The still life portrait slides back into place behind you and you find yourself standing in a warm, welcoming underground room. The room is decorated in the Hufflepuff house colours, and gathered around the large fireplace are several huge, plump sofas which resemble fluffy clouds. There are lots of comfortable armchairs scattered around for you to rest your weary bodies in.

A long table sits in the brightest part of the room (torches are lit all day long) for the students who would rather do their homework in here.

Portraits of past well known Hufflepuffs hang on one wall, among them are Cedric Diggory and Nymphadora Tonks who died in the dark days of You-Know-Who's power. Remember and honour them as you walk to or from your dormitories.

Two perfectly round, barrel top doors are positioned on opposing sides of the common room. They both open to reveal underground tunnels which will lead you to your common rooms; boys on the right, girls on the left.

"Well, He shuffled about in his chair to get more comfortable, "There was once this young girl, uh, lets call her... Hannah," He blushed slightly, "I can't remember what my mum called her, but anyway, she used to vomit whenever she saw blood even if it was her own, and then one day she met a boy who was bleeding badly, she was about to run away when he called out to her, 'Help! Please, I think I'm dying.' She told him about her fear of blood, and he said back to her, 'Why should you be afraid of something that we all have in common?' She paused, but her fear was still over-riding her. He then said, 'It runs through your body and through mine, it keeps us living.' She then turned and helped the young boy with his injuries." Sebastian stopped and caught his breath,

"I don't know weather your brain works in the same way mine does, but it always seemed to help for me." He blushed again, and looked at his feet.

"It was a nice story," Jade said thoughtfully. "I had never thought of blood in that way. I mean, it really keeps us alive but I always thought it was something terrible and disgusting. Thanks."

Sebastian smiled, blushed even more and looked down at his feet.
"Yeah, well, your welcome," He managed to mutter out.
"My dad did loads of things with biology, so I had lectures about blood all the time."

Jade laughed. "My mother hates blood as well, so I guess that's why I never really did anything to fight my fear."

She listened to the story that Sebastian told. That was very pretty, and he was right, but speak is easier than do it... she tought.
"Another one afraid of blood? I... it's not fear, I just don´t like to see. Welcome to the club, Jade."

Eva turned to face Sebastian:
"You haven´t told us how that happenned. Why were you bleeding?"

"I am glad that you are ok. You scared me Sebastian!" Jamie exclaimed. Jamie was so afraid. She has never seen that much blood before. "What were you doing when this happened?" Jamie asked him.

"Um, I was bleeding because of... Well..." He paused and blushed again at his own foolishness. "I fell over while walking with a pile of books."
He looked down at his feet, almost grateful of Eva's hand.

"I think I was carrying too many." With this he managed a smile.

Roxy walked into the common room, she barely noticed anyone there. She sat down at the edge of the room, away from the fire, and waited, she didn’t know what she was waiting for, she just sat. Once again she found herself thinking of her family, then of Chris. she had no idea what linked the two, they just seemed to be linked.

"Where did you left the books? I'll help you carry it, now that you're ok, if you want to." Eva sugested. She loved books. I wonder where he left it...Sebastian came here bleeding; wasn´t there anyone to help him?! He should be near Slytherins, she tought. Eva didn´t liked slytherins since her sister was one them.

"Anyone saw you falling?" Eva's real question was if he wanted to go back to the place to bring the books, but he would probably be to embassared or ashamed. She didn´t knew.

"Oh the books..." Sebastian pointed to the far corner of the common room, where he came in as a matter of fact. They were in a bit of a sorry state, a few had dried blood on the corners of them. "I don't know if anyone did, but even I didn't realized I was bleeding until it got really bad." He lifted a hand up and touched one of his scars, he hated the feel of the crusty brownish things.

He flexed his fingers on his left hand they felt slightly tingly so he balled his hand again.

Eva took her wand of the bag and pointed to the books:
"Reparo!" she hoped it had results. It did, the books stayed, not like new books, but better than they were.

"Thanks for the book repair... I was dreading taking them back, goes to show you think of more things than I do."
He smiled, probably the first genuine one since he came into the common room.

Vanessa wandered into the common room, clutching a pile of books in her hands. She had no idea why she had got all these books for. The small brunette found an empty sofa and sat down, depositing the books on the floor. She sighed, pushing a strand of hair out of her face before opening one of the books, fingering the slightly yellow pages.

Jade, having made sure that Sebastian was alright, looked away. After staring emptily at the ceiling for several moments, she blinked and looked for her bag. She found it stuffed under an armchair and took an empty sheet of parchment and a quill out of it. She dragged her chair next to a table and sat heavily on it. She laid her tools in front her and carefully started writing her letter to Tony in her calligraphic handwriting.
She was ready to sign her letter when she ran out of ink. She sighed and dashed to the Girls' Dormitory in order to get a new inkpot from her trunk, leaving the letter on the table.

"Oh, and thanks for listening," Sebastian called out to Jade's back as she left the common room.

He looked down at his feet and then over to Eva,
"I'm going out to the lake, it's dark so I thought it might be fun.. You can join me if you want."
He secretly hoped that she would want to come, so he wouldn't have to be totally alone out there.

Jade rushed out of the Girls' Dormitory with the inkpot in her hand. She went to the table to sign her letter but realized it wasn't where she had left it.
"Where's my letter?" she said panicked. "That piece of parchment I had left on the table, where is it?" she said in a shaky voice. She had written very personal information in that letter to her cousin and the last thing she wanted was somebody else to read it.

Sebastian looked around as Jade rushed into the common room like a whirlwind.

"It's on the floor, don't panic!" He smiled as he picked it up and without looking, handed it over to her.

Jade gratefully took the letter from Sebastian's hand, muttering a word of thanks. She quickly signed it, folded it and put it in an envelope. She hastily stuffed it in her bag and left for the Girls' Dormitory with the bag on her shoulder. At the doorstep, she came to a stand and turned around. "Goodbye," she said in a low voice and disappeared in the Dormitory.

Sebastian almost waved her goodbye as she left the common room.... But instead he just watched her leave.
He turned back to Eva as soon as Jade was gone and said..
"Uh, I'm going down to the lake now, looking for some... Water..." Yeah.. Nice, smooth.
"See you later?" And then he left feeling embarrassed.

"I can go with you. In fact, I'd love to go." Eva corrected herself, with her voice sounding very secure. She loved going to the lake, that was one of her favorite places at Hogwats. And I can be reading near the water, she tought. Reading and water were her two loves. By the lake, she could do both.

"So, shall we go?" she asked Sebastian , walking a few steps foward him.
