Dani shook her head. "It won't work, he'd expect that from you, you're the most obvious choice for something like that." She continued whispering. "We've already had one idiot mess up, we don't need another dumb mistake." What was she missing? There had to be something they were missing. Then she saw it. "You guys, he's standing directly in front of a lantern. If we make it fall it will distract him."

"Well... how about I run at him... two of you cast spells... and one pulls her away," Jake whispered to her. He was soooooo tempted to do this, it would be his one shot. "Wait... whadya mean I'm the most obvious choice?"

Chuckling softly to himself as they continued to talk amongst themselves, he decided to make his move especially since the little Ravenclaw had finally worked it out.

Flicking his wand at the lanterns that were hanging over their heads he released them from the ceiling. And yep you guessed it they weren't just lanterns at all. They were containers filled with different coloured dye.

They fell from the ceiling and...

SPLAT!!!

...right on top of their heads!!


That's what happens when you take too long to save someone...hehe!

Well that's a nice thing to say for a little firstie. "I am here you know and still able." relieving the icepack from his eye. Apparently Daniel knew something about healing so the eye incident didn't even hurt or show any sign of swelling.

Daniel then interrupted, "Can we go back to the decoy part. Where one will distract him and the others will do their thing?" he said.

Daniel was not so eagerly listening at the young Ravenclaw, when something hit him and the others. And then, wet all over.

EVIL! Divad loved this teacher! Totally predictible and yet soo unpredictible...

He had to admire the crafty work, so set up, and yet totally spontaneous! Yay baby!

"DUDE!" Jake bellowed, glaring up at Lawson. "NOT COOL!"

Sure, the dye wouldn't affect his hair... but come ON! He didn't want to be BLUE for the rest of his life.

And he'd missed his chance to pounce.

He'd show them.

"RAWWWRRRR!" Jake screamed through his teeth, lunging forwards. He would pounce, if it was the last thing he'd do.

And it probably would be.

Dani let out a shriek as blue dye covered her face and hair. It scared her horribly and it was sticky. After standing there for a moment she started laughing. "Now that I didn't expect." She looked at the others and wondered if she looked as funny as them.

Jake ran toward Lawson and that was a bad idea. She ran after him, grabbing his arm. She thought to herself how humerous it was for the others. She was a tiny eleven year old, clinging to his arm like she could hold him back. "Bad idea."

Oh thats just NASTY! no EVIL! no gaaah Lyra shouted in her head when the dye fell on her head and looked at the other colorful students and started to laugh too. "we go with the distraction plan"

Christine could not control her laughter after what she just saw. The four "Volunteers" were not rainbow colored students. She was extremely glad that she had not been picked on. Christine looked at Professor Lawson and realized that he was an evil genius.

Cari jumped. Or she would have. She was rather... restricted.... in her movements at the moment, being all held tight to a mad ex-Auror who was clearly bent on torturing his volunteers.

She dearly hoped he didn't include her among that category.

"You're enjoying yourself too much," she told him.

And Jake was not. Uh oh... Though Marcus was her "hostage taker" she was much more content to keep away from Jake while she was wandless, so she pressed her back as far into Marcus as she could feasibly go, which wasn't very far.

Daniel laughed at the blue colored Ravenclaw. He then looked at the damage done at him and said "Cool. Blue Wizards." he laughed at himself. He tapped his wan upon himself and said "SCOURGIFY" then the blue wetness went bye, bye.

He then looked at the Hufflepuff as he was being held back by the Ravenclaw gal. He went over to them and stopped him, "Let's stick to her plan.' pointing at the Ravenclaw.

Dani looked back at the others. "We still haven't accomplished our mission, so would one of you like to help me out?" She wasn't very strong.

Rawrrrrr, RAWWRWRRRRRWRWRRR!!!!!

Jake struggled. He pulled. He tugged. He screamed through his teeth.

He was insane.

A rabid badger.

"He... un-trust-worthy... lemme... GRRRRRR!" Jake stressed, struggling to surge forwards but still managing.

Marcus calmly brought the wand around from Caroline's neck and pointed it at Jake. "Pertrificus Totalus" he muttered.

He stepped around Caroline and cast a silent shield charm around himself, just in case the other students had any other bright ideas. "Wrong move Mr Upstead, what have I told you about letting your emotions get in the way of your performance?"

He looked over to the young Ravenclaw. "I liked your thinking Miss, you kept a level head and took in your surroundings and chose to use something as a distraction rather than go in all wands blazing. Please now take your seats." Marcus turned back to Jake and shook his head. "Perhaps you will make a good decoration for my office...or maybe the Ravenclaw common room seeing how you're now all blue."

"Okay class could any of you handled the situation differently?"

Daniel holds the arm of the Hufflepuff and stops him from attacking. "Well, I thought ought to go with her plan." he said.

And then a flash of light hits the Hufflepuff kid. Petrificus Totalis, he thought and he let go of the kid. He then followed Professor Lawson's order and took his seat.

Dani moved toward her seat. They hadn't done it. If only they had been able to work together. She sighed, frustrated. She looked around wondering what other would have done. She had failed, just like they had failed with her father. A tear ran down her cheek.

Satine raised her hand, "I thought Dani had a great idea...but once you had dropped some of the lanterns on their heads, I would've tried to use the rest of those to our advantage...I doubt you would've expected your own handy work being used against you." she smiled and thought that wasn't too bad of an idea.

Jack raised his hand and replied, 'I would have tried Patrificus Totalus, but against somebody as talented as you, it would have been blocked easily.'

Huh... Suddenly the students were all colorful! Snort. Gosh that should be difficult to get off.

Miranda raised her hand, asking the same question, she toterly wanted to know if she wasn't all insane for wanting a spell to ricochet.
"Sir, maybe you could make your spell ricochet on a wall and have it hit the target, that would be you in this situation, from behind? That is if spells can ricochet..." well that was another thing she had seen in that action movie.
"Oh and maybe one could like talk to the person holding someone hostage? Like trying to take control of the situation by creating conversation and at the same time thinking and looking around to see what you can use in your surroundings, to your advantage!" Miranda had raised her eyebrows, excited at the suspense, like she was watching a James Bond movie in her head.

Allie raised her hand.
"Well maybe they could have tried to disarm you first, Professor?" she said. "That way you would have been easier to defeat."

Daniel stood from his seat and gave the wand back to Ms. Avalon.


As he went back to his seat he noticed the young Ravenclaw. He approached her and said, "That' fine. I am Daniel by the way." he said patting her back to comfort her.

I. Hate. Him.

Jake would have said it, would have screamed it... but he was all... rigid-like. Not cool. This guy... he just... not coooool.

You think I'm coming to another of your lessons, mate, you got another thing coming.

So now Jake was angry, blue, all body-binded... and his head hurt. Stupid floor, getting in the way when Jake had to fall.

He neeeded to struggle... NEEDED!

His eyes could still move, and Jake shot his well-rehearsed death glare in the general direction of Lawson.

I know people, dude. People with cats. Pink cats... ohhhhh yes.

Lyra walked to her seat dissapointed, it wasn't easy but she thought the ravenclaw girl had a incredible way of thinking. She looked at her and noticed a tear. "are you ok?" she whispered to her a bit worried.

It's hard to say Professor Christine said. Standing here on the side you could think of things to do, but when you have the pressure of "saving someones life" on you its hard to think clear minded.

Karma raised her hand to offer a suggestion.

"To go along with my fellow housemate's idea," she said, making sure to give the girl credit. "A distraction from one of us could have provided an escape route to catch you off guard. From there, the hostage may be set free by a spell one of the other sent to you, or to the attacker, really."

She noticed the girl tearing up slightly, and walked over to wipe the tear away with her sleeve.

"Don't worry, it's not your fault," she muttered.
