Term Two: Train Crash
Daily Prophet Article

The Hogwarts Express left promptly at 11 o'clock on September 1st. It was full of bustling new first years as well as several older pupils, eager about returning back to school. Everyone found themselves a compartment to sit in, and before long the Express was on its way. The children played Gobstones, traded chocolate frog cards and basically just enjoyed each others’ company. It was going to be a good year, they knew it.

The train chucked on forwards, till suddenly it started snowing. Snowing? In September? How could that be? Students pushed their way to the windows, all trying to catch a glimpse at the unnatural sight. But before they could even say a thing, the train gave a mighty lurch, causing luggage, owl cages as well as children to topple down to the floor. The carriages began to bounce up and down terribly. The train - it was going to crash!

Luckily though, the Hogwarts Express drove into a snow bank, making it finally stop. All was silent, except for the occasional hooting of distressed owls and mewing of terrified cats. Then came the abysmal jabber. What had happened? Why? These were the questions that escaped from nearly everyone's' tongues. It just couldn't be true - they were on the Hogwarts Express, and the Hogwarts Express didn't just drive off track for nothing. It had begun snowing even more heavily and people were starting to get a bit cold. Then someone got an idea - if they could just follow the train tracks, perhaps they could find shelter or perhaps contact the school somehow.

So they set off. A long line of black-clad shivering students, dragging their bags along behind them. It began to steadily grow darker, and the snow just didn't seem to settle. Suddenly there was a blinding flash above them which illuminated the whole dim scenery: a bright neon green skull with a snake protruding from its mouth. Everyone knew what that sign meant. There was no mistaking it: the Dark Mark. Shocked silence; horrid screaming. Everyone began to run, some trying to keep together with their friends, others just zooming off like headless chickens.

But then, amidst the yelling and shouting, came a new sound. It was like barking. A cloud shifted from in front of the full moon, making the new snow glitter in the faint light. Besides the moon, only a few stars were sprinkled across the dark velvety sky, but the glimmer was still enough to make it quite clear what was making the new noise. Wolves. Or, to be more precise, werewolves. They ran down a hill, five or six of them, and they made a beeline for the astounded children. Before they could react, the monsters were upon them, but they didn't stay. They merely ran through the crowds, scratching a couple but not attacking. In only a few minutes they had disappeared into the woods. Strange...

The situation was becoming even more troubled. The wanderers were hungry, having only eaten some chocolate frogs and pumpkin juice on the train, cold and frightened. Night had already fallen. The snowing had stopped, but only momentarily. Some decided to grab their broomsticks and head for help, hoping to reach a town or perhaps even Hogwarts.

After a couple of hours' trotting, the weary group saw a hut in the horizon. This new sight fed their spirits and they began making towards it, bustling with newfound excitement. Perhaps there would be someone who could help them there! Or, if not, at least they could get warm. The house began to grow, until they were right beside it. It appeared to be an old abandoned train station, with only one large rectangular wooden house with a tall lopsided roof. The station name sign was worn and smudged so it was impossible to read it.

Someone opened the lock with a simple Alohomora and everyone piled in. Soon magical fires had popped up everywhere. In one room, Christhiane, Moaning Myrtle and Keredwel were getting warm with a professor who had been on the train as well, GoldenLugia. But Lugia was not feeling well: he had hurt his leg somehow, and the pain was excruciating. The first years were doing all they could to help him, but he just wouldn't get better. They watched as his profile faded and he grew quieter and quieter. Finally, he died.

There was nothing more to do but wait. The fires gave off a little heat, but abruptly the room grew cold again and the fire was extinguished. The light dimmed, and a dark, menacing creature stepped into the doorway. He was clothed in black rags that waved and twisted unnaturally even though there was no wind inside. His face was hidden, and when he drew in a long rasping breath not only the room froze, but the students' insides as well. It was a dementor.

None of them could conjure a true Patronus, but their many feeble silvery mists combined were enough to drive off the creature. After that was settled, the students began to lie down in hopes of sleep after their action-packed day. They hoped no more troubles were going to bother them tonight, and with dreams of tomorrow they drifted asleep.

Dawn came bright and crisp. The snow began to melt at the touches of the very first rays, and when everyone had woken up most of it was gone, leaving only muddy puddles on the ground. Hungry and thirsty but awake, the Hogwarts students set off again. In daylight, they could already see the mountains surrounding the school far off. They began their journey again, and by noon had reached Hogwarts.

Term Summary

The Book of Mysteria contains powerful spells, some of which can make anyone immortal, extremely powerful, wreak havoc on the world, and other powerful, and also deadly spells. It is moved from one place to another every year, to prevent the Dark Arts from getting it. It was Hogwarts turn this year and the staff members decided to hide it in a well-protected secret room, behind a tapestry.

GoldenLugia, one of the teachers, was able to access the book. Voldemortist kidnapped GoldenLugia, and tried to make him tell Voldemortist everything he knew about the book. Voldemortist ended up killing GoldenLugia, and replaced GoldenLugia with a Polyjuice Potion GoldenLugia. He crashed the Hogwarts Express, so it looked like GoldenLugia’s death was an accident.

The talk of the school is the mean Transfigurations teacher, Professor Henbou. She acts in strange ways, cursing people and even setting some students' heads on fire. Everyone suspects she is up to something. Dreadful news arrives: a teacher, ~Fleur~, has been kidnapped. And a student, Dragonheart, is killed when she discovers information which she should not have found. Slytherin students begin receiving threatening notes from an anonymous author, most likely the murder and Dragonheart comes back as a poltergeist.

The school receives hints that someone is using the Polyjuice Potion to disguise themselves as a regular teacher while really being a Death Eater. Henbou is suspected to be the one because of her weird doings. Henbou jumps out of a window and she lands in the hospital wing. She is replaced by a just as mean new teacher, Professor Sairento. Heads now turn in Sairento's way, suspecting him.

The end of year ball arrives. Everyone is off enjoying themselves, when suddenly Dumbledore's hair starts turning darker and his beard begins to disappear. He quickly digs out a phial of Polyjuice Potion, but Scot_girl notices it and Accio's it to her. The fake Dumbledore turns out to be the Death Eater in disguise. Dragonheart bursts into the hall, and as she notices the once-Dumbledore-now-Death Eater, she recognizes him as her killer.

VOLDEMORTIST MAKES AN APPEARANCE! DUNDUNDUNDUUUN! Suddenly ~Fleur~ bursts into the hall, pointing out Voldemortist to everyone. Heads turn in his direction, and Voldemortist kills ~Fleur~. He then turns his wand on Henbou to kill her, but Madame Shekespere jumps in the way. The curse grazes her arm, but does not kill her. In all the confusion, Professors Henbou and Sairento turn out to be her Auror-parents.

Meanwhile, the Death Eater is still trying to make a sly exit. The professors notice that though. They begin cursing him and demanding to know where the real Dumbledore is (he is in the Forbidden Forest). They drive him out to the balcony. The Death Eater jumps, shouting "VOLDEMORT LIVES" before his ascent to death.

In the Great Hall, Scot_girl attempts to stun Voldemortist. She doesn't succeed, and Voldemortist tries to kill her, but McGonagall throws her out of the way. All the remaining teachers then focus their wands on the Dark Lord, casting different spells on him. He falls to the ground, defeated and weak, but escapes before they can catch him. He exits and vows for revenge.
