Lizzie had written down some of the security things her fellow students had named and now finished the last "know if what you're brewing is poisonus so you don't try it". Putting down her quill she got her cauldron ready and watched the professor, waiting for further instructions.

Ashley looked around and saw that people were starting to get their cauldrons organised so she too re-arranged her desk and reached for her cauldron. She waited patiently for the professors instructions.

Sarah looked up as Mariel rose out of her seat,then saw she wanted her to go too.Standing up Sarah wondered where they were going,before she spotted Nate sitting a little way away.
Stopping near his table next to Mariel she smiled at him."Oh hi Nathaniel," she began,hoping this time he might notice her. "Yeah come join us if you want."

"Okay, now do you want me to tell you what this potion is or would you rather brew it, and then test it to see what it does?" he asked.

Nathaniel looked up from his parchment "Why hello there stranger" he said with a grin. "Are you talking in class? Tisk Tisk. What if you lose points?" he asked with his infamous grin. "Are you expecting my hair to turn green?" he laughed. "Of course I'll come sit with you!".

"Hello" said Nathaniel to the girl. She looked over excited to be talking to him. Interesting. Interesting. He gathered his things and followed them up front

Damian raised his hand " I would test it after brewing it. It would be funny" said he with a smile. "So we can see and test what the potion does".

Jack looked at the Headmaster "I'd rather test it out" he smiled "I want to see if it burns through something" Jack laughed

Nathaniel thought for a moment. Maybe he could try it on Mariel. Or not. He raised his hand "Professor, I think that it would be fun if you didn't tell us what it was and we tested it out." he said in a low tone.

"hopefully not in our stomach" laughed Damian.

Lupus slowly raised his hand. "I think it'd be fun to brew the potion and then test it, but not if it's dangerous, or poisonous, or generally embarrasing for the testee." Lupus could vividly remember his dad leaving unlabled potions bottles around the house when he was little and didn't fancy reliving a particularly nasty accident he'd had with a Hiccoughing Potion.

Mariel offered Nathaniel a smirk in response to his words. "Professor gave us permission to walk around a bit and I'm not doing any talking during the actual lesson..." She chuckled a bit at the hair remark, then stopped immediately. What is they were doing something like that today? Subconsciously touching her hair protectively, she walked back to her seat expecting Nathaniel and Sarah to follow.

Once situated back at her seat, Mariel looked up to hear the professor speak again. Immediately she raised her hand, "Professor, I like to be well-informed about any potion before I prepare it." She knew that probably wasn't going to be a popular answer, but she didn't care what others thought. It made her incredibly nervous to enter into something blindly. The better prepared one was, the better the outcome.

Lynn thought about the question a moment before he responded. He then raised his hand and spoke.

"I'm much rather brew the potion without knowing what it was supposed to be. It would test my skills better, I know."

Brew it first? And then see what it does?? That sounded like a dangerous idea. She just hoped she wouldn't have to be the guinea pig for testing if the class chose that method.

"Professor, for safety's sake, shouldn't we know what we're brewing???" She paused, then continued. "Though, I guess as long as we follow the instructions procisely, it doesn't matter if we don't what the potion is...as long as no one is going to have to drink it." Particularly, me, she thought.

"Oh Mariel.I have to pick on you. It's what made our friendship silly!" he grinned. All these girls at Hogwarts were crazy.
Nathaniel set his things down next to Mariels. He had seen her freak out about the hair comment. So him being who he was he looked at her hair and said "Mariel.What is in your hair!?". He was as serious as could be and his eyes were huge.

Hmmm he was looking at her quizzically.I only said hello,maybe I have something on my face, she thought,wiping it just to be sure.Oh well,at least he hasn't ignored me this time.

Looking back towards the Professor when he started talking Sarah's hand shot in the air.
"I would like to do it without knowing what it is,Sir.Make it more exciting!"
Grinning she plonked herself back down in her seat and pulled her cauldron closer to her.Maybe this class might be fun after all....as long as she didn't make anything explode.

Ashley raised her hand and nervously said "I think it would be good to brew the potion and then test it, would be more exciting to find out what it does that way."

Nathaniel couldn't help but bust out laughing when Sarah wiped her face off. He looked at her with a raised eyebrow and said "What. are you doing?". He brushed his hair out of his eyes.

Well this class seems to be allright, Miranda thought while listening to the Professor slash Headmaster speak.
Now it would be fun to brew something without knowing what it's supposed to do. That ought to teach you a lesson in making something correct. Miranda snorted at the thought, hopefully nothing to serious would happen.

As she sat down, Miranda noticed someone else sitting besides her.
"Ameera!" It was the girl she had met in Arithmancy - a class she was more than happy not to be attending right now, it was as hard as math. "This should be easier an easier class, right?" Miranda chuckled, hoping.

Miranda raised her hand to add her opinion, "Professor, I think we should get a surprise, its more fun that way!" she grinned, "Maybe we can learn more that way..."

Jake raised his hand.

"As much as I trust that you wouldn't give us something all dangerous," he said nervously. "I'd still want to know before I brew it. Also, those who have brewed it before will be able to correct any mistakes they might make..."

Now why did that sound so... lame?

"Well you were looking at me strangely after I said hello,so I thought maybe there was something on my face."
Evidently not, she thought,turning her face away.
She really didn't seem to be able to click with him,a simple hello got weird looks,like she was mad.Sarah wondered how Mariel had done it.

Proffesor, Spence said, I think it is much more fun if we were able to experiment and find out for ourselves what stuff works with what. Spence hoped he took it into consideration.

Nathaniel kept on laughing. "I wasn't aware that I looked at you any different that I look at Mariel" he said as he blushed. He didn't know why he had done that.

Sarah huffed.She didn't really appreciate being laughed at.
"Well you did.I thought it was either because you thought I was mad for just saying hello to you...or I had a mark on my face."
She turned away again to avoid looking at him laughing.Maybe I don't want to know him if he acts like this.

Lasca looked at the Professor. "I would rather find out after brewing the potion, Professor." This would be her first but at least it made things interesting.

Watching the exchange between her friends she couldn't help but laugh. The young girl couldn't help but feel a little on the outside though. Sighing she returned her attention to arrangeing her things to prepare for the brewing.

"Look.I'm sorry. I didn't mean to upset you.". Geez where girls emotional he thought to himself. "You just looked like you were hardcore excited to say hello to me. I'm not used to it. I have few friends here. Mariel being one of the few good ones." he said looked at Mariel.Nathaniel snapped back and looked at Sarah. "Sorry"
