Hart was lucky to keep all his fingers once Mangig retrieved the treat, and shoved his hands back onto his pockets to make sure he stayed a lucky man. Moving over to the center of the owlery, he turned on the spot, narrowly missing a pile of poo on the floor.

"Gather close, the owls can be a bit noisey when they see new people." And curious. He eyed them all, the biters in particular before turning his attention back to the kids and waiting for them to come closer.

As Belle entered the owlery, Belle was cautious. There seemed to be A LOT of owls in this place. Then she looked at the ground. It was covered in owl droppings and feathers. Belle narrowly missed a pile of poo on the floor. She noticed Hart was standing there waiting for the rest of us. Belle stood in her place waiting to hear instructions. Belle crinkled her nose at the smell of this place. It was quite stinky in here....

Ethan followed Mr. Hart and Belle back to the owlery, still somewhat amused at how hyper the little bird had been. "Feisty little guy, isn't he?" he said with a chuckle to Belle as he stopped beside her.

He glanced over at the boss-man at his words, then up at all the owls. There were a lot here.. but he expected that. There was a lot of mail to be delivered. But hopefully they weren't all quite as energetic as Mangig. One hyper little bird was cute.. but a bunch of them would be a little much. Surely some of them were laid-back? The boy then followed Belle's gaze to the floor. He had a pretty good idea of what their next task might be..

Belle nodded to Ethan and chuckled with him. "Yeah he is. A little too feisty i hastened to add." Belle then saw Ethan looking at what she was looking at. She had the feeling they were both thinking the same thing. She hoped she did not have to pick up the poop. That would not be pleasant. But sometimes it had to be done. Belle smiled to Ethan, "You thinking what I'm thinking?"

"This is where we house all of the owls. If they're not off sending a package or letter, they're here resting." Pooping, eating, etc. He waved his hand around and mentally dismissed the last few items on the list. Important, but went without saying since many of them were doing all of them.

He took out his wand and gave it a flick, cleaning up a spot of the floor, then gave it another flick. "What I need you lot to do is clean up the floors - as you can see this many owls shed a good number or feathers, and poop frequently - and they could do for a feeding." A bucket of soapy water appeared with two mops, as well as containers of froze mice. The owls perked up at this but Quincy just ignored them. "There's the mops and the food. Try not to ruffle any feathers, or you'll lose a finger." Truth. "And it might be easier to feed first..." But he was giving them everything so that he wouldn't have to be bothered for the next hour or so.

"Have fun kids. If you need anything, just..." He eyed them. Where any of them old enough to do magic outside of the school. Probably not. "Just come find us." He waggled his fingers at them, then ambled out whistling a soft tune.

OOC: Your tasks are to feed the owls the frozen mice, and then mop up the floors. There are about 100 owls and only three containers, but no worries they have extension charms on them. The owls are coming soon, so please don't play for them. And have fun!

Waful had been sitting silently, just staaaring at the new people, his yellow eyes narrow. Huh? What was on? As long as they didn't interrupt his rigorous process of preening, they were welcome. Sure he had been less busier than usual. But still, his feathers were important to be neat. And most beautiful too..

The snowy owl just hooted softly, dropping a feather down. Clean that kids!

Nuria heard voices enter the owlery and silently wished they would go away. She was trying to nap after all. She was also a bit curious though because a couple voices were unfamiliar, so she opened one eye to look at the smaller humans. That was when she also noticed the food over there by them. Hm. Were they going to feed her? Good. She was rather hungry now that she was awake.

But she was not going to go over to them and beg for food. They would come to her.

Belle saw the buckets and the mops. She was not fond of cleaning up the poop and feathers. Then once she was told she was going to have to feed the mice first, Belle was relieved. Belle went to the frozen mice bucket and starting to pick some mice out to carry. This was not gross compared to what she had to deal with back on the farm. She was gladly take this job.

Belle nodded at what the boss wanted them to do. It seemed like an easy task. Then again it will be easy if the animals cooperated.

Belle then noticed a Snowy Owl. It looked so beautiful. Belle was in awe. Then she realized that the owl dropped a feather. She was going to have to clean that up later. Belle then cautiously put a mice near the owl seeing what it would do.

Belle then noticed a Grey Owl after seeing the snowy owl. Belle was curious to meet it. She proceeded slowly and held the mice in her hand. Belle smiled and said, "Hi!" in her sweet voice. "I have some food if you want it." she said holding it up and seeing how it would respond.

Ethan glanced at the filthy floor as Mr. Hart magically cleaned a spot of it. Yep, he had been expecting that that would be their job and he figured they wouldn't be allowed to use magic.. at least he wasn't being a few months shy of his birthday, but was Belle Of Age? He didn't give much thought to it as he listened as Mr. Hart continued. Mop the floor, feed the owls..

The boy glanced up at what seemed like a hundred eyes all trained on him. That was slightly daunting. And then he turned as the mops and food appeared. Ok.. feed them first.. that made sense. That way the birds would be occupied enough to let them clean up.

"Ok.. thanks, Mr. Hart," he said as the boss-man headed out the room. The boy then watched as Belle tried feeding a couple of the owls, figuring he should help her out. "Do you want to work together?" he asked. "Both of us feed, then both of us clean.. or do you want to do one task while I do the other?" The boy picked up a frozen mouse by the tail and held it dangling in front of him while he neared one of the owls. "Hungry? I have just what you're looking for.." He could feed one while she decided..

When Belle was feeding the owls, Belle heard Ethan ask a question. "Oh um sure! That would make things go by faster if we both feed the owls. I think they are over 100 owls here...." she said turning her head and scanning the owls. Then we can clean the area once we are done." Belle nodded to Ethan. She noticed he was already feeding the owl and she smiled.

Immediately Asilin was overwhelmed with the smell she had been smelling earlier, she gave a small sneeze for it made her nostrils itch. In a few days time, she would be used to the smell and would not be distracted from the beautiful birds.

This was very cool too see, behind the scenes of where wizarding mail was sent and received from far and wide. She wondered if the owl post office ever dealt with large shipments or dangerous goods. Mail she sent from Hogwarts may have passed through these very owls deliveries.

Furmy was attempting to nap when he heard someone enter the room. Was it time to eat? Or did he have something to deliver? He opened one eye to see what was going on and there was a girl person he did not know there. A visitor? He opened his other eye then as well, curious.

An owl was looking at her.
Could this be the owl she offered a dead mouse to while petting it's golden feathers? Yes. Before the others got to the owlery, Asilin buzzed excitedly over to where the owl was perched.
She quickly held out a mouse and reached over and petted the owl. "I wonder if this is one of the biting owls Vashti was telling us about" she said.

To the owlery.

With her smile remaining on her face Adelina followed the other intern towards the owlery. She was eager to see more birds and watch their behavior patterns with deep curiosity. Her eagerness was fed and that was when she took her first step inside the owlery.

The smell was what hit her first. It was not entirely pleasant but of course she had expected this and knew it was a part of nature. The cloves were the owls stayed looked rather ancient and Lina actually liked that, sometimes the older methods worked better than the new ones.

"Beautiful are they not?" she turned to ask the other intern that was already interacting with one. "It is possible, I would near them with great care." All animals needed to be treated respectfully, if not of course they had every right to be vicious.

She had a whole container filled with mice she was not pleased to look at. It was the way of life she had to remind herself. With her free hand, Lina took a mouse carefully outside the container and neared the ancient wall at the back.

Asilin heard a voice and looked up, the other intern had come in. She nodded her head, "Uhmm" the owls were beautiful creatures. "Well I am treating the owl with great care" Asilin replied. She was in fact being very gentle towards the bird; but if for any means it felt the need to defend it's self it would. This could be something that happened a lot in the owlery.

With so much to do during her internship, it was hard for Asilin to find time to get to know people. She had not found a chance to meet the other intern yet "I do not believe we have met, I'm Asilin. What school do you go to?" . She did not recognise the other girl from Hogwarts; but she could be from another house. Asilin squinted her eyes while trying to recall if she may have seen the girl in Hufflpuff robes; but decided it was only her imagination.

This girl person had food! And petted him. Furmy decided he liked this one. "Hoo." We like you, girl person.

And then he took the offered mouse and nommed it. Mmm. Delicious. Yes.

The owls did not want mice then? Adelina extended her hand out some more. The longer she held the dead mouse the more sorry she felt for it. Mother nature. She reminded herself and then looked at the other intern.

Good. Gentle care was important. "I see so." She smiled warmly. "You should not fear if you are gentle. It all about not frightening them." Once they were frightened their instincts kicked in. Humans were often like that too.

Ahh. How had Lina forgotten to be kind with an introduction. Yet of course a name didn't mean everything, not to Lina anyways. It was who the person was inside...and what button represented them. Thinking of which..buttons many were in the forefront of her mind. Particularly one she sensed belonged to the new intern. She pushed it away though and kept the button thinking for later. "It is lovely to meet you, I am Adelina but do call me Lina." Warm, warm smile. "I go to Durmstrang, it is upper North. Much colder." Which Lina did not particularly like. "You are from here?" she asked.

Durmstrang had always frightened Asilin, when she was small she had been perplexed by the cold north; but now she understood that it is not that much different from here. Although, Asilin still didn't like the cold.
"Yes, I am from Britain, I am going to Hogwarts. It's my last year" she said, taking another mouse and offering it to the owl. After watching Lina feed the owl, Asilin then withdrew her hand. "I guess we should save some of these mice for the other owls", she said. She wondered what this owl's name was, so she could give it a nickname.

Still thinking of the owl that she received from Quincy, Hannah was a bit surprised that she had applied for an internship and actually got it. It was not something that she would normally do, but things were changing and she really hoped that this job would keep her mind busy. She did not want to think about... things.

Hannah walked into the owlery and the smell immediately wafted into her nostrils and her face wrinkled in protest. Of course it would have a smell to it. Why didn't she think of that? Maybe she would get used to this? She seriously doubted it, but even the smell of poop was better than sitting at home thinking about the terrible, awful thing that happened.

She made her way to the front and waited for somebody to appear. She was early, but she believed that it was best to be that way. Hannah couldn't help but wonder what the people she would be working with were like. She was going to try very hard to keep her attitude in check.

When he received the owl, Sébastien was exited and glad that he was accepted into the internship. He considered not being admitted into the problem seeing that he was a foreigner but he was. The recommendation letter must have had something to do with it as well as the fact that he had spent the past months here in England and namely in Hogwarts castle.

Upon getting dressed casually yet fashionably, he headed to Diagon Alley and to the Owl Post where he was told to go. Three minutes before eight the French young man was present at the owlery. He walked slowly and confidently looking around him and taking in the owls and everything that surrounded him. His nose detected the smell but he wasn't that irritated by it. He could cope.

He saw a girl around his age standing near and he wondered if she was an intern too. He'd like to have company and expected that he wouldn't be the only one who applied to intern here. "'ello," he greeted her with a one-sided small smile as he approached her. Even if she was not an intern it'd not be bad to meet girls people.

Standing there lost in her own thoughts she heard a voice. Hannah immediately noticed the accent and she turned her head into the direction of the voice. Her thoughts immediately went to last term at Hogwarts and thought about all of the trouble those students that came from different schools caused. Of course she couldn't know for sure if he had been apart of it so she would give him the benefit of the doubt.

Trying her best to start a new chapter in her life, she extended her hand to the boy. "Hello, I'm Hannah Lockwood." He seemed younger so he had to be an intern. She should most likely play nice in case they had to clean up poop or something... maybe she could get out of it. "I take it you are an intern here as well?"

"Yes, Miss Lockwood. You are both my interns for this summer." Quincy strolled into the owlery at promptly the time he'd written for his interns to arrive. They were early which was good on his part, meant he didn't have a lazy bunch this go around. Clasping his hands in front of him, he looked between the pair decisively. "I'm the manager of the owl post office, later you'll be meeting the assistant manager, but until then, lets get to work shall we?" He motioned for them to follow him to the supply closet.

He swung the door open, holding it for them to glance inside. "You're going to start with organizing this closet. It's gotten cluttered over the past couple of weeks, and needs tending too. I've left a list of where everything goes, as well as rags to wipe down the shelving before reorganizing. If you need any assistance, my office is not far. Try to keep the owls out of here." He glanced over at the birds flying high above their heads before looking back at the kids and motioning them inside the closet.

OOC: Have fun with this assignment guys, get to know each other and get creative with the cleaning/organizing. It'll be a few days before we come get you for another task.

There was another male voice, and this one said that they were his interns so he must be the boss man. Forgetting the guy that still had not shook her hand, she turned her attention to the man who was now talking. Hannah couldn't help but to feel like she was being sized up. She chewed on her bottom lip as she waited for her boss to finish talking.

Well, this one was planning on getting right down to business. It looked as if there would be no funny business here. No time to shake hands or anything. "Yes sir." was all she could manage before the man motioned them to follow him. Hannah didn't actually want to work, but she was sure that would not go over well with anybody here. She walked over to the closet and peaked inside. Merlin, they were going to have their work cut out for them. It seemed easy enough even if it was tedious. She had to fight back to urge to ask him why he didn't just wave his wand and clean it himself.

"Sounds easy enough sir. I will get to it then." Hannah hoped that the guy she was assigned to would come in handy. She did not want to do all of the work herself.

He did not get to answer the girl as the man approached them and started talking answering the question in the process. So they were both interning here together. He listened intently and was glad to have understood everything said. Did the man talk slowly to his benefit? Either way it was appreciated.

So they had to organize the closet first. Didn't sound too exciting but perhaps it was a warm up. He didn't mind it anyway. The french young man nodded and stepped closer to the closet. Time to work.
