Sander put down his quill before turning to the measuring spoons that was lying in front of him at his station. Was he supposed to clean it first? Sander looked around before deciding that it wouldn't hurt to do so. He pointed his wand at the spoons and then cleaned it, saying, "Scourgify."

He then opened up the container labeled He and took one scoop out of it and emptied the powdered Helium into the glass box. Then he picked up another measuring spoon, opened up the container labeled H and measured out five scoops of the powdered Hydrogen before emptying its contents into the glass box too.

Then what was he supposed to do next? Sander had totally forgotten. He silently chastised his failing memory, as he turned to his notes again. 'Merlin, I don't know what I'd do if I lost my journal,' Sander thought to himself, as he read the instructions again.

He was supposed to cast the spell to change it from a powdered form to a gaseous state. Picking up his wand, Sander jabbed at the contents inside the glass box, and said the incantation to the spell, "Fingere Elementi" and then waited to see whether he had done everything correctly.

Instantly, there was a bright flash of light. Excitedly, Sander watched as the brightness which first filled the glass box, grew smaller and smaller before stabilizing in size. His sun was a shade of brilliant white in color with hint of yellow in it.

Sun, Sun here it comes. Sander now has made his very first Sun.

Sarah was taking notes.. she really did not know about the iron son. She was in her sicth year and still learning things. But she did nknow the spells. She wrote down the spell's names anyways - they were good to have on her, even though she knew most of the spells.

Sarah buttoned up her coat and put the goggle on. She was ready for action. Time to get the powder in that. Wait, first the dleaning spell. "Scourigfy" she casted. All clean. Sarah took a scoop of helium and dumped it in the box. Now onto the hydrogen. She had to concentrate, or else she would lose count

1- plop 2 -plop 3-plop 4-plop Wait.. was she on four or five? It must be just her mind playing a trick on her. She added the next scoop of hyrdrogen.
Now the spell to combine it all

Okay.. phew.. directions.. yay.. he might not know what they were talking about earlier but following directions and steps were his thing… he put his parchment back in front of him and took down more notes and steps.

okay now that he felt better writing these things down he looked at the measuring things in front of him… he scooped up the Helium and added it into his glass box…. then he scooped his Hydrogen and added into his box as well.. now that was done Bay took out his wand and practiced the jabbing movement first.

Jab…..jab….jab……jab….jab..jab

Now was time for him to practice the spell in his head before creating his own sun. Fingere Elementi….Fingere Elementi

He looked around to see how everyone else is doing… the whole lot seemed to be doing great… well at least Bay thought that.

Time to make my sun.. "Fingere Elementi" he cast as he saw the ingredients in the box come together…. and then a little ball of white light… Bay started at it… "oooooo pretty" he raised his hand "Professor…. does this look okay to you?" he wanted to make sure that this is what he was supposed to be seeing..

Now that her measurements were done, Ella cleaned the measuring spoons again and placed them to the side. Now came the fun part. She just needed to concentrate and say the incantation which was... ... ... It was um... ... ...GAH! It was right on the tip of her tongue and she couldn't remember it. With a sigh, she glanced down at her notes in search of the spell.

Fingere Elementi

Ohhhhh. Yup, that was it. She remembered now. And since she was familiar with the spell, she knew that she could manage it. She'd just need to concentrate and focus on fusing the elements. Her wand, she'd need that too.

Picking it up, the blonde aimed into her glass box and cleared her mind of any thoughts not pertaining to what she was doing. Focused, she was. And with a jab she said clearly, "Fingere Elementi!" O_________O WHOA!

Before she fully knew what was happening, the Head Girl found herself looking at a tiny sun. It was really bright and she squeezed her eyes shut for the moment, wishing she had sunglasses. When she opened them again, she BEAMED and gave herself a mental!high-five. Well done, Ellaphant.

Here comes the sun, here comes the sun and I say it's all right

As Adrienne finished writing down the steps, she buttoned her lab coat and pulled the goggles down over her eyes, blinking rapidly. It was definitely harder to see through these things, and she wasn't sure why they couldn't just cast an impervious charm or something, but she complied with the instructions anyway, because she didn't want to get into an argument with Flamsteed in his current, half-deaf state.

And now it was five scoops of hydrogen, one of helium, so she grabbed a measuring spoon and, from the H jar, carefully measured out five spoonfuls and dumped them into her glass box. She then switched to the one labelled with He and poured a single scoop into the box and then... was that it? Adrienne shrugged and put down the scoop, then grabbing her wand. She glanced up at the board for the incantation, and then made a jabbing motion at her glass box. "Fin-jear-y Ehl-em-ent-y."

BANG

Adrienne recoiled in surprise at the huge explosion and... well, okay, that was an exaggeration on her part. It was really quite a small one, and the only harm done was that the tip of her ponytail was a bit singed. Still, it had been loud, and she was now looking at an apparently empty box with a few burn marks on the side. She poked at the area with her wand, but it didn't seem like it was too hot to touch, so she just sat back down and sighed. Did she really have to start over?

They were starting!

... Which meant that he needed to make a note of how to make the sun, right? NEWTs, you know. NEWTs.

Grinning to himself at the idea of making their own solar system, Alec picked up his qui-- ... Where...? Quill? Hello? Uh oh. Blinking, he patted his chest, over his pockets, in his pockets and over his trouser pockets too. It had to be somewhere here, right? He had to have taken it out. A small frown formed on his face as picked up his journal... and then the text--

THERE it was!

Picking up the quill, Alec finally made a small note on the measurements for the sun. One scoop of helium and five scoops of hydrogen, right? And another, smaller, note was made on the iron part under 'for experiment purposes'. ... Which... did he want to add in iron? Was he feeling brave today? ... Maybe?

Placing his quill down somewhere where he'd be able to find it again -- fingers crossed -- the boy strapped on his goggles and checked that his lab coat was buttoned up properly. There. Picking up a measuring scoop, he gave it a quick "Scourgify!" before scooping up some... helium, first? Helium. Look at that 'He' symbol. One scoop was added into the glass box before the scooper was cleaned up again. This wasn't potions but... just in case, yeah?

Five scoops of Hydrogen... one... two... three... four... five scoops added into the glass box. And... a dash of iron. Just a dash was added in there too. Experiment purposes.

Spell... spell... Alec glanced over at his journal before mumbling the spell out loud. Fingere... Elementi... And a jab. He took a deep breath before saying, "Fingere Elementi!" JAB!

... EXPLOSION! ... Not a big one. A small one. Tiny, even. But an explosion nonetheless.

And... a sun? Was that what this was? The boy rubbed his eyes before peering at the insides of the box. GRIN. HEY! He had made a SUN!

Oh Merlin, what was going on? 'Cause Theodore was not listening. His head shot up quickly as the activity was introduced, and he quickly tucked his doodles away into his bag. They were making their suns, right? Theo did a little butt wiggle on his stool as he placed his goggles on. There was something very satisfying about dressing up like a scientist. There were a few smudges on his goggles, though, so he frowned. Course he didn't want to TOUCH them with his fingers either, so he just left them as they were.

Theo did listen to the instructions, however, but still felt the need to frantically look around the room at what the others were doing before he began.

Adding hydrogen and... helium? Right... okay, easy. Theo grabbed one of the spoons that were provided and got a good spoonful of helium before dropping it into his glass box. Just one. And then onto the next one. He cleaned the spoon obviously, before rushing through the next 5 spoonfuls of hydrogen. Oooookay, now it was time for the tricky part. Theodore pulled out his wand and cleared his throat a little. Fingere Elementi. What a stupid name for a spell!!

Every spell name was stupid.

"Fingere Elementi." Theo closed his eyes and said it quietly to himself a few times before even thinking about casting it. Especially when ELEMENTS were involved and stuff. Could set the place on fire. "Fingere Elementi. Fingere Elementi. Fingere Elementi."

A couple hundred practices later, Theo was ready (as ready as he could ever be). He pointed his wand at his glass box and, "Fingere Elementi."

PLEASE DON'T EXPLODE. PLEASE DON'T EXPLODE.

Instead, it did produced but a pathetic spark from the tip of his wand. Oh, excellent. WHY? Because he forgot the wand movement, as per usual. Theo pressed the bridge of his nose and took a moment to BE REALLY ANGRY with himself. When was he ever going to learn to multitask with wand work? He took a deep breath and tried again. He JABBED his wand at his box, and said, "Fingere Elementi!" AHH, something happened this time. The light made him jump and he almost dropped his wand. Nothing had exploded (much), though, so Theo peeked over at his creation and staaaaaaaaaaaared at the sun sitting inside his glass box.

Woah.

Practicals had always been fun aspects of lessons and they were usually something to look forward to. It had taken Terry's eyes a few moments to adjust to seeing what was in the Professors hand and he admitted it was pretty cool when it eventually came into focus. He smiled when he announced they were making their own solar systems, something that did sound like it could be interesting. Not necessarily beneficial but who cared?

He squinted at watched the Professor demonstrate the first action and put the instructions up on the board. He was so thankful that he had sat at the front of the classroom now otherwise he would be struggling completely. He put on his lab coat and did it up, protecting his uniform underneath from any accidental spills and then placed the goggles over his eyes. Thankfully they were clean and not covered in fingerprints like some usually were.

He picked up one scoop of Helium and added it into his glass box, quickly followed by 5 scoops of Hydrogen. He decided not to try the Iron in case it went horribly wrong. Perhaps he'd have a go with it another time. Knowing that this was kind of like a muggle science class, or so he'd heard, he wasn't surprised to hear that they'd need to use magic next. How else would you make that fascinating floating solar system?

He picked up his wand and pointed it at the box. "Fingere Elementi" he spoke whilst firmly jabbing his wand. He watched as the light flashed and the powder disappeared. In its place was a light ball that replicated a sun, floating about in the middle. Now that really was amazing.

He grinned before turning back to his notes. He'd need to write this down, it was definitely something he'd like to try again after all.

Soo. She had been trying to do the spell now. And she was good. And she though she could do it now. So Grace was pretty sure that she could do the spell now. And make her sun. That was the bit that she was really excited about now. It was going to be so much fun.

But first she had to like do the scienecy bit. She squinted a little, looking at the board to see what she had to do. One scoop Helium and Five scoops Hydrogen. That made sense. Biting her lip, the girl carefully scooped the one scoop of helium into her box. Next she scooped five scoops of the hydrogen into her light box. Yaay. Now she had to just do the the spell.

Frowning a little bit she looked around for her wand. Where had she put it? Ahh. There it was. Shaking her head, she picked it up. Now to do the spell. She performed the spell movement, before saying the incantation "Fingere Elementi" anddd...

nothing happened. Oh. Not good.

Sander was keeping a close watch on the sun in his glass container, when he heard Bay ask the Professor whether his sun looked okay or not. Sander leaned over to look inside Bay's glass box. He saw a small ball of white light.

"Bay, it sure looks like you did it right. Are you able to see hints of yellow or orange mixed in with the white light?" Sander asked his friend, even as he moved closer to the glass container to take a better look himself.

YAY! Now, to the exciting part finally! Delilah grinned and listened to the professor's instructions as she quickly took down notes. Yeah, this seemed easy enough. If she did it right, obviously. She put on her goggles, buttoned up her coat and she was ready to go.

First step. One scoop of helium and five scoops of hydrogen.. right. Okay. Delilah took a measuring spoon and dumped the required amounts of helium and hydrogen into the glass box. Okay, done. Now moving on to the spell.... OKAY.

"Fingere Elementi." Delilah muttered it a few times to herself to get the pronounciation right. The actual spell... The girl took a deep breath and looked at the glass box. This was pretty simple, yeah? She could do this.

Delilah picked up her wand and jabbed at the box whilst she said, "Fingere Elementi." She moved back a couple of places at the sudden flash of light and then.. A small ball. A small round ball. A sun. She'd just created a sun.

... A sun. "I did it, professor!" Delilah said, excitedly. Heck, yeah. She was so proud of herself right now. Could she do it again?

Waaaaand! Where did his wand go? Adi jumped off his stool and got on all fours to check under the table. Gah! He was sure he had brought it...He did, right? Anyway, there was no wand under the table so he scurried back to the surface and now frantically began rummaging through his bag. No wand.

Close to panicking now, Adi lifted his book and quill out of the way. No wa- oh wait! There it was! Under the book. Phew! How did he not remember he put it there? Adi needed to be more careful. Suppose he had lost it permanently? No can't do. He made up his mind to be more careful.

Now back to the activity. ''Fingere Elementi!'' Jab! Nothing. Nothing happened, not even an explosion. ''Fingere Elementi!'' Jab! Nothing. Heh. This was just like Transfiguration where he kept getting trouble with spells. ''Fingere Elementi!'' JAB!

And there went an explosion! COOOOL! That was the best part of making the sun so far. Too bad it wasn't bigger. But he had done it! A sun was floating in the box, white in colour with traces of yellow.

His mind had wandered for a bit even as he looked towards the front of the class. Though Ben drifted back as the professor spoke up once more starting them on the activity portion of the lesson, absently shaking his head to try to get his focus back. Alright...making a solar system. Slipping down his goggles over his eyes and double checking his buttons, the second year listened carefully as Flamsteed instructed them on their directions for the sun, taking down careful notes so he had something to reference. "Fingere Elementi" he mused as he copied the spell and wand movement information that appeared on the board onto his parchment.

Ben glanced at Adi through goggled eyes and nodded at his friend. "Yep...ready," he confirmed with mixed feelings. It sounded fun and simple but also mildly like potions. He certainly couldn't lose focus again or run the risk of serious trouble. Taking a deep breath to collect himself, the Gryffindor picked up the measuring spoon and scooped out one of helium and 5 of hydrogen, adding them one by one into his glass container. He had been extra careful to make sure he had the right amount of each and not mixed them up. And no...no iron for him thank you. Benny wasn't into making any experiments.

So far so good.

There was more furious note taking, as Lux tried to catch everything Professor Flamsteed said and wrote on the board. Yes, she was definitely confused so she would need help from the Head Girl. It was okay, because she seemed nice and Lux liked meeting new people. Plus, she had to be really smart if she managed to be Head Girl.

Looking around her, she saw other students get to work; gathering her stuff up, she moved over to where Ella was. She gave the girl a smile. "Hello, I am Lux." Putting her goggles on, she then made sure her coat was done up properly like everyone else had. It was time for her to get to work on her sun, and she saw that Ella had already made hers. "Wow, that is so cool." She stared at it, fascinated.

Sarah looked into the glass box. Time for that awesome spell.. "Fingere Elementi! she said giving a jab, waiting for an explosionj. But it seemed unconsciously she was nervous about the explosion coming. She added a bit of iron meanwhile.
Now time to try the spell again. ""Fingere Elementi!" she said, giving another jab.
WOW! That was awesome.
Sarah liked the explosion so much, she looked at the other students doing the spell, checking the explosions out. Way too awesom

Bay saw Sander peek over.. "Thanks Mate.. i don't know…" he answered while he moved closer to the glass with Sander.. "Dude this is so cool right??" he said while nothing thinking and putting his hand on the glass.. quickly he removed it. "wow" he said "that thing is surely warm…" it startled him.. he didn't think it would give off heat.. but it was a great hand warmer. "It looks like i see some orange and yellows…. what do you think?" he asked his friend.

Okaaay. So her spell hadn't worked the first time. That was kind of disappointing, but she was only little so it was okay. And it wasn't like she was used to doing the spell, so she was not too bothered. Hopefully this time she would be able to get the spell to work the 2nd time round. She really wanted to make her sun, because she really liked the sun. She hummed to herself, having a little rest before she tried again. She was feeling tired again lately, and it was not fun at all.

Okaay. 2nd time to have a go. She smiled, performing the incantation again before saying "Fingere Elementi" anddd praying that it worked. Andd it had. "Yaaay." She beamed, before giggling. her sun was floating in her box. and she and she was very happy. Goooo. Gracie.

But one can't really predict precisely how the reaction will, well, react. No kidding, Professor Flamsteed. She nodded and smiled towards him. Let's just hope Lottie doesn't have to use the other spells, yes? Yes, thank you.

Let's hope her bestie doesn't have to use them either. But considering she couldn't remember Lottie's name... would she remember her death star's?

SIMULATIONS FTW! Though she didn't like pretends, she'd much rather create or have the real thing, she was totally fine with this. It was time to... make... a super big star now. Or simulate the conditions belonging to the center of our solar system, yes? She cannot say sun. So, goggles on, glass box close by, measuring spoon...and quick glances at Lex, just in case, she added one scoop of helium and 5 whole spoons of hydrogen, erm...sure, let's experiment and add a pinch of iron as well, cuz why not? Without further ado, "Fingere Elementi." Jab motion at the glass box and...BRIGHTNESS.

Yes, Lottie is so bright, we know, but there was something brighter floating in the middle of that glass box and it made her smile somehow. No hints of yellow. Though, perhaps there were. She'd still refuse to acknowledge it.

Center, done.

Benny looked over at Adi when he noticed movement beside him, greeted by the Hufflepuff climbing around on the floor as if looking for something. "Something wrong...or lost?" he asked confused before noticing the other boy look relieved to find his wand. He could understand the worry, he couldn't imagine not being able to find a rather valuable tool. His own had been missing for a few minutes the other day when he had been doing homework in the dorms.

Turning back to his own work, the Gryffindor was grateful his own wand was still in his pocket when he reached in. A sigh of relief in the momentary panic. ''Fingere Elementi....Fingere Elementi...Fingere Elementi," he practiced, keeping his wand low and at his side so as not to cast just yet. It was only when he was satisfied with the pronunciation that he felt ready to do so. Finally he aimed his wand at the inside of the glass container.

''Fingere Elementi," he cast, jabbing at the materials within. He hadn't really expected it to work the first time around so it wasn't a surprise when what he was seeing going on around him didn't occur right off the bat. Ben did chance a look to see if there was anything, a smouldering or a clue it wasn't a total failure but there was no luck. "Fingere Elementi," he cast once more at the minerals, remaining a bit closer to his jar this time wanting to actually watch what might be happening.

Boom!

It was then that it worked and Ben was glad for the goggles as he quickly pulled back. The second year yelping in pain as he moved too quickly. The explosion surely would have gotten him in the face if he hadn't. But regardless, there he had one sun.

One star for his universe.

Now they were finally moving onto the next activity. He liked the idea of making his own solar system. When the professor showed them his own, Kace stood there flabbergasted. He thought that was SOOO wicked! He smiled and was jumping on the balls of his feet. He saw what the professor wrote on the board and knew he had to practice the incantation and make notes. He scribbled down some notes into his notebook.



He wanted to practice the spell first. So the incantation was "Fingere Elementi!" he began to pronounce it. That sounded about right. He said it a couple more times, "Fingere Elementi....Fingere Elementi....Fingere Elementi...Fingere Elementi..." Now he got the hang of it. He smiled and thought it wasn't so bad. Now onto the wand movement. It was just a single jab. He jabbed...jabbed and jabbed till he felt comfortable with his wand. Once he felt confident, now it was time to put the spell to the test.

Did Marcus do what now? Were they still talking about her? Lex blinked and shook her head slowly. "I don't think so...at least...if he did I don't remember." Honestly there was hardly anything she remembered. Sue her--or not. Just help her, she didn't like this feeling of being lost. "Er...does he have a reason to put me up to anything?" You know, in case she was forgetting that too?

The Gryffindor relaxed a little when she heard it wasn't a threat. Thank Merlin! Good it wasn't serious because she didn't think she could remember half her defensive spells right now.

"RIIIIIIGHT!! Right right right! Lotus! I knew that." Pffft, she totes did. How could she have even forgotten Lottie's--"It's Lottie! It is, right? Yes?" The name Lotus jogged her memory but it was leading it more toward the Lottie side and she squinted, still trying to remember. Of course she was right, she had to be.

And what was the Professor on about? She hadn't actually heard the question everyone was answering to but she DID hear the instructions so she got her coat nicely buttoned and slipped her goggles on.

This was kinda like making Jeffery then NOT Jeffery! Those were some fun times man. The Gryffindor scooped the 1 scoop of helium and 5 scoops of hydrogen up and into her box, distracted momentarily by Lottie's (see she remembered this time) own sun she'd made so bright. It made her even more eager to get her own. "Fingere Elementi!" JAB. Come oooonnn, work. Lex STARED at the box, as if willing a mini sun to show up and blind her.

Wait for it...waaaait for it....the gases were reacting and the next thing she knew she had a floating mini!sun in her box. WOOT!

"Nice to meet you, Lux." Properly, that is. The Head Girl had seen her around the common room and such but with preparing for NEWTs and Quidditch, she was sort of always on the go. The eighteen year old grinned as the younger badger observed her sun, tilting her head to admire it as well. "It is cool. Professor Airey's projects are the best." Really. "Your turn."

Now onto making the spell work. Kace put on his lab coat and safety goggles. You could never be too safe right? He put them on and then decided to go get the ingredients. He needed...1 scoop of Helium and 5 scoops of Hydrogen and then had to add them into the glass box and use the spell. He could do that.

He went up to the front of the room and got the 1 scoop of Helium and then added the 5 scoops of hydrogen. One...two...three...four...five.... Once finished with that, it was time to put the spell to the test. He closed his glass box and then went back to his desk. He stepped back a few steps and then pointed his wand at the box and said, "Fingere Elementi!" and jabbed his wand and then....BAM!!!

He jumped back in fright and then the sun was forming in his glass box. He thought he broke his glass box. But he did it! He made the sun. He smiled and then waited for the next set of directions.

Nice Head Girl was nice. "Nice to meet you too," she said grinning as she continued to look at the sun. "Yeah, it's awesome! I hope I can make one too." If her sun ended up looking like a burnt out star, she would be so sad.

Looking at her notes, she picked up a measuring spoon and scooped it into the helium, placing it into the glass box. Then she scooped into the hydrogen five times, adding that to the box as well. "This is right? I jab my wad at it and say 'Fingere Elementi'?" Was she even pronouncing the spell correctly?

Sander reached over to touch his own glass container and felt what Bay was talking about. Even the surface of his container felt a little warm. "You know what? I didn't even think it would. But I guess since we are simulating the same conditions as that of a real sun, there should be some warmth for sure," Sander agreed with Bay.

Then he turned back to Bay's and leaned down until his face almost touched the glass container's surface. "I know I can definitely see some yellow. I can't see any orange but then again my eyes aren't as good as it used to be." he told Bay.

"I'm sure when the Professor gets to us, he'll tell us whether we created our Suns correctly or not." Yep, the Professor would surely know.
