So many a door and so many a bore chore are found on this, the second floor. Between the Arithmancy classroom and the Headmistress' Office are several doors, nooks, and crannies... so what's not to explore on this legendary floor?
Lucas rolled his eyes. "Uh huh, give it like a week, mate." Eyeing James as he hugged him, the Gryffindor spluttered in disbelief. "Yeah, okay, you're uh, smooth. I didn't inherit that."
Fun? James always sounded suspiciously sinister when he said 'fun'. "Sure. What do you have in mind?" Or, how many points is this going to lose us?
Team Rodemiere? "It's your fault you got lumped into Ravenclaw." Their parents had found the split insanely hilarious. "Don't know how our Captains would feel if we were working together." But Lucas got a distinct glint in his eye at the thought. Yeah, so maybe some mischief wouldn't go amiss.
James laughed and shrugged off Lucas' comment. "You do know we're twins right...." he said with a laugh. "Identical at that. We should play that up a bit." He got this gleam in his, "We could switch places!" That'd be great. "Except we need to come up with a really grand scheme to do that...." Hmmm.
"Now now no need to think I'm up to something. I just meant like...exploring the castle some." Exploring forbidden fabled pathways that might lead to a haunted house in the distance. "How's it my fault?" What logic did that make. "Not enough people have a sense of humor anymore..." Sigh.
Knitted eyebrows. Yes, that's what Tag was wearing the very moment she had asked Tag what house he was in. Well its not like he was Hogwartian heh, so it wasn't a big deal. She had told him what house she was in. "Gryffindor. Lions." Simple as that. "I've nearly burnt down a kitchen." Cough, his owls, cough. His dad didn't need to know about this. Lottie called her cooking a disaster too, hadn't she? Or was that Tag simply teasing her. Anyway.
" I don't have a very strong voice." he said quietly. LIES. He had a strong voice, and could get very loud, he was probably just shy now. That or roaring was rather odd, even for him. Yes, of course his game. "Yes, my game. Tag, you're it." It could get quite confusing sometimes, especially on a playground. But, her name gave Tag a short thought, "Do people say something about your name? Like they make comments about it cause it's a flower?" Curiosity killed a kitty. Or in this case Unicorn.
Gryffindor. Hmm. Delilah didn't know why she found this interesting but she did. If she had to guess, it would have been Hufflepuff. No, she didn't know WHY but yeah. The Lions were cool people anyway. She knew many of them and they were all super nice. BLINK. What? Her eyes widened slightly. "How? Is that why you don't cook?" Must be, obviously.
The blonde tilted her head slightly and eyed him curiously. "Are you sure? I would have thought you'd have a super loud voice." And boys generally DID have loud voices, yeah? "Can I call you Taggy or Tags, if you don't mind?" Just cause she liked giving people nicknames. It was fun and creative.
And the Hufflepuff shook her head. "They DO make comments about it.. but not much. Mostly people tease me because of this muggle song called Hey There Delilah. Not sure if you've heard it.." Delilah didn't mind it much, though. She DID like that song and liked to pretend that the song was written just for her MHM.

Yes. Gryffindor. Even Tag had trouble wrapping his head around it some times. How did it happen? Tag couldn't even remember. "Dunno. All I remember is there flames shooting out of the pan. Nearly reached the ceiling, but it didn't, thankfully. Oil started popping onto my skin. I was near terrified trying to turn down the heat on the stove." Imagine if it had singed his hair?! WHAT WOULD ALEC DO!? Probably have a meltdown and get Tag a wig to cover up for his hair loss. What best friends do.
"I think there's a difference between loud and strong voices. You know? See, loud, you can make a lot of noises. Like a lot, and well, really loudly, you know. But a strong voice. Strong gives off, at least to me, this 'authoritive' connotation. I've got a loud voice, but am I strong with my voice and be authoritive, I don't think so." He said giving Delilah a grin. Hmmm. Then that nickname thing. "Tags is all right. One of my other friends calls me Taggy, it'd sound weird if someone else called me Taggy. Cause I think he's the only one that does." And that's what made Chris' nickname for Tag more special.
And Tag nodded slowly at Delilah's explanation. Nope. Never heard of the song. "Never heard of it. But at the very least you can say, if anyone ever teases you, meanly, about your name that 'I highly doubt an artist named a song after you cause they were thinking of you'." He said with a wink. That's how you beat all the others when it came to them making fun of people's names. Use it to your own ability.
James laughed and shrugged off Lucas' comment. "You do know we're twins right...." he said with a laugh. "Identical at that. We should play that up a bit." Lucas eyed his SLIIIIIGHTLY elder brother. "We ARE?! Oh. That's so weird. I'd never noticed." He nudged him slightly and folded his arms over his chest. "Uh, I'm prettier." HA.
Lucas could almost see the cogs turning in James' head as he suggested switching places. A grand scheme? More like a giant mess. "Uh, okay, sure that sounds fun but people are going to get really angry.." And there was also the fact that James would probably befriend all his friends who'd then realise that Lucas wasn't as fun.
Exporing. Words Lucas had always associated with a. fun and b. THAT look from their Dad. "Let's do it." He'd never said he was particularly rule-abiding. Weren't Gryffindors supposed to be troublemakers?
But Ravenclaws were clearly sooky. "The hat gives you a bit of choice. To be fair, pretty sure you belong there." James was so snarky. He grinned though, when his brother bemoaned the state of humour. "Defeats the point of teams though, doesn't it?"

Delilah's eyes widened. Okay, that seriously sounded scary. See this is why she was maybe a tad bit scared of cooking. Food, she LOVED. Cooking, not so much. But it was a useful skill to have though. To be able to make food whenever you wanted. "Well, I'm glad you're okay. What were you trying to make?" You know, she was just curious. Just like she almost always was.. almost always asking questions.
She gave a small laugh and raised an eyebrow at his next few words. "How do you know you don't have an authoritative voice? Has someone told you that before?" She, herself, didn't have a very strong voice. Or so she thought. She could sing pretty okay though. Not great.. but yeah.
And, YES. "I've actually said that a couple of times, actually." Yeah, she knew she didn't have a great name. It was rather old-fashioned but that really wasn't an excuse for people to keep teasing her all the time. "And I think you should listen to it sometime. The lyrics are beautiful."

Well, if years of war flashbacks of that horrendous day came back, then yes, Tag was ok from the traumatic memory. Of the accident that is. It would probably definitely happen again. Cough Owls Cough. "Definitely ok.... Pasta. I was trying to make pasta." He said quietly. Something so simple could've created something so terrible. The blonde was also thankful his dad wasn't at home, or Saxon, when that had happened. They'd probably had a heart attack. And neither of them knew about it and they didn't need to know about it. It wasn't important. Almost burning down the house.
"Well, maybe it might be due to my personality? Who's going to listen to a guy that is always goofing off or having fun, right?" It made common sense, at least to him it did. And Tag didn't have that scary barking tone in his voice either, that would help in sounding authoritive. "And my tone of voice to. Even when I'm yelling, I don't sound scary. You kind of need a scary voice for it, you know?"
"Good, you're beating them to it. Or at least, making it harder for them to tease your name." He said nodding. And listening to the song, he might. He might give it an ear or two, but first, "Artist?" It'd make it easier for him to track it down.

Pasta... PASTA? He almost burnt down his home making pasta? Oh, goodness. She wasn't much of a cook and definitely didn't know much about cooking but like wasn't pasta one of the most simple things to make? Poor boy. "Well, you didn't get injured or anything right?" Delilah asked with a concerned frown.
The Hufflepuff sighed and shook her head. "So? Just because you like having fun, it doesn't mean you can't be authoritative when the situation is serious." Just saying. And he seemed like the kind of guy one definitely would take seriously. Or at least, she would. But then, he went ahead to say that he didn't have a scary voice. "Well, that's okay. I think you have a nice voice, anyway. Do you sing?"
"Exactly. I feel rather proud of myself." Meh. Talking about her name was always a rather touchy subject. "They are a muggle band called Plain White T's. Some of their songs are quite good."

Yes, pasta. He knew it was sad. And had even been told it was one of the most easiest things to cook. But, this was Tag. Cooking for him wasn't easy. "No injuries. No. Just some of that oil popping onto me, but that last for about five seconds and it was over." So much concern for him, Delilah.
Tag had never been put into a situation where he had to be authoritive. So he didn't know the answers to all of these questions and conversation. "Put me in a situation where I'm meant to be like that and we'll see how people react to me." Maybe find it funny. Probably. But Tag wouldn't voice that. So simply based on the fact that Tag had a nice voice Delilah felt like he sang. Hmmm. That was a bit 'out of the blue' question, but he supposed it wasn't too out there. Did Irish even have nice voices? Tag shrugged away at the thought and simple said, "Thank you. Yes, I do sing actually, but not to everyone. Not publicly at least. Crowds, being in front of people, scares me." So just at home mostly, or in private.
"Plain white T's. I'll keep that in mind." Tag said nodding, remember to keep the band's name in his mind. As well, was Plain Black T's already taken as a band name? Heh.
If you wanted some peace and quiet, the second floor corridor seemed like a pretty decent place to go. It didn't look like anything ever happened here..
So after grabbing some lollipops out of his trunk, Donny had made his way back to the second floor corridor, where he was now busy writing a letter to his mam.
Or... trying to write a letter. He wasn't sure how to tell ask his mother to name his sister Ariel.. And he didn't like the name Ariel because of Lux, nope, nope. She'd just given him a good idea!
When his parents had told him that he was going to have another sibling, Donny hadn't been too happy. His baby brother was the biggest cry baby in the history of cry babies, so chances were that the new one was going to be doing lots of crying too.. But he had changed his mind after a lot of convincing. Abbi was good at that
Donny would have to make sure that this baby had a better chance at being nice and cool and not a whiny kid like Cian.... and being a mermaid was definitely one of the coolest things ever, maybe she'd even like dolphins, like Donny!
He squinted at the blanc parchment, mumbling to himself as he decided what to write. 'Dear..... mam...' ..there's a start. Donnacha sat back and sighed, this was difficult.

'Hmm...never used this Corridor back towards the common room before.'
Josette made her way down the corridor taking in her new surroundings. She began to wonder why she'd never taken this way to the common room before. Was it always here? Or was it magically inserted without her knowing? OR, was this like Charms class & that scary Professor was just doing that daydream charm thing again? Was this place even real?
.....Was she real right now?
...Was she really here?
...Was this place really here?
Then suddenly she was abruptly brought back down from her thoughts when she found her face rapidly coming close contact with the floor. Luckily she'd managed to stop that by blocking her face with her arm just in time, although that didn't really make anything better. Now her arm was hurting & now she was on the floor. Did she trip over something? Whipping her head around to look, she found herself not too far from...someone who was looking at a parchment. And apparently it was his foot she'd tripped over. Josette frantically began to apologize, "I'm..I'm..I'm so sorry.." Guess this corridor was real & she was not in the middle of a daydream.

A few minutes passed, but "dear mam" was still the only thing he'd written.. Maybe peace and quiet weren't as good for the brain as everyone suggested.. Donnacha functioned perfectly fine and he was always loud and excited. He shook his head and licked his lollipop, he had to try the silent thing for once. 'Dear mam.......' He should probably mention how he was okay with the whole new baby thing first, his parents wouldn't have to find a new home for his sister. Yeah, reassure them that everything is fine and then they'll do aaaanything.
"Sorry about telling you to give my new sister up for adoption, but I got Bump that way and he is really happy now, so maybe she would be too.." He scribbled, that whole Bump thing was true. Bump had to be the happiest toad in history. "You don't have to send her to a new home once she's here, but could you maybe name her Ariel? Like a mermai-"
Out of nowhere some mad person girl tripped over his foot, startling Donny and earning a shocked scream. Donnacha sat up straight and looked down at the perpetrator, she seemed just as surprised as himself.
Once he'd recovered from the shock, this was too much excitement even for Donnacha, he looked down at his paper, only to find it drenched in ink. Well..... to be perfectly honest, the letter hadn't been all that great and his mam might not even be able to read his handwriting.. So that wasn't such a problem, Donny decided and hopped up, cleaned his inky hands on his jeans and held a hand out to the girl. 'Was my foot!' He wiggled his foot around and grinned at her. ...... 'Are you alright??' Girls cried when they were hurt, didn't they? Pleasedon'tcry, pleasedon'tcry.

It was late in the day, but Mo Branxton was pacing the second floor corridor rather than off doing something actually fun. Sigh, the sacrifices he made for homework. SIGH. In this particular instance, Mo was waiting for Cassia, who had kindly agreed to be the victim of his charm. Or not victim, but... participant.
So he was pacing. He should have brought a snack, really. All this pacing made a man hungry.

She usually didn't do lots of extra credit stuffs, she was the kind to accept the points she earned and be very thankful. But this particular one sounded fun, or was it the way Mo had put it that made interesting and fun? Either way he promised she wouldn't regret and she trusted him. She also had nothing better to do.
Cassia made her way to the second floor and spotted Mo as she made it halfway through it. "Hi," she smiled at him. Was she late? She might have taken her time coming here and struck up a conversation or two on the way with certain people.
"So gluing, huh?"

And there was the Slytherin prefect her self! Mo hopped away from the wall and immediately regretted the action, since it made his hip twinge and his back ache and his whole body groan in despair. Merlin, this being old thing was getting to be really... well... OLD.
"Gluing, yeah. I was thinking that I would stick you to the wall, and then we could see how long you hang there. The only problem is that your clothes might get damaged... I could stick you to the floor instead, if you want." He really didn't want Cassia to tattle on him to Cat about anything. ANYTHING.

She got ready to prop up Mo or offer an arm for him to lean on if needed, you know, just like she's been helping Lex who, too, was going through the aging thing. It was not cool seeing friends your age going through that! Maybe in the future they'd all go through it but now it surely wasn't normal. See, bet no one figured it out but her.
Cassia paused considering his words, "Good thing I'm not wearing one of my favorite shirts," Because that was a huge case. "I like the wall idea better," She liked her feet free and not glued for some unknown reason, even to herself.
The snake walked towards the wall, turned around and leaned her back against it. "I'm ready." she nodded at him giving him the cue to do his magic. Literally. "Don't forget, I get to glue you, too" Better see how this turned out first, though.

"Girls. Always so concerned about their clothes," Mo teased, pulling a face at Cassia as he removed his wand from its holster. It wasn't a legitimate criticism, considering he was extremely fastidious with his own clothing. Everything was folded and pressed and put away neatly, and he would be concerned if something of his was torn or stretched with a gluing charm.
"You'll have to turn around so I can apply the charm to your back. Then you can just back up into the wall, and it should hold fast until I say Finite," Mo put a hand on Cassia's shoulder and turned her gently away from him so he could point his wand at her left shoulder blade. He drew a slow horizontal line between her shoulder blades, speaking the incantation very clearly, "Lentesco."
Just for optimal stickage, Mo drew another horizontal line across her lower back, repeating the incantation again. "Lentesco." Both times, a pale blue light lit the path Mo drew in the air, indicating that at least SOMEthing had happened. Whether it was enough to stick Cassia to the wall... that remained to be seen.

"Yup, that's us," she completely agreed with him because he was one hundred percent correct. And that could very well mean a compliment, was it one? Might have been pointing out a well-known fact.
Somehow she thought she'd have to be against the wall to be stuck to it but come to think of it, it made more sense now."Okay," she let him turn her around and held still waiting for him to utter the incantation while she stared at the wall. Lentesco. She had heard of that one before, though hadn't used it. But she didn't worry at all, Ravenclaws knew their way around with spells.
Once he seemed to have finished, she turned around again and pressed her back against the wall. She paused not moving because it felt like that what one did when waiting for a spell to take effect. Then she put her foot forwards and tried to pull her torso away from the wall but that didn't work as her head jerked back missing the wall by a centimeter. She obviously put effort into it meaning she was excellently glued to the wall. "You could say I'm united with the wall, now," She announced in case it wasn't clear that she couldn't move.

Somehow she thought she'd have to be against the wall to be stuck to it but come to think of it, it made more sense now."Okay," she let him turn her around and held still waiting for him to utter the incantation while she stared at the wall. "It would have been more fun to levitate you before sticking you," Mo mused as he glanced up at the wall over Cassia's head. Sticking her to the wall was fun, but hanging her from the wall would have been a lot more fun. Just saying.
Mo grinned and pointed his wand at Cassia again. "Finite." That should release her from the spell, and give her a chance to turn the tables, so to speak. He turned his back to the Slytherin girl. "Your turn."

Trust Mo to have this idea which indeed would have been fun. "I'm thankful you only thought of that now," She told him. "Because do we know whether you'd be fast enough to both end the gluing spell and make sure I don't plunge down and break a bone or two," Because she wouldn't be able to do anything, too busy being the volunteer. Mhhm.
Had it been a Slytherin in his place, he'd have totally made use of someone glued to the wall to ask them for a favor or tell them to say please and beg or something, but it was Mo who simply let her loose like the nice person he was.
Her turn! She took a step aside successfully peeling herself off the wall then pulled out her wand. "I'll stick your hand instead of back," she told him taking his hand that didn't hold the wand and turned over it so his palm was facing down. She released his hand as to not get glued to him. "Lentesco," she spoke with the tip of her wand hovered over his hand. Was this blue light supposed to appear? It was, right? Well, Mo would know to pull back his hand if it wasn't. heh.

Yep, perfect. Mo placed his hand flat against the wall and waited a few long seconds before trying to pull his hand free. The difference between gluing skin and gluing cloth, though, was that this kinda HURT a little bit. Mo made faces as he tried to gently pull his hand free, but when nothing budged, he turned to Cassia with a hopeful look.
"Yep, you're an expert at this one. Now... let us go? Please?" Because his fingers were starting to feel itchy on the part that was glued to the wall, and he wanted to scratch them. And he wasn't sure that he trusted Cassia (Slytherin, remember?) not to tickle him or hex him or something.

Oops. Did that hurt him? She probably should have been more considerate to ask him. She winced as he tried to pull his hand free, ouch. Hopefully that didn't hurt A LOT! And anyway, Mo was a big guy and could endure it, right? Totally.
Twirling her wand with a mischievous smile on her face only an act, she stepped closer to his glued hand then simply spoke, "Finite," Naah. She wouldn't go and be a Slytherin when he was gentleman. "Hope it didn't hurt," she told him holstering her wand and inserting her hands into her pockets. Now that extra credit thing was actually easy and fun. She might do it more often.

Lucas eyed his SLIIIIIGHTLY elder brother. "We ARE?!
James shook his head and gave a sigh worthy of their mother, "That's because you don't pay attention to anything Lucas." If he had been drinking something it might have come out of his nose, "You can be prettier I'll be handsome." James shook his head again, "Lucas...Lucas...where's your sense of ADVENTURE! What's a little trouble after all." What would happen? They'd expell them? Not likely considering who their parents were.
"Where shall we being our vast exploration?" James asked he almost felt like one of those boat captain people you read about in muggle books. "Meh. We can be team awesome and they can be team everyone else." He laughed and nudged his brother.

Lucas snorted. "I know. But you just look nothing like me. I'm so interesting and pretty." The second year laughed brightly at his brothers' reply. "It's a shame about your face though, otherwise you really could be handsome." Lucas' twin humour was a really depressingly corny thing.
"Hey, hey, hey do you know how hard I've been working to earn points!?" After all that, it seemed like a real cop out to LOSE them doing something silly. There was also the whole part about ALMOST being eaten by a giant man eating spider that was undermining his usual hijinx. "The dungeons? They're so dank and creepy." He liked a few Slytherins but their penchant for dark, moist spaces was weird.
Lucas liked the idea of Team Awesome. "You better work on your defence, JimJam otherwise you're off the team."Giggle.

He should probably mention how he was okay with the whole new baby thing first, his parents wouldn't have to find a new home for his sister.
Should she run? Was this boy going to be mean? STRANGER DANGER?! Father was right, you never know what they are capable of! They're dangerous! They can hurt you! OH NO! From the looks of it, it looked like he was writing a letter of some sort. And she'd just made him splatter his ink all over the paper. Now this boy was definitely going to be upset with her! Josette looked panicked as she tried to process what she should do. Although, judging by how much slower she's been moving recently, she figured that running didn't really seem like much of an option at the moment.
Wait, what was he doing..
Was he offering his hand? And he was taking the blame? Josette then looked at his foot as he wiggled it around and smiled at her. She couldn't help it as a smile was soon formed on her lips. Josette then looked herself over just in case for any injuries. Aside from a possibly scraping on her knee, she at least felt like she was alright. Hesitating for a few moments, she slowly placed her hands in his as she softly muttered, "I..I um, think so.."
