If there was a lesson he was willing to go to, it was this one. Learning how to defeat some dark creatures, learning some new spells and there was the added bonus of the SUN and WARMTH in this lesson. It felt like he was in Greece all over again.

Smirking at the memory, Grayson made his way down towards the arena where the class was going to be held. The warmth was welcomed, even embraced by the fifth year as he stepped into the arena. "Hey Professor!" he called, waving at her, "Greece was nice." Dude had some questions, actually. Questions about said field trip and what had happened towards the end of it but he'd leave that for now.

Instead, he headed right over towards that mat over there which had a ray of light shining on it. It took a lot from him to not spread himself out and lay back on his elbows, like he would if he was at the beach and trying to soak up the sun. Shame that they were in a classroom and social etiquette was a thing. A stupid thing but a thing. He did, however, pull out his writing equipment and placed it onto the small desk near him.

Enjoy the sun? Well, you don't need to tell him twice.

Maddison was excited. She'd been doing lots of reading about Defensive spells on her own thanks to Dora and had been itching for this lesson since she'd arrived back at Hogwarts. This being the reason the second year wore a smile as she entered the classroom, pleased with how warm and inviting it was. Unsuspecting just the way it should be. Maddie was naturally still on her toes. Always be prepared.

"Hello Professor!" Hello mechanical bird. Maddie wondered if Romanos was against live pets for a reason. Perhaps she wasn't good at keeping them alive what with her busy schedule. Perhaps.

Spotting Grayson, the brunette smirked. He'd be entertaining enough and maybe she'd get to hex him if the class went in that direction. Here's hoping. Maddie strolled right on over to the boy, purposely blocking his light while she dropped her bag. She then flopped down on the mat beside him and got comfy. "Snake." Hello.

The only other person in the classroom was...Grayson. GREAT. JUST WHO CALEB WANTED TO SEE [/sarcasm] Rolling his eyes as he entered, he tried to ignore him and smiled at Romanos, greeting her with a polite "Hello Professor" before taking a seat on a mat near the front. He began taking out his writing utensils and placing them on his desk, trying at all costs to avoid Grayson's eye as much as was humanly possible.

There was another young Ravenclaw girl there too, but Caleb wasn't about to try and talk to HER, being young and all. And also a Ravenclaw.

Well this was a nice room. You would think since this is Defense Against The Dark Arts. It would be a cool and dark place. Or just dark. Since it is the Dark Arts. But what did dante know he was only eleven. Ah, there was the Professor. With a mechanical bird just running around her. That is what it looked like to Dante. Weird.

"How Goes It, Professor"

Uh, he was early. Way too many seats to choose from. Or mats in this class. Why mats. Where they going to wrestle or something. So he took a seat staring at the purple mat.

Hady had no idea what to expect as she entered the room behind a few others. Instantly she felt the sunshine hit her face through the windows and was amazed at how bright it was in the room.

Looking around the young Slytherin walked further into the room and smiled at the Professor. "Good morning Professor!" She chirped sweetly taking notice to the uh mechanical bird? Hmm alright that was cool.

Spotting an empty purple mat near the front by a few other Snakes she sat herself down. Setting her bag down beside her she began taking out her textbook, quill and some parchment for when she might need it.

Ughh this lesson was too early. He didn't sleep well last night because it was one of those nights for the life of you that you can't sleep. He started rubbing his eyes and yawning. He got his coffee since he was close to the kitchens anyways being the puff he was he used his resources. As he made his way to the classroom, he realized only a few people were here for this early lesson. Maybe they were catching last minute naps? He saw there was mats on the floor and he would be using those to sleep on before class start.

He noticed the professor was there and he nodded and said, "Good morning Professor..." He was being nice this morning and he usually wasn't a morning person at all. He sat down on his mat and closed his eyes and just relaxed.

And DADA was back in action. Humming to himself, Adi eagerly made his way into the Arena. "Hallo, Professor. You're looking great.'' She always did. Or everyone looked great these days. Hehe.

Adi glanced around. None of his close friends seemed to have arrived there as yet bur he did see Grayson, Caleb and Kace. They each got a wave and grin before Adi stalked off to find himself a mat.

Zander was actually debating about showing up to class today. Not because he didn't like showing up to Defense Against the Dark Arts- ahem- but because uhm... After last term and the Romanos thing. Uh. Awkward. PLUS, though he had apologized to her at the end of term, it was mostly the liquid luck okay!! It really was. Hmph. And had you SEEEN that yearbook superlative she got? HMMMM? Granted, he got one too, BUT Sophie Brown said it was only a joke because people thought it'd be funny. He wasn't returning as a Cold One.

Annnnnyyyyyyyyyywaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyssssss... So the walk into class was more than a bit uncomfortable. And he wasn't really sure about what he was supposed to do when he saw the Professor. Uhum. Instead of saying anything, Zander just walked up to her and just sort of "Uh." and then he did a mumbling thing that was supposed to sound like a hello.... But uh.... Yeah. Awkward.

Now where to sit...

NAP TIME!

Or, y'know Defence Against the Dark Arts.

With yoga mats. Aka blankets. Aka nap time.

Kyroh quickly made his way into the room, unsure if he was late or not. Ever since his visit with Dora over the summer he had made SURE to use the hair products she had given him to comb his hair. And doing that took way more time then just rolling out of bed and doing nothing at all to his hair. It was a hard process to get used to.

Gazing through the door a wave of relief over came him when he realized that he wasn't late at all. He was early. YEAH! "HI PROFESSOR! Bodie! Grayson!!" Dante got a wave too! Kyroh made his way to the front and heisted before sitting down next to a Slytherin boy. He wouldn't be another Cutty would he? "Hullo!" He gave him a small wave before throwing his book bag on the mat on the OTHER side of him. THAT spot was saved for Dima.

What was that little things name again...Sonya? Cutty couldn't remember as he entered the Defense class and found a seat from which he could view the entire class as he always did whenever there was an opportunity to do so. He'd been watching Sophie Brown all term long and he found her endlessly fascinating. The faces she'd make. It was like, she was always feeling something. Always emotionally stimulated. How could that even be possible?

"Hello, Professor Romanos." He greeted sitting lotus position as if preparing for a yoga-centric class period. "I think yer bird is over stimulated."

Good lord why was it SO BRIGHT in here? Maleficent covered her eyes with her cloak as she entered, wishing they wouldn't be forced and rounded into such uncomfortable areas. She was just about tired of being told where to go now that she was free but an event was an event and she wouldn't be missing those.

"Greetings greetings, yes, I have arrived. Hold all applause til the very end." It was simply tedious having to present herself in a modest fashion so often.

She sauntered gracefully to the front of the room, to where the woman she assumed to be in charge sat. "You, my dear, happen to be in my seat." If one was going to rule, they needed the seat of power and to get that, one must unseat the previous sitter. This didn't take a lot of thinking.

The Mistress of ALL Evil tossed a lock of her now darkened hair over her shoulder in an idly gesture that she didn't want to be kept waiting. Ahem.

This was ridiculous. Angel was having a complete melt down over being "hot" and AJ was left to pick up the pieces. Poor Benny had to be confused as all heck about what was going on. Then again, the Valentine sisters have been known to be crazy so for all he knows, this was just another day in the life of the Valentine's. Next time though, AJ would wait until after the pair left to come to classes.

They were walking just fine, and once they arrived at the entrance of the classroom Angel flipped. "Stop it," she called back to her identical sister. "You can't not come to class just because you're mental." Benny should have been the one to bring Angel in, but he was too sweet to drag her, and AJ had absolutely no problem doing just that.

Holding on to her sister's arm, she drug her into the classroom. If Benny wanted to grab her other arm that would be great. "Hello professor." Nothing to see here... just helping a sista out! Her eyes landed on Adi, and she drug Angel that direction. "Hey," she said as she plopped herself down on a purple mat beside the boyfriend, which made Angel plop down beside her as well. "Don't ask," she said to Adi.

As Lux entered the classroom, she smiled at the professor. "Hello, Professor Romanos. I hope you are well."

Spotting Kace, Adi, and Grayson she gave them friendly waves and smiles. But Zander only got a brief glance before she looked away, pretending that he didn't exist.

Taking her seat, she wondered where her boyfriend was when she noticed Lex. Scooting farther away from the Head Girl, she wanted to keep as much distance as possible from her.

Defense against the dark arts was soooo not one of his better classes. So Ben wasn't all that enthused about the upcoming class. Though Professor Romanos wasn't that bad as a professor, she was one of the nicer ones. Despite what was said in the yearbook. Now the healer...maybe. Or even Culloden. But he agreed to go with Angel to the lesson, if only something had gone wrong.

Making his way downstairs with his bag of his textbook, note parchements and quill, AND the two sisters, the fourth year stepped into the DADA classroom not surprised to see nothing much had changed from last term. The mats were certainly still there. "Good day, Professor," he greeted, acknowledging her presence as he walked further inside. Following AJ and Angel since they were headed towards his best friend anyway, he took a seat on the mat beside Adi.

"Hey..."

Way. Too. Early. Norah stifled a yawn as she walked through the door. It was far too early for skipping. Or excitement. She wasn't even enjoying the purple-ness of the mats. Sigh. The second year greeted the professor with a quiet "Good morning," and headed towards the nearest mat. She dropped down her bag and flopped onto the ground, pulling her wand, a quill, and parchment out of her bag just in case they needed to take notes. Hopefully they wouldn't 'cause THAT would definitely result in an impromptu nap time. Speaking of naps, that sounded like a good idea.

Time for another class. By now, Brooklyn didn’t have any clue what to expect, but she wasn’t afraid. She didn’t get afraid. That meant showing she was weak, and she refused to do that. Everyone else could act weird and everything, just like had happened in History of Magic. There weren’t any requests to make an entrance here, so she just walked in, blinking as the sunlight hit her after the dimness of the corridor. Then, she ended up blinking again as she noticed the lack of desks. They had to sit on the floor? That didn’t seem right, even in a class where she would have assumed there would be a lot of activity. Defense was in the title after all, but sitting on the floor just seemed wrong. Although they at least had mats, which she was going to assume weren’t all dusty and icky.

The only people she really knew that were already there were Hady and Dante, and sort of Grayson the prefect stealer. After Astronomy, anyway, but she’d never spoken to him. Therefore he didn’t count yet, and she made her way over to a mat near Hady. “Good morning professor,” she said to the woman at the front, taking a seat instead of curtsying, and eyeing the hooded figure up reprimanding the professor about taking her seat. That wasn’t very royal, even if she was acting like it was. Besides, there wasn’t a throne anywhere, just all these mats. It was just weird.

“Hi Hady.” At least she was normal.

Adi had just began to flip through his text book just to pass the time when he happened to glance up. Oh looky. Three Gryffindors in tow- Benny, AJ and Angel. Hello, hello, people. Adi eyed them as they approached him. Erm...why was AJ holding onto Angel? He opened his mouth to ask just that but AJ shot him down. Maybe Benny would help him out. "Hey, AJ,'' the Puffer said instead.

"Benny,'' he whispered. "Hey. What's up with Angel?'' Because Benny was her boyfriend. He would probably know what was up. Oh looky. It was Luxand Nola! "Hey!'' Adi said to them as he gave both a wave.

As more people entered the room Hady looked up to see if there was anyone she knew. Or well more like anyone whom she'd actually really spoken with yet. Not seeing anyone just yet she shifted on the purple mat and enjoyed the sun on her face.

Turning to look out one of the windows the best she could her attention snapped back to where she was when she heard her name. She remembered the voice even before she turned to look at Brooklyn. "Morning Brooklyn." She greeted warmly. At least it was someone she knew a little bit.

BRAAAAAAAAAAAH.

This class was off the hook, man. It had a nice vibe to it. Very hipster with the yoga mats and whatnot. Cool, he was down with that hipster thing. He could jive to that.

With a proper bounce to his step W Hughbert flounced into the room and saluted the Professor lady. Whatta do, lady?

He wasn't going to ask that though. Women made him nervous.

And PLOP. He was in his seat. Leggo.

Walking alongside Thornton, the little first year he'd just met in the corridor, Toby entered the classroom and eyed the purple mats. At least, this year, yoga was probably something he was much more capable of doing. So that was something.

The Hufflepuff looked down at Thornton. "We almost always sit on yoga mats in this class. It's like... Professor Romanos' thing." Heh.

Toby led the way over towards the mats and to his usual spot right at the side of the room by the wide-open windows, and took a seat on one of them, glad to find that the spot next to him was still free for the young Ravenclaw, because he'd promised to help him out and stuff, of course, if he needed.

"Hi Professor Romanos," Toby finally greeted the woman, giving her a friendly little salute before setting up to take notes and stuff. Was he a little more subdued and less bouncy today?

Quite possibly.

Most likely.

Yes.

Thornton followed Toby quite closely as they entered the room, eyes widening at the yoga mats. What was it with professors here and their hatred of traditional desks? At least the room had sun.

He forced a smile at the professor when Toby greeted her but then spied Lex up at the front, and froze. Whatever was going on with her, he wanted to steer clear. Blinking, he tried to clear his thoughts, and saw that Toby had moved over to a spot by the window.

He hurried over, claiming the open space, and dug into his extended bag, pulling out his quill and inks, ready to take notes.

"Thanks for.. uh, getting me in here," he said, softly, as he settled onto the mat.

Ian waited as long as he could. He reluctantly made his way to the arena. He greeted the professor, found the first empty mat and sat in it, looking at no one else. He had determined after his discussion with his head of house he couldn't avoid going to classes the whole term.

As he sat on the mat, he was grateful to experience something beside the cold darkness of the corners he had stuck to. He stretched out his legs and then bent his body over his legs and reached out to stretch his back and leg muscles.

This was another one of those lessons that he was SUPER looking forward to. Perhaps in part because he wanted to make Emily proud, but also because it sounded like it would be super cool regardless of anyone elses opinions. Defense ... Dark Arts.... those things oozed awesome, and they were BOTH in the title of this class.

Following some of the other students into the classroom, Zeke first noticed the mats, and then the Professor with a weird... was that a bird?... thing ... yeah this was already more interesting than History of Magic. "Good morning Professor," he greeted as he decided to claim himself a mat too. She was leading by example no? This is what they were supposed to do?

With his bag on the desk thing next to his mat, Zeke plopped down and stretched himself out, laying back until his head was resting against the mat and he was staring up at the ceiling. From here he could see everything, and a short way away, he could see Lex.

"HI LEX!" he called to her, waving.

Why were there mats on the floor? Could they take naps? Nap class? At Durmstrang, Dark Arts had been a really hard, stressful class, but apparently Hogwarts countered the Dark Arts with prolonged naps. Dot paused next to one of the purple mats and glanced at the professor for guidance.

"Hullo, Professor." Dot seated herself primly on her purple mat and then sprawled out on her stomach. Plank pose. Nap pose.
