As you make your way down to the pasture for the first Care of Magical Creatures lesson of the term, and if this is not your first time visiting the place, you'll notice that the grassy area looks.. well, different. No creatures, besides the ones that Professor Newlin has hidden in the many cages scattered about can be seen.. or not seen, and how could you possibly miss the long covered table off to the side near the shed? What is in the cages and under the cover will stay a mystery.. for now.
Have yourself a seat on the grass, or stand if you'd rather! Not too close to those cages, though. Professor Newlin is there, laying on her stomach in the middle of the area, an open jar next to her and her finger stuck deep in the dirt.
There are worms in the dirt, after all.
OOC:This lesson will start later, later, laaaaater today. And I'm so nervous! The lesson has started! Please don't announce late arrivals. And I'm still nervous!
"PEEVES!" she turned around so quickly that the few worms that had landed on her flew right off. And they were already digging their way into the ground. Did he know how long it took her to collect them all!? "I swear to Merlin, I will march myself right into Hogwarts, grab the Bloody Baron by the chains and drag him out here if you do not leave." Idle threat? Yes. Because everyone knew that she wouldn't be able to grab the Baron's chains. Another heaving sigh and she turned back to the students.
Professor NO Fun say what? She wanted to MARCH? Well Peeves could help with that. Swooping down behind the Professor he started to yell out. "ONWARD MARCH! LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT RIGHT LEFT!"
He would have continued with his drill sergeant voice but he caught sight of...

They couldn't very well leave him there like that. He would scare all the little kiddies away with his dead self.

Oh no. It was a slytherin. A slytherin that was coming over and wanting to be her partner. Indy chewed on her lip, staring at him. She couldn't just totally ignore all slytherins because of Dylan right? Well. Obviously not Daichi. She liked Daichi too much to not be friends with him. She smiled at the boy. "Hi." And he seemed nice, he was smiling his little head off. "Sure!" She nodded, taking a little look around.
She kind of stared as she saw Beezus, with Dylan. She bit on her lip staring at them. So much for not losing her best friend. She frowned, and turned back to the other Slytherin. That was it. She didn't care about either of them anymore. She didn't need them. "I'm Indiana!" She nodded with a big smile. And then there were worms everywhere.
"Interesting..." She mused, picking one up from her shoulder, and dropping it down onto the floor. She wasn't scared of them. Her brother kept a spider in his hair after all. "So...the firecrabs?"
Okay. She isn't a grumpy girl like the one he met he couldn't remember where, when and whom. Good. Then, he noticed that she was glaring at something, so Xing turned his head to the direction where the girl was looking. "Oh! Beezus..." with a boy. Her boyfriend... Already? How time passes.
Before he forgot, "Oh! I'm... Xing! Nice to meet you," he responded to the introduction and when Indiana picked up a firecrab from her shoulder, he just stared. "They don't look like crabs..." frowned Xing as he looked at the creatures scattering around the place. The only crabs he knew were the edible ones.
So...Ella had been going to gather her supplies when Peeves happened. PEEVES. EEP!

The third year was suddenly covered in worms and dirt, feeling the little squirmies wriggling in her hair and a few down her robes. ICK. Without hesitation, the small blonde began to pick the worms out of her hair, watching with wide eyes as the other students and Professor Newlin reacted to the pesky poltergeist. That's right Professor, you tell him whose boss. PREACH.And as for the handful of worms Ella was now holding, she held it out in front of her with raised eyebrows, wondering where to put the things. There must be a jar or something for them, yeah?
And then Ella heard...was someone crying? The third year looked around and spotted a wibbling Theodore. OH MERLIN'S BEARD. She shook her head, noting that he was probably claiming Peeves had tried to MURDER him or something, and then proceeded to wiggle around. She really needed to get the rest of the worms from inside her robes. YUCK. As for the dirt that was now stuck in her hair. ...She wasn't pleased.
Oh...and did anyone need a partner? PLEASE?
Belle spotted Ella in the class. She wanted to be her partner. "Hey i am in need of a partner." Belle said and she tapped her on the shoulder. She hoped she recognized her from the common room. "I already got my supplies already."Belle smiled and gestured to her bucket and wash cloth.
Belle's eyes widened when she saw Peeves circling around the class. "Oh boy this is not gonna end well." Belle thought to herself.

She turned back to the guy and smiled. "It's nice to meet you too!" She wasn't going to let her annoying best friend and ex-boyfriend ruin one of her most favorite lessons. She loved this lesson, and like it a lot.
"They don't" She murmured with a little laugh. They didn't. They weren't like eating crabs were they. She giggled a little. "We need a bucket, and a cloth. andd.....something else that I forgot..." She mused with a laugh. Opps.

Belle saw all the worms falling out of her robs. "Egkk that is so gross!" Belle said and helped Ella pick some of the worms. They felt slimy and dirty. Belle smiled when she found a partner. Belle looked at Ella's stuff and saw they were dirty. Belle sighed and commented on Peeves, "Well you know Peeves he is always causing trouble..." she began when she saw Ella pointing at the guy he was burying. "Oh my god so much drama in this class so far. You ready to handle the fire crabs with all this drama going on??"
While Cassia's answer wasn't entirely wrong, Vanora shook her head and gave the cage that held the Fire Crab a little turn. "They don't actually breathe fire."
How many people would laugh if she said fart?
Turning away from Cassia, the smile she was wearing instantly faded when she glanced at.. Daichi? That was his name, right? He may not have introduced himself, but she had heard Kurumi talking to him. Not that she was really listening..
"Why?" her eyebrows raised slightly, "Because that's what we're going to be working with today?" Would he rather dig for worms!?
"Well, I've never heard of a Fire Crab burning off someone's nose." But then again, she didn't know anyone who would want their nose that close to its rear.
"But it will try to defend itself." So really, whichever body part was closest would be in danger.

Vanora shifted herself on the ground more comfortably, and was just about to get into a very long winded speech to answer when another student spoke up. Actually, it was that Ravenclaw who spoke up. Who.. wasn't all that wrong. "They're actually not dumb creatures." And if she was holding the Fire Crab on her lap like she wanted to, she would have covered his ears so he wouldn't have to hear such insults.
"Their shells are heavy, so yes, it does slow them down a bit. And while they can defend themselves to some extent, it's not enough. People who hunt Fire Crabs, poachers, they don't exactly travel on their own. And even if they do travel on their own, it's not that difficult to capture," or kill, "a Fire Crab. The shells are hard and impenetrable, but the rest of the creature is not."
And she didn't know what rear-mirrors would do to help, so she didn't even mention them. She gave the Hufflepuff a smile, though. That answered the question?
Scary!?
Vanora lifted the cage of the Fire Crab and moved her face closer. How could anyone think that? They were cute! And their shells were shiny. "That's just an opinion."
"That could go either way, you know. The Fire Crabs may have adapted to the heat and the fire, but no one really knows if they like it." Fire does come out of its rear.
Did the creatures really like that? Hmm.
Err..
Okay..
Vanora blinked up at the boy, and it may have taken her a moment to think of what to say. That was.. just wrong on so many levels. "There may be something wrong with you if you are comparing the looks and temperature of a Fire Crab to the girls of Hogwarts." She was going to talk to Cece about checking that one out.
That answer seemed oddly, oddly familiar. And it only took her a second to realize why.
"Right. No one should ride them." And if the girl was thinking it.. "The fire does not make it move faster."

Vanora listened to the rest of the students give their answers, even chuckling at the couple who mentioned the Fire Crab's 'bathroom' habits. Thankfully, the creatures that she had caged had already been fed and even did their stuff beforehand. That would have been quite a mess.
Anyway..
"Right. So, as the rest of you said, Fire Crabs are native to the islands of Fiji. And as you can see." she pointed to the Fire Crab in the cage before slowly opening the door of it, so she could grab him once he made his way out. If he ever made his way out, "Despite its six legs, it has more of a resemblance to that of a turtle. The jeweled shell, which a few of you said could be fitted with either rubies, sapphires or emeralds, is highly valuable for both wizards and muggles. Wizards use the shell as a cauldron because its much harder than any material and won't burn as easily. The muggles use it for the jewels." Both selfish. "There is something that neither a crab or turtle can do, but the Fire Crab can. If the creature feels threatened, or even annoyed," as Theodore said, "they defend themselves by shooting a jet of flame from their.. well, their butts." No laughing, please. "Also, I don't know how," and she didn't want to either, "but Rubeus Hagrid somehow mated a Fire Crab and a Manticore to create the Blast-Ended Skrewts." But enough about them.
"And while there is a reserve, which I worked at before coming to Hogwarts, Fire Crab poaching is still happening and the number of creatures decrease each year." Sad, right? "They shouldn't be kept as pets." Even if the Ministry says people could. "But that is just my opinion."
Picking up the Fire Crab once he was out of the cage, Professor Newlin held it gently in her arms as she stood from the ground. She pulled out her wand, flicking it in the direction of the rest of the cages and the table by the shed, causing all the covers to come off. She may have forgotten about the jar of worms..
"As you can see, there are enough Fire Crabs for each of you." She glanced over at Daichi, if that was his name, and Kai, giving them both a small smile. "But if you'd rather work in pairs, that is fine."
"If there aren't any questions, I'd like you all to grab a bucket, a brush and a washcloth from off the table, then stand by one of the cages. Don't let the Fire Crabs out just yet. We'll have to get the water ready first."
Yup. They were going to be cleaning a Fire Crab.
OOC: Okay! If your character doesn't have any question, have them go over and pick up their supplies then pick out a Fire Crab to stand by! This does not have to be done in one post, you can RP finding a partner if you'd like. Or just talking, whatever. We'll start the activity in about.. 36 hours. So you all have time to post. =D Partners should have two Fire Crabs.
Harlow's heart sank when the professor told them to grab a partner. She didn't know anyone in her class and everyone looked like they already knew who they wanted to work with.
NO use standing around looking silly, she stood up and weaved around everyone to get to the supplies. This wasn't hard as she was easily the smallest and shortest person (including the first years) in the class.

And then Peeves came and Ari saw him pick up the jar of Worms and she instinctively ducked down and tried to use Cardigan as a sheild but to no Avail she was covered in several worms and ariana sprang to her feet shoving cardigan out of the way.. possibly knocking her over Ariana didnt bother to see if she had fell. she squirmed and squeaked getting all the worms off of her. "ohh get um off get um off get um OFFFFF." yes she was a girl and NO she did NOT LIKE WORMS. She looked at cardigan "Don't just stand there, get them off meee." This girl was USELESS.. she was defiantly being set on fire
She looked around and noticed only several people reacting he way she was over the worms, including Kurumi and Little baby Theo... was.. was he crying....
She watched an saw him open his to kurumi which only meant one thing.. Theo Kinsley ate a worm..... UGHH "Professor are worms good to eat if you were to swallow one because i think Mr Kingsley Might need some help." she said pointing to the Crying slytherin boy
Ariana had gotten all the worms off of her and they were going back into the dirt 'bye bye suckers.' she said as she gave the worms a mental wave goodbye
EEEWW NO! Why would cardigan want to help her?! She just PUSHED her to the ground!!! Nope nope nope! Ariana wouldn't be getting ANY help from her.
She didn't even deserve the help. Of course, she DID help Cardigan at the train station, but that didn't count anymore. Ariana was back to being a mean old hag. Her plain to annoy Ariana out of her right mind was off to a good start! Step 1: Force her to partner up. Step 2: refuse to do anything for her. "You really expect me to help you?! I'd do that, but then that'd mean being nice to you. Besides, you PUSHED me to the ground!" What goes around comes around.
When were they gonna start?? Cardigan was really antsy. Sigh. They'd probably have to wait until Peeves left, which would probably take a while. Would they have to emergency cancel the lesson??!!
The Professor said some stuff about fire crabs, most of which she already knew then mentioned something about an activity in pairs with the crabs
"Ooh partners! Because I'm such a social magnet" she says sarcastically.
Helen was quite saddened and reluctant to find a partner as she didnt know anyone that well in the class to be partners with them straight away. She looked around and saw that most people had now found their partners and that it was really only just her.
"Great - what a great lesson this is turning out to be" she said before going to grab the equipment and stand by a cage of crabs.
She might as well do it by herself if no one was going to approach her about being partners.
Before she assumed that no one wanted to be her partner, first she said "Anyone want to be my partner?" so it was all clear that she had made the effort to find one and so she wouldnt look like an anti-social loner freak because she wasnt. She had friends but just not many magical ones in this particular class.
Those piercing blues was shifting between caged crab to caged crab rather carefully. He cares for Creatures very much indeed, but bathing them where he was 1.) ill trained in handling them and 2.) has vested interest in keeping his eyebrows singed-free has him considering which crab to take carefully. Suddenly he lurched forward when he felt someone tackle him from behind. Lurching forward he gripped the arm around his torso but the smile tugged at his lips almost at the same time. He knows that voice.
Partners? "Sure why not?" he grinned back, that kind of smarty grin that gives more than what his words meant. But as Louisa neared a cage and grabbed the nearest one any word of caution he wanted to say was caught in his throat. Mouth slightly agape he eyed the cage she dragged along with her.
The firecrab was..... asleep?
"Well lets hope it stays this calm when we work with it huh?" He smiles cautiously as he took the crab cage from her. What a way to test if their luck would hold today eh?
And as if the wicked Fates heard that challenge-- Peeves showed up.
He winced as the worm-rain started to fall, using himself (and the caged firecrab) to shield Louisa. Ok that was incredibly.... disgusting and infuriating. Disgusting because they were worms. Infuriating because they were collected baithelpless worms.
He heard the Professor holler at them about not harming the worms "Of course... ' he muttered as he checked Louisa over for any worm that may have slipped past him. "You ok?" he mumbled at the ginger Head Girl.
And the fire crab in the cage? It just woke up. Oh and look-- squirmy, slimy breakfast in bed!
Unaware of how lucky she was by being able to drag a cage slightly to the side without any difficulties, Louisa stood close to Vickers grinning at the calm creature.
Not for long, though. In an instant, the sky started pouring WORMS!! EWWW! But before she could even freak out and flail and all that jazz, Vickers was serving as her umbrella. Louisa kind of took advantage of this without hesitation, clutching his shirt and burying her face into it. No one has to hear her squeaking. She didn't feel any icky slimey stuff falling on her thankfully, but the worm!rain didn't really last that long unfortunately and soon Louisa found herself pulling away from her boyfriend.
"Thank you!!" She beamed up at him and if the stupid students and professor and undead ghost weren't around, the Ravenclaw girl would've pressed her mouth to his. As it was the case, she just gave him a sparkly eye smile. HE SAVED HER! :3

...she was very comfortably staring at Vickers and checking his hawwwtttt self for any left worms, not that she was going to TOUCH them but she could squeak!warn him about it, but then the poltergeist screeched something about a dead kid. That snapped the Head Girl out of it and with a frown she looked at the sound's source to find Peeves shoving dirt on-- "Nigel!" Grabbing Vickers' hand and dragging him with her, she ran toward the ghost. "Nigel?" She was sure the boy didn't just drop dead from worms. "Get away from him! Shoo shoo!" She tried to kick the wicked humorous Peeves, her foot going right through his bum.

....hahaha. Aspen snorted and used her hand to try and hide her grin. SOMEONE, Dylan, had an admirer.
"Lovely." Haha.
Hannah whipped around and eyed the claw that was mocking her. "Yes, lovely!" Was there an issue? It wasn't as if Hannah wanted to marry Dylan or anything. He was a Slytherin and the Quidditch captain so he was automatically pretty awesome in her book. Although he was handsome, athletic and that body...Merlin! What was wrong with Hannah? This was so unlike her. She needed to focus! She looked away before she could blush.

At the word jewels Elliot's ears perked Up. They were..preeeeetty. And why would only muggles want them for their jewels? Elliot wanted a firecrab. And NOW. She thought about sending a letter to her father immediately following class and asking for a firecrab. She just wanted a jeweled pet. SO PRETTY!
She raised her hand, though. "So, Professor, Muggles about these creatures?" Shewanted to know..since they used the jewels? Weird.
And she turned to Hannah, "Wanna' work together? Silly me. Of COURSE you do," she said with a smirk as she went to go get two firecrab cages...okaaaaay...she came back and handed one to the Slytherin. Heh. She waited for further instruction.

Elliot jumped up, seeing the STUPID poltergeist! She saw it coming before he did it....she covered her face, ducking a bit....but she felt them...IN HER HAIR.
"PROFESSOR GET THEM OUT! THEIR IN MY HAIR GET THEM OUT GET THEM OUT!!" she yelped, jumping around and shaking her head towards the ground..Merlin...she was flailing around like an IDIOT. She "MY HAAAAAAAIR!" Her beautiful, blonde hair.
HAD WORMS IN IT.
Worms. She turned to Hannah, still flailing about and looking like she was having a spasm..."Haaaanaaah!" she cried, wibbling a little.
ELLIOT HATED WORMS!
Hannah merely shook her head when Elliot tried to tell her that Lottie was not a normal puff. She was a puff right? Whatevs! She put it out of her mind for now. She kept thinking about her thoughts from earlier. Before that OLD ravenclaw mocked her about Dylan she would have never thought twice about him, but now... She needed to get a grip.
The professor was moving on though so she just focused on the activity. She would sort everything else out later. "You couldn't get a better partner if you tried." Not to toot her horn or anything, but TOOT!! TOOT!!
Hannah waited while Elliot went to get them a crab cage. How nice of Elliot to go fetch them. "Shall I go get the......" but she never finished her sentence because Peeves happened.
Worms...everywhere. O____O
Hannah did not do dirty, wet or creepy crawly things. She didn't know how she managed to not get any on her, but it didn't seem like Elliot was so lucky. She heard her before she saw her. EEEEP! What did she want her to do? She wasn't going to touch them...no sir!!!
"Ahhh...hellllp" so she decided to scream with her. Then she saw her prefect come over and save the day. Thank merlin...she couldn't have done it. "Well this has been fun."

Richard blinked at the girl for a moment. What had she just done? Mimicking him for real? He seemed to be surprised for a moment then, he had to admit, he found it pretty funny. This was...something, was not she? He wondered if Fire Crabs, especially the Fire Crab that she would pick, would know how to mimick people as well. Rich eyed her for a bit longer before raising his eyebrows. ''Lame performance, dove.'' he said after a laugh and turned on his hells to find a Fire Crab for himself.

Rich had no doubt that the professor would agree with him on that. No sleeping during a class.
Once he chose a random Fire Crab which had shiny red jewels on it, he approached the girl with curly hair and gave her a short wave after putting the bucket down. ''Hi , pretty!'' he said eyeing her a bit. ''What would you say if i asked you if you would like to deal with these creatures together?''
And seriously...
''Whatever you are doing there, make sure you face the fiery beast so it won't shoot any fiery thing on you.''
Like fiery poop or just fire itself.

Nigel was enjoying his nap. It would have been even better if somebody wasn't throwing dirt on him. It seemed that Peeves was yelling something about someone. Nigel wasn't sure about who. Only when Nigel hears Louisa say his name. That he pieced it together. Peeves was telling everybody that that he was dead. Dead?
O_____________O Well Nigel knew for sure he was not dead. He was only taking a nap. He opened his eyes just to check that he was still living. Yep, still in CoMC class.
Nigel sits up, just to see Louisa try a kick a ghost. Nigel slightly confused wonder what he missed. "Did I miss something" Nigel asked Louisa. He guessed it was now time to get his fire crab before the Professor noticed. He walks over to a fire crab cage with all things he needed

Harlow squeaked and jumped like she had been electrocuted when a male voice spoke to her. "Holy Merlin you scared me." She said standing up and facing him. Looking at him she finally noticed he was a fellow Slytherin.
She fidgeted with her sleeve. She wasn't usually this nervous around anyone, but this boy made her nervous. "Oh um well. If you want to..I mean there are others you know." she rambled then stopped.
Harlow picked herself up out of the dirt. "I was just um making sure the dirt was alright. Can't be too careful with dirt." Merlin she knew her face was on fire. She could feel the heat down in her toes. He had caught her trying to hide from him. "Sure partners." There she answered him.

Minerva was standing with the warms carefully in her hand waiting on the professor to let her know where to place them when she heard people screaming about the worms.. REALLY?? They are worms, they won't hurt you.. Geeze these girly girls she thought. Then the one voice she heard came from her friend. "Ariana Logan they will not hurt you. Just pick them out.. BUT don't hurt them please." No Minerva hated the thought of living things being harmed. She couldn't even hurt spiders and she didn't like them.
Then Peeves was at it again, "Peeves.. You are so funny, I just love when you come around, but I thought I heard that some first years were ummm.. needing your assistance at the castle. They might need some help learning how to be a great joker like you. So could we get back to our lesson and you go have fun with them?" Minerva knew he might not believe her, but she wanted to try and help getting him away from the worms and Fire Crabs before he caused harm to any of them or before he caused harm on any students.
She went back to looking around for a partner since Ariana had one already. "Does anyone still need a partner, once I put the worms in a safe place I can be someones partner for the activity." she smiled looking around hoping someone would want to work with her.

Someone then came up to Tag and told him she also needed a partner. He looked around himself and it seemed a lot of students were already partnered up. Especially some of his friends. But there was nothing wrong with meeting new friends or classmates. So he nodded his little head at the girl, besides she seemed a bit older than him so she may know more spells and such.
He went over to the table and grabbed the bucket, towel and brush and handed the girl the bucket. "I'm Tag." Tag said to the girl with a hand held out for her.

Ethan raised a speculative eyebrow as the professor began speaking about the practical part of the lesson. Err... what? They were meant to bathe those creatures? Ethan eyed the cages warily. Sure, the boy was opposed to hurting them... but he didn't want them to hurt him. He briefly wondered how often people got burned handling those things when he heard the professor mention working with partners. Hmm, that might be a good idea - less chance of getting burned, somehow... or more likely? The 5th year was just about to ask the Ravenclaw girl (Helen) who had spoken to him at the beginning of class to partner up when chaos broke out.
Another ghost? Ethan watched curiously for a moment then ducked and covered his head with his arm when worms started flying everywhere. He didn't really have a problem with worms but he didn't necessarily want to be covered with them. When it seemed Peeves was finished with the worm assault, Ethan brushed a few from his shoulders. He raised an eyebrow, then rolled his eyes at the reaction of many of the girls in the class. For Merlin's sake, they were only worms! Girls could be such drama queens...
After the excitement died down, Ethan turned back to his fellow Claw, but it seemed she had found another partner. Shrugging to himself, he started over to the cages to begin his work. He certainly wouldn't be opposed to having a partner, but he'd get started with his work in the meantime.

Now that Nigel thought about why not have a partner. He walks up to her and asks "Hi, I'm Nigel do you want to be partners?" It sounded like it would be more fun with a partner than by yourself and since he can't take a nap. Taking care of a fire crab was what he had to do.

She didn't even deserve the help. Of course, she DID help Cardigan at the train station, but that didn't count anymore. Ariana was back to being a mean old hag. Her plain to annoy Ariana out of her right mind was off to a good start! Step 1: Force her to partner up. Step 2: refuse to do anything for her. "You really expect me to help you?! I'd do that, but then that'd mean being nice to you. Besides, you PUSHED me to the ground!" What goes around comes around.
When were they gonna start?? Cardigan was really antsy. Sigh. They'd probably have to wait until Peeves left, which would probably take a while. Would they have to emergency cancel the lesson??!!

Fire Crabs, eh? Well, not as exciting as dragons, but not boring either. Just so long as she didn’t get burned. Silvia sat scribbling down notes as they came, then stashed them in her bag when the new professor began to give the instructions for the day’s activity.
A bucket, a brush, and a washcloth. So, they were bathing the fire crabs? Should they be wearing their dragon hide gloves or other protective gear for this, just in case? Silvia stood up and retrieved the needed supplies.

As she headed towards the cages, wondering which one to stand next to, a long time no heard but somewhat familiar voice let out a shriek. Peeves! What was he up to now? And Silvia doubted there really was a fire yet. And then she felt something plop down on her shoulder. And then another something on her other shoulder, and one that seemed to hit the side of her head before tumbling down to the ground. Silvia looked down at one of her shoulders.
Worms. EWWW.
She dropped her bucket and quickly swiped and flicked at the disgusting things, trying to get them off her. Then she reached up and touched her hair, nervously feeling around for any more. She was not going to help the professor by collecting the worms that fell on her.
And if anyone had been paying any attention to the usually quiet Ravenclaw, they just might have noticed that she shuddered a bit in disgust as her arms scrambled about trying to brush the worms off.

But finally the rain of worms seemed to stop. Darn that Peeves. Picking up the bucket and other supplies from the ground, Silvia shook them to make sure there weren’t any worms on them and went to stand next to a nearby fire crab cage, wondering whether or not she should find a partner.
Wait, WHAT was Peeves doing now? She looked around and saw Peeves…burying a student?

Richard eyed this girl a bit more in silence, more a moment or so, as he frequently did with other people, especially girls. She was not bad at all. Not bad at all. Unlike the others he had met so far, she was neither fesity nor moody. Not unfriendly, either. So perhaps...she was no Fire Crab. He laughed when she did admit that he had scared her. A little bit jumpy, huh? Was she?
There were others. Rich raised his eyebrows ''Yeah, i am kinda aware of that.'' She was either shy or did not really cared about him being there asking to be partners. It was hard to tell which one. Girls at Hogwarts; they were all difficult in some way or another. And this one was not only like that but also...a bit weird as she was checking the dirt if it was alright. Eh...that was another common thing among people at Hogwarts, apparently.
''I don't think that's necessary unless you are a worm, partner.'' Richard said ''Anyway...so, how do you think we are going to take care of these creatures? They don't look like they need any help to me.''

Harlow tried not to squirm as the boy looked at her. Harlow tugged at her hair and tried to fix her cloak. She didn't understand why she cared whether or not boys looked at her. She was sure boys had looked at her before. She wasn't ugly, and the boy had called her pretty hadn't he?
But this boy looking at her did make her squirm. She forced herself to stay still, but there was nothing she could do about the full body blush she had going on.
Oh great now he thought she was stupid. That was terrific. Great first impression Harlow. She wanted to kick herself, but she wasn't tall enough. Oh right fire crabs. She turned and looked at the one she had selected. "Maybe we need to feed it or something." she offered. It was lame, but it was all her brain could spit out right now.
