After the whole practicing the swish and flick, Professor was now giving them a sort of activity to partner up with the same year level as them before they probably start the official activity. She did mention to the lower years that they're not YET allowed to hit each other with the ball. Awesome! So are the going to do some ball throwing today using the balls that she readied for them?

Jonathan smiled as he took his wand first and walked to where the Professor had mentioned the higher years to stand. With her signal, it was time to find a partner. There were not-so-many seventh years in this class. He raised his hand to get a seventh year's attention "Seventh year?... Partners?"

*blink*

One moment, Sierra was just standing there asking for a partner. The next moment, Aspen Odessa was standing before her, eyes closed and arms open wide. When, exactly, had Sierra agreed to this partnership anyway? She didn't remember giving the girl an 'okay'. This couldn't end well. If there first and only meeting so far was any indication, Sierra wouldn't be leaving here today in a good mood.

Nevertheless, Odessa was ready, and if Sierra didn't partner up with her, she'd have to roam the room and ask around like some pathetic Puffer. Aspen as a partner it would be. "Shouldn't you lie down?" she asked. "I mean, isn't it going to be pretty uncomfortable to be jerked off your feet?" She was a Ravenclaw. She should know these things, and Physics said Aspen would end up horizontal once in the air. Or Sierra thought so, at least.

Ella only had to wait a moment before hearing a very familiar voice reply to her request. "Hey Soph! That would be fun. I already know you're good with this spell." She said with a smile, recalling how Sophie levitated the pygmy puff at the Whomping Willow. "I'll go grab one of those balls, okay?"

The second year returned holding a ball with a smiley face on it and handed it to Sophie with a smile. "Do you want to start, Sophie?"

Aspen opened one eye to look at her partner.

Then the other. Hmmm.


"I had intended to be levitated, not jerked off my feet," she admitted. In Aspen's mind,it made more sense to already have MOST of her body off the ground. Plus, with so many other students around, levitating vertically seemed more ergonomic.

Perhaps Aspen should have spent more time worrying about herself and less time worrying about her wand. With a great deal of reluctance, and a great deal MORE of newfound worry, Aspen put herself back on the floor. She sat on a blue cushion and assumed one of those weird positions from DADA.

It'd just have to do. She wasn't laying down like a plank of wood.

Alyssa sighed. She knew that she was going to have problems finding a partner. So she called out again.

"Anybody want to partner a fourth year?" Alyssa had a feeling that she was in for a long wait.

Alex turned and let out a sigh of relief that someone had offered to be his partner...in record time too! He was usually stuck hanging around for a few minutes before someone volunteered. "Of course I don't mind! I'm Alex," he said, holding out a hand for a shake.

"Sweet!" Kaiden said glad to have such an awesome partner. And West's hopping around was getting him even more excited than he already was. They were going to be amazing. Well, except for that. "NO, not really? We just do the movment and say Wingardium Leviosa right?" but how hard could that be?

Sophie gave Ella a small smile when she said she knew Sophie was good with it. "Thanks, Ella! You'll be fine with it too, it's quite easy!" It was, really! She nodded when her friend went to get a ball for them to play with. Yaaaay!

Taking the smiley ball Ella handed to her, Sophie pulled out her wand. "That's such a lovely baaaall!! This is going to be FUN! Alright, I can start!" YES! She backed away a few feet from Ella. "Ready??" She asked, pointing her wand at the little ball. Swish and flick."Wingardium Leviosa!" And the ball slowly levitated in front of her. GRIN! "There, Ella! Catch!"

Well, this would just have to do. Besides, what did she care anyway? If Aspen wanted to make it harder on herself then so be it. ...and was that one of those weird positions from Romanos' class? Yes. Yes it was. What did she expect anyway from a kid who carried around a fruit bat?

Sierra sighed and flicked her wand out her holster. "So your brother managed Slytherin house," she said, pointing out the obvious, "and so did your father." So obviously the Odessa's had some amount of greatness to them. Swish. "What happened with you?" Flick.

"Wingardium Leviosa!" she said.

"Yeah! You try it first." On account of West was a biiiiiit... reluctant. But he'd be awesome once he saw Kaid do it and all.

"My sister says to be consistent. Like with the wand movement." Which was less fun. But good advice since Aspen knew lots of things.

Ella was happy that Sophie thought she'd do well. It put her a little more at ease about the task they were about to do. The second year laughed as Sophie reacted to her ball choice. "It is lovely, isn't it?" Ella said, admiring her choice. She then nodded when her friend said it would be fun to do this assignment. Ella sure hoped so! She didn't want to do something stupid like hit Sophie in the head with the ball. That would be embarrassing...though kind of funny. Heh.

And then they were starting. Ella gave her friend a nod when asked if she was ready. The second year was as ready as she'd ever be. Ella clapped as Sophie successfully levitated the ball on her first try. "Nice one, Sophie!" She said cheerfully. But wait, that meant it was her turn now, yeah? Ella took a deep breath and went over the incantation in her head. Wingardium Leviosa...Wingardium Leviosa...Wingardium Leviosa... Okay, now she was ready. Gripping her wand a little more firmly, Ella nodded, indicating she was ready to catch. With a quick swish and a flick, Ella said, "Wingardium Leviosa!" Unfortunately, she wasn't quick enough and the ball fell at her feet. "Merlin's beard!" She said, defeated. "What did I do wrong?"

Managed? Aspen wasn't so sure about that. But was it wise to point out Sierra's possible vocabulary flaws when the girl was supposed be levitating her? No.

And that was why Aspen was in Ravenclaw. Because she had sense. One curse from a Slytherin was enough for this month. Quota met.

"It's simple really. I put on the hat, same as everyone else, but instead of the hat proclaiming Slytherin, it shouted Ravenclaw." Just like that. That's what happened with Aspen. Facts. Truths.


Aspen remained on the ground. Sierra had been talking during the Swish and Flick. Not that Aspen was going to point this out or anything, she'd just patiently wait to be lifted. She went ahead and closed her eyes again.

"Gary Rush." he shook his hand. This boy looked friendly. Maybe because he was a Hufflepuff? Well, Gary didn't mind to be a partner from any house. "And nice to meet you."

So.. partners? Checked. Okay, what should they do now? Levitating each other? It sounded fun. "So, you start first." he offered to Alex. Then he sat on a cushion.

Zhenya could have sighed loudly. MORE partner work? She stood up and looked around to see if anyone from years 1-3 needed a partner. How about Laura? She didn't really care about who her partner was, but she did need one.

"Anyone want to pair up?" she asked loudly.

First, sure he could do that. The puff headed over and grabbed a nice blue ball and gripped it tighter than was needed as he returned to West. Was he supposed to hold it out with his left hand, or was did he need to sit it on the ground?

"Consistent?" Kaiden gulped. HE had tried to be consistent during practice, but his arm had flailed wildly at times. "I can do that." He said, sounding more confident than he really was.

He pulled out his wand, and held the ball in his outstretched hand. "Wingardium Leviosa." he said, as he gave a wide sweeping swish and flick. He watched as absolutely nothing happened.

Nigel was nervous about finding a partner.

"Anybody want to partner a first year?" Nigel said and looked forward to a long wait

Did the professor just read her mind?

Oh, dear. Since she was a fourth year, she was in the category that had to levitate someone and be levitated. But it will be alright, won't it? It had to be. Or at least she knew she could do it. Looking around for a partner, she spotted a Hufflepuff that looked around her age, so maybe they could be partners. "Hi, do you want to be partners?" Pretty please?

"Well I realized that much," she said. Was Aspen trying to get sarcastic with her? Being sarcastic and straight to the point was Sierra's job, not Aspen's. Sierra dropped her wand by her side. Aspen wasn't off the floor and floating around anyway. "What I meant was, why not you, as well? Didn't you want to be a Slytherin?" ...because who didn't?

Odessa had obviously done something wrong. That's why she was still sitting there on the ground in that ridiculous yoga pose. See, she have just laid down like Sierra suggested in the first place. "Okay, hold still. I'm going to try and levitate you again," she said. She pointed her wand directly at Aspen. Swish and flick... "Wingardium Leviosa!"

Mordred quickly moved to the left of the room as he tugged Oakey’s sleeve who was still practicing. He listened to the professor’s instructions and nudged Oakey’s side, claiming him as his partner. So, the first years get to levitate the balls...and they get to levitate each other...

He slowly turned to Oakey with his jaw slightly dropped.




Mordred should be very afraid that Oakey’s his partner. With his luck gone low, he was definitely on the receiving end of his madness. “You better do it right.” He said pointing at Oakey with a serious tone. He eyed the carpet and the cushion, and he was more than sure that it will be reaaaaaaaaaally painful if Oakey messes up.

Oh dear.

“Ready?” he asked. “You go first.” He gestured his head, turned his back to Oakey and got his wand from his sleeve. “If Oakey needs to be lucky, it should be today.” He thought as he spun around and faced him once more and prepared himself for the worst.

Violet sighed. Another partner activity? It was a chance to meet up with new friends, but sometimes it was hard to find a person who was in the same year as you. She rasied up her hand. "Professor, if I can't find someone that is the same here as me, could I be partners with someone that is close to my year?"

Lily carefully got up from the ground and went over to the side of the room with all the other kids her age. Now to find a partner... Looking around, the second year wasn't sure who would work well with her, until.... "Violet!! Do you wanna be my partner? I still need a partner." That would work, right?... If not, Lily would just have to keep looking. If it did work, well then, they get to play with a ball.

Alyssa sighed in relief. She quickly got her and said,"YES OF COURSE YES!! I'LL BE PARTNERS WITH YOU." Alyssa replied grateful that somebody had actually asked to be partner with her. Then she belatedly realizded that she had been yelling.

"Ooops sorry about the yelling. I was just so excited that you asked me. My name is Alyssa." She stuck out her hand to shake her new partner's

Max was still busying himself with his non-existent wand when the professor continued on with further instruction. And then his face FELL. The older kids didn't get to play with the fun balls? That was no fun. But then... levitating each other was funny, too. Maybe even more fun.

When Bellaire mentioned a partner, Max looked to Ellie quickly, then examined all the other older students to make sure they weren't planning on asking her, too. Just to be sure, he rolled off his cushion and hurried over to her when they were set free to the task. "Partner?" he inquired lightly, extending his hand out to her to signify to everyone else that it wasn't just a casual exchange. They were going to be PARTNERS.

When the words partner and levitate were mentioned Selina automatically knew that she and Kurumi were going to partner up. She was not sure that Kurumi knew that fact yet, but that was too bad. If someone was going to levitate her in the air she was going to have it be someone who was not going to screw it up and Kurumi was a perfectionist and brilliant... there was no way that she could get hurt in Kurumi's company unless Bill or ice skating was involved.

So once the Professor gave everyone the okay to go ahead and partner up, Selina bolted across the room to reach Kurumi. Usually, when it came to a class setting Kurumi was always the first person everyone wanted to partner with, but she was Selina's best friend and they were partnering up. She claimed her! NO TAKE BACKS! So everyone had to back away from her best friend or else they were going to get the eye and the eye was scary.

As soon as she reached Kurumi she grabbed her arms friend and said to the entire student body, "Claimed her!" Then she turned to Kurumi to clarify in case her friend was confused, "Oh yeah, by the way we are partnering..."

Sophie smiled when Ella complimented her. She was looking straight at the smiley ball, waiting for her friend to 'get' it with her own Hovering Charm, when suddenly the ball dropped on the carpet. N'aw.

"I guess you were a bit nervous?" Sophie said with a small smile. She knew Ella could do it! "Go on, try again! Slow down a bit on the wand movement, maybe that was it." Ella probably got nervous when she saw the ball going towards her and did the movements too fast. Anyway, maybe starting the whole thing was easier than catching the ball already flying!
