| | |  Muggle Studies Lesson 1
Professor Light unlocked the door to the classroom she had previously set up the day before. She had to admit, setting up had cheered her up a little bit. But only a little. She still felt really horrible about her office and her posessions, but in typically Iulianna fashion, she had let it settle aside and used every ounce of her optimism to put a small smile on her face for the students entering the room. The room was quite interesting today. Instead of the normal muggle contraptions, small and large cages lined the walls, and squeaks and meows echoed through the room. The noise wasn't very loud though. The desks where arranged in a circle, and there was a little sign hanging above each quarter of the circle, with each of the four house names on it. Professor Light looked at her watch. It was time! She unlocked the door and opened it wide, as she sat down in the chair at her desk. She greeted the students that came in as perky as possible considering her current emotional state, and shouted "Sit under the appropriate section for each house, please!" she said, motioning to the desks and the signs hanging above them. | |

Jen giggled , amused at the way the animal was squirming in an attempt to escape Professor Light's grasp. She raised her hand and answered, "It's a rabbit." When she was younger her neighbor had actually kept two as pets, and Jen remembered their playdates fondly.

This entire class was just fishy to begin with. Professor Light seemed to be in awfully good mood even though so many odd things were happening but it seemed everyone was in an eerie cheery mood to Bucky. Perhaps it was her very own paranoia causing her sleepless nights. Or, perhaps it was just the fact that she missed Rosemary miserably.
The cages simply reminded her even more of her rotten now gone turtle. Glancing sideways at Jen, she wondered what was running through her head. At least they would be taking photos. It had been a while since Celestina had taken a picture of anything, her camera inside her trunk. It wasn't as amusing as it used to when she would go wandering around with subjects, camera hanging from her neck and Rosemary trudging slowly by her side.
"Cute," she muttered as the Professor brought a Rabbit.
Her brothers used to own a brown one before they set it lose in the backyard and never saw it again.

"Haha, yes, it's a rabbit alright. You can tell by the ears. Although not all rabbits hae very long ears, all of their ears are rather pronouced and one of the many distinguishing features." Professor Light put the rabbit back in it's cage for a second as she stood up and move to the board to jot down some info.
"Rabbits are common pretty much anywhere. They are vegetarian animals, so this little rabbit will eat lettuce, carrots, and other sorts of small veggies. All rabbits are different colored, and most are rather friendly, however, if you come across a wild rabbit, it's probably not your best idea to run over to it and give it a hug."

Nik stared at the animal, intent to show that he was not affected by it's fluffyness in any way at all. Sure, the thing was very adorable and looked like it could just fit in the palms of his hands, but that didn't mean he was going to coddle it and make a right ninny of himself in the middle of class.

Professor Light moved back to the cage and brought the rabbit out once more.
"Now, be very gentle, but feel free to get your photos now. No flash... it'll hurt the bunny's eyes. You may hold her, her name is Stalia, and she is very friendly, she just likes to fidget a lot. You may take notes about how it looks, and analyze it to death. Well, not literally to death, of course." Professor Light paused, worried her joke was a little out of a place at the time. She shrugged it off.
"I want to stay out of your way as much as possible, I'll just be here to answer your questions."
ooc: ahhh dinner time for me. I'll leave the thread open, RP away please, but I won't be back for about 30 minutes or so. No chaos please. Pretty please.

Patrick picked up a camera and went over to his fellow Gryffindors near the rabbit to take his pictures. He recognised a few but he only knew one name. He knew Ebony because she was Whende's friend or they knew each other somehow he thought. "Hi. I'm Patrick" he said introducing himself. "Should we start?"

He handed the camera to one of the other Hufflepuff girls (Ashley) and leaned in to check out the rabbit, but still keeping his distance. "Errr...you reckon she's alright? Or is it normal for her nose to twitch that way?" he asked, prodding the rabbit's nose gently with his index finger. | |

Kalaya smiled at the girl who offered to take pictures and watched as the other one handed her the camera. "I'm Kalaya," she introduced herself with a smile. "I'm fine with you taking the pictures," she told her and smiled as the other questioned about the rabbit's nose. "I think it's normal," she offered as she tried to remember the rabbits that would sneak into her backyard and eat the grass. She'd never noticed if their noses had twitched or not, but this one seemed perfectly fine.

Ashley smiled as Kalaya introduced herself. She nodded her head, "I'm Ashley," she said, and couldn't help but giggle lightly as their third housemate prodded the little rabbits nose. "It is perfectly normal for them to do that," she said. "Rabbits noses help them with their sense of direction. It alerts them when something bad might be coming."
She took the camera and set it up to take a photograph of the animal, taking care that the flash was off. She bent down infront of the little creature as its curiosity wanted to know what the camera was. A soft click signaled a picture had been taken, and Ashley returned standing straight up.
"Well that's one picture of the rabits face," she said. | |

Julia stared hard at the rabbit and held back tears, immediately thinking of Bugs Bunny. I miss my cape... She bit her lower lip softly and resisted the urge to chuck carrots around the room at the mention of them. To calm herself down, she took a few deep breaths and shook her head at herself. "Don't do it, Julia," she ordered herself in a whisper.
After gathering herself and her emotions, she looked at the other Ravenclaws. "Okay... who wants to take the pictures? I will if none of you guys want to," she told them in the nicest sounding voice she could work up.

Kalaya smiled at Ashley and was a bit shocked that she knew so much about rabbits. "If you don't mind me asking, are you muggle-born? Or just really interested in muggle animals?" she asked. Even though she'd grown up as a muggle, she didn't know that much about their animals.
"And one of us could always charm the picture to move, like we learned in charms class," she added to Nik's suggestion. She tried not to laugh at the mental image she got of that picture, as it was rather strange looking.
