| | |  Gobstones Match: Ravenclaw vs. Gryffindor
The building used for the Gobstones matches had had it's doors opened to the brisk, early autumn air and it's surfaces magically dusted by Professor Botros and Mr. Kitridge, the school's Gobstones sponsors and made ready for the term's first match.
The red and blue marbles were set out and the playing 'field' had been marked. Chairs were set out on each side of the arena creating a Viewing Area for those not playing to watch. OOC: Remember only members sorted into Gryffindor and Ravenclaw Houses can post in this thread, it is not a chat thread and there is no rping. Read the Gobstones Rule book before playing and if you did last term, please check again because it's been updated. The thread is moderated so your answer won't show up until the sponsors allow it. When Leobald headed down from the castle to set up for the first Gobstones match of the term a light rain drizzled down on his head as he walked. By the time he had unlocked and entered he looked like a soaked cat. Pulling out his wand he dried himself satisfiably before he fetched the stone bags and took a tour of the court and stands in the viewing area.
Everything looked good for the match so Leo took his place in the center of the court to wait for Abraham and the players from Ravenclaw and Gryffindor. When a group of student's from each house had formed around him he spoke as much as to them as the people in the stands. "Welcome everyone to the first Gobstones match of the season."
"Good luck to both houses and remember that horse-play won't be tolerated." he said putting emphasizis on the last words. Giving the teams their stone, blue to Ravenclaw and red to Gryffindor he took his place on the sideline.

In the first roll of the match Gryffindor sent out Michael to face Huxley of Ravenclaw. They took their shooters and released them on Mr Kitridge's signal. The stones seemed to have similiar speed and aim when they head down the court neck and neck. Suddenly things shifted as the red stone started to swerve heavily to the right. It didn't stop until it reached the court edge. The blue stone could with its opponent of out play could inch up next to the Jack stone.
"First point of the match goes to Ravenclaw!" Leo declared in his sonorus enhanced voice.

In the second roll Michael tagged in Oichi to try her hand with the lion shooter against Huxley who remained for the eagles. The two girl's readied their shooters and released them. The stone's sped off. They had been rolling for only a minute or two when they crashed into each other with a loud BAM causing smelly gob to spray over both house teams and spectators.
"No points to either house! The match standings remain the same with Ravenclaw leading 1-0 against Gryffindor." Leo declared in his sonorus enhanced voice.
Advisor note: Neither house was correct. The answer is false. It doesn't matter which hand is dominant. The broom should abide by your instructions regardless.

Professor Botros watched Ravenclaws send one of their youngsters, Sophie Brown, and a slightly older comrade, Huxley. The Gryffindors had their famous former? Seeker move forward, the determined look on her face almost caused the gobstones to shiver themselves.
The girls released their shooters, and the stones raced, neck-by-neck, the crowd (mostly the old professor standing next to the librarian) counting the seconds. Both stones approached the Jack Stone dangerously close until the Ravenclaw one bumped the Gryffindor's one further away from the Jack Stone.
"Points go to Ravenclaw!" Botros announced, grinning and pointing with his cane. This was exciting.

The two Ravenclaw girls keep their positions for the next move while Gryffindor presents their graduate student, Oichi Paulidine. Sophie reached for the shooter for the eagles a moment before Huxley, Oichi released the shooter for the lions. The blue and red stones raced down the board, the blue stone ran into one of the edges momentarily swirling in place, but it didn't stop moving and soon it was found by the Jack Stone. The red stone got caught in one of the corners, unable to move.

Huxley, the Eaglette from Ravenclaw, gave her Gryffindor opponent a smirk before releasing the shooter. The blue marble raced on the board and effectively kicked the red marble away from the Jack Stone to get stuck once again in the corner, releasing gob on the players and the crowd.
Botros coughed and waved in front of his face, even though he was well-away from the mess. "Three points go to Ravenclaw again. Do not hinder, lions." He was supportive, exchanging a brief look with the Head of House.
