Magic Free Fun Zone: Theme 1 (Muggle Matinees)-Hocus Pocus

~*Introducing the Muggle Studies Magic Free Fun Zone!!!*~
Across from the Muggle Studies classroom, an older door hides a new surprise set up by Professor Cerulean to further introduce and immerse students in some more of the fun aspects of Muggle Life.
SPOILER!!: Door
When the door is open, you will step into a room that has been charmed to match the theme of the room. Inside this room, no student is allowed to use magic. It is a completely Magic Free Fun Zone.
Every few months (few weeks OOC), the theme of the room will change to something else. During this time, you can RP taking part in those activities.

When you enter the Magic Free Fun Zone room, you are instantly hit with the smell of Muggle popcorn. In the entrance, there is a movie concession stand. Behind the concession stand, is a huge red curtain that is pulled aside. Once you walked through the curtain, you enter a huge movie theatre. The theatre has specially charmed seats that are extra soft.
SPOILER!!: Movie Theatre
In the concession area is a long table full of various Muggle Movie treats. There is a popcorn machine with bags beside it that is busy popping new popcorn for the movies. Beside that is a stack of cups and a soft drink machine. Past that is a stack of Muggle Candy, including Nerds, Skittles, Milk Duds, Sour Patch Kids, Starbursts, Gummy Bears, Junior Mints, and Hot Tamales. This table has been charmed to refill everything automatically after you grab things of your choice. Your refills are endless but don't eat too much.
Every week OOC a new movie will be shown in the theatre area. The new movie will be announced each week in this thread. All of the movies are school appropriate.
Movie 2: Hocus Pocus (In honor of Halloween, since we are in the month of October in the RP)
Show Dates: Friday, January 13-Thursday, January 19
Storyline:
“After 300 years, three sister witches are resurrected in Salem Massachusetts on Halloween night, and it us up to two teenagers, a young girl, and an immortal cat to put an end to the witches reign of terror once and for all.”
Synopsis/Summary:
In 1693, there lived in Salem three very powerful and deadly evil witches, the dreaded Sanderson sisters. One night, with eternal life on their minds, they began their quest, which involved stealing the life force from the pure - specifically, children. In an attempt to save his little sister from their evil clutches, young teen Thackery Binx risked it all... and lost. Taken by the villagers, the evil witches were hanged, but not before placing a curse that would allow them one more try, if the conditions could be met and a virgin would only light a special candle on the right night at the right place at the right time.
That was only a popular legend in Salem's history, though. Or was it? New kid in town Max Dennison is no fan of Halloween, or Massachusetts. Fresh from LA, Max finds himself a stranger in a town full of witch-believing Halloween fans. As a matter of fact, there is nothing about the east coast that Max likes at all... until he sees sweet Allison. Daughter of the woman who runs the Sanderson museum (their actual house, undisturbed for three hundred years), she takes Max and his adorable but pesky little sister Dani to the house. Laughing and mocking the foolishness, Max pulls out a lighter, and does the unthinkable - he lights the candle!
Now, in a deadly race against time, three terrified youngsters from the 20th century must do battle against three powerful but clueless witches from the 17th century, before time runs out... for someone. With a couple of unexpected allies at their side, they must fight to the finish to save their world.

Please grab some refreshments and head into the theatre and find a comfy seat. Once you sit down, the muffliato charm will silence your conversations from those around you so have fun RPing throughout the movie without a worry that you are going to bother or interrupt the movie for others.
NOTE: This is not a snogging/makeout room. Remember that Professor Cerulean will be dropping in throughout the movies so keep in mind that you are always being watched. Feel free to RP yourself grabbing goodies and watching the movie and talking and such. Have fun with this!

Glenn walked into the theatre and mouthed, "Wow!" She hadn't been to the last movie, so she hadn't been here before, she was only going because, well- it was a good form of procrastination from her homework.
Not many people were there, much less in costume like the notice in the common had said you could. She was wearing a costume that could only be described as a stereotypical muggle version of a witch. Her blonde curly hair cascaded down her back, extremely messily, she also wore oversized black robes, her wand stuck out of her pocket and she had a costume-like witch hat perched slightly to the side on her head.
She walked over and got herself some popcorn and filling her drink cup up to the rim. She found a seat next to a girl around her age and sat down, "You don't mind do you?" She said, "I'm Glenn," She extending her hand, "Second year Hufflepuff." She grinned and busied herself with putting her drink and popcorn somewhere where she wouldn't be able to spill it.

Jory had never gotten around to watching "Hocus Pocus". He had read the plot online because one of his favourite actors- Sean Murray had starred in it when he was a child.
The Huffie got some popcorn, Skittles and soda then made his way into the theater to get a good seat.

Vlimia smiled as she arrived in her costume. She was like... a golden leaf fairy or something. She looked around and noticed that not many people were in costume. Well, there wasn't many people actually there, either. Vlim got her usual Sprite, Sour Patch Kids and Starbursts and sat down on one of the red seats. The movie had just started. Goody!
Selina pushed her hat over to the center of the head. She knew that the whole point of the halloween event was to dress up but this fourth year redhead would much rather wear a pair of sneakers and some comfortable clothes than dress up in some costume to watch a movie. After her first experience at the cinema she knew that it was quite a physical feat. Jumping around like an idiot was not going to help her case in this costume. It had too many parts to it and honestly she just wanted to wear sweatpants, but Kurumi was all into the whole Halloween thing and she promised her friend that she would go and see this "scary" movie with her... so here she was.
She entered the theatre and grabbed her usual... six boxes of candy and her large bowl of popcorn. Once she was all settled she waited for Kurumi. Hopefully the that helped in locating her.

Vlimia heard a scuffling and then a loud stream of chatter coming from her best friend. "Hey Cardi. Yeah, it will be pretty interesting to see what Muggle stereotypes about magic are expressed in this movie." Vlim greeted her slightly hyperactive buddy. "What are you for Halloween? I'm some random cute golden fairy." She said, looking at her fake wings. "These wings actually move, but I won't show you now. Sometimes it levitates me, and that would be a little distracting to the other people in the theatre." Vlim explained, sipping her Sprite.

Random person in the gothic-victorian times. Huh. "Cool." Vlimia commented, pointing at the screen like a giddy schoolgirl. She had a good excuse to - she was giddy, at school and a girl. It was starting! The blue castle was begginging to fade onto the screen! Vlim loved that part. Then the screen faded to a book. Most movies with the blue castle started that way.
Vlimia watched, enraptured, as a little girl was stolen by the most stereotypical Muggle witches she had ever seen. They even had the cackle! She had to giggle a little when the red-head witch opened the shutters and revealed her somewhat delirious face. After a while the three stereotypical witches started to suck the soul out of a little girl. Muggles were sick people! Vlim had to admit that the effects weren't very good - the little girl merely looked like a patronus. Aand then the witches did this creepy witchy dance. No wonder Muggles feared witches so much! Then the three witches did the WEIRDEST SPELL ever! It didn't even sound like anything, just three creeps muttering gibberish.

Waylon hoped the rumors were true.
If there was one thing he learned about working around a bunch of children, it was that some of the things they said were the most made up and ridiculous things. It wasn't like he would eavesdrop on them or anything, but spending all his time on the grounds, Groundskeeping of course, it was hard to block their talk out. No matter how hard he tried. The children were everywhere.
Despite knowing the kid's made up stories, though, he found himself wandering the halls of Hogwarts, looking for the Muggle Studies classroom. It had been forever since he roamed the halls, and even back then he would get lost.
It didn't help that William and Oliver would tell him which way to go.
Chuckling just at the thought, he should have known that he didn't have to leave the castle to get to the Arithmancy Classroom, Waylon finally reached the classroom and rushed himself into the door right across from it. He was surprised to find that it was exactly what the kids had said it was; a muggle theater! And it was playing Hocus Pocus, a movie he hadn't seen in forever.
Not even bothering to grab popcorn, Waylon found the best seat, and once sitting, he propped his feet up on the chair in front of him. He didn't bother to check to see if there was a kid in that chair either.

Medea was a bit interested at first when she heard about this room, though never really got around to actually making an appearance to watch a movie. She heard the first one was about some lion cub growing up. Didn't sound all that interesting to her.
Nevertheless, despite her thoughts on the matter, Medea slowly pushed open the door to this supposed movie theater, perhaps having been a tiny bit late, and paused a few steps inside. Just staring at the screen. What the..what?
Wait...
What?
This so was not about some lion cub. The clothes these people were wearing were hideous!

Sure Gideon had seen one before, it was the benefit of having muggles or muggleborns in the family as well as relatives who sought to show both sides to their children. He had missed out on the first movie, but when the second title had been mentioned, an unfamiliar title, the Gryffindor had decided to try his best to check it out.
Reaching the door where everything was to take place, Gideon opened it to find a theater all decked out with goodies. That was one thing with Professor Cerulean...she loved to have snacks everywhere and of course a movie theater was no different. Grabbing some popcorn for himself, he moved to find a good seat. Looking around he spotted a familiar flash of red hair coming from beneath a crazy costume and smiled, making his way down the aisle to the row right behind her.
"Fancy meeting ye here..." he mused as he moved down the row so he was closer. His own science fictiony outfit was his attempt at a halloween costume.

Gwen came in to the theater and spotted Vlimia. She stooped down slightly, in the hope that she wouldn't hinder the people watching the movie as she joined Vlimia and sat down next to her.
Gwen was wearing a rather silly costume: she'd dressed up as a hippogriff. She wore a fuzzy grey bodysuit, large grey wings and a grey, feathered headpiece in the shape of a hippogriff's head, that had a charmed beak and eyes that actually moved.
"Hi," Gwen whispered to Vlimia with a smile, as she set her large hippogriff hat down on the free seat next to her. The beak and eyes still moved. Gwen wished she could use magic to stop the charm, but this was the Magic Free Fun Zone, so she simply took off her wings and laid those on top of the headpiece. She feared it might suddenly squawk during the movie.

It had only taken Waylon a few moments to get really comfortable in his seat when the smell of the popcorn reached his nose. He had tried to ignore it, but there were the students eating it, and he could see their mouth moving as they chewed and..he thought it would be rude if he just reached his hand into someone's cup to take a handful of it. He didn't know why he thought that, it wasn't like they couldn't get up and get more.
He had tried sighing loudly, to get someone's attention, maybe the students of Hogwarts would be kind enough to offer to get him some, but there seemed to be some charms around that wouldn't let his sighs be heard from other people. Sigh again.
Finally deciding that he would just suck it up and get it himself, he slowly removed his feet from off the chair in front of him. He had just started to chair hop when he noticed someone. Someone standing right there, right there by the concession stand. Moving over the chairs a little faster, not much faster, though, he recognized that someone as Medea, and he made a few psst'ing noises as he moved closer to her.

Silvia stepped into the Muggle Studies-turned-theater room. She hadn't seen a movie in a while. Normally, she didn't care for Halloween movies, but this was one of the few exceptions. Grabbing some popcorn, soda, and starbursts, Silvia made her way in and quickly found a seat.

Shaking her head a tad bit, not knowing what he was saying, she sudden realization that she may be standing in the way suddenly hit her. Good Merlin, did he need to leave? She better sit down then. And stat! Smiling a little, she quickly sat in the nearest seat, giving him a two thumbs up for the tip.

Alyssa hadn't seen this movie before, but since it was about witches, she figured she'd sit back and enjoy it. She had already grabbed a big bag of buttered popcorn and a big cup of Coke. As she watched the movie, she wondered why Muggles always depicted witches as ugly looking things. So far from her experience in real life, she hadn't come across a witch who had ugly warts and buck teeth. 'Sigh! Muggles. Always stereotyping witches as mean, ugly women who don't even know how to laugh properly! Of course they had to pick Salem as the home ground for the movie too! Salem doesn't even look this.' Alyssa thought to herself as she watched the three kids trying to outwit the witches.
Vickers started to nod his head eagerly but then slowed down when Laci sounded puzzled "Yeah a nickname... like a pet name--" wait she might think he's naming himself after one of his pets "I mean... its a name people call you, sometimes is a shorter version of your own name, sometimes its something thats people know you like or is your favorite. Like for me-- Vickers is actually a name of a Muggle airplane." And that may even confuse her even more....
Then she started to explain stagenames "So it is like an alias... or a screen name." Like all those Muggle actors. Vickers had to smile, fire-headed creature trainer was a bit of a mouthful, but with a few creative edits it had potential.
He had to stifle a cautious yelp when the ducks started tumbling down. He's handled lots of different winged creatures before, but getting them to stack up one after the other was something he hasnt done yet nor would he want to. Although Laci looked to be having a fun time with it.
Speaking of fun....
"Hey Laci, I read that its Hogwart's millennial anniversary and that there are some celebrations happening for it around the grounds." He was curious oh yes he was "Do you want to go around the school and look for it?"
"Actually I also heard there was some kind of FUN ZONE in the castle! Wanna go there?!" Laci didn't wait for an answer, instead she just walked on up to the castle waiting for Vickers to trail behind.
Finally they got to the theatre where Laci took initiative and chose a convenient seat away from other people so if they talked no one would be bothered.

Stacey walk into the movie theater and saw that the movie she is going watch is Hocus Pocus. Then she saw Cardigan sitting next to Vlimia. She quickly grab a bag of popcorn and walk over to Cardigan. "Hey, Cardigan and Vlimia." say Stacey as she sat down next to Cardigan.

His eys then shifted up at the screen.... and winced "Are.... are these people supposed to be witches?" He didnt know if he would feel flattered or insulted.
"Have you seen this?" He obviously seemed to know what was going on... "I like this.... Talking cat." it had SASS! "So this is a muggle movie? Have you ever seen a muggle movie before? I haven't!" Babble babble babble ramble ramble ramble. Laci talked alot but most of the time she didn't have anything to say.
"So, Would you prefer me to call you Vickers?" Of course if thats what he wanted she would oblige, she just thought his name was too outstanding to waste.

As Laci talked animatedly, Vickers tried to absorb what he was seeing onscreen. It was a comedy-- he understood that much. Its just that he wasnt sure to find the obvious comedic moments to be funny at all. If anything it looked to him as some kind of bawdy Muggle attempt at portraying their kind.
"N-No I havent seen this" he shook his head slightly "... but yeah this is a Muggle movie, this particular film basically showing how they think of us." he said, trying to state things neutrally even when he was a bit peeved with it. "I have seen other Muggle movies before though, but most of them are stories of their history, or their everyday living as Muggles." It was a way for him to study their nature, without having to be amongst them all the time, something his grandmother has been very stringent on.
Gratefully he pulled his eyes away from the screen and looked at Laci "Well.... I dont mind either way." he smiled slightly with a slight shrug of his shoulder "I mean sure I like being called Vickers, but I'm also pretty ok if people call me Vincenzo, specially if they use it real nicely." he chuckled awkwardly.
His eyes shifted momentarily at the screen. Meh more bawdiness. "How about you? What inspired your name Laci Aurelia?"

Zhenya was quite excited to see Hocus Pocus - more so than The Lion King. For one, she had already seen the Lion Kind, but secondly it didn't really have much to do with magic and she was SO interested in seeing how the muggles had portrayed witches. It would be really interesting! Plus her mother was always raving about how good Sarah Jessica Parker was in various movies she would see with her work friends.
She walked in to the cinema and grabbed a large bucket of butter popcorn, a bottle of water, a packet of maltesers and skittles and M&Ms and walked around looking for a face she recognised.
"Raven!" she said, quickly walking up to where she was sitting. She took a seat on her other side, for there was someone sitting next to her already. "Hey Raven, have you seen this movie yet?" she asked, offering some of her food to Raven and the other person next to her.
