Down on Piñata Lane, you will find all sorts of Hallowe'en and Día de Los Muertos papier-mâché containers. Take your pick from gravestones, skulls, marigolds, tacos, horses, even bats and pumpkins! Any piñata you can imagine is in this area. Just pick up a bat and take a swing -- just be careful not to accidentally smack anyone.
What will come out of these magical piñatas is a total surprise for whomever cracks it open. The piñatas may be holding tacos, faux bats that will screech and fly on your face, toy calaveras that will dance as long as there is music playing, or there could just be sugary delights provided from Honeydukes inside. Just make sure to grab all that you can if something good comes out; those nearby you are sure to swoop in and make their claims.

The evil queen was coming through! No, not really. Kay had not the slightest idea on how to be evil or mean. In any case, evil queens do not usually smile in such a friendly way as she was doing right now. The woman had just decided that she wanted to have a go at a pinata or two.
But which of them would she select. There were so many! Kay did know one thing though... she wanted to hit the spooky looking ones. "Possibly...'' she muttered to herself. "A gravestone.'' She click-clacked on her heels gracefully to collect a bat. She swung it; her aim was to practice her swing first.

Even Viktor Sokolov dressed up for Halloween. Even though its more an excuse to party for him. Dressed up as a charcter in one movie he watched before coming here. He was not sure the makeup was good. But he didnt really care. Still dancing was not his thing when he was alone and well he was not hungry yet. So that left two options. Both were meh but well looks like he will choose the one with someone around his age. Which is harder than you think when you work at a boarding school surrounded by kids.
"Nice Swing Kay but i think the pinata is over there."
Viktor replied grinning.

That first swing felt good. Kay couldn't help but feel a tad proud of herself since it had certainly been a while since she had picked up a bat of any kind. She had loved to play bat and ball games with her dad when she was little. All that practice surely could help her right now.
She raised the bat, poised to make another practice swing but was distracted by his voice. "Who says I'm practicing for the pinatas, Viktor?'' Grinning, Kay turned to face him. She was at once impressed by his make up and costume. "My mistake. Betelgeuse.''
The woman winked. "I just may have been practicing to keep rude and obnoxious ghosts away.'' She playfully swung the bat at her friend, missing him altogether of course.

Catwoman was there or well Natalia was there dressed as catwoman. She wasn't sure she wanted to even attend this, lately she had been feeling like hiding from socializing was best. Rumors and things were always so fun when you were the center of them... not. Not that the rumors weren't true, but they were still annoying. Even though Nat liked being alone right now she still wanted to see what this was about, plus it was Tim's birthday so she had to find her friend.
So looking around and obviously staying away from dancing, Nat found the pinatas. Cautious at first because blindfolds usually were a thing with them. That was a no go if this was one of those times, but it seemed that you could just pick up the bat and have some fun. This seemed like the perfect spot for her right now. "Professors" She gave a quiet nod in greeting of the two there. Her eyes lasting on the Runes professor a little longer before turning to find a pinata alone.
Grabbing a bat she picked a tombstone and started swinging. She wasn't a beater that was for sure, but getting the built up emotions out on the pinata was feeling pretty good so she kept swinging at the thing. Take that Hugo feelings, and Roman feelings, and parent issues, and school stress, and anything else that was built up at the moment.

One of his best ideas of this year completely had been to ask Liv to actually come with him tonight. And he'd picked her up on the walk down to the dungeons to make sure this was really a full date so he could make sure she got the first view of his costume. And that he got the first view of hers. Handing her a bat, Roo grinned. "Get me something good and I'll give you a whirl around the dance floor too." And she knew he would go through with that promise. Rooney was typically true to his word but always with her.
Always with Liv.
He continued to grin and wiggles his lion tail a little. Swish, swish.

Was she trying to be funny because the way she was swinging she would be even be able to hit the pinata. Ah well he did not care what she called him but playing along with what they were wearing was fun at least.
"No no No, it was my mistake, My Queen"
Smirk.
Uh should he tell her ghosts would go right through the bat. Nah best let her figure that one out hopefully really soon. Woah watch were you swing that thing.
"Or Male Professors from the looks of it. Now let me see you destroy a pinata"
Oh a student was here also. Well of course they would this event was technically from them after all.
"Hello Miss Franks-Mundie. You having fun?"

"Hello Miss Franks-Mundie. You having fun?"
Queen. Yes, she was a queen, wasn't she? An evil one too. Though Kay felt far from evil. "I see you've recognised your master... mistress, Beetlejuice.'' She sent a smirk right back. Viktor had quite the talent with make up, did he know? She was impressed though she didn't tell him so. There was no need to swell his already fat head.
"Please. I wouldn't want to stay away from you.'' The woman really did mean that as a joke, however, she did felt that part of was she said was true. "Pssssh. Right, Kay,'' she thought to herself.
Anyway. Pinata. Yes.
And a student. "Hello! Lovely costume!'' It really was Natalie, right? The mask was obscuring her face.
Kay's heels clacked across the floor. She came to a halt before one of the gravestone pinatas. "Pay attention, Viktor. You could learn a thing or two.'' She clutched the bat with both hands and swung with all her might.
THUD!
The bat connected but the pinata didn't break apart. "That's one tough pinata.''

This was getting better and better the more they talked. Viktor was just going to keep on grinning as she went along with all the mistress stuff. He did not care. It was all fun and games for him. He was only kidding about the swing
"I do like the sound of that"
What was she going to teach him. He watch and well it was just what he expected. Not even a dent in the pinata. Well insulting her would only make things worse.
"Good first try. Have another go"
Because if he tried it would break on the first try.

So much for her showing Viktor how it was done on the first try. Was she embarrassed? Not really. What she wanted more than ever was to bust this thing. "Thank you. I'll bet this time I'll get it.'' Kay smirked.
She focused again and swung the bat. With a more loud thud, the bat connected with the pinata. Showers of sweets fell out and onto the ground. "That's how it's done! Your turn, Viktor!'' Don't mind her; she would be here picking up her prizes. Yes, she was sharing as well. "Don't worry, if you're too weak to crack that pinata, I'll be willing to share these sweets with you.''
Their banter was fun. Kay knew Viktor wouldn't take offense to anything she said.

Katy had a rocky history with Miss Natalia Longlastname, but she liked the older girl. She liked how she'd dumped pumpkin juice on the prefect at the Start of Term Feast, and she liked how she said what she thought. It was a very impressive skill that most people at Hogwarts didn't have.
So she was silently cheering on the girl... and then not so silently. "TO THE RIGHT. TO THE... YEAH. KILL IT, NAT. MURDER THAT MURDER STONE."

Ahem. Katy was a ladylike kitten, yes she was.
The professors were talking to her. Not that she didn't want them to, but she was on a mission clearly to destroy something that she wouldn't end up in detention for destroying, though the burning of a book was quite fun. "Professor Sokolov, Professor Stewart.. I hope you are having a good time."
She was about to anyone.
Frustrations coming out on the pinata Nat kept swinging. She swung harder and harder. Why wasn't this stupid thing not breaking. As she was hitting it she heard a voice. A familiar voice cheering her on. Trying not to pay attention at the moment she kept hitting the pinata.
Feeling her arms starting to get tired she stopped and looked back, "Want to give it ago?"

Make-up was done. Food had been eaten. Now it was time for a bit of fun. Which meant this girl had made her way to the Pinata Lane. Really they had out done themselves here as well. The colors and designs for these pinatas were outstanding. Mhmm.
Hadleigh smiled warmly taking notice to the professors first. Even they were having a good time. "Hello Professors," she greeted with a nod of her head. Hady/Sally pretended to momentarily look for Frankie/Jack Skeleton. Okay, she wasn't pretending, she had actually lost him somewhere between here and the food station. Oops.
Her gaze feel on someone else though rather then whom she was looking for and she grinned. If the girl kept up swinging like that she was bound to either destroy that pinata or pull a muscle. Hady slid up beside her band sister (Nat) and bumped her hip against the girls. "Hey babe, practicing for the baseball team?" she laughed playfully. Oh and hello Katy! The younger girl got a smile from Hady as well.

Olivia could hardly with this boy. COULD. HARDLY.
She'd gotten more than an eye full of his costume, of course, and immediately noted the references to SCAR and the Lion King, even if she was choosing to feel personally honored by the lion symbolism. What a thoughtful best friend she had, mhm. Also, it was hard to miss hers. She was covered from head to toe in sequins and shiny, light-catching materials. This might've all seemed like a bit much to others, but Liv had never felt more like herself.
To be honest.
"How tantalizing that offer is..." Columbia had a flirtatious, coy persona and it was her SOLEMN duty to portray that personality to the best of her ability; even being a bit younger. "Perhaps I'll give you a whirl about the dance floor, though." She was the professional here. 10+ years.
With a smile, she allowed the blindfold to be placed over her eyes, gripping the bat all the more harder when it was finally in place. Liv had, of course, taken note of the pinata's position and such, but it hardly mattered after the fact. Not being able to see was disorienting, and she'd quickly forgotten it's placement.
Lifting the bat, Liv swung.

With a smug smile, Rooney gave Liv's hand a squeeze and nodded. "It's not an offer. It's a promise." Confidence was key here. Halloween gave everyone confidence, unless they dressed as a meek mouse or something rather pitiful. "I wouldn't mind you giving me a whirl, though." Ehehe. Especially if they got some of the good food he knew was here. Rooney growled at that point - but whether it was his stomach or on purpose for the sake of his costume...it was a secret.
LION ROAR LION ROAR.
Roo dropped to the floor as Liv raised her bat and waited for something deliiiiicious to come his way. Here was hoping that it was delicious and not a disaster.
So much for her showing Viktor how it was done on the first try. Was she embarrassed? Not really. What she wanted more than ever was to bust this thing. "Thank you. I'll bet this time I'll get it.'' Kay smirked.

As long as he didn't have to actually act completely like a Professor now. It would be a success. Like stop fights and be all authoritative. So far so good. "We are. I hope you have fun tonight as well. This event is for you students anyway and Hello Miss Lynch" .
If she had gotten it open on the first try. Viktor would have had to clap. But now all he can do is watch as she rears up for another swing. Hopefully she would or Viktor would have words. The Ancient Runes Professor crossed his arms and with an amused look watched her break open the pinata.
"Well done and all it took was two tries."
Well Well Well. Someone was overconfident It was fun to see. Viktor shook his head amused and went to get a bat.
"Watch and Learn Kay"
Viktor took his bat and in one giant swing broke open the pinata sending its contents everywhere.
"See"
He had the biggest smirk on his face right now

"I am,'' Kay replied with a grin to Natalie. "I hope you are or will as well!'' This was all too much fun and she thought that the prefects had done a smashing job. Speaking of prefects... "Hello there, Ms Lynch! Excellent costume and make up there. Also a job well done to you and your fellow prefects for pulling this event off.''

Her arms were now loaded with sweets. Of course she would be sharing with her students. Kay was certainly no stingy woman when it involved her precious students. "It would have been better if I had done it on the first try.'' The Professor could often be determined.
"Oh, I'm watching.'' She smirked. So she did and was not one bit surprised when Viktor cracked open that pinata in one go. "Show off,'' she told him teasingly. "Better grab your prizes before I do!''

Rula was pretty pleased with how her costume had turned out, especially her hair. She was actually kind of liking the redhead look, so...maybe she'd try charming it again sometime. Definitely something to consider.
But for now, the thing she really needed to think about was which piñata to go after first. Maybe...a pumpkin one?
Yeah, that would work! Looked like a pretty good sized one too, so surely there were lots of good things inside it.
Picking up a bat and imagining herself as a Beater in a Quidditch game again, she took a swing at it.

Paul, as he entered the Halloween party very late, was attracted to the pumpkin piñata because of all the PUMPKIN excitement from earlier today. He noticed one person, one of his students, was already there, taking a miiiiighty swing at that pumpkin. Paul clapped.
"GREAT SWING," he said, smiling as he, too, grabbed a bat and practically tapped the piñata and...making quite a disappointed face. "I'm not nearly as good as you are," he said, leaning on the bat like he would a cane. "By all means, Rula, swing again--maybe we'll get something EXTRA COOL out of it," he winked. It came into his mind, then, that Miss Rula Botros was Junia's sister. And that was interesting becaaaaaause the smaller Botros was growing on him, and he had never actually taken the time to talk to Rula as much. He supposed he would change that now!

If anyone was looking for a particular Hufflepuff in this event, then they won't be able to find him anywhere. What they would find was the GREAT, BIG fluffy bird instead, loitering about as he enjoyed the festivities and flapping his yellow wings as he did so.

OOOOHHHH. Piñata's! They usually had things like this back in his home country during kid parties.
Big Bird not Owen bounded over and watched as his peers swung. He wanted to take a turn too!

Her arms kind of hurt as she let the bat down for someone else to try. Was Katy going to? She wasn't thrilled she hadn't gotten it broken open though. She handed over the bat and wasn't surprised when both professors said they were having fun. She actually wondered if they visualized anyone's face on them as they swung. Her own brown eyes moving back to the pinata thinking about who she could visualize for it to finally break. One face came to mind and she picked up the bat once more to start.
Right before she swung she felt someone bump into her and talk. "Could be practicing to be a beater. You know see if quiddtich could run in the family." Fully joking she knew that gene did not step into her DNA, because Natalia wasn't anything close to a quidditch player. She was only average on a broom and to balance a broom and a ball or bat, ha, forget it. "Though baseball might be more my speed." She kind of remembered hearing about that muggle sport once or twice.

Maybe Nat was taking it easy on the pinata or something, because she hadn't made even a real dent in it. Or maybe these were magically indestructible pinatas, designed to make everyone cry.
"I'm going to get us all sorts of magic treats, Miss Nat. Just wait and see." She took up a proper stance, a bit like she was wielding a polo mallet, and waited until she heard the creaking of the rope swing past. Once. Twice. She swung HARD and connected with... something.

Hadleigh smiled when both of her professors seemed to know it was her behind all the makeup. Chances were they were able to know by her voice, she had done nothing to change that part of herself. "Thank you professors, we're only glad we were able to pull it all off. It's a nice change of pace for everyone for one night." Sometimes a break was all that was needed to get everyone back on track and ready to work again. Plus it was a holiday and one that allowed lots of candy!
A beater huh? Hady eyed Nat for a split second before laughing. "I don't know... I think singing is more up your alley," she teased right back. Singing was Nat's thing and everyone knew that. At the offer of giving it ago she shook her head. "Not right now. Let Katy have a turn first." There was all night to swing a bat at some pinata's. Watching the younger years having a good time was what she really liked.
Watching the younger snake take the bat and start swinging was funny. At first the swings were complete misses but then...then she hit that pinata hard. "There you go Katy! Just like that!," she cheered her on. Another good solid wack like that one and that pinata should bust open dumping out whatever was held inside. Hopefully for the snakettes it was something good.

They really went full-out with the festivities at Hogwarts, and honestly, it was one of the things Mason had missed the most about the school while she was at Koldovstoretz.
And there were so many piñatas to choose from. Running her fingers over the colourful paper-mâché, Mason made her way down the line, looking for the one that she wanted to destroy, a bat already resting on her shoulder.
