| | The Duck Pond Ducks, fifteen in all and quite possibly already named, live in this pond. Go on, take a seat on the rocky ledge and dip your feet into the water! Rest assured, these ducks will not bite, but if you just so happen to have any type of bread or cookies on you at the time, the ducks have been known to take without asking.
Waylon keeps a good eye on the pond and the ducks, so no funny business. |

Plus, it couldn't be held against her, since he had pushed her in as well. She held her self up, being sure to paddle under the water so that the boy couldn't copy her movements. "I'd rather believe a little person like me than an old bloke like you. Who's mean. And can't even swim," Scoff.
This wasn't too bad. Plus, it was fun watching him flail. Heh. Edric yelped as he suddenly found his feet slipping from the ground and his body falling back into the chilly pond water, an evil little hand wrapped around his ankle.
Had she seriously just dragged him back into the water?! WHILE thinking that he couldn't swim?!
It was a good thing swimming was actually one of the boy's favourite sports or else she would've been the youngest murderer in Hogwarts. And he'd be dead. 'Cause obviously the girl didn't care if she killed someone just to get back at them for what, being liked better by the ducks? Merlin. Imagine what she'd do if you actually DID do something offensive.
As the evil aspiring murderer began to paddle away, Edric disappeared under the water. Oh, no way was she just leaving like it was nothing. A creature like her deserved to drown in that pond. So, Edric reached out under the water and grabbed the girl's foot, pulling her toward him and deeper into the water. He wasn't a murderer like her, though, so he dismissed the idea of stepping on her head and letting her pass out. Instead he swam away.
By now the ducks had given up on trying to get any food from the two lunatics.

That didn't help his mood. "Kennedy threw it into the bloody lake." Milton glared. Stupid Prefect. And that was after he'd already been hexed and knocked to the ground. Which was extremely embarrassing, so he kept that part to himself. Then he mumbled something under his breath that sounded an awful lot like 'Iwannariphisheadoff'. "Oh." Okkaaaaaaaaaaaaay. Taryn was sort of distracted thinking about how in the world Milton was supposed to do his school work without his wand when he spoke again.
Blink.
"Why would he do that? He's a prefect for Merlin's sake, that is NOT a good example to set." No, no, no, no, no, it was not! She didn't quite catch what he had mumbled after all that, but it didn't sound too good. |

And yes, he was a prefect. And no, it wasn't a good example to make. "Yeah, I know that!" Milton said, snapping a little. He was normally a grumpy person. The welt on his stomach still hurt too, which obviously didn't make him any happier. "This is why I generally dislike people." Hmph.

He could swim! And murder. At the same time. And he did so to Alice, pulling her by the ankles, deeper and deeper into the water. The nerve! The lioness grabbed his arm before she fell too deep, though, and latched onto him as he swam to shore. She felt the need to dunk his head under the water, but figured it would be pointless, so she was about to let him out of the water. Until she saw it.
A little chunk of soggy bread floating on the surface of the Pond.
OH. This was going to be good. The ducks had long since left the two childish students alone, but Alice could see that some of the animals had caught sight of the bread. She grabbed chunk of grain out of their reach and quickly led them over to the boy, dropping the piece down the back of his robes. She hoped that even if the ducks didn't do as she hoped, the slimy, rotting bread down his back would, at the least, shake him up. But, quickly enough, the ducks started yapping at the boy's back. She hoped they got a good chunk out of him.
She sat back and a devilish smirk appeared on the third year's face as she watched the ducks swarm over the boy and latch onto his clothing. HEH. "I WIN!!"

But Edric, with his robes and uniform glued to his body from the amount of water they were carrying, obviously could feel something land on his back. He didn't pay much attention to it, though, assuming that with his luck some bird had probably pooped on his back or something.
It's the kind of thing that would happen to Scrooge.
As the ducks began to chase after Edric, though, the boy realized whatever was on his back could not have been nasty. At all. Actually, it must've been quite delicious. Something ducks were fed all the time…
And as the evil blonde witch began her "I win!" chant again - it was beginning to make Edric's ears bleed by now - the pieces began to click together and make sense.
In a flash, Edric pulled off his robe and threw it into the water, piece of soggy bread and all. The ducks chased after it, leaving the boy soaked and his arms exposed to the chilly wind. Again, it was a good thing he loved the kind of temperature that would turn a normal person into frost.
Edric rolled his eyes at the cheerful girl. "Do you?" She won? Really? "'Cause that's my robe those ducks are chasing after. Not yours." Hmph. Annoying girl, making him lose his robe.

He was watchin' you, DUCKS.
Theo glared and stared, and was pretty much convinced that the ducks looked evil today. He didn't come down here too often, because he was scared every time a 'QUACK' was heard. This was no different.
The first year tip-toed around them, then sat very slowly down on the grass, and dipped his bare feet into the lake.
Why was he even here?
Eh... he just continued to watch those ducks, like a HAWK.

She did win. But she still felt kind of bad about being mean to the boy, even though he was, no doubt, a troll. So the soggy little girl stomped out of the water and gave the half-naked boy her coat that she had shed before jumping into the lake while keeping a hand over her eyes so that she wouldn't catch a glimpse of him. "Y-you had better t-take this or I'll p-push you in again," Alice said, sticking her tongue out in what she hoped was the general direction of the boy. Eh... he just continued to watch those ducks, like a HAWK. Erin visited the duck pond. Guess, she needed some quality for herself. She'd drowned herself of studying lately and these quiet walks at the grounds would probably make her feel better. "Aaaa-chuuuu!" Erin blurted out blowing her nose on her pink handkerchief.
She took a seat to the duck pond removing her shoes and dipping her feet on the water. She took a glance on her right and saw an equally disinterested boy. He clearly didn't want to be here. So, why was he in here anyways? To watch the ducks fly? Erin heard this little boy was kind of dreaming to be a superhero. Or somewhere between those lines.

Duck Chow hadn't beaten her. 'Cause he had almost been eaten by ducks. Yupp. Edric hadn't expected what followed. He hadn't expected it at all.
The little blonde demon had just OFFERED her coat to him in an… act of kindness. Who knew she was capable of such a thing?! Certainly not her almost-murder victim!
As the girl covered her eyes and stuttered out that he'd better take the coat or else she'd push him in the water again, Edric gave her a look.
"Don't be stupid," he said simply, turning away for a moment to shake the water off his head like some sort of dog. "You can't even talk properly with all that shivering. Keep it," he continued, turning back to the unusual girl. Had the boy felt more evil, he would've taken the coat, worn it, and then kicked the girl back in the water. HOWEVER. Our little ogre does have feelings and some minor, nearly non-existent form of consideration and morals, so somewhere in the back of his head a little voice said it was bad manners to take a lady's coat when she was shivering to death, even if she was offering - or rather, threatening him to take it.
Either way, the girl's coat was only some 20 sizes too small for him.
And then she gave him a new nickname.
Seriously? First he was Shrek, then he was Eddy, now he was… Duck Chow? Edric tried not to laugh because he didn't want the little blonde demon to realize he found her funny, which would be a compliment. So he looked away for a moment with a hand casually over his lips to cough-laugh before turning back to the evil one.
"My name's Edric Barlow, not Duck Chow."
"And I thought the competition was about ducks, not who can keep their coat longer," he replied to her last statement. Sheesh, she was never going to give this up, was she? Would she stop being a pain if he told her that she'd won? Was that what she wanted to hear?

Would she stop being a pain if he told her that she'd won? Was that what she wanted to hear? Alice grinned at the shock spreading across the boy's face. "It's n-not possible for me to b-be stupid; I'm the smartest p-person I know." BEAM. The small girl shook her coat at the boy again. "You h-had better t-take it," she warned, her eyes still squeezed tightly shut behind her palm. "So I c-can open m-my eyes and see if you're g-going to push m-me in again." 'Cause that was probably something on Mr. Scrooge's To-Do List. o_____________O
She was warming up to Duck Chow when he cough-giggled. COUGH-GIGGLING. His giggle was quite funny; something between a hoarse, croaking frog and a dying cat, with a hint of his raspy voice in there somewhere. Heh. The lioness quite liked funny laughs, and she beamed at the boy again. He wasn't that awful when he wasn't pushing her into the Pond and trying to drown her, was he? "I think Duck Chow is quite a nice nickname, don't you?" BEAM SOME MORE.
Edric Barlow? Hmph. That name was nothing in comparison to Alice's well thought out nickname. "I'd rather Duck Chow," she decided. Yupp. Scrooge the Duck Chow. Heh. That had a lovely ring to it, did it not? "No. It was just a competition to.. err.." The third year rubbed her chin in thought and finally snapped her fingers. "To see who won! That's it!" That would totally be the moment that a light bulb popped up above her head in the movies.
Oh. Was she supposed to introduce herself now? OH. "I'm Alice Fischer. But you can refer to me as the Queen of the World. Or the Little Demon. Either works." She shrugged at Duck Chow. She rather liked him, now that he wasn't being a pain anymore.

Edric rolled his eyes as the blonde small person went on about how she, herself, was the smartest person she knew, watching as she clumsily shook the coat at him. Why couldn't she just give up? Merlin. Clearly that was something she'd never done before.
With a reluctant sigh, Edric snatched the coat from the shivering, blind girl. He was not going to keep it. However, he wasn't about to get romantic with the little demon and place it on her. Psh. So instead, he aimed and threw it back at the girl, allowing the coat to land draped over her head and shoulders.
"Open your eyes and just put on the coat, will you?" He wasn't going to ask again; the demon wasn't his responsibility.
Aaaand then she was going on about 'Duck Chow' being a nice nickname. " No."
A competition to see who won?
Oh Merlin.
Edric didn't even bother to respond this time. The girl was making no sense, but where was the point in trying to explain that to her? She'd just keep going on about winning; it'd be like fighting a four-year-old. Eddy was too old for that now.
" Queen of the world?" the Gryffindor repeated incredulously. Well, she certainly thought highly of herself. He preferred the second option. "Little Demon it is, then. That's suiting," he decided with a nod, looking quite pleased to finally have an appropriate name to match that evil little face.

That's suiting," he decided with a nod, looking quite pleased to finally have an appropriate name to match that evil little face. There was a long pause, and the lioness squinted harder. Her nose crinkled as she tried to detect what the boy was doing. Was he going to push her into the Pond again? Thankfully, he took the coat, and Alice was getting ready to open her eyes again, when the coat landed on her head. Frowning, the little girl tossed it back at duck Chow. "I c-can't open m-my eyes!" she complained, wringing her hands in frustration. "If I d-do, I'll see you, and I c-can't do that. You're h-half-naked. And b-boys are gross. I c-can't see one without h-his robes on!" Eww. He really expected her to look? People these days!
Another long, awkward silence passed between them and the third year assumed it would go away if she opened her eyes. Duck Chow was probably rolling his eyes, or sticking his tongue out. But she would not look.
Boys were GWOSS. Hadn't they gone over this? "Y-yes," Alice said proudly. BEAM. "I'm g-going to rule the w-world one day. If you w-want, you can b-be my maid. I can f-find you a s-special outfit and everyth-thing!" BEAM SOME MORE. She could just picture Duck Chow in one of those maid dresses, with an apron 'round his wist and a duster in his hands! The lioness could even make him a hat! Or. If he was a very cooperative maid, she could give him THE Hat. But she couldn't do that, could she? Even if he wanted to be a scary maid. She wanted to use the Hat on Evelyn first. "Little D-demon. Heh. I l-like that." SUPER BEAM. "B-but how is it s-so suiting? I wouldn't b-be using it as something to t-tease me with. It's n-not very n-nice. After all, Duck Ch-chow isn't teasing! It's j-just.. err.. special! Yes, th-that's it." If something came after the SUPER BEAM, Duck Chow would have gotten it. But she must have looked really odd smiling with her eyes closed.

Harvey walked down to the duck pond to visit the ducks, he hadn't been here in a while and thought that he should come with some pieces of bread as he remembered how the ducks loved their bread. He reached the pond edge and sat down, picking at the piece of bread he started to feed the ducks afterall he had to stay on their good side. he chuckled to himself as he thought of his and Ella's little joke.
