| | |  Muggle Studies Lesson 1
Professor Light unlocked the door to the classroom she had previously set up the day before. She had to admit, setting up had cheered her up a little bit. But only a little. She still felt really horrible about her office and her posessions, but in typically Iulianna fashion, she had let it settle aside and used every ounce of her optimism to put a small smile on her face for the students entering the room. The room was quite interesting today. Instead of the normal muggle contraptions, small and large cages lined the walls, and squeaks and meows echoed through the room. The noise wasn't very loud though. The desks where arranged in a circle, and there was a little sign hanging above each quarter of the circle, with each of the four house names on it. Professor Light looked at her watch. It was time! She unlocked the door and opened it wide, as she sat down in the chair at her desk. She greeted the students that came in as perky as possible considering her current emotional state, and shouted "Sit under the appropriate section for each house, please!" she said, motioning to the desks and the signs hanging above them. | |

Nick remembered about the Professor's Office. It was in a horrible condition. "I just hope that the person who did that gets caught," Nick thought too himself. Nick got out some paper and took notes.

"Today, what we are going to do is take an up close look at interacting with 5 common Muggle household pets. Typically, they are not unique to a muggle, as many of you have cats and such, but these are pets that a Muggle would know a lot about, and animals you won't see in CoMC."
Professor Light looked around the room to try and see if everyone was sitting in the correct spot.
"This year, we will cover household pets and then common Muggle animals... and a surprise a lesson!" Professor Light laughed slightly, unsure whether the idea of a surprise lesson would really get anymore students to come to class, even so, she brought it up. It was, after all, going to be coming up soon and it would be really fun.

She noticed that the professor seemed distracted when she mentioned her office, and couldn't help but wonder if that had been hit as well. Kalaya smiled as she heard that they were going to be learning a bit about Muggle animals. It was a muggle version of care of magical creatures class, or it seemed it would be. She supressed a laugh when she mentioned the fwooper being someone's favorite pet as that was Jordana's favorite animal.
Listening to the professor she grinned, it seemed that this would be a fun year.

Chiyo nodded, listening intently. She scribbled down some more notes and waited for the Professor to show them at least one of the animals. She loved Muggles, especially since she was Muggle-born, and she thought that she would excel in this particuar class. But nothing she had heard from her friends prepared her for this. This was going to be loads of fun!

Taking down notes, Ali felt that this class was going to be fun. He listened to the Professor talk about CoMC, one of his favourite lessons and smiled. This was definately going to be fun. As she mentioned a surprise lesson, Ali began trying to think of what it could be.

Moving towards the center of the cirlcle, she began again, "Now, most of you might be wondering why I had you guys sit by house. Trust me, I'm all for house inter-collaboration, but for this lesson, it'll make things easier. I'm going to give each house 1 Muggle disposable camera, to take pictures of each animal. You can take up to 5 per animal, as each camera contains 25 pictures. I will get the pictures devolped and drop them off in each of the common rooms so that each house will have a set to use to study with and to share with each other. Of course, you should be taking plenty of notes to remind yourself a specific animal details, but I know that my drawing skills are... well... sub-par, and I don't want that to effect your ability to enjoy this lesson."
Professor Light paused for a moment. She wanted to the students to enjoy all her lessons, but this lesson in particular she did not want to fill with detail. She wanted to students to get to see each of the animals.

"Like I mentioned briefly, I'm not going to go into heavy detail on each animal, more show you how it reacts and let you guys suggest your own ideas about it. I want you to work with your housemates to take some nice photos, and to really interact with each animal. Remember, I'm only showing you one animal of an entire species, so just because one animal is one height and weight, it doesn't nessecarily apply to the rest of them, which is why I'm not too worried about the details."
"Any question before we begin? I hope I'm explaining myself clearly, but I have had a bit of a rough week." Professor Light tried to think if she had covered everything, while glancing around the room for raised hands.

Nik listened to what the Professor was explaining about cameras and details and stuff, but he was now boring holes through the cages, searching for one that might contain Rosemary. Obviously, he had not charmed himself to be able to see through objects, but he imagined that Rosemary was tied up and gagged in one of those cages.
He turned to the other Hufflepuffs sitting near him and smiled uncertainly, hoping that they were better at taking pictures than he was. He always managed to get his thumb or fingers in the way of the lenses.

Ebony sat with the rest of the Gryffindors. She listened to the Professor and quickly copied down some notes. She loved learning about animals. Ebony listen to the Professor as she explained what they would be doing with the deposable camera. She already knew how to use a them since she was muggle born. She didn't have any questions so shes wait for the Professor to begin.

Hermy smiled. She wasn't allowed any pets at home, so it would be great to have the opprtunity to spend some time with them here. As the professor mentioned pictures, Hermy almost laughed. She remembered taking photos of animals at a zoo for an art trip at her muggle school, where there was generally more cage and grass per picture than actual animal to sketch. Bringing her attention back to the class, she listened attentively to the instructions.

Kalaya listened to the professor talk about what they were going to do and glanced around at the other Hufflepuffs. Four of them were there (herself, Becky, Nik, and Ashley), but one of them seemed rather spaced out (becky). She wished Niky was here, since she didn't know the other three that were here. Smiling at them she looked back at the professor, waiting for both an animal and a camera.

"Alright, working the muggle camera is very simple, simply wind the little wheel at the top right hand corner of the camera and press the button at the top to take the picture. Very similar to a wizard camera." she finished breifly. "No questions? Alright, great! Now, the first animal is a rather small household pet." Professor Light moved to a small green cage and brought it to the center of the room. She slowly removed the sheet and then opened the cage door. She picked up the animal inside. It didn't seem very happy about being moved as it wriggled around before settling down comfortably in her hands. She stood up and showed the animal to the class. "Alright, so... can anyone tell me what this cute creature is called?" she smiled at the cute little creature and patted it's head.
