Just behind the Groundskeeper's Hut you will find a mini golf course. There are eighteen holes, all of varying degrees of difficulty. And each week the course changes. So come down and try hitting the ball through windmills, pyramids and over bridges of water.
SPOILER!!: Instructions
How to Play
Mini golf courses have 18 marked lanes that are numbered. Players must complete each hole in number order without skipping any hole. According to Play Mini Golf, using their putter, players are required to putt the golf ball from the tee area and straight into the hole. The objective is to make it into each hole on the course in as few shots or strokes as possible. According to Play Mini Golf, every stroke taken counts as a point. If, after six strokes, the ball has not been holed, one more point is added to the total. A player cannot total more than seven points on any one hole. The player with the fewest strokes by the end of the round wins.
Rules
1. The golf club provided is called a putter. It is used for tapping the ball with, NOT to be used as a weapon. Do NOT hit anyone with the putter.
2. Do NOT use the putter as a shovel and try and dig up the ground with it.
3. NO sword fighting with the putters. It may sound stupid but I have seen people do it.
4. The ball should be tapped lightly with the putter. Do NOT whack the ball.
5. The mini golf course is here for your enjoyment so please take care of the equipment. Any damages and you can expect the repairs to come out of your pocket.
Please ensure that you read all the rules and abide by them. If you are caught breaking any of these rules, you will suffer points being deducted from your house and in some instances you could also find yourself in detention.

She wasn't going to mention the one side of the metal object has grips which indicates where your hands are supposed to go.
When he finally did figure it out she smiled at him and shook her head. "So, you want to go first or should I?"
He felt like a complete idiot now. Nell had just picked it up and worked it out without any trouble. Grinning embarrassedly at her as he scratched the back of his neck with his free hand, Edmund noted that she'd put the ball down on the floor. He definitely wanted her to go first since he couldn't even look at the putter and work out which way was up. He picked a blue ball up for himself and smiled back at her.
Tay nodded, "That is what everyone else seems to think but I dont know anymore..." Taylor sighed and frowned, shaking her head, "No... I would never ask for you to be a messanger..."
"Well, just be careful...But know that i'm still looking out for you." He said with a half smile. "But you're not asking, i'm offering. I want to help you, i mean i'm sure you'd like to communicate with him but it's hard face to face right?"

"Ladies first."
Drat. She had embarrassed him. Nell shot him an apologetic smile and a wink. This was supposed to be for fun so there was no reason he needed to get upset. Well, at least with her going first it would be his turn to laugh at her.
Carefully she placed the business end of the putter against her purple ball. She had stood there observing others for almost an hour so she had some idea how this was done. Nell swung back and tapped the ball. It rolled for about 3 feet and then came to a stop.
She put her hand on her hip and glared at the offending ball. She glanced at Edmund. "Use a little force at least."
Adjusting her visor, Selina stepped onto the mini golf course. When Nessie, her fellow ginger captain, had invited her out for a game of mini-golf Selina had eagerly accepted. Anything that was remotely competitive was right up Selina's alley; that, and she really wanted to try out this new, cool visor. Seriously, it was just the most awesome hat that she had ever seen... besides her bowler hat, but that was for her and Genevieve only.
Honestly, Selina was really looking forward to getting to play with Nessie today. The Hufflepuff Captain was really making an effort to hang out with Selina and the Gryffindor really admired her for that. Previous years of being captain had only proved to Selina that there was little to no comradeship between the houses. Whenever a game was done there were no handshakes, no congratulations, but perhaps she and Nessie could change that. At least within the confines of their own houses. The sixth year knew that she was going to encourage positive behavior with her team this year. Besides, all of the captains, minus Selina, were new. It could be a whole new ball game.
But today was not about comradeship or playing nice. No, today was about playing a serious, intense game of miniature golf. That was why Selina had dressed for the occasion. They could not play seriously if they were not dressed for the part. It was sort of an unspoken rule.
However, when she finally spotted Nessie, which was not hard due to her flaming red hair, she was a little taken aback. She ran up to her fellow captain and nodded quickly, "Hey Nessie," the real question on her mind though was, "Hey where is your golf visor?" Obviously she had one, right?
There Selina was! Nessie beamed for a few moments as she saw her fellow Captain in sight. The beam didn't last too long though, it turned into a straight face with Ness raising her brow at Selina.
What in the name of Merlin was this girl wearing?
*blink*
Wow. Selina probably had a huge passion for golf considering what she was wearing. Ness stared at the outfit for just a few seconds, but then looked away realising it wasn't the nicest thing to do to somebody. In fact if she had to be honest, there was nothing wrong with what Selina was wearing ,for a real golf course that was.
"Erm...You look well dressed" she also wanted to ask if Selina knew that it was just mini golf and not actual golf, but before she could do that Selina had managed to speak first. Straight face. She was supposed to wear one too? Gosh...Ness raised her brow even higher this time. "My..my golf visor? ....I..I don't have one." she said with a hint of confusion in her voice. There wasn't a chance she was going to put one of those silly hats on, not unless it was at least purple and seeing as there weren't any of them nearby there didn't seem to be a need to worry about them.
As Ness stopped with her confused look at Selina, she looked at the entrance of the golf course. The other two boys didn't seem to be here just yet, which suited Ness fine. She liked Selina more than the others anyways, and it wasn't just because she was a red head. It was because Selina had never given Ness a real reason to be mad, but then neither had Milton. Still Selina was the best out of those three.
"Anyways, should we wait for the others?" Hopefully this would distract Selina from the whole idea of making her wear a visor.
Yeah I broke that mirror, so what? ll NOT backward ll Official Gryfferin ll Lemon's favourite
This was the first hole, correct? Well it looked like it and Lex was eager to try her hand at the golf thing that everyone seemed to be so crazy about. With the putter slung over her shoulder and the little ball thingy safely in her pocktet she walked over to where she thought the starting point should be.
Though she hadn't officially started playing she could bet that she wouldn't have any fun. Just look at the rules!! Not only could she not whack the ball but she also couldn't whack other people with it either!! Now where was the fun in that?! Why give a kid a perfectly good weapon then tell them not to use it? It was madness! It was the same as knowing a kid had cavities, hanging them candy then telling them not to eat it! Personally she would have eaten anyway so that just proved her point even more. If no one else was tempted to take a swing at something other than the ball with the putter, she was!
It was just so shiny...and light; really the thing would have glided smoothly through the air before hitting her directed target. SIGH.
And now to focus on the game she had had promised herself she would learn. She put the ball down and gave a gentle swing because they said she had to.
O____O
Merlin, this wasn't much fun at all. Where was the reaction? The screaming by-standers hoping not the get hit? Psssh, this game wasn't all that fun....but she liked the way the putter felt in her hand.

Copying her, but giving a little more force, he watched the ball roll along. His grin was massive as he watched it get closer to the hole and stop a couple of feet to the left of it. Nessie didn't have a visor? How in Merlin's bloody beard were they supposed to play golf if she didn't have a visor? Everyone knew was the cardinal rule of golf to have a visor or least golf gloves. Honestly, the redhead had expected more from her fellow ginger. They were Quidditch captains, which meant they were competitive beings by ther nature. Competitve people just did not wear jeans to play mini golf.
And yet, Nessie was looking at Selina like she was the injured party. Today they were supposed to be playing a lovely round of golf, how could they playing now in Selina's good conscience if she knew that she didn't have a visor or golf glove? The sixth year had to figure out a way to rectify the situation. There were younger students around. Younger students who could not see their student leaders without a visor or a golf glove. Besides, Nessie and Selina had very similar hair; if Selina could work the visor so could Nessie.
Her blue eyes frantically looked around the miniature golf course to see if she could find anything that she could transfigure into a visor. It could've been anything. She would transfigure a golf ball, a golf club, afirst year- she didn't care what the object was as long as Nessie had a visor. With her eyes still on the prowl for an object to transfigure, Selina said, "I can see you don't have a visor. That's why I'm saying you need one. Don't worry I have this under control… I just need to find something here to make into a visor."
That was when Selina caught sight of a lovely golf ball that some ickle first year was putting. It was a pretty purple color- it would do. But she could not in good conscience take that golf ball, it was someone else's and this little kid would be very upset if she took it. So instead she ran over to where all the golf balls were kept in a huge bin to be used for the game. She felt around for a purple golf ball... And when she found one she transfigured it into a lovely purple visor.
Please with her work she ran over to Nessie and handed her the visor, "There you go. Now you look like you are ready to play miniature golf. Go on- put it on."
As soon as that was all settled, Selina tuned into Nessie's next question. There were going to be others joining them. Obviously Selina did not get that memo. Not that she minded in the least. More people just meant that she got to kick even more bums in miniature golf. Although, it was nothing personal- at least nothing personal against NESSIE- Selina was just very competitive.
Cocking an eyebrow in surprise she asked, "Sorry... The others? Who else are we playing against?" Secrets were no fun.
Her smile was cute. Too cute. Edmund beamed at her and leant against the putter as he watched her attempt to hit the ball. Pressing his lips together so he wouldn't laugh, he figured he probably wouldn't do any better. "I will." Nope. Wasn't laughing. He put his ball down and then positioned himself like Nell had done. This was just so muggle!
Her mouth dropped open as his little blue ball sailed well past hers and stopped a few feet short of the hole. Rolling her eyes Nell put a point down for each of them on the little score card. Walking up to her own ball she took another stance then hit the ball. This time it was enough force to hit it past the hole, it bounced off one of the side bumpers and rolled back towards her.
It was progress at least. Nell smiled and shrugged. "Hey can't be good at everything."
Since before term started Leobald had been curious to try his hand at the noble game of Mini golf after the new groundskeeper had spoken so highly of it in the staff room. Decking himself out in golf shoes which he had borrowed from his uncle along with a glove to go with it the dark mop haired librarian made his way out to the grounds.
The day looked promising too with the sun peeking out of the clouds and the temperature rising slowly. Entering the golf course area Leobald stopped at the entrance to get himself an instruction manual and a stick with a pointy end.
"Well, just be careful...But know that i'm still looking out for you." He said with a half smile. "But you're not asking, i'm offering. I want to help you, i mean i'm sure you'd like to communicate with him but it's hard face to face right?"
Tay nodded, "I will try..." She sighed and grimaced. "Yeah... it is hard to do it face to face right now... I dont know what happened but I... it is hard to explain." Taylor frowned and crossed her arms.

"Well, let me help you...You can tell me what you want to say and i'll tell him." He said with a half smile. "I know it might seem weird but it might be best until you can figure things out."

Maxwell shrugged. "I don't know, maybe just what you feel. About the break up, or him.." He said taking a turn at the fifth hole, another three strokes.

Tay did the hole in four strokes and sighed, "But that is the thing... I dont know what I feel." Taylor frowned, "It is like I am not in control of my emotions right now..."

Maxwell nodded. "Yeah, that's how it seems.." He said going to get their balls. "Do you feel that way about everything or just Damon?" He asked handing hers to her and walking to the sixth.

"Thanks..." She walked with him to the sixth, "Mainly just Damon..." Tay sighed.

Teehee! He was winning! Right? He watched her attempt a second time and beamed at her. "No, but at least you're hitting in the right direction." That was a bonus! He flashed her a cute grin and tapped his ball now. When it fell into the hole, he raised his eyebrows in surprise and stood over the hole, staring down at it for a moment.
How did he get the ball? Did he have to pick it up or would it...? He didn't even know! Heh. He crouched down and picked up the ball from the hole and looked back at Nell. "Was that right?" 'Cause she was the expert, right?
Tay shrugged, "Who knows..." She sighed and did the sixth in two strokes as well.
Maxwell continued the ritual of getting their balls. "I think I do...but i have no proof so it's whatever." he said with a sigh not wanting to argue his theory with her. He hoped that maybe since she ingested the cookies he assumed where cursed that they just needed to cycle through her system and she'd be fine. He walked her to the seventh hole.

Maxwell nodded. "I know, I'm not arguing with you. I know i need proof." He heard what she said and the shock of it cause him to swing awfully, resulting in four strokes at the seventh hole. "Tay, do me a favor please...If you want to prove me wrong and show me that Brodie is innocent. Don't eat the next thing he sends you...give it a few days and see if you feel better. Okay?" he asked.

"Nothing...if they're normal brownies...but what if someone's cursed them or mixed a potion in? Look i'm not saying i'm right and if i'm wrong i'll drop it, just try it, if only to prove me wrong, okay?" He said walking to get the balls.

Grinning right along with him Nell watched as he sank the ball in the hole. She wanted to giggle hysterically when he stared down at it. He hadn't read the rules so he obviously didn't know that he had to retrieve his own ball. Edmund did finally figure it out though.
Nodding her head Nell took the score card out and wrote down his final stroke. Again she lined herself up, took aim, and hit the ball. This time her purple ball sailed into the pocket. She did a little victory fist pump while grinning from ear to ear. She wrote down her own score.
"Alright hole number two." Hooking her arm through his she started along the little path. "So, how are you liking Hogwart's so far?"
