This is to be kept up to date by Slytherin Student Leaders (Prefects, Head Girl/Boy) every week with homework that can be done, classes that are still in session, and general info about the school.

Greetings my fellow Slytherins! I am Ethan, your male prefect, and I welcome you to a brand new term in Hogwarts! As most of you know, those who are sorted into this House have the gift to do great things, and are determined, ambitious, and clever. Being a Slytherin, everyone in this House is expected to do their best and bring honour to our name. How do you bring this honour, you ask? Simply, by showing the other houses that we are the best. To help bring our House to the top, participating in lessons, engaging in school activities, and doing homework are the things you must do to accomplish this year-long task.
Below is your guide to where and how to owl your homework, which lessons are on-going and finished, the school activities you are recommended to join in, and much more. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask me, my co-prefect Miss Beverly Wayne, or our Head of House, Healer Cecelia Tillstorm-Murdoch.
I’ll see you around school, fellow Snakes!
Have fun, and keep yourselves out of trouble.
**Dates are OOC**
Please be ON TIME, and be mindful of the professors’ own rules in their respective class. And for the record, don’t forget to shower. Take a bath. Please? Thank you.
Believe me when I say that they've done their homework over the summer by memorizing our names before this term even started. Don't be surprised if they know your full name, whether you are a First Year, a Transfer, or a returning student. I think it's just polite to know their names too before attending their lessons. Merlin knows when you'll bump into them outside of the classroom too. Slytherins are a classy bunch, so think proper etiquette, fellow Snakes. It'll go a long way.
Please familiarize yourselves on how to submit your homework. Some professors prefer turning our homework via owl (PM or E-mail), or by questionnaires. Please pay attention to these details. Deviation from certain rules will cause deduction of points. We don’t want that to happen, do we? Good.
Upon enrolment in Hogwarts, each one of us are assigned a Member / User ID Number. Apart from your Name, Year & House, professors will need your School Identification Number so that they can fully give credit to your homework. Credit means points, and points meant getting close to snagging the House Cup. We all want our hard work to be credited. Who doesn’t, yeah? SO! How or WHERE can you see / access this magical number? Let me show you.
Text Cut: Member ID | User ID
1. First off, look for this bar on top of the page, and click your Username. In my case, I’m going to click ‘Mordred’.
2. Upon clicking it, you’ll see your profile, now, on your address bar, you’ll see a NUMBER right next to your username. So for me, it’s 141930. That number is MY UserID.
WE ARE AT WAR!
Well, not a war, really…
Nevertheless, my fellow Snakes, the fight for the top spot is on! Last term, our House was short by 87 points against the Gryffindors, and although the house points race proved to be one of the most exciting witnessed in years, we all secretly yearned to win and secure the top spot. Who doesn’t, right? I have to admit though, we put up a good fight last term. But we were only going easy on the competition. This time, we will show ALL the OTHER houses the true power of Slytherin and emerge victorious. The game is afoot!
But before you all head out of the Slytherin Common Room, let me give you some pieces of advice on how to get EXTRA points. First off, did you know that aside from attending classes and doing homework, you can also get credit by practicing at the Dueling Arena? As a Transfer last term, I didn’t know about this until it was a bit too late. And so, everyone is very encouraged to participate. Just remember to READ the RULES FIRST! Rules are important, so keep that in mind. We wouldn’t want to lose just because we were not diligent enough to do so, yes? And if you need a little bit of strategy, come forth and I’ll share some tactics with you.
Secondly, remember your manners. Yes, that’s right, M-A-N-N-E-R-S. Slytherins are known to be sophisticated (in so many ways), but being respectful to your fellow housemates, schoolmates (even if we are “at war” with them), professors, staff, elves, and school property…it sure will go a long way. As an incentive, keep in mind that doing so may nab you extra house points, and every single point counts.
Finally, let me introduce you to your confidant: the NOTICEBOARD. We have our own right here, where professors, staff, and students get to post lesson & homework notices (or posts on items in the lost and found), for everyone to see. Be sure to ALWAYS check it out. Be in the know! We also have the Slytherin Scroll, where Prefect Wayne and I compile everything that goes in the noticeboard for easier reference. Nothing beats organized information!
Now that you know what to look out for, and what to do, let’s work TOGETHER to get as much house points for Slytherin as possible. Remember to have FUN while doing it, okay?
And stay out of trouble! We’ll be watching.
