Iris grinned as Fallon did the same as she did, and showed of her dress off. The blonde blushed a little as Fallon praised the dress.

She looked at Fallon as she agreed to run into someone with her dress, and Iris laughed. “Awesome. I’ll make sure I have my camera following you around.” She grinned and winked at Fallon. Iris was being serious. She WOULD get a picture of Fallon taking out a guy with the dress. MUAHA.

As Fallon acknowledged Jimbo, Iris smiled. “He’s awesome. And weird. But a good weird.”




Iris grinned and blushed. “Um… Wow. Thanks, Satine. I’d never really thought of doing that. I suppose it would be fun though.” She smiled sheepishly, and just stood there, kind of thinking about what it would be like to work somewhere like Madam Malkins.

“Jimbo is a … Well … He’s just a nutter. That’s it. He’s not like … a creepy, weird nutter though.” Iris laughed a bit and looked at Jimbo, “He might try to add other describing words in front of ‘nutter’ though.” She stuck her tongue out at Jimbo and reached up the little way to ruffle his hair, in the way that your big sister would. Even though Jimbo was bigger.

What ever.

She looked at Satine as she asked this. “I think he is… He never really said so.”

Oh. Well, that answered her question. Hehe.

As Satine greeted Aaron and spoke to him, Iris found herself blushing a bit. Okay, a lot. Had neither of them told Satine that they’d been propely going out since the end of last year?

Oops.

Aaron could tell her. She’d practically brought the topic up on him, anyway. Heh.




Iris looked away from Fallon and Jimbo as she heard Aaron. She turned around and smiled happily at him. “Hey, Aaron. You look great, too.”

The girl looked down at her dress and pushed the sides in with her fists, probably out of awkwardness. Iris wasn’t even sure why, either. She looked back up at Aaron and grinned, “Ooh. I didn’t see you after the game, but well done on the win! It was a good game.” Iris scooted past Satine and gave him a tight hug, like, just a ‘well done’ hug… Not like the hugs she’d usually give him. She stood back and smiled at him. Aaron looked good in a suit. Definately more than Jimbo. Though that might have something to do with the polka dots.



Iris giggled and grinned at Fallon’s comment. That kind of thing was coming more and more common with Fallon these days.

LE GASP. She was turning into a serial FLIRT.

Ah well. It was bound to happen to one of them. Iris was just glad that it didn’t seem to be her that it was happening to.

When Aaron turned up, Iris frowned a little in Fallon’s direction. She seemed … colder than usual towards Aaron. Normally, she’d seem happier to see him. Iris mentally shrugged, figuring that she was over thinking things that just didn’t need it.

“Uh… Okay. We’ll find you later, then. Or you find us. Whichever.” Iris watched as Fallon left then, and then looked around, raising her eyebrow unintentionally. Why did Fallon need to leave so suddenly when Aaron turned up? When Iris realised that her eyebrows were raised, she grinned and looked towards the direction of the music.

“Well… Are we going to head into the Great Hall? It looks prettier in there than it does out here.” She nodded matter-of-factly. She knew it did. She’d saw it, when her group were making all the moving topiaries.

Which, were totally all Iris’ idea.

"Three? Isn't that a bit greedy?" What could you do with 3 kids? They were such a burden anyway. And that would be just one. He looked at the shiny thing. Ooo it was like a photo, but not a photo. He had to get one of them. Shiny. He blinked slightly, correcting his momentary lapse in concentration. Oh she was ok. Quite fat. He didn't like women with any weight on them. Well not too much weight anyway.

"Yeah well sometimes when you lose something, nothing can replace that. Nothing." He still hadn't gotten over the loss of Natasha, or other things either. He didn't want to. Unlike Mr Selfish over here.

"Yeaaah it is. Mike misses you. He told me to tell you that if I saw you tonight." Chris said with a small chuckle. Mike was a piece of work for suuuure! "The family is doing good. Nick is getting ready to come here soon." He said with a small smile to Lena. Awwww Nicky was almost alll grown up! Pshhh! Yeah right!

Cadence strutted through the entrance hall, her swooshy dress swaying with her hips, and her heels clicking confidently against the floor. Checking of her shoulder to make sure Nate hadn't followed her, she accidentally bumped into someone and stumbled backwards, but she recovered gracefully. Thank Merlin for wearing heels! Giving him a dazzling smile, she said, "Oh, I'm so sorry! Are you alright?" Not that tiny Cadence and her ballroom/gymnast figure could really hurt anyone, but it was still polite to ask, right?

"You shouldn't expect it to, and you can never replace a person." He tucked the crystal away. "To try and replace them only dishonors the memory of that person, and disrespect the person who is chosen as their replacement. She is not Natasha, nor Slade, nor do I expect her to be either, or to love her the same. These children will also never replace Damian. He will always be my first son. As for three... we didn't have much choice in the matter. She became pregnant, and it happened to be triplets. I'd certainly hope you know your birds and bees by now, Marco. But then again, you always were a little dim-witted."

As he searched the room once more for the person who was supposed to be responsible for taking everyones outdoor robes, someone bumped into him from behind. This was a common scenario Varius found himself in - he really should invest in a high vis vest or something of the sort. "You're a bit keen, but at least your here now," Varius said, shaking off her apologies and removing his outdoor cloak and throwing it over the girls head. "I did expect you to be at the door upon my arrival but I suppose late is better than never."

He dusted of his sleeves and tapped his cane on the marble floors, giving of a wonderful tapping sound. Canes were like wands - you couldn't have any old cane; there was a special bond there. "My, my," Varius exclaimed haven actually taken notice of the cloak-taker-girl, "They certainly splashed out on the service's uniform! Nice frock - hopefully the Headmaster will let you keep it once this shindig is over. Is he paying you well? Probably not. Just typical of a school, really. Here, take this." He pulled out a galleon and placed it on the top of her head, patting it neatly down, "My tip to you for your work... just don't crease my cloak! Do you know how many Bott's beans that had to be sold to get that? Nor' do I. Funny that. We have something in common, see? Wonderful."

This girl probably regretted bumping into Varius by now. For anyone who didn't know him, he was pretty random, energetic and slightly relentless and blunt in his opinions. And if it weren't already obvious, quite ignorant to his surroundings. He actually wondered why the girl was still standing here and wasn't transporting his cloak to the cloakroom. Did she expect more money? Surely a galleon was a plentiful tip!

Cadence raised her eyebrows at the man and popped her hip, placing her hand on it. Did Cadence LOOK like the sort of girl who would have such a job? Did he realize how expensive this gown had been? When he handed her his things, she eyed them then looked back up at him, her eyes flashing dangerously, and then dropped all of it on the floor... including the galleon. "Sorry, I guess that since it isn't my job to be treated like a house elf, I'm a bit out of practice. You'll have to excuse me for dropping your things. My schedule stays pretty busy between studying for OWLs, training for gymnastics, and competing in ballroom competitions," she said in a tone dripping with sarcasm.

Okay, so this guy was obviously an alumni, and looking at his face, Cadence had to admit he looked slightly familiar, like someone she had seen in a dream once or something. Though Cadi probably shouldn't have been rude to him, he had deserved it, ordering her around that way. Psh, yeah right. Hanging people's things dressed like this. What a joke! Crazy man!

Marco shook his head, "I know all about the birds and the bees. I have done for a while now. It doesn't take a genius to know about that." Erikson should know that. "How long have you been with her?" Not that he really cared, but 3 kids in the space of a month, would be excessive.

Varius watched as his cloak and money fell to the floor and wasn't sure how to react. Any normal person would probably be screaming at the girl by now or at least showing some sign of shock or surprise. "I suppose it could just stay there for the rest of the night. Hopefully no one will mind," he eventually said stepping over his cloak and bending down to pick up the galleon, "This, however, I refuse to leave around for scroungers."

"Wait. You mean to say your not on the service staff? I did think you were a little tall to be a house elf... I just assumed some half breed of sorts... that can't be your real nose, can it?" he tilted his head to the side as if he was examining the girls nasal area, admittedly with some temptation to see how many fingers he could get up one of her nostrils. He did, of course, resist such temptations. He had learned to hold back on these sorts of things after being counseled by his mother more than he liked now that he spent all his time at home now.

"Funny," he said, returning his head to normal stance, "I'm studying OWLs too... if you're a student here I would have been in the same year as you in our earlier years. Your name, however, has seemed to have slipped my mind... I guess that happens when I spend all my time believing you were serving me my drumsticks every night and not sitting next to me in charms class. I'm Varius Tipps if you don't recall," he reached out a hand and placed it over the girls head, giving it a good rub as was his usual introduction. Hopefully she hadn't spent too much time on her hair or at least had some anti-Varius-rubbing-hair-spray atop those locks.

Satine glanced around with a lost smile on her face. She was a little lost as to why Fallon's personality had just changed so suddenly. She glanced at Iris and Aaron, "So, ummm...have I missed something? Fallon disappeared pretty quickly." she said with one eyebrow cocked up.

At Iris' suggestion to enter, Satine got excited again..."O Yes yes yes, let's go inside..." she said as she stepped between Iris and Aaron and linked elbows with them both as if she was escorting them in. "Here, ya'll can both be my dates..." she said as she started leading them in.

Cadence still stared at the guy with the same fire burning behind her eyes, an indignant expression etched all over her face. When he asked if that was her real nose, she let out a noise of disbelief. "Yes, of course it's my real nose!" she said defensively. There was nothing wrong with her nose, why would it not be her real nose? This guy was weird. And kind of rude. As he reached out to touch her head, Cadence instinctively dodged his touch. Fast reflexes, always a plus. When he mentioned that he would have been in the same house as her, she stared at him again, though, and then he said his name. Dawning comprehension appeared all over her face.

Varius. And he hadn't changed a bit. "You probably don't remember me, but I'm Cadence Ballard. I only went her for the first part of first year, then my good friend Set was murdered in the library, and I destroyed the Common Room," she explained, because this tended to be how people remembered her. Either the girl who's boyfriend was murdered or the girl who destroyed the Common Room. After a few moments, she looked at him and said, "You were kind of mean to me!"

Iris looked at Satine as she said this, feeling a bit of relief. Kind of. So, maybe she wasn't thinking into it too hard. Fallon DID seem off. Iris just looked towards the direction that Fallon rushed off into "I ... I don't think you have." Iris said innocently and curiously, as she faced Satine again.

Satine gave Iris little time to ponder on this, because next thing she knew, Satine was leading Iris and Aaron into the Great Hall and going on about them being her dates.

Or something like that.

Laughing as she got directed to the Great Hall, Iris tried to grab a hold of Jimbo, who seemed to be VERY quiet. Maybe it was because of all the new people. "You coming in, too, Jimbo?" She called to him. Hopefully he'd follow them in.

"Don't worry, love. I wont lose one." Mads, waggled his eyebrows at her. Then she asked that question. He knew it would come, he just didn't think it would come so soon after they got her. "I'm sure mum would call if anything was wrong darling. Our boy is just fine." He smiled, and kissed her forehead.

Maddox was about to tell her what he was smiling at when Lima was suddenly distracted by an old friend.....







They weren't really paying any attention to him so he slowly walked over to the picture of himself and Lima. They looked so young, and it was only 5 years since it had been taken...And he had no hair. It was strange seeing himself without hair again. It had been so long since he had shaved his head. He was almost thinking about doing it again when he noticed another picture of himself when he was on the Quidditch team. He grinned, and picked up the picture. Goodness how he missed playing.

"You are bad," Kay retorted playfully.

"Are you sure? He could have some critter that's the-the size of a fingernail in one of his pockets!" she whispered. "Or he left a pet outside and it will somehow find its way into the punchbowl or onto the dancefloor!"

Helena chuckled; that sure did sound like Chris's roommate and band member. Be sure to tell him I miss him too, she teased, sticking her tongue out quickly before laughing.... I wish I was still here to pick on him, she commented with a smile, but her previous statement had caught up with her and made her think of how nice it was to talk to Chris again.... but she hurt people too much to keep it permanent.

"Trust me, if one shows up, I highly doubt it'll be Tag. It's more likely to be a current student trying to cause trouble. You remember how it was." He winked and then looked around the entrance. It was starting to get crowded. "Shall we go in? There's a waltz starting...and I smell food."

Smiling, she was about to take a step towards the open doors, ready to drag Patroclus and Josh with her, when her second favorite Gryffindor spoke up. Yes! Here they went!

Glancing up to the Gryffie on her left, a small smirk appeared on her face as she leaned over to get a better look at his face. Was he...blushing? Surely not. "Perhaps you should take your coat off, if it's too hot in here for you." she suggested before tugging the both of them along.

Leaning against the wall, Savannah started to cry. Well, she had already been crying. Was she crying about the fear or the fact that she was upset ? Savvy had no idea. Her wrist hurt, she wasn't going to the hospital wing, she had to withstand this pain for a while. This ball was awful, freaking awful. She needed Nekoda, or Aiden. Not this new weird flirty Aiden,she needed the one she dated. She wanted him back.

"Of course," Kay smiled and gave her hair a gentle pat. "But let's first have a dance before eating."

"I dunno if he would be, but that would be funny." She giggled. She had never thought of that and she wasn't sure if Mads had either. If he did he hadn't said anything like that to her. "You can meet him, yes. Seeing as you're going to be home soon anyway." And as long as she was careful with him it would be okay.

"He's evil? That isn't very nice." She frowned a little. Was this boy mean to Shana or something? "And who is Tammy?"

And here was Amanda. "Well, look who it is!" She grinned as he saw her old friend. It had been ages. And Amanda looked great for someone who was so busy all the time. "So how have you been? Fame being good to you still?"

And where had her husband gotten off to? "Mads! Are you going to go in and dance soon?" She wanted to dance with him.

Vanessa was walking around the ballroom and saw Savannah. She was crying....again. She rolled her eyes and went over to her. "What's wrong, Savannah?" She asked a little bit worried, but then again it was usually about drama or she was hurt. She sighed and looked as she held her wrist. What happened this time?

"Honestly, I've been crazy busy; just finished recording a new album which should be coming out later this summer and I've got another tour scheduled to promote it, my manager is working me to the point where I'm constantly exhausted. Plus the fact of the matter now that I'm working in the Ministry on top of all this, I swear I'm going to head to the looney bin by the age of 20." Sometimes being a rock star was hard work and it didn't seem like it was really worth all the issues. "What about you? How's things been going?" Of course she wanted to know what was going on with Lima because it had been ages.

Savvy whined over-dramatically for a few moments. "Everything's gone wrong ! My date ditched me for his mean and ugly ex girlfriend. He broke my wrist while dancing, I think I have skin cancer oh and Ella is Aiden's date !"she sobbed, not even looking at Vanessa. Too...much....drama.Ugh. She just wanted to like crawl in a hole a die. "And you know the worst part was ? Cody's little girlfriend just looked at me like I was some ugly trashy girl."She said, sniffling. She had never been treated like that ever. not ever. This must have been what it felt like to be ugly, ugly and hurt.

Vanessa barely listened during Savannah's rampage of words, she was too caught up looking for Patrick. "Sounds dramatic." She said simply, looking back at her. "So why don't you go talk to Cody? Why didn't he follow you?" She asked looking around once more.

Mads was quickly pulled out of his memories by his wife's voice, he turned with a swift motion, and walked over to her. "I will dance whenever your ready to go into the ballroom. I know you are...catching up." He smiled at the two lovely ladies talking to her.

He was slightly surprised that he hadn't seen Nico yet. Hopefully his elusive best friend would turn up soon.
