Worse and worse.
Zeke HATED watching... it was awful, so much so that he simply could not sit down while the duel still played out. How could people sit through this? Like... kudos for Hady and all, but his focus was drawn to Maggie, she was copping the brunt of it by the looks of things.
The second Flamsteed called the end of the duel, announcing Hady as the winner, Zeke left the stands, taking the stairs two at a time... and three where his path wasn't impeded by people's failing hands and banners and legs.

Excuse me! Excuse me!
Dueler coming through! Geez people needed to kindly step out of her way. Hady sighed deeply as she pushed open the doors making her way onto the stands. Her eyes quickly scanned the area for Zeke.
It didn't take long at all for she nearly crashed into him in her haste to get up the stairs while he was clearly trying to make his way down. "Zeke!" she called to him the second she noticed he probably wouldn't be slowing down. "You can't get in that way. Professor Airey has her and he's taking her to the Healer. Head up there and meet her, you might have to wait in the waiting room a few minutes though." Hady made sure to say everything quickly but clearly at the same time knowing he wouldn't want to wait and listen for long when Maggie was concerned.
Then came the next dilemma. Did she follow Zeke and make sure that Maggie was alright or give the girl some time alone to feel better?
Out the corner of her eye, while chewing on her bottom lip she glimpsed someone. Someone she hadn't expected to actually come and watch! A time smile curved her lips upward as she raised a hand and waved at Maxon. See she was alright. For the most part. She was more concerned about the others then herself.

Zeke was mostly looking down as he descended the stairs, so he hadn't seen Hady coming up to meet him until he suddenly heard her call his name. Stopping dead in his tracks his hazel eyes rose to meet with hers.
He couldn't go down that way?

"Thanks!" he exclaimed, wrapping his arms around her for a quick hug before swiftly altering his course and heading for the hospital wing. It was just too far away though... he wanted to see her NOW!

She didn't turn in the permission slip, that didn't seem like Cinna, "Everything going alright this term?" She knew she had been absent many evenings with her ill grandmother, but she wanted to make sure her students were doing well too. Cinna always seemed to be someone who was very active and missing a permission slip didn't seem like her.
"Watching is super fun. Dueling is always interesting to watch. I've always wished I could duel, but have never been very good at it." She really couldn't hurt a fly.

"It's always a possibility. You could just be walking down the corridor and get hurt." Things had a way of happened, especially at Hogwarts. So she wouldn't be surprised if there was some hurt students today. Just as she said it the duels started and it seemed a few were struggling. She cringed at that site, maybe it wasn't a good place for her to be. She hated to see anyone hurt.
"They'll be fine, the professors would never allow them to be seriously hurt. Plus the healer will take care of them if needed." Though young Maggie seemed as if she might need a healer. Her eyes moved to Zeke who seemed to be rushing off. "She'll be alright Zeke, but it's good you want to go be near her." What a great friend he was to a few of the slytherin girls. Such a good boy.

AND the blown kiss at Adi from Cutty.
She had no doubts that Cutty would be an interesting dueler, but she couldn't help but gasp at his ideas. Very creative, but she was on edge with these duels. Yes this was most certainly the wrong place for her to be. She needed to be at tea time or something very happy. Her eyes went back to Benny because socializing could calm her.
"I'm well Benny, just trying to enjoy this, but I'm afraid I'm probably going to have to leave soon." She hated being so weak at seeing duels, but it was getting to be at that point.
SPOILER!!: Maxon and Damien

He didn't want to see her hurt.

Clever. no?
Seeing more students she gave them each waves and hello! She liked being near students during events. They always had the best comments and it made her feel like she could connect with them in class better. "Are you both having a good time?" She didn't have to worry about who Damien was cheering for he was surely showing his support.

Out the corner of her eye, while chewing on her bottom lip she glimpsed someone. Someone she hadn't expected to actually come and watch! A time smile curved her lips upward as she raised a hand and waved at Maxon. See she was alright. For the most part. She was more concerned about the others then herself.
Maxon heard a voice, and it sounded like it was directed at him. He looked over to see Professor Morgan speaking to him. He gave her a small smile. "Yes ma'am. Are you?" Ever the polite boy. His parents raised him right. This had been the first duel he'd ever witnessed, being that his mother was the only other person with magic in his family, and she'd never exposed him to this kind of thing before. Duels were strange, but... Interesting, to say the least.
He was glad to see Hady had survived her own duel. He watched as she started towards the stand and had an interaction with someone he could only guess was a friend. Whoever he was, the dude was frantic. Maxon waved back at her when she noticed him, and he turned to wave goodbye to the professor before grabbing his bag and going to meet Hady further down the steps. "Hey," he greeted her. "Are you okay?"

SPOILER!!: Zeke
MOVE, PEOPLE!
Zeke was mostly looking down as he descended the stairs, so he hadn't seen Hady coming up to meet him until he suddenly heard her call his name. Stopping dead in his tracks his hazel eyes rose to meet with hers.
He couldn't go down that way?
Healer?
Waiting room?
Merlin!
"Thanks!" he exclaimed, wrapping his arms around her for a quick hug before swiftly altering his course and heading for the hospital wing. It was just too far away though... he wanted to see her NOW!
The hug completely took Hady by surprise. Honestly she wasn't expecting it at all but she welcomed it anyhow slipping her arms around her friend to hug him back. "No problem," she whispered quietly letting her arms drop back to her sides a second later. It was the least she could being as it was her fault anyhow. She watched Zeke go leaning against the wall out of the way of everyone else.

Hady nodded her head moving to step away from the wall when Maxon joined her at the bottom of the steps. "Hey," she greeted back with a slight grin. It really depended on his meaning of 'okay'. Physically she was. Mentally maybe so. "Yeah, nothing I can't handle at all." Snakes were tough and that was her.

If there was one duel Davie was going to watch, besides the one of his BFF and Colt, it was going to be Blaise vs. Rooney. Both these guys were his friends, he supposed, and they didn't always get along either, he supposed. So as the duel got underway and Rooney just kept nailing Blaise with spell after spell, Davie actually cracked up. It was rare for the first year to actually laugh out loud, but was anyone WATCHING this thing??
"AHAHAHA," Davie laughed loudly, slapping his knees at Rooney's pantomime, "BEES!!!" Hahaha he was SO going to use that sometime! Too bad the duellers couldn't hear his laughter.

The FINALS!
Benjamin versus Benjamin.
What a coincidence but Adi was here to support HIS Benjamin though he wanted Benzi to do well too. Unfortunately there could be only one winner which he hoped would be Benny. The Lion just needed to have confidence which was something he struggled with. Hopefully Adi's encouraging words before the duel helped. And the kiss as well. For the first time ever, he was glad that the stands were magicked so that viewers could not hear or see the spectators. Benny didn't need his boyfriend distracting him like that time earlier in the term when they were practising brewing the Cure for Boils.
Besides himself with excitement, the badger refused to sit. Why sit when the duel was already starting with Benny throwing the first spell? The Disarming Spell! Cool! Going back to basics could be a good thing. Adi approved!
He felt awful. So...he really needed to come watch and cheer on his students, yes. He took a seat, a tin of popcorn in tow. He would share with just about anyone here...oh! It was Adi! He smiled at the young fellow and held out his enormous tin...it was a HUGE BUCKET. "Want any popcorn, Adi?" he asked warmly.
Oh goodness.
This was going to grate on his nerves! He spotted Mr. Truebridge immediately and grinned. "Go, David!!!!!" he shouted, but then...well that wasn't fair, was it? Especially since he was a professor, and Mr. Bellaire was just as sweet as David. "And BLAISE TOO" yep. Fairness to all!
He looked around to see who else was dueling...anyone else, eh?

Hady was here!
She HAD to come to watch the Finals. Of course she would be cheering everyone on buuuutttttt she'd be doing a little more cheering for certain someones...namely a bestie, a dorm mate and a big brother as well as said brothers boyfriend.
Speaking of big brothers there was Adi! Hady instantly made her way to him in the stands nudging him gently in the side with her elbow. "Hey!" she greeted grinning up at him. Oh and we see you too Professor Myers! Waves were sent his way along with a smile.
Her excitement was somewhat uncontainable and the fourth year was bouncing on her feet beside Adi as she turned her attention to the duelists. She just hoped no one got injured or anything extreme like that.

Ahh. It looked like Mr. Baines was done! His hands were up--were his ears still kumquats? Paul hoped BOTH boys were all right, though that duel had been PARTICULARLY interesting because both were quite SKILLED in his opinion.
He was munching on his popcorn so quickly that he found he was...halfway OUT? HOW COULD THIS BE? The bucket was ENORMOUS? Was he THAT into the duels that he was munching away without even REALIZING it? Oh no...the butter was going to hurt his stomach later >.<
BAH!
"Well done, everyone!" you know, in general, to all the people dueling and whatnot.
He waved back at Hady, giving her a smile and offering her the bucket. "Want some, m'dear?"
