Violet turned around when she heard her name called. "Oh hey Lily! Sure we can be partners." She went to the front of the class and got a bright blue ball. It was one of the few that were left in the box and went back over to Lily. She threw the ball lightly to her.

Nigel was shocked and amazed the instead of doing what we were suppose to do, she hit it with her hands and now it was coming back at him. Oh no Nigel thought this was not good. It was coming back at him too fast for him to do the spell again. So there so only one thing left to do DUCK.

Nigel tried to duck and the ball sailed right off his head and went somewhere in the classroom. "Oww that hurt" Nigel said. But not as bad as he thought it would. He was thankful it was only a bouncing ball and not a baseball. Now he probably had to go get it. He hoped it did not hit anybody else.

He appeared still calm and asked Laura "Um do you think we should go and get it or should we get a new one and start over". Nigel was still amazed that she hit it with her hand and it hit him.

A wave. He got a wave. Did that mean they wer partners now? Lewis was quite unfamiliar with this type of communication but he waved back anyway. It seemed like the right thing to d-

OMG! HE HAD JUST DRAWN HIS WAND ON HIM!

Lewis hurried to reach for his wand as well when the Slytherin Prefect suddenly had his own in his hand. What was going...oh, right, they were in Charms class. They were bound to be using their wands at some point. And they definitely had to use them for the Hover Charm. So why was he being so paranoid again? It was what had happened with Gwen during that Care of Magical Creatures lesson all over again. He really needed to relax a little.

Blushing a little, he just hoped the other boy hadn't noticed anything off about him. No, he was a perfectly normal Hufflepuff. "Y-you can go first." Lewis finally replied once they were standing opposite each other, lowering his wand a little and nodding at the Slytherin. Because if the Slytherin Prefect went first and Lewis accidentally dropped him later then he didn't have any possibility to get revenge or anything anymore. Yes, he'd thought this through.

Laura looked at Nigel. "I'm sorry Nigel at my Primary school I was a good cricket person and well when I see a ball coming like that reflexes take over." Laura smiled. "Anyway I hope your okay."

Laura hoped that Nigel wasn't mad with her but in someways she was happy that she hadn't lost her touch, then Nigel was saying something. "I have no idea, did you see which way the ball went?" Laura walked upto Nigel and smiled. "What do you think?"

Nigel was alright and now was thinking about get a new ball other than look through the class full of people doing the lesson. "It's ok Laura i'm just happy it was just a bouncy ball and not a cricket ball. Lets just get a new ball and start over."

He walks over to the remaining balls and grabs one. He walks back over to where they were and starts the swish and flick required. "OK Wingardium Leviosa!" It worked again, i guess he was getting good at it. "He brought the ball over his head and kept it there and said to Laura " Ok i guess i will will the ball to you now" He slowly tossing the ball to her using the charm.

Laura looked at Nigel, this was so cool, this time Laura caught the ball, Laura smiled, hopefully when she tried it things would go like this but she wasn't sure it would.

Laura smiled at Nigel. "My turn now." Laura smirked as she said. "Wingardium Leviosa!" she had done this spell loads of time so it worked, she decided it was time to let Nigel catch it, she flick her wands hoping it would go near Nigel but it didn't it went far. "I uh suggest you go long."

Justin watched as Minerva had to try twice before getting the balll to levitate towards him. He watched how she followed the balls movement with her wand. He pulled his wand from its holster and took hold of the ball in his left hand and ... Swish and Flick.. " Wingardium... Leviosa." and up the ball rose and he too followed the ball with his wand.

Minerva jumped catching the ball in the air. She smiled, she always liked playing catch, but this made it more interesting. She looked at Justin and swished then flicked her wand. "Wingardium Leviosa" The ball lifted, but this time she moved her wand a bit quicker to move the ball faster towards Justin.

Justin snatched the ball as it flew towards him. He looked up and smirked at her. So, she wanted to play did she? " Wingardium leviosa." with a swished and flick... And sent the ball back to Minnie.

Nigel was waiting with his wand up and ready to catch the ball when it was thrown back at him. He did not want a repeat of what just happened with it hitting him in the head. But just when she threw it he saw what was going to happen immediately.

She threw it way to hard. It started to sail right over his head. He started to back pedal hoping he wont hit anybody then yelled "Wingardium Leviosa!" as he pointed his wand at the ball. He then made the ball hover back to him. "Oh boy that was close" Nigel said, it almost another lost ball. "I'm going to throw it back at you again. Here you go" Nigel threw it back at her using the hover charm. Nigel was surprised he thougth of using the charm there, He was almost going to turn and run completly after it and catch it with his hands.

Where they'd met before didn't particularly matter, other than just clarifying how Stella had known Gideon's name and his knowing hers. She nodded as he'd agreed with her suggestion, though. It was fairly certain to have been one lesson or another, especially considering the professors seemed to be focusing on group work a lot more here than she'd dealt with at Beauxbatons. Besides the theatre part, but that was a given. It was a bit difficult acting by oneself, unless you were performing a soliloquy. She was distracting herself from the lesson at hand now again, however, so she cut off that train of thought before it could go too much further and she started seeming detached again.

She'd blinked as he'd accepted her suggestion as to who got levitated first, a bit surprised that it had been that easy. Or perhaps it was more surprise that she hadn't somehow insulted him with her thinking aloud. It certainly didn't make her any more comfortable witht he idea of being levitated, considering it was a bit too much like flying, but she took a deep breath and steeled herself as he'd taken his wand out. Some of the others had sat down, she'd noticed, but by now she'd rather just get it all over with. Sitting down took too much time, and she was counting on the prefect to at least not intentionally drop her. Her eyes still widened as she'd actually rose off the ground a few inches before she had to lift her arms slightly to regain the balance that had become more precarious now that her feet weren't on solid ground. "How long do you think you're supposed to keep the spell going for?," she asked, not really wanting to seem scared and outright just telling him to put her back down. She wasn't going to back out of the lesson, even if she was entirely too nervous now.

Okay. Maybe Kurumi could have handled that whole situation a little better and not had panic written all over her face, but being up in the air was something Kurumi sort of had issues with. The only saving grace there was right now was the fact that she wasn't on a broom...and that she wasn't actually willing herself up into the air but sort of being forced to by Selina's wand. Which reminded her of Levicorpus and Kurumi found that rather ironic. They were practicing the none-jinx was of lifting someone up into the air.

When she saw Selina kick several pillows towards her, Kurumi shot her best friend a look. She wasn't going to....yep, she was. "Selina, wait a second!" Kurumi squeaked. All Selina needed to do was concentrate a little more on stabilizing her and things would be find, right? It seemed legit in theory at least. But before Kurumi could vocalize this thought, her best friend had lowered her wand.

Fudgesicle.

Kurumi belly-flopped into the pile of pillows below her, momentarily knocking the wind out of her, but no real damage had been done. The sixth year slowly lifted her head and bust out into a fit of laughter. Selina's face, while dead serious with concern, just looked so funny. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't laugh," Kurumi said as she stood back up and adjusted her uniform so that it was all tucked in and not disheveled. "But you should see your face."

Once Kurumi had regained composure, ish, she looked back at Selina and bit her lip to stop from laughing more. Did this mean it was her turn to give this a go?

OHYAY THIS WAS SO COOL! Sophie could do it aaaall day long! Especially with that smiley ball. She had really liked it. "I know, this is actually one of the easiest spells I've tried so far!" This one and 'Aguamenti'. Sophie had never had trouble with those two before.

Okay! Okay! The nice-looking ball was coming her way again! YAYAYAY! Swish and flick! "Wingardium Leviosa!" WOOOOP! A big grin was on Sophie's face when the ball hovered over her head and went straight to Ella again.

Lily grinned as her friend turned around. "Ok..." Now all they needed was a ball so that they could practice this thing. Oh... Violet already had that covered too. Luckily, the second year hadn't taken her wand out yet so catching the ball wasn't hard to do. The redhead placed the ball on the ground before pulling out her wand. "Ok... ready?" Well, Lily hoped that Violet was ready because they needed to get started.

Carefully, Lily swished and flicked her wand, uttering "Wingardium Leviosa..." But the ball didn't move even the slightest bit. After a deep breath, she tried again. "Wingardium Leviosa!" This time, after a swish and a flick, the ball jumped into the air. Slowly, Lily tried to direct the ball over towards Violet, hoping that her friend would be ready to take over once the ball got close enough. All she had to do now was stay focused.

Oooo, look! An older student is floating in the air!!

Ella had been momentarily distracted by one girl Gryffindor prefect falling from the air and landing in a mess of pillows. She giggled at the sight, finding it quite humorous. Because of the distraction, Ella wasn't ready when Sophie quickly levitated the ball and then sent it right back to Ella. Unfortunately, Ella didn't even have her wand raised.

O_o The ball hit Ella smack dab in the middle of her forehead, causing her to take a few steps backward. "Ouch!" She said, rubbing her forehead. She looked all around her, momentarily confused about what might have hit her. Okay, so they had been playing a game...with a ball...OH! Looking up at Sophie, Ella smiled though she was still rubbing the sore spot on her head. "Sorry Sophie, I was uh-not paying attention." She looked at her friend sheepishly, shrugging. "I-I'd better go find the ball then." She said, starting to giggle. Even though she was hurt, the situation was still pretty funny. She probably had a huge red mark on her forehead too.

After a few minutes of looking and dodging flying balls and classmates, Ella returned with the smiley face ball. She held it up triumphantly to Sophie before placing it on the floor in front of her. "Okay, this time I'm going to be ready for anything." She promised, doing the familiar swish and flick motion. "Wingardium Leviosa!" And the ball was up in the air again, floating in front of Ella's face. "Here it comes, Soph!"

Sarassi said Okay sis! I will go get a ball She walked over to the ball corner and grabbed a blue ball. Walked back over to Nerida and said Ill levitate it to you first. She took a deep breath, did a swish and flick motion with her wand and then said Wingardium Leviosa! The ball floated in the air. Here it comes Giggles! She 'threw' it at Giggles/Nerida with her wand.

Mordred just stared at Oakey. “Stay calm Mordred. Oakey can do this.” He thought to himself totally deaf to what Oakey was saying. His best friend took out the scarab he gave him and gave him a puzzled look.

Oh. So he was assuring him. “Well that better work...” he said as his voice trailed off eyeing Oakey’s wand that was now pointed at him.

Gulp.

As Oakey muttered the incantation, he saw his green tie rise from his belly and out in front of him. Before he could even insult Oakey, his tie slapped his face and stayed there. “You know, you’re supposed to levitate me—not just my tie.” He said as he swatted his tie off his face. “Are you sure you were able to levitate someone before?” he asked narrowing his eyes. “Try it again.”

The redhead visibly flinched when Kurumi fell from the air and onto the pillow. As her eyes were shut tightly she contemplated all of the terrible things that had no doubt happened to Kurumi. What if she had bumped her head and needs to go to the hospital wing? What if she was in a coma and she would never wake again? What if a shark ate her?? All of these were distinct possibilities and she had done this to her best friend! Merlin, it was all her fault! Oh no.. She had killed her!!

When she heard a giggle from the pillows she opened her eyes to check on Kurumi. Thank Merlin! She was alive! That made her feel so much better. She liked Kurumi quite a deal, she was a broken in best friend and to find a new best friend would be like a lot of work. Kurumi being alive was a good thing for sure.

She relaxed her face and said, "Go ahead... I'm just glad that I can hear you laugh. I thought I had killed you!". She was alive though. Best news ever... Or lately at least. Because lately had been rough in more ways than one. But she was not going to harp on it.

Looking at Kurumi's face, Selina figured it was now her time to be lifted. The redhead nodded to give her the okay.

Minerva laughed, so he was good at catch. She laughed as he took the ball and sent it back her way. She reached up and caught the ball. "You have to do better then that." she swished and flicked her wand "Wingarium Leviosa" she watched the ball lift from her hand and she moved the wand sending it back to Justin.

" I would , but I wouldn't want to hurt you , Minnie." he said as he made a poutty face at her just before catching the ball again. " Wingardium leviosa." with a swish and a flick off he sent it hurling towards Minerva.

Minerva went to jump and catch the ball, but missed and it went flying across the room. "oOOPS" she laughed and went to fetch the ball. Picking it up she went back to stand across from Justin. "You would never hurt me." She chuckled at him. swishing and flicking her wand "Wingardium Leviosa" the ball raised and went towards Justin.

Okay, Alex tried to levitate himself first. Since he realized that he was bigger, just hoped that the hovering charm could levitate him. Watching him swished and flicked his wand, Gary just sat at the cushion. Suddenly he felt that his cushion were floating up. Good job, Hufflepuff boy!

"Well done, Alex!" he said. But the cushion just able to levitate him about 4 feets about the ground, then suddenly he became unbalanced and fell backward. "OUCH.." He just hoped that his left shoulder was okay.

Ellie laughed. Mostly at the formality of it all. But other than that made no comment. She felt their trust for each other was pretty well established by this point. Really.

She answered his question with a nod of her head, though that seemed to be unnecessary, as Max had gone and taken a seat anyway.

A moment was taken in which she chewed her lip out of concentration and nerves and, while she felt it silly just a few moments ago, practiced the wand motion. Getting prepared to levitate her friend was taken a lot more seriously than idly waving her wand around to show Bellaire she was capable of a swish and a flick.

"Ready, then? I'm doing it verbally so you'll be prepared." And because she didn't trust herself to properly lift a full grown sixteen-year-old boy non-verbally. Though perhaps he'll let her play around with it later. It really depended on whether he was willing to take the chance to be bruised or not. Not that he wasn't risking it now, but Ellie was confident she could go through this safely.

She raised her wand. "Wingardium Leviosa." She swished, flicked, and watched her friend rise into the air.

Killed her?

Kurumi just sort of stared at Selina blinking rapidly at that statement. "Selina...I was hardly five feet off the floor," she said in a rather dazed voice. She had taken harder falls in Quidditch and fallen from MUCH higher heights then. Prime example being her last match, but Kurumi really did not want to relive that moment right now when she was supposed to be concentrating on levitating her best friend.

Kurumi twirled her want in between her fingers for a few moments as a grin formed on her lips. Kurumi had been able to perform this spell non-verbally several times in the dorms on her textbooks, pillows, and occasionally Walnut. She was confident that she could perform this spell verbally and not have too much trouble, but the whole point of a lesson was to challenge yourself, right? Besides, there were pillows everywhere and she wouldn't levitate Selina too high. "Okay, I'm going to give this a go non-verbally," Kurumi said as she held up her other hand with all five fingers in the air. "Countdown from five." And then Kurumi slowly began to lower her fingers one by one starting with her thumb while her brow furrowed in concentration.

It would just be like when she did this on Walnut...only Walnut was a lot bigger and had red hair. When her hand had formed a fist, Kurumi swiftly moved her wand hand in a fluid swish and flick movement as she focused on the spell clearly in her mind.

Now to see if her non-verbals were up to the task...

It was working!

She was lifting...levitating off the ground and relatively smoothly not jerky which was a relief to say the least to Gideon, and probably his partner as well as she already appeared to be compensating for his actions. It wasn't much; one, because he didn't want it to be too much of a shock or worry about what would happen if she did suddenly fall and two, as the additional weight of an actually person was added into the equation, it seemed to have a defined effect on the effort needed to actually lift the target of the hovering spell.

"I don't know..." he answered honestly, but it certainly was intense to keep the spell going and he certainly hoped that they didn't have to keep it up for too long. He kept it going for a minute or two longer and then felt himself start to lose concentration and control over the spell. "Easy...easy does it. I think I'll be setting ye down now," Gideon warned so Stella could prepare herself. In all intents, the prefect was aiming for a smooth descent as much as it had been a smooth ascent but one still had to be careful. And with that he moved his wand lower as if to invisibly guide her back down to the floor, the boy going slowly as best he could.
