Hello from the other side...

The year is 2101 and a new Term at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry has begun. The school: now returned to its former glory after all the cobwebs and dust removed and all the Portraits with their occupancies back to where they safely belonged (permanently) was once again ready to accept students and staff alike. Our leader Professor Trent, along with our returning teachers and a new Care of Magical Creatures face Professor Williamson could only hope for a normal and quiet year at Hogwarts. But has there truly ever been such a thing for this school?

As the year began Professor Schmoe had students participating in ‘jazzercise’ and ‘aerobics’ out by the Great Lake. It was right then, that there were the first signs that something was amiss. The sky flashed several different colors in what appeared to be an awesome light show display put on by Professor Schmoe himself, but it was soon discovered that this was NOT the case. Those who attended a Slytherin/Gryffindor party at the Whomping Willow may have also noticed the skies. After this, the sky continued to change to colors, and it was no longer just flashes, but remained ominous. Not to mention the large flock of crows that soared through the sky. It was raining birds more than anything else.

The bizarre weather would soon attract the attention of one reporter and weatherman by the name of Sunny Raine, who was not exactly an invited guest at Hogwarts. But one reporter snooping for the story of a lifetime, was the least of Hogwart's worries. Before long, what can only be described as magical glitches, were happening all over Hogwarts. It started as magic power surges and then an almost complete loss of magic in classrooms. The staff could make neither heads nor tails of this.

And then one day, as though a switch had been flipped, the castle was obviously different. Upon entering the Great Hall there appeared to be several, not quite ghosts, but holograms perhaps? They did not appear to be sinister, they paid no mind to the students at all, in fact, if they tried to touch them, you would just end up going through them. If only they stayed ghost like, but it was not long before they began to solidify, and Hogwarts begins to change still further. Decorations and furniture took on the look from another century, and the outside grounds began to disappear altogether. What is left or sent outside did not return, which meant that Sunny Raine though originally uninvited was now a long-term guest of the school. Hogwarts was a magical dead zone. But interestingly the Hogwarts ghosts had been able to interact with the figures … what could this possibly mean?

As the year went forward students were stuck at Hogwarts for the Holidays and there were no owls coming or going, Hogwarts had been cut off from the outside world. And it was not just objects that were fading. The Professors and students noticed that they themselves started to fade. Memory loss was becoming a huge problem, students could not remember what class they had next or if they had done their homework. Teachers reaching out for chalk would find they were unable to grasp it. Something needed to be done, and the underground chamber seemed to be the best place to start. Sunny Raine taking it upon himself to head the front and with the help of some students such as Isla Bellchant and Bernadette Grantham, attempted a spell with no success.

It was at that point; a voice was heard calling out…. Someone who was searching for us or were we searching for them? Near a stack of barrels sixth year Cole Vance and third year Claudine Blaze were left wondering what to do with this disembodied voice, while Professor Kitridge our Divination professor came to the rescue in the attempt to help with communication. She called the students to the Spirt room to performed a séance. Fiona Jenovick, Heathcliff Jones, and many others answered the call, where connection was finally made with Crystal Divine a divination professor form nearly 200 years ago who pointed them in the right direction.

After their encounter with Professor Divine it became clear that the past and present were fluid around Hogwarts, uncertainty rained down from every corner. After some extensive research and a piece of parchment that was found in the tower, which indicated the appropriate spell that was needed. The adventure continued on the seventh floor where Sunny Raine, Phoebe James, Avalon Sinclair, the Headmaster and several other students and professors casted the right spell (Tempore Tempestatis Fixus) in unison to make the magic as strong as they could. With not a second to spare and by a miracle the rumbling around Hogwarts and the feeling of sinking had stopped. Thank Merlin the spell had worked! And the school and all its inhabitants had returned to the present day.

With magic able working again, and communication with the outside world restored, there was an influx of owls from concerned parents to attend to, but thankfully Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry appeared to have survived yet another eventful term. Leaving the question once again, will there ever be a quiet year at Hogwarts?
