Anyone with eyes would have been able to tell the Gryffindor was dragging her feet as she walked along to Ancient Runes class. That's how she'd been walking to most classes recently; no haste, no pep in her step, just quiet resignation. She would have to go to class whether she wanted to or not and there would be teaching whether she wanted it to happen or not.

"Good morning Professor." Came her distant greeting as she trailed her gaze along the desks, looking for her own. Of course she already knew where it was but the 'search' provided good enough distraction in the moment.

After taking a seat, she glanced back at the rest of the room before turning to the Professor again. "Did the back of the class get robbed? Was it the book no one believes me about?" It possessed to furniture to hop and sing like in the story of the Beast and that girl--but of course she wouldn't say it out loud because the last time she did, it turned out to be true and she wasn't prepared to sit through a class of singing desks and chairs.

Nope.

Kace made his way to Ancient Runes and as he came into the classroom, he noticed he was the second one in the room. He noticed Alexa was there and he gave her a friendly wave. He noticed the Professor was here and he smiled and greeted him with a "Hello Professor.." then he went to his desk and looked for his name tag. Once he found his nametag, he sat down at the desk and got his notebook out and began to doodle and wait for class to begin. Maybe his friends would come in eventually.

By this point, Toby should know exactly where he desk was, having sat in the same place for Merlin knew how long. And yet, every lesson he still had to sort of hunt around for a little while, or at least a few moments, until he found it. It took a little longer than usual today, but hopefully that just meant that all his OWL studying was pushing other information right out of his head; that was a nice, positive way of seeing things.

But he did find his seat, sat down, and got out his things from his bag as he finally looked up and gave Botros a little smile.

"Hey Professor. Nice day for it." Tobias wasn't really paying much attention to what he was saying, or whether it really was a 'nice day for it', he only knew that he'd heard it said a bunch of times before and it sounded pleasant enough to use now. The Hufflepuff said, setting his bag on the floor and kicking it under his chair before taptaptapping his quill and the fingers of his free hand on the desk, waiting.

Ancient runes. Zhenya was awful at this subject, she found it hard and co fusing, but it was still something she had to learn. She walked in to the familiar room, not that she had been there for 5 or so years. It looked... Empty. She saw the professor and approached him, "Hello professor," Zhenya said as she walked past.

She noticed there were names on the desks, and she set about finding hers. She saw it, it was empty, and she sat down.

Jasmine made it to Arithmancy class on time. Looking around she realized that she was more than on time, given she small number of students that were present already. Walking to her assigned desk, she paused to greet the Professor. "Hello Professor Botros", she said. Thank goodness he still appeared to be Professor Botros and hadn't reverted back to the King of the Sea.

Once at her desk, Jasmine sat down and began to unpack her bag. When she had retrieved all of her necessary materials, she sat back in her chair. She figured that she could amuse herself by watching the arrival of the rest of the class.

It was starting to get to that time of the year where being relaxed and having no homework or nothing to worry about was a freaking luxury and every second of it was as precious as a drop of Felix Felicis. No joke. And getting out of bed? As difficult as ever. Maybe even MORE difficult now, if that was possible.

When were the summer holidays again?

Stifling the smallest of yawns, Grayson made his way into the classroom and took a look around. Nothing different here? Good. Apart from the back of the classroom which seemed to have disappeared for some magical reason. Was he gonna pay attention to that? Nope. There was probably some sort of explanation for it, anyways. Like there had been for the plants during the previous lesson.

"Hey, Professor," he said, giving the man a small smile and a nod as he made his way to his seat. Sitting down, the fifth year took out his essentials before sitting back in his seat. Ready, yo.

Angel smiled as she walked into the room. "Good day Professor." Angel then went and found her seat before she sat down and waited for the lesson to start... she was very quiet because that was what the sign said to do and she didn't want to get into trouble.

Ancient Runes...not one of Adi's strongest subjects but he was here, never the less. He had gotten accustomed to the way things went for this class in terms of seating. "Hello, Professor.'' A nice cheery smile for the Deputy Head.

Adi grinned at his friends as he in no time located his name tag and desk. Now to wait for the lesson to begin.

Okaay so he didn't remember the one lesson at all...just managed to get through the other class. Benny was hoping his luck was improving as far as ancient runes lessons was concerned. That would be good news for him. Stepping into the classroom he noticed the professor and some students including his bestie and girlfriend already there. And that he was still on time which was certainly good.

"Good day, Professor," he greeted, the day so far so good for himself. If only the mystery was solved though. Moving to find his nametag and seat he offered a small smile to Adi and Angel. "Hey," he said before taking the spot labeled his own for the duration of the lesson. Time to be ready for what was to come.

Ruuuuuuuuuuuunes.

Still the enemy.

The subject still wasn't as difficult as Transfiguration proved to be for her, and she WAS getting better with it, but Sophie didn't think she would feel good about her progress in Runes until she felt she knew as much as Tobes. Which... probably would never happen, as he was like the Runes MASTER.

The fourth year smiled at the sight of Botros, happy to see him as always, and gave him a little wave of her hand as she greeted, "G'day, professor. Hope you're well." And she did. The grandfather to all wasn't going to die during her time at school, she would make sure of that. Even if that meant she'd have to sacrifice herself for him. She would do that for him, if Tobes didn't first.

Finding her seat, she got out her materials for class and flashed a smile to Tobes, Kace, and Jasmine. Hi, friends. Hi.

Time for another Ancient Eunes lesson. It seemed like no time had passed since the last one, but then there was a chunk of time that Lux couldn't remember. So that probably had a lot to do with it.

Entering the classroom she gave waves to Kace, Jasmine, Grayson, Angel, and Adi. She was happy to see her friends again, but she really wished her boyfriend was there; she missed her Lion. Hopefully he would arrive soon. Taking a seat in her assigned spot, she smiled at Botros. "Hello, Professor." Hopefully this lesson wouldn't be too hard because she had a feeling she was starting to understand the subject better.

After the last Runes lesson Cinna was kind of a little more open to the subject. Even as hard as if was to understand a lot mmm most of it. She did enjoy healing the plant.

Cinna made here way into the runes classroom. She walked in an give the professor a small smile. "Hello, Professor!"

She went and headed over to her desk with her name tag on it and waited for the lesson to start.

Ancient runes. Penelope was interested in this class, although she didn't entirely understand how everything worked. "Good day, Professor." The back of the classroom looked liked it had been cleared for an activity or something. She headed over to her desk and got out a quill and parchment for taking notes.

Ancient Runes time, yep yep. Not that she was especially excited about it. Just that it was a fact of life. Hopefully, Professor Botros would let them go outside, since it was a nice spring day.

Walking into the classroom, the first thing that Heather noticed was the clear spot in the back of the class. What was that for? Were they doing something that required the room, or did Botros just feel like rearranging the furniture? Probably for a reason, since their desks were still in the same spots with the same name tags on. Speaking of which, she quickly found hers and sat, greeting the man at the front with a "Hello, professor."

Ah. Runes. It was a testy subject, this one.

Zander actually wasn't sure how he felt about it. It wasn't as straining as Arithmancy. Not as taxing on the magic front as Defence Against the Dark Arts. It fell kind of in between on the scale. The scale of subjects that he was absolutely miserable at. So like on a scale of 1-10, 1 being terrible and 10 being the worst ever in the entire universe, Zander was like a 6.5 at Runes. A solid 6.5 and sometimes 6.5andthreequartersofahundreth.

So, he walked in exactly how you'd imagine someone who was a 6.5andthreequartersofahundreth in this subject would walk in. Like normal really. Looking around he noticed how a lot of the seats were starting to be filled, so without wasting any time he greeted the Professor with a quick, "Hello," and ran off to find his assigned seat.

You'd think that after being in the same assigned seat for almost a whole term, he'd actually remember where it was. Nope.

Zeke was... tired. That was the BEST way to describe how he was feeling. Tired. Tired of classes, homework, study and just.. everything right now. He was tired.

Shuffling to the front of the class, he offered Professor Botros a meek smile and sat in his assigned seat.

Could today be over already?

He wasn't even particularly interested in the obvious space in today's lesson, he just wanted to go back to the dorms and stuff chocolate frogs in his face while in bed. THAT was his plan.

Samantha entered the classroom and her eyes quickly fell upon the layout of the room. She raised her eyebrows in slight interest for a mere second.

"Hello, Professor," she greeted her teacher as she made her way to her assigned desk. She sat down and retrieved the necessary items out of her schoolbag.

... huh? Botros was nodding to his students as they walked in, returning their greetings with one of his own and a small smile. "No, dear. We're going to use it for something important at the end of class." He answered Cambridge, ignoring her never-ending complaining attitude.

Once they all were seated, Ab closed the class' door with a flick of his wand and turned to the students. "Good morning everyone and welcome to yet another one of my lessons. Today, I opted to talk about something more practical concerning the Runes magic." He reached the blackboard and wrote 'Occupational Uses of Runic Magic'. "As everyone knows, once you graduate your schools and finish your education, you're going to start working your desired jobs using what you learnt in school." He leaned on his desk and asked. "Runic magic is ancient, very powerful, and trickier to tame than our wand magic. Can anyone guess what occupation would benefit most from using Runic magic? And how?" Hmm? Don't forget to raise your hand.

Angel listen to the Professor and then she raised her hand. "Professor I'd say a curse breaker because they are going to be going into ancients pyramid which might have some runes signs that you have to figure out." Angel wasn't sure if she was right but well they did go into Ancient places.

Adi gave a wave to Lux as she entered the classroom after he mouthed 'hey' back to Benny. Now, where was Botros? The lesson should be starting soon, right? He looked around.

Oh! There was the man. Heeeey, Professor. Adi listened to the man as he started the class. Well, he had no desire to do anything pertaining to Runes. Anyway, careers where using Runes would be most beneficial...only one came to mind and Angel had already given it.

Curse Breaking is what Adi had thought about. No use repeating the answer so the Puffer sat quietly. For now.

The thought of graduating and going on to do other things had never really made Toby all that nervous, as he already knew exactly what he was going to do. Or, well... what wanted to do. But as he inched ever closer to graduating, Tobias couldn't help but get more of those intrusive 'but what if you can't do it' thoughts. He pushed them away, of course, and tried not to think about the possibility of not getting into professional Quidditch, but sometimes the subject of the future was brought up when he least expected it and it kind of threw him, just a little bit.

Once again, Toby ignored allllll of those unsure thoughts, and focused very very hard on the positive, which he was finding a lot easier again these days (thank Merlin). It was fine, everything would work out, and life would be fun.

The Hufflepuff thought about the question for a moment after that younger girl answered, before he too raised his hand.

"I think curse-breaking too, like that would benefit most. But also what about,maybe... an Ancient Runes professor?" Toby tried with a big smile on his face, waggling his fingers as he held his hand in the air. Super serious answer, but also one he hoped might elicit a smile from some people. "'Cause, like, you need to teach the magic to people who might become curse-breakers, after all, so you'd need to demonstrate it and so that means you benefit from using it."

Kace heard the class was starting and wondered what jobs could benefit from using rune magic. He thought curse breaking would benefit using the runes but he was trying to think about what other jobs. He could not think of any other one and besides the teacher said occupation so it could mean only one. But how could curse breakers benefit from this?

Kace raised his hand and answered, "Professor I think the curse breakers could benefit learning about the runes because knowing me I wouldn't want to have any curses put upon me plus you don't want to give the wrong information because that can end badly." I mean think about it if you gave the wrong rune to someone and they translate it completely different. That would not end well.

Oh no.

OH SWEET MERLIN, NO!

They were talking about jobs and the future? Grayson deadpanned as he looked over at the Professor. This was great. Just great. Just what he needed after all those letters from his mum, which were stuffed at the back of his drawer and out of sight. Had he looked at it since he had taken it with him to see Culloden? No. Had his mum sent more? Yes.

Teachers, man.

Letting out the smallest of groans, the Slytherin leaned forwards slightly and buried his head in the palms of his hands. Concentrate on the question, Whitty. Nothing else. And what was the question? What occupation can benefit most from the use of Runic magic. Someone had mentioned curse breaking which, in all honesty, he hadn't really thought of. Shame.

Another answer? Looking up again, Grayson raised his hand up in the air. "Archaeologists have to deal with ancient artefacts and whatnot. They'll need to know what the runic symbols on them mean and would need to know if the item they're dealing with has a curse on it or not. Dead useful."

What occupation would benefit MOST from using runic magic? Well... certainly, yeah, everyone knew that a curse breaker needed extensive knowledge of runes to be successful with their job. Tobes' answer made her smile, and Grayson's made plenty of sense, too, sure.

What ELSE could she offer up, though? She didn't need runes for potions, but Ira Banner HAD said she needed to be really good at Ancient Runes to become a Wandmaker... why, exactly, she wasn't COMPLETELY sure, but... she didn't think it was worth offering up to Botros, especially since she couldn't elaborate on her answer well enough to make it believable.

So maybe she didn't have anything worthwhile to offer.

That was okay. She had notes to write down anyway, so that's what she did.
