Jen smiled. 'Hey, being mature looks good on anyone.' She looked around the room. Everyone looked so beautiful ad handsome.' Thanks, I used to take ballet when I was younger.' She noticed something was bothering him, but she decided not to push it. 'Yeah, well he was a great guy before haha, but apparently he got bored with me and needed more spunk.' She said, rolling her eyes. 'As if, I mean, it's not my fault that I was travelling so much. But whatever.' Jen realised she was babbling too much and blushed. 'Sorry.'

Jayden smiled. "Your fine. Its just good to see you again. I cant believe I could miss someoene so much that I barely know!" he said smiling.

Jen laughed. 'Aww well thanks. I know I missed you too.' She laughed. 'Ughh it sucked being away.' She looked around a bit. 'I hope I'm not keeping you from anyone?' She asked, remembering the girl he had been with.

Jayden smiled. He looked back at Becky and waved. "No shes fine. I told her I havent seen you in a while. Shell have more chances to talk at me then you will." he said smiling "So I got some .. um... bad news." he muttered while dancing.

Jen smiled and closed her eyes. When he muttered the second part, her eyes shot open. 'Bad news? What do you mean?' She asked, her face striken. What could he mean?

"Come on lets go sit down." he said pulling her towards the tables.

'Um.. ok." She said, kind of getting afraid of what he might say. She definitaly had news of her own, but she was willing to share it just yet. Especially since she just got back. She didn't want to worry someone else with her problems, especially when they seemed to have problems of there own.

Josh gave her a smile as he could hear that she was sad. She never did have a real family and he knew thats what she was thinking of. He moved to push a few strands of her hair behind her ear and then held her close." You know im always going to be here. That is if dia doesnt kill me off first. You'll have us both. We dont scare easily." he told her. He took one of her hands and kissed it lightly as he then held it." I promise.Your stuck with me. So enjoy the time im not around." he teased.

Erin dramatically faked a gasp at Ryan's words. "Pffft. Us girls are complicated?" she asked, pretending to sound disbelieving. "Not all girls are THAT complicated, Mister Pillow Thief," she clarified, poking him in the stomach. "I think you just attract complicated girls," Erin added simply.

"Yes, they are very dangerous," Erin agreed, referring to the high heels. "And yes... quite challenging..." she drifted off for a second, a memory coming into her mind where wearing heels turned out to be extremely dangerous... A small laugh escaped Erin's throat.

"Sounds good," the seventh year said eagerly. Talking to fellow housemates sounded much better than slow dancing. "Lead the way," Erin smiled, momentarily forgetting that she'd left her shoes by another table.

"Yeah but I just feel weird about this. I still do want it though."Jake said swaying.

Sophia Black wandered out on the dance floor in a black backless, strapless dress that draped down to the floor. Her black hair was pulled up in a tight bun, and her purple streaks hung around her face. She wore an elegant purple stone necklace that stood out on her pale skin. She began to sway gently and gracely to the music, her green eyes skimming the dance floor.

"Found family is such a blessing. I'm so grateful to have you guys." She smiled, but her mind was preoccupied. She shook her head gently to clear it and then focused on their dance. "So... how does this end of term thing work? It's my first time... what do they do?"

Sophia looked around, still swaying gently. This was getting boring. She was soon going to leave the dance if she didn't get to speak to anyone soon. But she was content to be by herself. Most of the time. It was times like these that she wished she had someone. Even a friend. She sighed and ceased her gentle swaying.

Um well..." he looked at her seeing her thinking about something." you know if you need to say something, i'll always listen." he told her as he then gave her a smile.' What happens is we have like an end of term feast sort of thing and then everyone goes home. They announced that slytherin won the house cup and then we rub it in everyones faces." he joked as he chuckled a little.

She laughed a little. "We did? I mean-- is it official, no last-minute reversals?"

Their better not be. I'll be the one on a rampage." he said as he chuckled thinking of kate and HGW. He would miss everyone. " Emily and I made up this thing called Hippie Gone wild night. Im a little kid when im around her sometimes. Katelyn a second year ravenclaw thinks that hugs solve everything. Sometimes it can, but not everything. She hugs trees and now i think she has moved on to rocks." he shook his head. Crazy. " anyway, obviously she is a bit crazy but she is all about peace. We tease about how some day she is going to go on a rampage and she is a hippie. " he said explaining a piece of his world to her.

Xana laughed. "I'd like to meet her-- I don't know many outside my house, and as a fellow pacifist-- mostly -- I think we might get along." She grinned. "Tell me about your other friends. Who is your best friend, and what are they like?"

Yeah.. but dont get attached to the rainbow colors please. i dont know if i could handle it all the time." he said with a smile. " Um.. my friends. Lets see their is Ems of course. you already know her. Their is Becky aka superwoman- she is a hufflepuff. Then their is katelyn who is the hippie. Then their is Jai- my sunflower. then their is...willow kovac. she is on the ravenclaw team. She is pretty great. She is funny. Then their is kate and Amos. They are both ravenclaws.. and then... Ellie.I know more but i cant seem to think of any. Its all the pressure to mention them." he paused to think," My best friend... describe what a best friend.. means." he asked her.

Good point, Shel without humor was like..Forrests without tree's or something. "Okay..you've got me there." She admitted, poking her tongue out in response.

"I wasn't. I merely said the Grove isn't as colorful during winter," Savannah said, knowing fully well he was only joking. She smiled.

That reminded her abit of her older sister. She always loved the cold, wintery weather and the rain even.

Vannah nodded at his question, quite thankful to get away from the dancing- One, she still wasn't so into it although she did have some fun. And two, it was begining to be awfully crowded- or atleast she thought so. "Yes..How about both?"

She grimaced at the thought of rainbow colours all the time. "I'm more of a jewel tone kind of girl..." she laughed.

She listened to him list his social circle. "Wow-- not a single bloke? Oh, Amos, I guess..." she smirked. "I only know Ems and vaguely Ellie, of all those people. Though I've seen Willow in class..."

She thought about his question. "Best friend-- you know, the peson you turn to first when you have something really wonderful or terrible to share, the person you'd rather hang out with than anyone else, who you trust the most and who you feel most at ease aroud. Just.... your best mate." She shrugged.

Thats good to hear, about the rainbows." he said as he then added," Well their is claudain.. He is a good friend...its complicated though.' he said when she mentioned guys." i've met others like sam , but i havent seen them around enough to get know them better. And then i've met jayden and alex. Like i said i know some, but i havent been around them long enough." he said as he then chuckled a little. how bad was it that he had to ask what a best friend was. " You. My best friend is you." he told her honestly. " I know yours is Dia. " he said knowing without a doubt.

"But that's like saying winter takes colours away, which it doesn't, because it brings white and grey and a horde of shades in between," Shel pointed out, half jokingly as he returned her smile with a quick one of his own.

"You look relieved," he said when Vannah responded to his offer of heading back. With the last step of their dance, he took her hand and kissed it. "That's me being the gentleman," he laughed, leading her away from the dance floor, and back to the tables.

"No problem!" he chuckled as he lead Sana towards the dance floor, he was amused that a fast beat song was playing. He would have slight trouble if it was a slow one. Once in a clear spot he tugged Sana gently by the hand he held to face him and started dancing, "I hope your enjoying the ball so far!".

"Dia is different-- more than a 'best friend' to me, more like a sister, though it's complicated as well... That probably doesn't make sense, but that's how it is." She danced with him, enjoying the music. "But honestly, you're my best friend, too." She hugged him for a moment as they danced, smiling. As the song changed, she spotted Professor Erikson at the teachers' table. "Would you excuse me a moment? I want to continue dancing with you, so don't think you're rid of me yet... But I just need to talk to someone for a moment..."

Sana was beaming as she entered the bright colorful dance floor with him. Surely It would have been her memorable moment. She started to dance with him. She placed her left hand on his soulder and gripped his with another hand.
"Well..not really, I was bored, but now I'm enjoying the ball.." she went on as they swing graciously.
