J.K. Rowling shut down one casting rumour for
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, in a way, on Friday.
While Variety reported for weeks that actor Ezra Miller (who costarred with Emma Watson in
The Perks of Being a Wallflower) was set to play the American wizard character named 'Kredan', Rowling admitted, as shown below, that no such person with that name exists.
This does not necessarily mean that Miller hasn't been cast in the
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them series, or that he won't still play an American wizard. Rowling merely said the name was incorrect, not if there is another American wizard out there that Miller may play.
Warner Bros. has yet to comment on Miller's casting regardless, though Variety said on Thursday that he, along with Alison Sudol, were confirmed.
Sudol confirmed herself Friday morning, via her Twitter, that she has joined the cast as Queenie, sister of Tina (Katherine Waterston). No word yet from Miller's front.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them's first installment, written by the
Harry Potter author and directed by David Yates, hits theaters in November 2016.
