Once you arrive to the Divination classroom, you enter to find what looks like a standard classroom setup. Desks arranged in the center of the room, facing Professor Bishop's desk and organized into pairs, look toward a charmed blackboard which currently simply says "Divination Lesson 1" in a graceful cursive. A good-sized bookshelf is against the right-hand wall and contains a large amount of small fabric-wrapped shapes.
Professor Bishop is seated at her desk, writing on something, the wooden box from her office moved to the desk in here, but she's still aware of the room. Don't think she isn't, just because she looks occupied with other things.
Feel free to take a seat, talk quietly, get your things ready and class will start shortly.
Feel free to post your character entering, speaking to each other or the professor. I'll check in when I can, so don't go overboard, and the lesson will begin tomorrow.

"Okay then," said Helena, shuffling the cards. "Here's the Empress, the Hierophant and the Star," she added, now looking in the textbook for the meanings. "The Empress is a creator, be it creation of life, of romance, of art or business. While the Magician is the primal spark, the idea made real, and the High Priestess is the one who gives the idea a form, the Empress is the womb where it gestates and grows till it is ready to be born," she read.
"The Hierophant's purpose is to bring the spiritual down to Earth. Where the High Priestess between her two pillars deals with realms beyond this Earth, the Hierophant (or High Priest) deals with worldly problems. He is well suited to do this because, like all Taureans, he strives to create harmony and peace in the midst of a crisis. The Hierophant's only problem is that, like the Bull, he can be stubborn and hidebound. At his best, he is wise and soothing, at his worst, he is an unbending traditionalist."
"And last, but not least, the Star," she said, looking again in the textbook. "With Aquarius as its ruling sign, The Star is a card that looks to the future. It does not predict any immediate or powerful change, but it does predict hope and healing. This card suggests clarity of vision, spiritual insight. And, most importantly, that unexpected help will be coming, with water to quench the Querent's thirst, with a guiding light to the future. "
"Is that okay?" said Helena when she finally finished with the three cards.

"Ok if thats what you want to ask", she said after wiping the tears from her eyes.
Claire drew three cards from the top of the deck and lay them down in front of Emily face down.
"So first we have your past", she said as she turned over the first card. It was the sun. "Next is your present", Claire turned over the next card, this one was strength. "And lastly, your future", she said as she revealed the final card. The wheel of fortune.
"Well you never know... anything could happen", said Emily in a small voice.
Emily suddenly felt nervous, the title of the cards sounded possitive, but she still worried whether or not it would mean good news for her and Xav. "So what do they mean?" she asked Claire, anxious to find out more.

"Well I'm glad you asked me that" she replied grinning widely. "So the sun- as your past- is said to have the meaning of glory, triumph, success and pleasure. So it's all possitive. It is also considered to be the card of intellect, clarity of mind and youthful energy. And in regards to you I'd say it could be either, but in regard to you and your relationship to Xavier I'd lean more towards youthful energy. It may also be interpreted in the literal sense as in you may expect children!" beamed Claire, her eyes immediately fell to Emily's stomach, she would love to be an Aunty.
"But of course... it may not mean children... depends on the following cards as well." she said trying to calm herself down. "I suppose I'd say in relation to your question this card represents your journey with Xavier and seeing as its placed in the past and not the future it wouldn't mean that your with child or soon to be with child... although you never know.... but maybe its reflecting on your positive fun, care-free youthful relationship with Xavier." she said.

Emily couldn't help but laugh at Claire's reaction to the card. "Claire, I promise as soon as we even consider having children you'll be the first to know.... but it wont be any time soon", she said. "But so far so good. I think you're right about the interpreatation, it reflects on the past quite accurately." she added.
Sierra waved her hand in the air to dismiss what Satine was saying. "Of course you're not a bad choice for a partner," she said. She'd say that it was likely her own self and her inexperience that was causing the issues, but admitting fault just wasn't her kind of thing. Besides, in the end, Sierra's reading seemed to have made sense. Or, at least, Satine appeared to have gained some kind of insight from it.
...and, oh Merlin! It was her turn to get a reading again, which meant in a few short minutes, it'd be her turn to give another reading!
Sierra nodded along as Satine started the reading. Of course her inspiration and motivation was high at the moment! She was a newly appointed Slytherin. Who wouldn't be inspired to do great things!? She had to wait for her results, though? Eww. Patience just wasn't her thing. "Hmm. You have me really wondering about this decision I'll have to make," she said.
So, her turn again, right? Once again, Sierra shuffled the cards then plucked one right off the top. She took her time this go round. She didn't want to tell Satine that she was old and decrepit and needed to be destroyed again. No, this time she'd give a good reading the first time around. "Okay, you've got The Hermit," she announced. "I think this one means that when you seek guidance, you should look within yourself and listen to your own inner voice. It also says that in order to do this, you should eliminate inner and outer turmoil in order to clearly hear your inner voice." Shrugging, she added, "I guess it just amounts to the fact that a person can't really think properly with lots of nonsense going on around them."
Satine shook her head at Sierra's second reading. Well yes that made sense....she should prolly start listening to herself more even if listening to herself sometimes got her in sticky situations. "That really does make sense...And I guess you have to know yourself before you can truly make decisions for yourself either." She said and then realized that sounded crazy and looked at her cards.
Okay here goes...She went through the same motions and this time flipped over:
The Star
Satine quickly interpreted in and knew instantly how it related to her other two cards, "Well I think this all goes back to that big decision that you're going to have to make. The star card gives you hope and confidence in this decision letting you know that whatever way you decide will be what's best for you and will be the most successful choice." she paused and then continued, " It also means that whatever decision you make will help you become at ease and make you proud of yourself as well." wow this stuff was pretty deep...pretty vague...but pretty deep.
Claire frowned at Emily... "Accidents do happen you know" she said smirking.
"Anyway next card... strength..... right so this is really interesting. emember this represents your present. Now the strength card is often associated with bravery, strength- not so much physical but inner strength- this is shown here on the card with the maiden and the lion, she has inner strength which is stronger than physical strength. "
Claire paused and read a bit more... then, "This card essentially means that you can control the situation, it is a card about anger, creativity, impulse control, leadership and personal honor."
Claire thought for a moment.
"Impulse control hey..." she said winking and Emily.... "children hey"... she said. After seeing the look of disbelief on Emily's face she cleared her throat and continued...
"Ok in all seriousness... the card probably means that at the moment- in your present- you have control over your happiness and the success of your relationship with Xavier. Your a strong woman, and he's a strong man ad together your a strong couple who love each other very much and because of this you have controll over your relationship."
"Am I right?" ahs asked uncertainly.

"Enough with the children thing already, we're too young" she laughed, "and accidents are preventable." she grinned victoriously. "Strength... so we have the inner strength we require in order to have a successful and happy relationship?" she asked... nodding to herself as she said this. "I like it."
Emily eyes off the last card. "So my future rests in the the wheel of fortune"... "that does not sound promising" she said. If it really did come down to fortune and chance it was bound to be bad.... she was never lucky.

"No... the wheel of fortune is good" she said trying to reassure Emily.
"Look here", she said pushing the text book under her nose, " it is about big things, involving luck, change and fortune... and it is almost always good fortune. This is a positive thing Em."
"This card usually communicates happiness, elevation, luck, hange and joy."
"So in terms of your relationship with Xavier, things will change but they will become better, you will be happy together, because you both have inner strength and therefore will will your relationshiop to succeed. You may not have the youthful energy you both once had in your past but with change will come luck and joy and happiness...... and little bundles of joy" added Claire cheekily.
She smiled at Emily and nudged her in the ribs, "Face it, you and Xavier were meant to be together" she said pointing at the cards in front of her.

Emily smiled and wrapped her arms around her friend. "Thanks Claire-bear" she whispered in her ear. She took one last look at the cards then swept them up and shuffled them back into the deck. At least she had some peice of mind... she just hoped divination was as strong and as accuarate as other forms of magic.

Wait a second.
Were all the cards supposed to connect to each other in some way?! Had she been connecting Satine's readings to one another? Umm... Sierra narrowed her eyes in thought, thinking back to what the first two cards had said. Pretty much everything she'd told Satine had to deal with inner strength, so if she kept the reading along that line, she'd be doing alright.
She hoped.
"Proud of myself?!" Sierra repeated, suddenly perking up. This decision she had to soon make was looking better and better by the second! "Sounds like a pretty awesome decision I'll have to make..." Smiling to herself, Sierra once again shuffled the cards and pulled the top one from the deck.
Flipping it over, she said, "Mmkay, your third card is The Chariot, which looks like a pretty cool card." As time went on, Sierra had started to get a little faster with her readings, so it didn't take much time at all for her to skim the card and come up with something for Satine. "This card deals with the power of the mind, and how we can use it to help lead our hearts to make the right decision." She paused, read a bit more, and then added, "So I'd say that all this turning to your inner self is going to be a positive experience for you. Looks like you're going to make all the right decisions."

"The High Preistess"........"Oh cool, this is considered the card of knowledge,instincual/supernatural/secret knowledge. It says that the high priestess may or may not reveal this knowledge to you and if she does it may be to help you make some sort of decision either about an issue or other personal matters such as love, family or career and investment." "It is an upside, but you do relaise the reason your not dying is because I'm here to protect you from yourself", laughed Emily. "Staff- hopes and fears"...."Queen of wands" said Emily "So the Queen of wands indicates that you are a vivacious, out-going person who enjoys being in the lime light, often associated with performace, creative arts and/or leaders and activists." "The down side of the Queen of wands is that they may become over-bearing and bossy and may overwhelm or intimidate others s opposed to inspiring them."... "Perhaps you hope to be inspiring and interesting, or fear being a burden or being overwhelming and bossy.".... "Hope to be liked and fear to be disliked." summed up Emily, she hoped this was right.
"And the last staff represents the final outcome." said Emily as she took a deep breath in. "So this is it..." she said as she turned the card face up. "The moon", she said as she riffled through her text book. "From what I can gather", started Emily... "the moon has two sides, the dream and the nightmare, on the one side it may promise creativity and powerful magic as well as intuition, but on the flip side it warns about secret/ unexpected enemies, tricks or even falsehoods." Emily paused and looked up at Claire. "You will go through trying and testing times, emotionally and mentally. Stay strong, and focused and hopefully this will result in creativity, great powers- psychic even with visions and insight." "Trust your instinct", she said finally waiting for Claire's response.

"So... after all that I may or may not succeed. It's going to be a battle empotionally and mentally. I'm going to struggle", she said. Just great she thought. "High priestess better help me out", she mumbled bitterly.
"Your turn now! Im going to reat your future, hopefully it will be more diffinitive than this silly moon business", she moaned. She really expected something more concrete than the moon. It was so vague she wasn't sure where she stood.

Continuing to wander around the room, to keep track of all the students in case they needed help, Renée had started wondering if it was soon time to finish things up. Obviously everyone still seemed to be having fun with their readings, although she’d noticed a few who had seemed like they’d finished. Not everyone had, though, which was why she hadn’t stopped yet. The lesson really was almost over , however, not much else to do. But she looked up as she heard someone mention her name, and headed over to the two girls working from where the voice had come from, listening a little to the interpretations as she walked. “Well, that looks pretty good, for a first time,” she said with a smile down at the older of the two, once she arrived. Provided it actually was, which she really couldn’t say she knew for a fact. It had seemed not that many had felt really adept at it all, though, so it seemed a good assumption. They seemed to have things under control, however, and had continued the readings, so she didn’t stay long. They could call her again if they needed, but she figured they were okay. Just needed a bit of positive reinforcement.

At the thought of positive reinforcement, Renée returned to the desk of the little Hufflepuff, and tried not to grin as he asked yet another basic question. It wasn’t polite to laugh at that, after all. Even if it was kind of amusing. “A three card spread is exactly that. When you draw three cards, and each one represents a certain aspect of the reading. The most common would be ‘past, present and future,’ but there are others as well,” she replied, keeping the friendly tone to her voice. She didn’t want him getting any more discouraged, which was part of her reasoning behind not going further into that discussion. If he wanted to know the others, he could look at the textbook, or any number of the others she had in her office. Forcing him to do one thing over the other wouldn’t help in the long run, though. So she wasn’t going to do it. She’d just keep leading him down the path toward knowledge, and hopefully he’d eventually find he understood the concepts.

Jake, however, didn't.
Anyway, moving on.
"The parts of this subject I believe in and stuff are things about Seers. I mean, I've never learnt much about Seers or how their brains work or even about many famous Seers, except in books. And when I say 'Seers', I mean the prophecy telling ones, big prophecies or small. Not the ones who say they can See something in tea leaves. That's what I'd love to learn about; prophecies and Seers, like combined."
He gave a nod.
Mainly, he was here to learn all that.
Oh... and get a grade.
It certainly seemed like she wasn’t going to be convincing Jake of many things, but Renée turned to him with a smile as he provided an answer to her earlier query. It really was always interesting to get students’ opinions on things, especially if they seemed to be offering them to learn more. She imagined his emphasis that he didn’t believe in the more common forms of Divination could be insulting, but something told her it wasn’t so she wouldn’t treat it that way. Simply as another avenue of illumination. “Of course. Those ideas are highly useful, especially with people who aren’t truly able to understand the cards,” she said, completely without any inference whatsoever, although she’d thought of the carnival people in the Muggle world, those who abused Divination for monetary gain. “People are more apt to believe things when they have proof. Which I understand you might not see happening often, if you look at cartomancy as focused more on telling people what they want to know, or what you feel they want to know. But when predictions come to pass, the likelihood of belief gets stronger.”
Predictions, as opposed to what he said he actually did believe in. The idea of Seers and prophecy, which was the other facet of Divination, and she returned his nod as he continued speaking. “I’d imagine if you spoke to a Seer, they wouldn’t necessarily say their brain worked much different than your own. Biologically, at least, but perhaps I might include something about both those concepts in a future lesson,” she added. She hadn’t officially decided on what else she wanted to teach this term, after all. Everything was fluid, changeable. Of course, that was a subject she didn’t know much more about than what she’d learned herself, but she could still think about teaching the theory, at least.

Right. "Oh, umm, it's…" She was going to say fascinating but, well it wasn’t all that fascinating. She found other cards to be more fascinating than this one. "…pretty." Mmhmm, that was true. The professor couldn’t argue with that one! "And, I'm just wondering, how something so pretty can be so evil."
Well she could, but that would defeat the purpose of her excuse.
Back at the back of the room, after answering Jake’s challenge, or at least his question, Renée sent Evelyn a smile as she seemed to snap back to attention from her drowsy state. It truly did seem like the Slytherin had been almost catatonic, really, given the fact she’d seemed a bit confused by the question, but she didn’t mind. As long as something got through to the girl, she’d done her job. Even if whatever information was through osmosis, subconscious messages, that sort of thing. Neither idea was really Divination, but they amused her for a bit, until she gave Evelyn a nod. “The Moon card is pretty, although that’s a simple opinion. Others could find any card pretty, but they wouldn’t be so drawn in by it,” she pointed out, before smiling again as the girl continued. Now that was an interesting concept, if not entirely true. “I don’t know that I’d necessarily consider the Moon card to be evil. Misunderstood, possibly, but it more concerns intuition, dreams. Trial leading to illumination,” she continued. “Although you’d find that there are more pretty things in the world that are ‘evil’ than you might expect. Especially when you consider animals.” Often the prettiest were the most dangerous, except for commonly in the Wizarding world. Acromantulas weren’t particularly pretty, but non-magical creatures were a different story.
But then she returned to the front of the room, and stopped in front of her desk before turning to the class as a whole. “Well, I think it’s about time to finish things up. Those of you who haven’t finished your readings can feel free to finish, but those who have are free to go,” she said with another smile. “I’ll post the homework assignment shortly, so keep your eye out. And thank you all for a great first lesson,” she continued, with a little nod, before looping around her desk to take a seat again. She still needed to finalize a bit as to what she wanted to assign for homework, but she planned on sticking around until the last student left. Especially in case they had further questions, as she didn’t want them to feel obligated to make an extra trip to her office when they could ask now.

FINALLY!
As soon as the words "free to go", Treyen grabbed his backpack (amazing how he never took anything out of it), got up and started to walk away from his table, away from Jake. "See ya, Professor" he said, without even looking at Bishop.
He should've waited for Ellie, shouldn't he?
Treyen only wanted out of there. Too bad he had to share a Common Room with the seventh year he was walking away from.

Nika turned to Emily, thinking that she would be quite relieved that the class was over because she was talking about not liking divination. "I think I'm going to head back to the common room." Nika was hoping that Emily would like to join her.

Charley sat nervously at her seat, listening covertly to the advice Professor Bishop gave the other students, trying to take in as much as possible, without actually letting anyone know that she wasn't quite sure what to do. She'd looked up the meanings of almost all of the cards in her spread, but she was unsure how to interpret them collectively. The Fool, the Chariot, the High Priestess, Strength, the Hermit, the Lovers, the Wheel of Fortune, the Tower, Judgement, and the Star..... she continued contemplating, silently humming her favourite song as her script swept across the pages of her notebook with the descriptions of each card.

If you had mentioned to Ellie that she had not moved, aside from breathing, for the entirety of the class period, she would not have believed you. And yet, she couldn't remember a thing.
She had, in fact, remained in the same position she'd initially taken after walking in. And she had been staring at the same nonexistent point in the air. She, probably, would have stayed that way for another hour or more. But she couldn't ignore the sound of scraping chairs and footsteps as kids left the class.
As she slowly became aware of her surroundings, she became more away of her own body. This included the fact that the leg under the one that was crossed over it had fallen asleep. Ellie slowly lifted her right leg off of the left, making a face at the odd feeling. She also felt the wetness on her face. Weirdddd. She took up the sleeve of her robes and wiped away the fresh as well as the dried tears.
That nauseous feeling that she had earlier, had left. Or she'd forgotten about it. Or in the excitement of discovering tears and a sleeping limb, it had disappeared.
Taking the fact that people were in fact leaving, she slowly, and shakily stood up, testing her left leg to see if it would hold the weight. It still hurt, but it was usable. Then she turned silently to the door, walking out. She bother a glance to Bishop.

"Why don't you read first so that I can see how it works?" Cass asked with a smile "I'm afraid I haven't been paying attention during class..." She added sheepishly
'Okay' said Audrey, though she hadn't been paying attention either. She had to rely on her previous knowledge of tarot readings. "Let's do the three card layout. It's super simple, the car on your left is your past, the middle card is present, and the one to your right is future. All you have to do is pick three cards after I shuffle them." Audrey fanned out the cards for Cass to pick three. "Also you should have some sort of question in your head while you draw."
"Earth of Fire", " the spark. Raven say as he read the book
he maybe a kid, Raven think, but it's definitely true to him, he loves runs all over the place of Hogwarts, he choose or always find out he play, even in a conversation with friends. but this is also his fears, being stagnant like water, in a bowl, if he stay to as playful.
SPOILER!!: card no 10 = probable outcome
he may be knowledgeable, he think in magic, instinctual as muggle, reveal the secrets (no don't do that)and make a decision about a anything.
secret knowledge (his magic); yes, maybe I'll be learning some very odd things. "if being a wizard is odd to my mother, then I'd love to be at odd". Raven murmur

Raven paused he need to inhale some oxygen to continue.
"The fourth card signify that I'm a wizard rather than a muggle, and I reflect the past in the present, and make move upon it, the fifth say I am full of enthusiasm, energy, aggression. and make a direct maybe decision, and intelligent." Raven paused again, eyeing the professor, giving emphasis to his word.
"The sixth told me to be at great transformation, and changes, in the near future, that there is a huge changes will going to happen to me, the seventh card say like that my magic is at best, when my emotion is at high, the eighth card say I have the spark. That maybe lead me to "usual" directions and seasons" Raven momentary stop.
"The ninth card say that I am not the serious type wizard in all aspect of life, I am always find a ways to get funny thing, even in awkward situation, the spark, that is my hope professor, and the fears, being stagnant like water in a bowl, if I stay to as playful one. and lastly the deciding card , the tenth card say I become knowledgeable maybe in magic, and instinctual maybe like muggle, but I have also the tendency of revealing secrets (I didn't do that) and can make a decision about a anything. and lastly the tendency of making very ODD thing. Isn't that right professor, tell me please." Raven say likely begging to Professor.

Kurumi looked over at Eino as she began putting her various pieces of parchment together. "I think that's enough for now," she smiled nervously. The cards had already given her plenty to think about and she wasn't sure how much more she could handle. "I hope the cards were right about you and Faustus," she said as she put all her supplies back into her bag. She needed to make a trip up to the Owlery right away to check and see if that special delivery was there.
Throwing her bag over her shoulder, Kurumi walked towards the front of the room holding the tarot cards that her and Eino had been using. "Um, Professor Bishop? Would you mind if I held onto these for a little? I'd like to maybe practice a little more on my own."

QUOTE=nogoodforyou;10119884]"Nice to meet you too," said Helena, smiling. "Yes, I'm a first year," she laughed.
"Is that okay?" said Helena when she finally finished with the three cards.[/QUOTE]
Lucy was very excited to know what her cards read. She looked at Helena and said "Helena is a very pretty name, i like it!" saying this she smiled and looked for what cards did she pick for her. It was The Empress, The Hierophant and The Star. She loved all the three as she felt there were correct for her. "Wow! You’re good at this too; a little try and then it'll be great!" she said to the first year.
She had a little question in her mind for Helena and asked "The card Empress is a creator of romance, so does that mean that i'm romantic or something?" she asked confusingly to her. She was pretty sure Helena could answer this one.

Damian stopped peeking around to view what others were doing. She took out her wand and pointed at the opened book on her desk. It closed with a sound, almost falling apart. "I'll... finish later..." she hissed in Parseltongue. Damian knew exactly that she won't. Instead, she will spend some time searching for cards. She was frustrated that she wasn't able to get her hands on the cards and practice. Although, she would rather use Legilimency to get her answers... she was too cautious about getting in trouble. Damian wanted to stand up. Yet she decided to wait for someone else to do it first. She petted her wand for a moment, then pointed it in the air. "Avis!" A black crow was launched from the point of her wand. In flew a few laps over her head and disappeared. Damian was able to turn little things in birds but never was she able to cast a long lasting spell to create a bird from thin air.

"Let me see," murmured Helena, looking in her book. "It says here that the Empress is the mother, so it is more generous, loving and giving. But..." she frowned slightly, reading more, "yes, I think it means you are romantic as well," she added, smiling.

Lucy was really pleased to see that Helena had cleared her doubt "Thanks, i was really confused on that one" As Lucy went to the second card she had another doubt and asked "Helena, the Hierophant (or High Priest) says that it deals with worldly problems. Does that mean i'll have many problems in my life?" she asked worriedly. She didn't really like problems. Lucy had no questions with the third card all she was worried was about the Hierophant.

The Hierophant, thought Helena, looking again in her book. "I don't think so," she said, smiling, "It says here something about the Hierophant being something like a teacher, or an advisor, that may mean you'll deal with problems, most probably not yours. I think you will be the one to bring the peace," she added, grinning.
