Wait, what? Hit him? Sighing, Lux shook her head. "You are my best friend, Lucas. I wouldn't hit you." Never in a million years. And she was so happy that she was seeing him again, because she had missed him lots. The last time they had seen each other was like a month ago. "Of course you can fly with me! And it's okay, I don't think you will let me get hurt." Oh man, did he still feel bad for that? Because it was not his fault when she had been the one to decide to do a handstand in the kitchen.

Wait. What?

"Oh goodness! I'm so glad you got out okay! You are so brave to have ventured into the Forbidden Forest." Seriously impressive, and more so when she knew that he was shy and could get anxiety. Gosh, this boy was a true Lion even if it had been foolish to wander into the forest.

"Nooo, it isn't like that! I kissed Louis and Donny because I was curious. And well, I kissed Louis three times, but I don't have a crush on him and I'm not dating yet." It had not gotten to that point, and she was not sure when it would. If Louis, Sander, Tessa, and Bay had their way she was sure that the dating thing would never happen. Well, too bad for them because she was growing up!

Lucas made a face. "But if I'm being dumb. Just. Like. Uh. Go for it." He gave a noncommittal shrug and dug his hands into his pockets. Enough of that. ENOUGH. But he could in a sense make up for it with flying. "Great! Well when you've got an afternoon free on the weekend, we can do that."

Yeah. Lucas laughed a little, remembering how insanely terrifying it was only made it seem funnier in retrospect. "Yep. Scrapped my knee but otherwise.. alive!" Barely. BARELY. "Nope, pretty sure it was the DUMBEST thing I've ever done. There's a reason it's called the FORBIDDEN forest, you know? Cos it's really dangerous and a bunch of REALLY damn creepy things live in there. Ugh." But Gryffindor through and through. It had seemed like a GREAT camping spot at the time.

Wait. Louis and Donny. WHO WAS LOUIS? "You kissed BOTH?" He was so confused. "So you were like.. testing them out for dating?" Lucas side-eyed her. If he was being truthful, kissing sounded like an interesting albeit terrifying activity and Lucas didn't know how he felt about it yet which was why he couldn't help but ask in an almost conspiratorial whisper, "..so what's it like?"

Frown. Lux did not like that at all. "I would rather give you hugs though." Hugs were a lot better than slaps, and Lucas did give great hugs. Never ever would she hit him. "That sounds great! I can always make time for you." The prospect of flying was really exciting, and Lucas wouldn't have to wait for her to make time for him, because he was her best friend and she always made time for her friends.

YAY for being alive!

"Well, what possessed you to go in there?" Because not only did that forest hold a lot of really dangerous and scary creatures, it was also against the rules to go in there. Clearly Lucas was much more of a Gryffindor than he had thought - no matter how foolish what he did was. "What else did you see? Besides the huge spiders." There were supposed to be Unicorns in that forest, and Lux would die of happiness if she saw a Unicorn.

Nod. Yes, she had kissed them both. "I'm... not sure? I don't have feeling for either. It was mostly just impulse and because I didn't know it wasn't right for friends to do that to other friends." The only thing she had figured was the whole girlfriend thing. "But kissing is interesting. Kind of nice, but I didn't really feel anything when I kissed them." No weird feelings like would happen if she had feelings for either boy. Maybe one day she would find someone special to kiss who would make her feel something when they kissed.

Lucas, having grown up in a rather non-tactile family, and ever the contrarian that he was, was extremely affectionate. He beamed like a moonbeam and pulled her into a hug. UH HUH. He squeeeeezed and then let her go. "Good! I like hugs better anyway."
On the subject of flying, Lucas made a soft 'aw' sound, a very uhh..manly sound before he nodded. "Awesome. AWESOME. So you feel more confidant?" Obviously Tessa was a pro.

....Good question. The Gryffindor made a non-committal and regretful huffing noise. "It seemed like a good adventure." And MAYBE he'd wanted to show off how brave and cool he was to Abbi. BUT LIKE NO BIG DEAL. "Abbi came with me. Uh huh. And she also didn't die." Nah, she was too busy sassing the spider, she was. "We saw the potions Professor AND Kirby. MMHMM. But.." and at this, he dropped his voice to a conspiratorial whisper to add, "..they were completely useless." Unless whinging loudly was useful in the situation. Hmph.

Lucas didn't KNOW how he felt about all this kissing talk. James talked about it some and he'd done it too but Lucas.. had figured it would just happen and he could think about it when he was fifteen or something. Not NOW. "H-how did it feel?" he asked, as usual compelled more by his unfiltered curiosity rather than common sense. "Was it.. wet?" But he figured.. he could always invoke best friend code if Lux saw fit to laugh. "No.. butterflies?" Lucas interrogated, preoccupied with the amount he DIDNT know about this experience. "Well at least you know! Now you can go and kiss people and know EXACTLY who you don't like." Such a good system. At least, he thought so.

Awww.

Lux was happy as she was pulled into a hug, and squeezed him back. Lucas was so adorable, and that was why they were best friends. "I'm getting there. I can't wait to fly with you, Lucas! We are gonna have so much fun. And you have to see me during the summer, okay?" Either him coming to her place, or her going to his... she just wanted them to hang out together.

Well then. Lux raised her brow as she thought of what he said. Seemed more like a suicide mission to her, but she was not going to comment on that. "Well... that's nice, Louis. You definitely won't be forgetting about that one." Pretty sure none of the people involved would be. "I've been having fun too, doing class things like making a solar system. And we have to try to get the Squid to come up to us again." She wanted Lucas to be there when she did that.

How did it feel? That was a good question. Lux was silent for a moment as she became thoughtful. "It was... interesting. A little wet, but I didn't get any weird feelings or anything. So I definitely don't like Donny or Louis as more than friends." A relief, no matter how lovely she thought they were as people. "Oh, that's a good idea! But I don't think Bay, Sander, and Louis would really like it." Paranoid girl was paranoid.

Lucas waved her off, dismissive in agreeance."Uh huhhhhh," he replied. That was THREE MONTHS of course they were going to see each other! "...you don't happen to like shopping do you?" Part of best friend duties was tagging along for shopping right!? Maybe he could convince her to do back to school shopping with him because hE HATED IT. It wouldn't be so bad with Lux around.

Lucas did notice Lux's raised eyebrow and he laughed self-deprecatingly. "IT WAS SILLY. But it was fun. Not at the time, probably, uh, no. But. Now. Now it's hilarious." Sort of. Maybe just for him. It was probably still the after-effects of shock. Hmm. THE SQUIIIIID. Lucas clapped in delight. Another adventure. "Oh yeah. Maybe we can bring it food? What do you think it likes to eat?" Hopefully not little humans.

The Gryffindor, in his lack of experience and complete lack of knowledge on the matter was FASCINATED. "Wet huh." He pondered that for a lil' bit, staring at the Armour man before turning back to face her, "what do you think it's supposed to feel like? How do you KNOW? Like do you know before you kiss someone? Or only after?" Not like he had someone on his mind for this information, nUH UH! ...Wait what? Lucas eyed Lux. And then eyeballed her a bit more. "Why would you listen to what a bunch of boys think?" Do what you want, girl!

Shopping? Did Lucas want to go shopping with her?

"Oooh, want to go with me when I buy clothes, Lucas? I am starting to want to wear dresses. Oooh, and maybe we can go look at make up..." Even if he was a boy, he might be able to come since he was her best friend and best friends went shopping together. "And then we can go to the Quidditch store and have ice cream!" Since Quidditch was her passion, and she loved ice cream. "We will see each other and have loads of fun!" She loved Lucas, he was amazing.

Yeah, Lucas was clearly in shock. Eyebrow still raised, she had no idea what to say to him. Yeeeeah. All she could do was shake her head and laugh. The Squid stuff seemed safer and something she was more willing to do. "Maybe he will eat cucumber sandwiches! Donny told me that there are sea cucumbers, and he must like them too." They needed to try this out soon, because she wanted it done before the end of Term, and it was already February.

More questions, and Lux was not sure how to answer them because she had not kissed anyone that made her feel anything but friend feelings. "I don't know, Lucas... Is there someone you want to kiss?" Was that why there were all these questions? Oooh, did he want to kiss Abbi?! And... that was a good question. "Because Bay got mad when I kissed Louis, and Louis and Sander said he would get mad if I do it more and I don't want Bay mad. He's really protective of me." Nods.

Lucas realised, too late after the fact that this meant he'd have to go shopping too. He'd never been dress shopping before. "Cool," he replied. "Sounds like fun. Especially the icecream part." MMHMM. He was an EXPERT in flavour combinations. Having membership with Florean had its perks. UH HUH.

Laughing was probably the most sensible response to the story and Lucas just shrugged. "It was fun." Giggle. But it faded to a puzzled expression when Lux mentioned sea cucumbers. HUH. All he imaged was long green cylinders with tiny ant like legs. Shaking his head to dispel the bizarre thought, he offered a shrug. "We should try it. Uh, we'll just go down there with a picnic until we figure out what he likes to eat."

Someone he wanted to Kiss? He gaped, aghast. No. NO. He didn't want to have to thINK about that stuff until he was like fifteen it was so confusing! Especially when people were likely to get angry about it. He didn't want to have to deal with that. YEESH. Fighting? Conflict? YELLING!? NO SIRREEEEE. "That sucks that Bay got angry. I think that means he's jealous." Or something. He was SO confused about the whole thing. "It would be real cool if everyone just.. slowed down." Was everyone more mature and cooler than him that they just got it? "I just.. " He grimaced. "Maybe if we're older it'll kind of automatically make sense?" he added, hopefully. Because this.. kissing.. girls as something "other" than friends? Lucas had NO idea what to make of that situation.

Awesome! Lucas was the best! "It's a date then!" A best friend, date that is. There would be loads of them, since they were best friends. "This summer is going to be so much fun, Lucas." She could already picture all the fun things they would be doing together. Obviously ice cream would be a big part of it, but there would also be Quidditch and cucumber sandwiches... Chocolate Frogs...

At least he had fun! That was important; almost as important as the fact that he had managed to get out of there alive. Not really understanding the puzzled expression that formed on his face, she decided to let it be and just move on with things. "I love picnics, and hopefully he will too. Maybe he will join us! This means we will need to make cucumber sandwiches." Or take some of the ones the elves made. Same difference.

Lux supposed it was a good thing that Lucas did not want to kiss anyone, because it could be more trouble than it was worth. As much as she love Louis she wished she could redo her first kiss with someone special. "I am not sure what happened, Lucas. I am still confused by this kissing stuff myself, but I think you might be right about that. I still seem to be confused by a lot of things that people who are older aren't." Sigh.

Lucas nodded before he abruptly focused on the connotation of the word. "Wh..wh..wait, like. Uh." And he didn't want to hurt her feelings and so he just summoned up a watery smile. "IT SURE IS. A FRIENDLY FRIEND MEETING UP OF FRIENDS," he replied, with caustic brightness. Jeeeeez. The Gryffindor didn't dwell on it too long, preferring instead to tease lightly with: "don't jinx it! But it will be EPIC." After all, so much was happening. They were all going to enter TEEENDOM. That was a whole different ballgame he'd been told.

"Tomorrow, after lunch so the elves aren't busy." Done DEAL.


Oh it was just so stupid and confusing. "..do you wish you'd waited?" Lucas asked Lux quietly before sighing to himself. "I'm going to swear that thing where-... you know what? I'm going to become a Nun. YEP."

Oh, goodness. Did he think that she meant a date date? Poor Lucas!

Laughing, Lux shook her head. "I didn't mean it like that. Don't worry." Lucas was just her best friend. Besides, she knew that he wasn't ready for dating even if she had liked him as more than a friend. "We can make extra sure not to jinx it! And I want to go to Quidditch matches with you." He was her Quidditch watching buddy, and they would have loads of fun watching matches. He would deserve it after being nice and going clothes shopping with her.

SQUEEE! "I can't wait, Lucas!" She was excited, and she was sure that he could see it by the way she had started bouncing on her feet.

"I think I wish I waited, but... I love Louis as a friend, so it wasn't totally terrible." And it wasn't as if it was a bad kiss! She just had no idea it was not a way to kiss a friend at the time she had done it! "You can't become a nun! Then you would have to go to another school, and I wouldn't see you anymore." He wasn't allowed to leave her!

Lucas hesitated to let out the air he hadn't realised he was holding. It wasn't that he didn't like Lux. Or even that he didn't like her. He could DEFINITELY see the appeal, objectively. Its just that he didn't feel those things yet and he didn't want to rush it or do something until he understood fully what it entailed. After all, with the precariousness of handling someone ELSES heart, it was downright terrifying. "YEAAAH, the one over Christmas had been FUNNNN." Even if his home team had lost, he hadn't minded with all the hot chocolate he'd practically inhaled.

He laughed, watching her tap dance excitedly. "What else do you think lives down there?" Because when the weather warmed up, he wanted to go SWIMMING.

The Gryffindor mulled on the thought for a moment before he spoke. It seemed silly to regret anything, especially when it had been what you'd wanted at the time but then again, "having your first kiss with someone you trust like, uh, you know, Louis, cos he'd your friend is kind of an awesome thing too because it takes the pressure off the next one. And you know that Louis won't be upset or whatever because he's your friend," he told her, quietly. ...Man the nun thing REALLY wasn't going down well with ANY of his female friends. "Oh." Well. "I guess that would be pretty bad. Scrap the idea. Plus, I'd probably trip over the dress thing they have to wear too."

It was a relief to see that Lucas was not feeling awkward anymore. The reaction had not offended her, because she was aware of how he was about the whole issue; some people were later bloomers than others and all that. With matters of Quidditch - something much more important - at hand, the previous incident was forgotten in her mind. "It was! And we can wear more team stuff... and even maybe paint our faces?" Unless he was opposed to it, then she would be the only one doing that. Lux had never painted her face for a Quidditch match before, and it seemed like a lot of fun.

Continuing to move her feet, she thought about Lucas' question. "Besides merpeople, I have no idea. We will have to find out when we go swimming in the lake." Because of course he would be coming in there with her. If he could venture into a scary forest, he had it in him to go swimming in the lake. It would be an awesome adventure, and Lux found herself wishing the warm weather would come, yet again. "Maybe we can do it in June, around my birthday!" It would be warm in the water by then, right?

As Lux listened to what Lucas had to say, she had to admit that his logic seemed rather sound. "I never looked at it that way. You are totally right! And it doesn't mean I can't still have special kisses." Lucas was smart, like his brother apparently was. This was proof of it, right there. "I'm glad you aren't going to be a nun. Not sure I can see you in a dress either." Laughing at the mental image that produced in her head, Lux shook her head. Silly Lucas was silly.

Bart had wandered into the area with the armor. Why he wasn't sure. They didn't have hair. They couldn't help him. No they were just metal figures standing doing nothing. Everyone he could think of was either using hair dye to color their grey hair or had already used the charm on themselves. So he was just stuck without someone to do the spell on. How was he suppose to do dumb homework if he had no one to practice on. He couldn't just do it on his own head. He was bald, which reminded him he needed to see about that hair potion.

Looking at the armor he walked up to one. "You don't look so tough.. If I wasn't so old I could take you. Do you know I broke my nose over the summer with a bludger. Yeah I did, not that I'll get to do that again since it's not my home anymore, but I still did it." Why he was talking to the armor Bart didn't even know, but it seemed to be fine, no one was around. "and why don't you have hair? I need to practice this dumb spell on someone with grey hair. Why can't you lame tin cans have grey hair."

Flopping himself down on the floor and sat back and pouted.

"Be careful what you say, Mr. Bart," the astronomer's voice came from just a little bit down the corridor. "Just like in the muggle fable, these things can and on occasion DO come to life." And historically speaking had served the school well during the Battle of Hogwarts. Given the pair of them's appearances, one would probably believe that they had been alive to witness this.

Pity they hadn't. It sounded legen.................................dary.

Bart was still pouting in his own head until he heard his name. Brown eyes snapped up. "Well can they sprout hair too? Grey hair?" That what he needed. He needed grey hair to do his dumb charm on. Where was he going to find grey hair to do this homework on. He was bald, so that was out. He looked at the armor, "It would be cool if they came to life though." Looking at the armor he tried to think about what they would do. "Would they hurt someone?" He might be alright if they did depending on who it was.

His eyes went back to Flamdude and that's when he saw it. Squinting and thinking he got up from the floor slowly, "Hey you have grey hair." Shuffling over to the professor he got on his tip toes the best he could and looked at the mans hair. "Think I could do my homework on you?" This could work out pretty well actually. "It's charms homework I have to practice turning someones hair from grey back to it's original color." So it was to help Professor Flamdude as well.

He supposed that giving the proper enchantment or potion that such a thing was possible. Tempting even. Not that the astronomer was very good at potion making and the new Potions Master made him squirm half as much as Lafay had to even ask. No, wait, that was too generous. A third. Fifth? Granted he had never really spoken to the bloke, but with the way the Headmistress was always giving the astronut dirty looks and how chummy the man was with the redhead...he was convinced that nothing good would come from a conversation anyway.

Oh well. Potions Master's loss.

"I reckon there is a potion for that," he nodded. "To make them grow hair. Might be amusing to try." Airey would be game. "Only those that are enemies to Hogwarts. Spies. Dark Wizards. Felines." Worst enemy of them ALL.

"Good to see that your keen observation skills have not left you," he grumbled while rubbing his head. Yes, thank you for pointing out that his hair was no longer blonde and brilliant like the Sun. Always a pleasure, really. "A...charm?" he questioned. Mr. Bart wasn't trying to pull a fast one over him now, was he? "I suppose, on the condition that you do make me bald."

Bart couldn't help but to look up at the armor, a potion he says. Hmmm that got the second year thinking and he tilted his head loosing focus of why he was really there. He could probably find said potion or ask Professor cool if he had one. "I bet I could find one. I think we should try." "If not I am sure you could always invent one. Stretch your horizons," he mused as he tapped his chin with his index finger. He assumed that the Potions Master had an open laboratory policy of some sort where students could go and brew things for practice.

Chuckling mostly at the dark wizard comment, he instead focused on what came next.

Wait. What? Bald? Why were they talking about making him bald? "You should talk to that librarian about being bald. Sure he could give you a tip or two about how to cope with that." HAHAHAHAHAHA. Yes, there was some hysteric laughter that ensued accompanied by some tooting here and there.

Whoooooooooops.

WOAH WOAH WOOOOOOOOAH THERE! Where was the countdown to the spell casting? The man needed more preparation than just BOOM. Since he couldn't exactly jump and roll out of the way as he may have done in his youth, the astronomer's eyes shut tight as he braced for impact. Or whatever it was that was about to come. He knew the way Mr. Bart had the tendency to....hand mild difficulties with spells.

Not nearly as bad as Mr. Gunter or Mr. Katharos. At least in the man's presence.

Invent a potion, did the professor know him well or what! "Oh I can do that. I could make one to do that, but Professor Culloden said I can't experiment just yet. I have to prove I won't blow up the lab like I did my old school." He liked experimenting and his mind now wondered what ingredients that would use. He wanted to just leave the area and head to find what he could about growing hair on the armor, but he had to think about what was going on around him first.


The laughed caught him off guard and he looked confused by the words, "I don't really know the librarian. Libraries are not really my thing." Books were there the best reason to stay away in his eyes. "I went there to work and well didn't stay long." Not long at all the claw girl ignored him, he felt weird around books, and it was easier to just do his homework on his moving plant lion in the common room. Yep that was much better.

Now it was his turn to laugh. The professor's face was priceless at him doing the spell. He had been practicing it and didn't want to mess it up so it was easier just to jump on it, plus it wasn't that difficult of a spell really. The planet one and the moving plants one he had been doing and still failing at the plant one were much harder. So watching the grey turn back to blonde the boy squinted, "You know professor, you do look good bald." Not that he should mess with the man in his old stage, but he just couldn't help it. "I think I did something wrong actually. It wasn't suppose to make you half bald half green goblin hair." He really tried to keep the laughter back and look serious.

Jumping off the books he moved. "Look in the armor and tell me what you think." He'd find out soon that the spell worked and he wasn't grey anymore, but it was fun to mess with him while he had the chance.

Surely the Potions Master had charms and enchantments in place to prevent such a thing from happening? Airey himself only had a few in place in his astrophysics laboratory, but it was enough to ensure that no serious damage be done to any of the equipment. And students as well since their lab coats had enchantments on them as well. No change for serious burns anyway. "Not even under his supervision?" he asked. Shame.

Well, that made two of them, although Airey wasn't put off by libraries, but ask him directly about them and he would deny them being a sort of escape for him as a student at Hogwarts. Where else was he supposed to find science fiction books? Before he started his own collection himself that is. Now he had his own little library in his office.

"WHAT?!"

Okay, so the man was not obsessed with vanity or his hair - plenty of that among other staff members and some students to go around - but WHAT?! Gripping his chest, because he was pretty sure he was having a heart attack right now, he just stared at the Gryffindor for several long and awkward moments while his nostrils flared like a bull's. BALD? GREEN GOBLIN?! Wait, were goblins even green? The ones at Gringotts had never appeared green to him. Maybe he was colorblind. Hmm...good to know? BUT WAIT BACK TO HIS HAIR!

"WHAT?!"

Yes, he was repeating himself.

Still gripping his chest, he turned around and practically had his nose pressed up against the suit of armor to see himself reflected back - which did make his eyes crossed momentarily before they finally refocused and he could see himself. Which was also a very handy trick for doing those muggle Magic Eye books, in case anyone was wondering.

Bart was snickering not at the Professor, but because of the reason for Culloden not to let him just jump into the potions lab. He shrugged, "You blow up one cauldron at your old school and get expelled and people just wait for you to do it again I guess." Not that he blamed Culloden, experimenting could get dangerous and he liked to just mix things together.

"I'll ask him though. It would be rad if he let me and I could figure it out." It would be awesome and the boy couldn't help but look back to the armor and picture all the hair on their armor heads. He wondered if he could make them have different colored hair. This potion was going to be so Epic he just knew it and he knew he had to figure out how to make it.
