Once you've made your entrance, you can choose which table to sit at from the wide central walk space running up to the staff dais. The floor has been polished over the summer to a sheen so shiny that you can see your own appearance in it. Awesome!
Delilah leaned against the wall and sighed. No one would believe that she'd been quite looking forward to these lessons. Yes, surprising right? But, she was felt so tired and that made her rather grumpy.. and yeah. Now, she was pretty much having the worst time of her life. Meh.
.. Wait. She was seriously starting to wonder if she could sneak out without anyone noticing. It was possible, yeah? She adjusted the strap of her gown and looked around for a moment. Yeah, no one was looking at her. It would be possible but the risk..

Those were two words that no one has ever said about her in her life. "Errr, thanks, guys. Enjoy this while you can, because it won't last for long." Yeah, she was not sure when she would be dressed like this again. "You both look great yourselves!" Beaming, she gave them both a thumbs up.
Suddenly she remembered something. "Oh, sorry, Bay. We aren't supposed to pick partners now." Boy, she felt silly! "But we can dance together for another one, I'm sure."
Tobias had seen Cutty start to make towards him, but didn't really make the effort to literally meet him half way. He just sort of sat there, taking a break, and staring at the tents. It was probably a good idea to go and get changed, though Tobias wasn't too enthusiastic about the House colours thing. Yellow was not a colour that looked good on Toby, and it was difficult to find clothes in gold that didn't look tacky, especially in boys' clothes. At least they had black as a house colour, which was by far the easiest colour to find clothes in. These were the things Tobias had learnt as he became more and more aware of the clothes he wore.
Still, he was rested now and feeling like less of a grump, so Toby heaved himself to his feet, feeling as though his body weighed a thousand pounds, and made his way into the Hufflepuff boys' tent. He took a while to rifle through the stuff, but eventually found something that was smart, not bad looking, and in his size, too. Good job he got to it before any first years nabbed it. The Hufflepuff dressed in his chosen suit and emerged from the tent, moving his arms a little to make sure he had room to move. Right yes okay. This would do nicely.

Alec nodded in response but said nothing else. He smiled over at Delilah too, for caring. As... long as she was okay. Both of them. He, however, was dreading the idea of going back to the dancing. The Cupid's Shuffle was a little too fast for him, you know. And he really wasn't that great at moving his feet in time to the--
... Suits?!
The boy blinked a little and watched as people went from the dance floor and over towards various cubicles. Maybe this was a good thing. No more Cupid's Shuffle, you know. Maybe they were going to dance to something that was slower and more up the boy's alley. ... Which... thinking about it, would be... no dancing at all. Or slow dancing. He didn't mind slow dancing.
Stuffing his hands in his pockets, the seventh year ambled up to the boy's changing room and disappeared inside.

After a short while -- hair, you know -- Alec emerged from the changing room, loosening his tie just a little. There were yellow suits in there, sure, but they had been a little too... bright for the boy's liking. Yellow, you know. But a yellow tie was fine, right? Along with a matching pocket square that was sitting in the pocket of his blazer. Plus, black was a much safer option.
Sarah resumed her search, more dresses were taken out, looked at before replaced. This was time consuming, yet fun. Sarah looked at another dress, this one a gold dress.. Nope, she was not going to wear a gold dress, as that got dirty faster than a red one did, and things showed more on it.
Finally, she found it. The dress she had been looking for, a red ballgown. The red bodice was tight around her waist, accentuating her hour-glass figure, and ended in a V by her hips, from there the dress continued in red tulle all the way down. The sleeves of the dress started as a poof and then went down into long, beaded sleeves. The beads were gold. The bodice of the dress also was beaded and embroidered in gold beads and thread.
Sarah slipped on the dress, moving her body in the way that she was able to do the hooks at the back halfway before getting help from a friend. She twirled in her dress,.

Theo smiled at Professor Flamsteed. It had the be the first smile that he had ever gotten from Theo, so maybe... take a picture or something. He bounced on the spot a little when the Cupid's Shuffle was wrapped up and readied himself for the next part of the class. Dressing up? Awwwww, here we go... they were getting into the serious stuff now. Partner panic was soon to set in.
He gave his hair a little ruffle then made his way over to the Slytherin boys changing area. House colours was totally okay with him.
Oooooh, nice suits. Theo chose the first one he came across and pulled it on. He made sure it was all smoothed down and sharp-looking before he went back to join the others. And of course, he gave his hair another ruffle. Once he returned to the main hall, Theo's eyes danced over all the possible partners, especially Dora.

Terry gave Andrew a nod of acknowledgement when he told him his name, making sure to store it in his memory although whether they would interact again was a completely different matter. He was about to open his mouth to say something when the Professor reminded him to clear enough space around him when he was dancing.

Terry hadn't actually gone anywhere! Andrew had shuffled his way over to him and got into his pathway. It was his fault. He frowned in protest but didn't say anything at all. Instead he turned back to Ana who was teaching him the next step.
He watched her intently, remembering which way to twist and turn. Just as he stepped back in order to practice it, Professor Flamstead announced that they would be moving on to other dances. To partner work. Ana would be his partner yes?
She rushed off into the changing rooms and the sixth year entered his own a little hesitantly. Green suits could be a bit of an odd one. Some people looked great in them, others looked absolutely terrible. Terry wasn't sure which category he would fit in to. He headed in, picked out a suit and put it on, charming it so that it would be a perfect fit. He glanced briefly in the mirror, shrugged a bit and headed back out once more to find where Ana had gone.
Only to see that she had wandered over to West. Oh. Great.

Instead the Slytherin stood alone at the side of the dance floor until he could find someone else to dance with. Or just to talk to. Anyone really.

There was a reason for that, said Olly. Well, Schuyler just grinned and shook her head. "Crazy girl." Really, Olly could wear a bucket on her head and Schuyler would still think her just as insanely attractive. But she didn't mention this because that might hinder the chances of seeing Olly in a dress.
Now, the Lions' changing rooms. First things first: dresses. There was actually a pretty decent selection here, and Schuyler wondered where the dresses had come from in the first place.
As she perused, she found that Sarah found a nice red one for herself. "Ooh, looks good, Sarah. I like the embroidery." Just that touch of gold. They really did luck out, having scarlet as a house color. Red was bold and sexy and a very excellent choice of color in dresses. She imagined Olly would choose a black dress, maybe with yellow accents. Who in their right mind would choose yellow over black? In winter, as a ball gown, that is. Yellow summer dresses were quite lovely. But yes, black would suit Olly best.
She glanced over at Alice. "And how's your dress hunt going, Captain?" The girl was probably only halfheartedly browsing the selection. Somehow Schuyler believed that at least some of her thoughts were focused on how she might evacuate the premises inconspicuously. Did she know that if she tried leaving this changing room in anything other than something dressy and fancy that Schuyler would probably go all American football on her and tackle her bum to the ground? She would. Really. It's not like Airey or the professors were in here to stop her.

She skipped over to the changing room and bounced inside, looking over all the dresses carefully. Green and silver, that was her. Green and silver. She sifted through her choices and eventually found one that she quite liked. Pretty green and silver.
After emerging from the changing room once again, Caterina twirled to test out the way her dress moved. Lovely! This was going to be soooo fun!

Schuyler grabbed the few suits that she did see and hoarded them beneath her arm. And none for Alice Fischer, bye. "I've found some very nice dresses, though."
With her free hand, she pushed away some of the lame dresses to show off some of the GOOD ones.
Oichi heard Professor Flamsteed address her and invite her back into the lesson if she felt up to it. She felt good that he cared to approach her rather then just ignore her to the healer got there. She decided to try and get back into the dance lesson. She slowly got up. "Professor, I'm gonna try to get back into this dance lesson. But please try to keep an eye on me if we are doing fast dances because I reslly don't want to accidentally be trampled.". With that she headed back to the dance floor hoping to have a little fun after what happened.

Olly's frown was so deeply etched into her face that it probably looked like it was permanent. It might have been. She HAD gotten a little more wrinkly lately. Probably all related to that strange aging thing. What WAS up with that anyway? Couldn't anyone stop it? What were the professors here for anyway?
APPARENTLY to make them wear dresses.
Though her eyes didn't immediately go to the dresses when she'd reached the dressing room, Olly did eventually look at them. Great. Just great. Was there anything else she could wear? This lovely plastic bag for instance. She stared at it for a second before focusing her attention back to the dresses.
Huuuh. Changing rooms? She had not noticed those. She was so busy complaining in her head that...oh crud. What did she get herself into? Silver was so going to get it. But not now. She was tired and...she couldn't FIND Silver. Not cool.
Dressing up. Yay. Woohoo. Yes, she was being sarcastic in her mind because her so-call friend bailed or something.
With a loud sigh the third year dragged her feet toward one of the dressing rooms. Lets see what they had in store for her. Hopefully not too girly. She didn't do that. Jeans and boots, those were her thing.
Wishful thinking much?
Though she could go for some really comfortable sweats and an oversize shirt right about now.
And there were dresses everywhere. Grumble. Curse. Grumble.

Schuyler was in a state of denial herself, between the gray hairs that she'd plucked from her head and the slight rheumatisms she couldn't help but notice. At least she wasn't cracking yet.
Sleeves? "You'll get hot with sleeves." So that was a no. Unless it was a pretty sleeved dress that was form-fitting and maybe had a scooped neck or an attractive cut.

Rubbing her knee and trying to refrain from cracking anything else, Alice grumpily tugged the dresses off her head with her free hand and examined them. Where were the sleeves? "I'll get cold without them," she insisted, frowning at the clothes Schuyler had approved. "These don't even have proper straps. It'll fall off."
And what was Schuyler looking at? That was a pretty dress. It'd look nice on her.
But while she examined that, Alice was just going to... inch back over to those suits. Mhm.

"You'll warm up when you dance." And then no coldness. See? Problem solved. As for the no straps, well.. yes. That was the point. "This one has a strap. And this one has two." So there. She couldn't complain that Schuyler hadn't provided her with some tasteful variety.
She took the dress that she wanted for herself. Though she hadn't abandoned those suits either, by the way. Not until Alice was in a dress. She set them down riiiight by her while she changed out of her robes.

"Hi," she said simply upon reaching him, giving him one of her best smiles, and noting that his suit was quite well fitting. It suited him.
It was interesting watching to see who was coming out wearing what, and who was taking more care and who was just throwing on whatever they came across first. Ana definitely wasn't one of the latter right? She looked nice. He gave her a friendly smile.
"Hey. I guess we'll see if Flammy will let us have a dance together huh?" He had said he would dance with her.... y'know, when he'd been sure his own girlfriend wouldn't show up since this really wasn't (unfortunately) Alice's thing.
"You look lovely in green."

Tessa had definitely gotten the steps down... now it was on to the kicking part. Looking around the room she saw the general height that the kicks should be. Low was best- she didn't think she could kick any higher than her knee without breaking something. She used to be so much more flexible...
Okay, there was the turn... Starting from the top. Step one direction, step the other direction... was she actually getting this right? She looked around and grinned when she saw that she seemed to be with everyone. But, of course, that was when she messed up. She stepped back, waiting for the rhythm to come back to her and then jumped back in.
Kick, now kick, now come on baby kick...
And then the twist. Grinning, she continued practicing the dance, falling into step with all the others. She even added the occasionally flair, twisting her shoulders as she stepped and kicked just for the fun of it.

Tessa sighed, glad for the breather. As the Professor continued explaining, however, her lips twisted in a frown. She didn't like to dress up- it wasn't horrible, but she much preferred being in pants and clothing she could move in. And while pants may have been an options... she shrugged the idea away. Not today- and she could probably go change if she really wanted to. Just, no heels. She already felt like she was going to break her ankle just by walking.
Making her way into the changing room she flicked through the selection of red dresses. Their colors ranged from light to the darkest red- which she appreciated. However, finally, she saw the perfect one. Grinning, she grabbed it and quickly changed into the dress. When she emerged, she gave a little twirl and then went to accessorize. Along with various gold jewelry, she managed to find shoes that suited her perfectly. Gold flats that were just unique enough to suit her.
"Hey everyone," she said, walking up to her friends with a wide smile.

Dressing up though? That sounded nice. She did like wearing dresses, and she also liked seeing Ascanius in a suit. He looked really nice and stuff. Though he also looked nice on a regular basis too. But suits were extra nice, yeah? And maybe he'd be more willing to dance with her here once she was all prettied up in a dress. So she smiled and gave his hand a squeeze as he pulled away. "Okay, see you in a few minutes." And then she headed for the Gryffindor girls changing room.
Nowww which dress to choose, hmm? Definitely a red one, but some of these were too poofy and some weren't flowy enough and some just weren't 'Penelope' enough. Not that she had a specific idea on what was Penelope-ish, it was just there for the ones that didn't fit the other two categories.
But then, finally, she found one she quite liked. Simple, but still kinda pretty and flowy. So she changed into the dress quickly, and then finally paid attention to what was going on in the rest of the changing area.
Hm? What were Schuyler and Alice going on about? Were those dresses Alice was holding? "You're gonna wear a dress, Alice?" That was surprising.

"I don't like dancing." Mostly because she wasn't good at it, and was surprisingly uncoordinated on the dance floor for a longtime Quidditch player. It was much easier for her to be graceful and not gawky or awkward in the air rather than on ground, where all the stumbling could happen.
.... and straps weren't equivalent to SLEEVES, Schuyler. They weren't.
