| | Ravenclaw Study Tables {Banner by sweetpinkpixie} Set up around the Homework and Announcements board are a small group of dark-wooden tables with matching chairs creating a designated place for the serious homework doer. Although students are more than welcome to work on essays and spell-work on the couches by the fireplace or in their dormitories, this is a place where you can work in the Common Room and can ask your fellow sharp-witted Ravenclaws for help or gaze out the large windows for a spark of inspiration.
The tables are in better shape than last term with all the legs being repaired but the supply of ink wells and quills are still obviously used and a little worn.
Good luck with your studies or have fun playing a game or two with your housemates. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Louise Fellen Third Year | For Adrienne Jupiter's Satellite Having a moment to herself, Tora decided to get comfortable at one of the handy study tables and pull our Up, Up and Away which she still needed to finish. She hoped that sitting at a study table would be a clue for no one to bother her, and that her nose in the book should be another (more obvious) clue. She did not want to be interrupted. Especially since she was at such a good part!

Especially since she was at such a good part! Adrienne came hurtling into the Common Room, spotted Tora, and within a second had pulled up a chair and was sitting directly next to her, catching her breath. It took a minute, but when she finally had enough air to form coherent sentences, she looked right into Tora's eyes. "There is a door on the second floor that I can't get into and I need help. Are you any good at Arithmancy?" When there was no immediate response, she snatched the book from her friend, glanced at the page number (136) and slammed it shut. "I asked you a question!"

Of course the one person who completely ignored all the clues that Tora wanted to be left in peace to read was Adrienne. The one person Tora actually didn't want to be angry with. Even so, snatching her book like that was really very rude, and Tora gave a small shout and glared at her friend. "That would be my book, thank you very much." she said through gritted teeth. "Now if you would give it back and stop going on about some door-" she never finished what she was going to say because it suddenly hit her that there was a door that could not be opened. Who wouldn't stop whatever they were doing and go try to get through an un-openable door? "Alright, alright. Lets go..." she said trying to hide her curiosity with a begrudging tone of voice and nearly pulling it off too. "But you had better saved my page. I was at a good part." she said sincirely. It was annoying to lose momentum especially at such a pivitol point in the novel, but if curiosity called... Tora was the first to answer.

It was annoying to lose momentum especially at such a pivitol point in the novel, but if curiosity called... Tora was the first to answer. Yessss, Tora was going to come with her with minimal fuss. Honestly, Adrienne had never particularly liked Arithmancy, so if they were locked out of that class forever and couldn't take it, she would only be a little disappointed. What got her was the fact that... well, you couldn't open the door. And there had to be a good reason for that, therefore, Professor French was trying to hide something from the students. She'd thought it was kind of shifty, before, him not showing up for the feast, but now... Well. He certainly wasn't as innocent as the other teachers, that was for sure. "Yeah, yeah, whatever," Adrienne said, handing the book back to her. She would have preferred to toss it carelessly in Tora's general direction, but doing so with a multi-hundred page hardback book was probably a bad idea that would end in injury. Yes, she knew from experience. "It's where the Arithmancy classroom should be, by the way." Except instead of an inviting-looking open door, there was a shut and locked one with a confusing note tacked to it. OOC: Please respond to this in the 7th floor corridor!

| post #3 Charms stopping Assistant Marauder | 1/2 of BenSky | Hit Wiz! | Mischief Managed Nerida headed for the study tables, with her ball. She should just give it a bit of practice right? Reaching the tables she set her ball down while she pulled out her wand. After plucking out her wand she threw the ball into the air focused on it stopping did the wand movement and said "Arresto Momentum!"
She smiled as she saw the ball stop, third try and she had done amazing! Glad to see that the little water balloon thing in charms class was a total accident and was not meant to happen....

Hogwarts RPG Name: Louise Fellen Third Year | Charms Homework #2: Post 2 Jupiter's Satellite Tora sat at a study table glaring at the textbook in front of her. It was a History of Magic textbook but, though that was a very good reason in itself to glare, she wasn't studying History. Instead she was trying to practice the Carpe Retractum spell for Charms homework. She had moved to the study tables because the had noticed that there seemed to be a social partayy going on with the students from out of town (i.e. the people there for the competition) and she had left before any of them could bother her.
This time she would make the charm work. She knew it. She closed her eyes and concentrated. "Carpe Retractum!" she said clearly. A thin whisp of purple light flowed from her wand and formed into the more solid looking shape of a rope. It wrapped around the textbook sitting in front of her and.... barely moved the book.
Concentrating harder, Tora thought Move! which apparently worked because the purple light rope got stronger and actually picked up the textbook! Yes! Score! She grinned as the book was reeled in towards her and she released the spell. Good work.
Noise brought her attention back to the center of the room where the Ravenclaws were still talking. Maybe she should head to the dorm to see if she could get some peace and quiet there...
