| | Muggle Studies Lesson One: Call Me Maybe As you walk into the Muggle Studies classroom, you’ll see not much has changed since last term. There are rows of tables situated around the room, two chairs at each one. All tables are facing front and the arrangement has put Professor Moxley's desk, and the large floating white board just behind it, directly in your line of sight. Better sit with someone who doesn’t distract you, hm? Moxley is going to be cramming knowledge nuggets into those brains of yours all class long and that’s a promise. Speaking of the professor, Moxley can be found seated comfortably at her desk, a big old smile on her face. Someone’s excited about today’s class and it shows.
So come on in and take a seat, we'll be starting shortly! OOC: Please be sure to familiarize yourself with Moxley's rules before the lesson and all snitchseeker rules apply! Class has officially started! OOC: If you're just joining us, pretend your charrie has been here all along or face possible loss of points! Class Progression: Greetings and Question 1 Replies and Question 2 Replies and mini-activity! Main Activity! End of class! |

| ~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.
Gosh, Moxley was certainly doing a ton of talking! Adi tried not to zone out as the woman went on but it was easier said than done, of course. So what did he do to fix that? He settled in to scribbling more notes. Actually, he was trying to cram every word into his book but that was impossible.
He paused to look at the diagram on the board. Old fashioned or not, he didn't really care. A phone was a phone, right? And they would be doing something related to this type of phone for homework? COOL!
Commence the drawing! Truthfully, Adi was TERRIBLE at artsy stuff but he used a ruler and pencil to draw the phone as accurately and as est as he could which wasn't so difficult considering that the phone consisted mainly of squares and rectangles. After that, came the labelling.
Annnnnd... DONE!
WHAT NEXT, PROFESSAH?

Xavi had been right. This class was a total waste of his time. Maybe he could talk to his head of house about dropping it. Because they were really going to draw a telephone? He was here to learn magic, not improve his sketching skills talking about a subject he already understood.
He resisted the urge to roll his eyes, and resolved to note this experience in his letter home next week. Xavi pulled out his pencil, no need to draw with a quill and ink, and began copying the diagram on the board.

Wylie wished that telephones DID work at Hogwarts.
Because with all the talking that Professor Moxley was doing, it was getting harder and harder to stop all the yawning HE was doing. If the telephones did work, he could have EASILY hid all his yawns and maybe would've even been able to take a quick nap and the woman wouldn't even had KNOWN.
He could've even disguised his voice to let her know that this part of the lesson was boring. Talking. Writing. He wanted to move onto actually using the thing!
They were going to use one, right? Otherwise, that would be disappointing.
Until he found that part out then, Wylie busied himself with drawing the telephone instead.

| Otter This World ♡ Catpurrccino ♡ Slotherin ♡ Pandamonium Quill in hand Hady quietly took down some notes making sure to properly list things on her parchment as they were said. Keeping things clear now would save her the trouble of finding what she needed later on. One never really realized how many types of telephones there truly was until it was written down.
Apparently now though she needed to draw. Well alrighty then. Taking out her ruler and some more ink colors she got to work carefully making each line. She took her time with making the buttons and then the spiraly cord before she took to labeling each part. Even if she knew what this was Professor Moxley had said it was needed for homework so the third year did her best to keep it neat and clear.
With that done she pushed her parchment to the side and waited for the lesson to continue. |

| ½ EagleBrain ♥ Creeperdoodle ♥ Raven Dor ♥ Berry ♥ ½ Team House Elf There were lots of things to know about phones, apparently. All or at least MOST of which was common sense stuff to anyone who had lived in the muggle world, so naturally he found he didn't need to copy down any notes at all... except those that he was instructed to copy down. Like this diagram.
Easy peasy.
The tip of his tongue stuck out the side as he concentrated on copying down the neat drawing of the old telephone, the buttons and EVERYTHING with good detail. Once he had the image part mapped out, he annotated it with the labels shown on the board.

But lucky that this telephone wasn't that hard to be drawn. Taking his note and muggle pencil, the Korean guy walked to the board and drew back the parts of the telephone. He had seen this one before and yeah, of course he knew that this was the old version. So it has handset, speaker, the buttons, dial pad, cord, and..... DONE! Okay, maybe his drawing wasn't good but... Whatever.
Then he went back to his seat again.

| A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.
Talking. Loooots of talking. This woman sure did love to talk didn’t she?
Although it was educational, Yoongi felt that his eyelids were getting heavier as the minutes passed. Still, he forced himself to look awake and interested in this communication subject because he hated it himself when someone wasn’t listen to him when he was talking. He scribbled down some notes and then turned his attention to the blackboard where a picture of a telephone was on.
Getting tired of her voice? At least she knew that it was boring… Yoongi grabbed a piece of parchment and a muggle pencil and began to draw the image he saw on the board. A square first. Which he then divided in to three other ones. He drew the handset on the left and then drew a few buttons on the right. Checking his watch, he wrote down the time that it was now and when he was done he added the text around it.
He placed his pencil down and looked around him to see how far the others were.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Leah Abbott Fifth Year | please don't let me be miunderstood
There was A LOT of information to go through. While many students groaned at reviewing the stuff they already knew, Leah took notes eagerly. She wrote down EVERYTHING, including the bit about a stone being tossed into water. This telephone thing was simply fascinating. She rarely got to use one, and the only time she had a chance to see a real life telephone was in her friend's house ages ago. That one was probably older than the one in the picture, though. Like it was TINY. You could fit it in a hand and things moved whenever you touched the screen. To be honest, it was quite annoying.
After giving her hand a short rest, the Fifth Year began to copy down the image as best as she could. She sketched out the... the base before moving on to the handset, display and other equally interesting parts. Also some cute little arrows labelling each bit. When she was finished, her dark brown eyes scanned her diagram. It looked COOL.

Zhenya frowned at the diagram. Not the most up to date photo of a telephone? Whoa, but that looked amazing! So detailed and lots of pieces. She wondered what newer telephones looked like. Actually, she wondered if Professor Moxley had a REAL LIFE telephone she could actually look at. And maybe even touch. She didn't want to actually use it but...
Nevermind, they were drawing the diagram down. Zhenya took out her parchment, because she didn't want to buy a muggle exercise book. She didn't need a book to show her how to do exercises, she just liked going out for long walks and hikes. She clicked her four-way pen to black and tried to copy the diagram as best as she could. It came out a bit wobbly, but that was okay. It was big enough that she could clearly label. She clicked the black bit off and clicked the red bit on, and wrote down the bits and pieces. This was real high techy techy stuff. And the pen, too. Ingenious! It was so convenient not having to dip the pen into ink each time she wanted to write something. So precise too, no ugly black splotches on her work.

So...they were talking about phones. As soon she heard the name Alexander Graham Bell, Eden knew it. So she didn't feel completely stupid. At least she connected THAT name with phones and whatnot. She thought having a muggle mother helped with this stuff, though. Would she have known any of this stuff otherwise? She was sure Iwin didn't know...well, maybe he did. He was good with history and whatnot.
Phones had such a huge effect on muggle life. And some wizarding life, since she had a phone for the summers...and a lot of her magical friends did, too. It was quicker than OWLing...and convenient and stuff.
But they were copying a diagram. WELL. Eden was a lousy drawer, so she just kind of...scribbled it down and tried her best to make it resemble a telephone in SOME way...because eh. So far, it was not...

Hogwarts RPG Name: Adrienne Rebecca Colbert Seventh Year | The Last of Her Kind Of course Adrienne's answer was right. She was always right. Duh. But more importantly, the class was continuing, so she quickly wrote down what Professor Moxley was saying in her messy cursive scrawl. She even ended up throwing a few phrases in French in there, because she was in enough of a rush not to distinguish between languages, and when she looked up at the board again, there was a huge diagram of a... something. Is that what a phone looked like?
Last time Adrienne checked, they weren't all square and weird like that, with ten million buttons. When she'd been in France over the summer with Tora, they'd passed some time making fun of the muggles with what looked like small, slender black boxes with a screen on one side. They played games on them, she knew, and sometimes held them up to their faces and talked into them. But she wasn't sure what the purpose of all of those doohickeys and buttons on the diagram was, not to mention the weird cord on the bottom. Was part of it detachable? Regardless, she copied it down diligently, assuming the teacher would clarify things for her later.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Alessandra (Alli) Whitt First Year | actually did not know that they had captioned telephones Tricksy Hobbitses Quote:
Originally Posted by TakemetotheBurrow Yes! YES! This was what Moxley was talking about. She was all about the students making connections between the muggle world and the wizarding one, as that was what she was trying to make them see each time she taught, that the issues in both societies are the same, even when we have different ways of dealing with them. ”Excellent thinking Ms. Brown, Mr. Fuller Thompson, and Ms. Carrington! In both muggle and wizarding society, communication is vital, sometimes for our survival. As Ms. Brown mentioned, before telephones, handling emergencies was quite difficult. As many doctors made house calls, if they weren’t in the immediate area, getting word to them and having them arrive in a timely fashion wasn’t always easy. In this way, telephones were extremely important to muggles. They connect people directly to help, no matter how far they are from medical facilities.” Nod. Nod. ”And as Ms. Carrington pointed out, with telephones, one could put connected to whoever they needed to speak with quickly, just as we can when we use two-way mirrors.” "Mr. Fuller-Thompson brings up another great point about the wizarding world compared to the muggle one. Here, we still rely on owls to send messages, much like carrier pigeons were used as far back as ancient times in the muggle world. While magic allows us faster methods of communication such as mirrors, floo, and patronuses mentioned, if we were to lose magic for some reason, we’d be left to rely on more archaic means of doing things than those in the muggle world.”
The Ravenclaw and the Hufflepuffs received big smiles and a nod of her head. Moxley was impressed by their thinking. ”It has already been mentioned that to get in contact with someone before telephones, you needed to rely on mail delivery or in-person communication, both of which weren’t always done quickly. I think Dot summed it up quite well when she said that telephones made the world smaller. It allowed people to communicate with others from across town, or across an ocean. I do think this made it much easier for people to move away from home because they’d still be able to make contact whenever they needed to hear the voice of someone they were missing. The telephone provided comfort in that sense.” As for Norah’s question, Meredith smiled. ”As Tobias mentioned, electrical devices don’t function well at Hogwarts.” Which was why owl delivery, as well as the other means mentioned, were what the students and staff relied on. Moxley smiled at Ophelia, happy to see that her mind was working. Her questions were valid, though Meredith didn’t feel she could really speak for Bell. ”It is interesting, Ms. Clarke. All I can say is that perhaps Bell was interested in communication in general, and that is why his journey lead him to work with the deaf, as well as invent something for the hearing.” And she had more to add but Ms. Guidry chimed in to provide the answer Meredith was going to share. ”Indeed, Janelle! These special telephones are called captioned telephones, Ms. Clarke. They have a screen which shows in text, everything that the person on the phone is communicating. ” Unfortunately Moxley didn’t know much more than that but she could certainly find reading materials on it, if Ophelia was still interested. Indeed! Moxley nodded her head, agreeing with the students as more answers poured in. ”Yes, passing on news was certainly made easier with the telephone! Both in the sense that you could communicate it quickly and in that it saved you the physical effort of having to write to, or go and see, the person you needed to speak with.” And no, that didn’t mean people were necessarily lazy. Who wanted to walk miles and miles to share that they were having a baby or whatever? Certainly not her. Well, weren’t these kiddos a happy bunch? Moxley tried not to smile, she really did, but she was so amused. Any prank calls received in the future at her residence- because of course she had a phone, hello!-and these would be some of the prime suspects. Well, if they were savvy at figuring out her number, anyway. ”The telephone is definitely a way for people to get messages, sometimes unpleasant ones, across without the caller having to see the callee. It also means a quicker way to end said communication without having to actually deal with the consequences. In this way, some could say the telephone is a negative thing. Sometimes people might be emboldened by the fact they aren’t actually seeing the person they’re talking to.” Just a thought. And now some pros and cons provided by the students and elaborated on by on Meredith Moxley. You’re welcome. ”The invention of the telephone had a domino effect, if you will. It inspired many other inventions that came after it, leading to even new ways to communicate today. Mr. Hughbert mentioned that one can call on the phone and have food delivered to your home but now, not only can you call, but you can also use the internet to connect you to restaurants and place orders. You don’t even have to talk on the phone anymore to communicate something like that. Also, things like cellphones, a portable version of home phones, have been constantly revamped so that they can do things like update you on weather, the events going on in the lives of your loved ones, and even act as a tracker to help locate you, or a stolen item you left your phone in. It’s all quite amazing the way the inspiration from one invention can create a ripple effect you’ll continue to see years from that first stone tossed into the proverbial water.” Nod. Nod.
Pausing to let everyone catch up on notes, Moxley gave an encouraging smile. She knew this was a lot of information to take in. ”Now for the cons. Yes, all of the technology sometimes means people focus more on their phones than what’s going on elsewhere and that can be an issue. I don’t think that necessarily makes them stupid and would like to say that instead, perhaps phones can be a bigger distraction than some can handle. Also, they allow people access to your life. For example, dealing with people who’ve gotten your number and sold it to persistent businesses looking to rope you into something you’re not interested in. There are always drawbacks to new inventions and those are just a few.”
And that was a lot of information, Merlin! Time for Moxley to give her voice a rest for a bit! The brunette went to her desk and pulled out an enlarged picture, turning to then fix it to the white board. "Now I'm sure all of you are getting tired of my voice," Moxley joked, a big smile on her face. "So I'd like everyone to take some time to copy down the image I've put up on the board. Now this is obviously not the most up to date version of the telephone but it will be helpful to you when doing your homework. So everyone, get started on that and then we'll move on to our activity!" OOC: 1 post for this will do! Just have your charrie copying down the diagram as best they can! It's up to you whether or not you wish to actually use paint or another method to actually draw it out. I'm not requiring it <3 WOAH, they had captioned phones? Okay, so that was cool. Man, muggles were interesting, if you forget about the no magic part that was kind of a huuuuuge roadblock. Maybe that's why they keep inventing things. Because they didn't get to do all of this cool magic stuff like she did. For a second, Ophelia felt sorry for muggles, not learning how to Transfigure things or learning about Ancient Runes. But the feeling was fleeting, and it passed like a bad stomachache. They got along well enough, from what her dad said. Even though their technology was a little funny sometimes, they still had their ways of doing things.
She wanted to make a comment about how cool it was that they worked around disabilities like that and how cool was it that such a disability didn't stop people from using the telephone, but she stopped herself. It was the middle of class, and you just didn't talk in the middle of class. Class was for learning things, like captioned telephones and such. Not for making comments about said captioned telephones.
Anyway, copy down a picture of the telephone. Oh, you were about to see the best picture of a phone in the history of pictures of phones. Wait. How long was that history again? Couldn't be very long, right? Ophelia imagined that not many people took pictures of cell phones or telephones back in the old days, especially not when they were sooo plenty. But anyway, it was drawing time, which so happened to be the thirteen year old's favorite time.
A line here and here
another line there that curved inward
a curve to start and......
0_o.
No, the cord of the phone didn't look like that at all. Sigh.
Fix that
add a bit here and there
maybe subtract a bit there
add a little bit here
ANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNND... DONE!
Her fabulous drawing of a telephone was done! And it looked pretty good. Now all she had to do was diagram it. The blonde was almost sad to have to do such a thing, seeing how nice her picture looked, but the short girl figured she could always draw another one again and shade it. Maybe she could make a poster with telephones floating on a...... pink background. It seemed like something that would be in her room anyway.
Fighting off a writers cramp in her left hand, Ophelia got to work diagramming, looking back and forth several times between the pictures and her own. Diagramming was tough work!

| elephant-astic•wanderlust•stay in the ninedaaays the original Taco Belle•look at the flowers✿ While the kiddos were busy with notes, Moxley was busy producing three cardboard boxes and setting them on her desk. One had tin cans inside, the next had hammers and nails, and the last had pre-cut string. Once she'd finished setting everything out, she stepped up to the front of the room and clapped her hands to call everyone's attention to the front. "Now I know some of you are still working on your sketch and that's okay, but please take a moment to listen to what we'll be doing for the remainder of class." They really did need to get going if they wanted to have enough time to make, and try out, their next little project. "Tin Can Phones are easy to make and simple to use. They also show how sound waves travel from one can, convert into vibrations as they travel along the string in the middle, and then go back to sound waves when reaching the second can." Moxley had turned to the board at this point, drawing a simple diagram on the board to show the class. "Telephones that are hooked up inside the home work along the same idea. They have microphones inside which convert sound waves into electric currents along a wire, and then back into sound waves." Interesting, she knew. "Now to make a tin can cups phone you'll need two cans. You use the hammer and a nail to make a small hole at the bottom of each can. Do this carefully, please. Then you'll thread the string through each can, making knots at each end so the string does not come out of either can." She stopped to write these steps on the board quickly for those not paying attention because there was always a few. Quote: Need: 2 cans, 1 hammer, 1 nail, and a string Steps: 1. Carefully, using the hammer and nail, make a small hole at the bottom of each can.
2. Thread string through the cans and tie them off at each end so string remains attached.
3. Congratulations, you have a tin can phone!
"Once you've made your phone, find a partner! You and your partner can take turns testing out your phones. Make sure you spread out across the room, keeping the string taut when you're trying to communicate. One person listens at one end, one person talks at the other. If you keep the string taut, you should be able to hear the message your partner is saying." Grin! "And if you're finished with your drawing, you may come up to get your materials and get started!" OOC:First, if you want to make any catch-up posts, I will count those for credit!
If anyone has any questions during the activity, please put it in the title of your post and I'll get to it as soon as possible! At least 4 posts, please! Class will close Saturday, May 30th at around 8pm EDT! You have until then to get your posts in! :3

He'd done this in third grade, he was totes a pro at it... or at least, he WAS, then... it wouldn't be hard to replicate his efforts from then to now. Zeke grinned the whole time Professor Moxely talked, copying down the second diagram into his notebook - not because he NEEDED to, but more so just because it would be useful to have a record of what the lesson was about.
FUN!
Once they were given the green light, Zeke hopped off his seat and went to collect his materials. Two cans, CHECK, one hammer, CHECK, one nail, CHECK and string, CHECK!
He was all set.
Returning his spoils to his desk, he set them out and closed his book to place back in his bag for the time being, out of the way of his handy work.

OH EXCITING! They were going to be making Tin Can Phones, whatever they were. Zhenya listened as Professor Moxley explained everything to them. How they made the phones, what the phones did etc. Zhenya was glad when Professor Moxley wrote the instructions on the board, because she didn't know how to use a hammer, or how to use a nail. She knew what a nail was, but not a hammer. They were really heavy, that was all she knew. So, she was going to get confused with the instructions - but there they were.
Zhenya went out the front to where the cardboard boxes were. She picked out two tin cans, then moved to the other and realised there were nails in this box, so she got one. The other things in there must be the hammer. "Is this the hammer, Professor?" she asked, picking it out by the handle. It wasn't as heavy as she thought it would be, so when she picked it up with force, expecting it to be heavy, it jumped up and hit her on her forehead. "OWW," she said, rubbing her forehead. Silly hammer. Never mind, she got over it quickly. Then in the third box there was string, and she grabbed a piece of that.

| Post 1-We're looking for a partner toooo ^_^ ~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.
Once finished with his sketch, Adi had focused his attention on the three boxes Moxley had set up. What were in them? As his curiosity would have it, he raised slightly in his seat to to to peek in one at least but a fat lot that helped. All he could see were some shiny things in one of the boxes. Heh. So, he had to wait. It was a good thing he was patient.
Tin Can phones! COOOOOL! Adi had made those when he was a kid and in primary school for a project. This was going to be fuuuun! Once Moxley was done, jumped up from his seat. "Who wants to be my partner?'' he asked those around him. No one would mind an always energetic Badger, riiiiight? Anyway, he needed to get the stuff to make the phone: two cans, a hammer and nail and string.

Henric waited for the others finishing up their diagrams after he was done drawing his, he then looked up to Professor Moxley for more instructions. So they were going to make a can-to-can string communication device,eh? Easy..he did this a couple of times too back in the day,he was sure he could do it in a jiffy. Okay time to get the materials ready, he got up towards the front and grabbed the things he needed before moving back to his seat. He laid them on his table carefully as if he would do them in a step by step process. Henric turned the empty can upside-down, grabbed hold of the hammer with a nail put on his other hand and started punching a hole through the middle. He needed to be careful with his thumb by doing this, it wouldn't be fun if he hurt himself in the class.

Oh yeah. Partner still needed! Whooooa, they were making tin can phones!! Lux had done that when she was little, so this was an exciting prospect for her!!
Muggle Studies was always so much fun.
Time to get to work then find a partner, but looked like Adi was already asking. Hehe, she would work with him for sure!! "You're my partner." It wasn't even a question. Lux wanted to work with her friend today!! It was nice switching things up, though if Bay was still at Hogwarts she would have worked with him any chance that she got.
Now on to making her phooooooone. |

Meredith smiled at Zhenya, nodding her head. "Yes, that's the hammer. Be sure to be careful whe-" Oh Merlin's beard, first injury of the class.
The brunette hurried over to the girl, noting that she seemed to be okay. Still, she gave her a once over just in case. "You alright, there? Remember my name and yours and everything?" Moxley hoped so or else she'd have to send the girl to the healer and she'd never hear the end of it! "Perhaps you should find an older student to work near so you can observe how they use the hammer, hm?"

| Post 1 + Need a partner c: Otter This World ♡ Catpurrccino ♡ Slotherin ♡ Pandamonium Awesome! Tin-can phones! She remembered making these at home with her parents and cousins once when she was really young. They'd played with them all day long and had a blast with it. Those were some fun times.
Anyhow she needed to pay attention. With her quill in hand she went ahead and copied down the second drawing onto her parchment as nearly and accurately as she could. Once she had that down she rose to her feet and went to get her materials.
Two cans. Some string. A hammer. One nail.
Mhmm yup she had what she needed. Returning to he desk she laid her things out. Silently she scanned the desks near her for a partner if anyone needed one she was available. Not that she was to concerned with asking someone to partner up with her just yet. |

Moxley hoped so or else she'd have to send the girl to the healer and she'd never hear the end of it! "Perhaps you should find an older student to work near so you can observe how they use the hammer, hm?" Oops. Zhenya was fine, "You're Professor Moxley, I'm Zhenya Burton," she said, nodding and giving a smile. A bit embarrassed, but no harm. At least she knew what the hammer was. It really kicked a punch, and she was a bit worried about using it, but that was a good suggestion. She nodded "Good idea," she said, turning around and seeing Adi and Lux working together, so trusting that the two sixth years knew what they were doing with the hammer, she walked up and claimed a spot near them. "Can I watch you use the hammer?" she asked quietly.
But she still needed a partner. "Anyone want to be my partner?" she asked, setting up her tin cans, hammer, nail and string in front of her. Now to watch what Adi and Lux did with the hammer...

| Post 2 ~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.
Someone DID want to be his partner! WOOT! Adi had been setting up his tin cans on his desk and he didn't even have to bother asking who was brave enough to put up with him and his hyper self. It was Lux! Yay! He liked how she just stated outright that he would be her partner. Of course he would! She was one of his closest friends so not refusal at her statement on his part.
"You got it, Lux!'' was the reply and she got a grin. Two hyper Hufflepuffs made an AWESOME team! YUP! Now, to actually start working on making the phone. "First we take the hammer and nail...'' The Badger grabbed the two before resting the nail on one of the can's base, directly in the centre of it. He lifted the hammer but then paused as Zhenya joined them. "Heya, Zhenya! Sure!'' Adi figured his Snakette friend was not familiar with the instrument. "It's pretty simple.'' He raised the hammer again and brought it against the nail which was pushed into the can by the hammer's force.
CLANG!
Well, obviously it wasn't a really loud sound but there was one. Adi repeated this step for the other can then looked over at his partner for the lesson. "Getting on alright, Lux?" And to Zhenya. "It's simple enough, right?'' He grinned. If she needed help, he was here!

Moxley talked a lot, did she know? Grayson furrowed his eyebrows as he tried to make heads or tails of what the woman was saying. Honestly? It wasn't working. There was just too much information, mkay? And he was trying his hardest to note everything down but........ lol. Loooooool!
As for the part about being too absorbed by your phone: GOOD. It gave him an excuse to not have to talk to a buncha random people. Not that he was the one striking up conversation; they're the ones that had the crazy idea that he wanted to know what they had for breakfast. No. Just no.
Lololol. He was late in getting started on the drawing. Excellent, Grayson. So, pulling his journal even closer, the boy started drawing out the diagram that was on the board. Sure, it wasn't the best of drawing and he was no artist so this was gonna have to do.
There. Done. Now he could move on to the next activity.

Phone diagram drawing done! It looked great. She loved that she could show off her artistic abilities in lessons. These kind of classes were fun.
Tin can phones. Her and her dad used to make them all the time. Talk about a blast from her childhood. Her dad would make the strings long enough to reach outside of the house. She would have to do that with Chase and Zoe when they got older. She could probably get Chase to play.
She wrote the instructions even though she had made a billion can phones before. She gathered up two tin cans, string, hammer and a nail.
She went back to her desk to work on the can phone. Taking the nail and placing it right in the center of the bottom of the can. She tapped the nail with the hammer making a hole. She went ahead and done the samething to the other can. Then she slipped the string through the hole in one of the cans and tied a knot and slipped the other end if the string through the other can and tied that end.
She checked to make sure the string wouldn't slip through the holes of the can. Now the fun part... finding a partner. She looked around quietly. Then "Anyone one need a partner?" Or was everyone still working on their phone?

As Moxley checked everyone's sketches it was now time for activity time. He saw the diagram what they were going to do and that was soo old fashioned. He laughed with the coolness of it. This is what he used to make as a child. He remembered trying this with his cousins. He knew how to make these easily. He began to scribble it into his notebook though...
Kace copied it down and saw he needed to get the supplies. He went to the front of the room and saw he needed two metal cans obviously. Then he got his string. He also got the hammer and nail. He went to his desk and made a small hole into the can like he did in the old days. Then he did it for the other metal can. He strung the string through it and tied it at the bottom. There now that was perfect. He looked around and wondered who would wanna be his partner.
