| | Splinter and Kreek's Used Brooms Even Dark Wizards need broomsticks! These brooms are used and varying states of repair. You can get a cheap broom here no trouble or maybe one with a more interesting pedigree. Special polishes and charms can be applied by request, but if you get caught using one, you didn’t get it from here.
The shop is tiny, though there appears to be a sizeable back room. Once upon a time this particular store happened to sell shrunken heads and there are a few hanging here and there watching everything and occasionally making comments on the clientele.
Occasionally witches and wizards of the dark variety, after talking with the Splinter and Kreek staff, disappear out into the back room. Occasionally they return with a house elf in tow. I wouldn’t linger here if I were you, or poke your nose into business that doesn't concern you. Knockturn Alley is just outside, to your right when you exit this shop is the staircase leading to the upper level and Moribunds pub, or just in front of you is the lower level of the alley. | Putting some life into this thread. :P Hiss!Roar!Growl!Caw! | Hermione's Double | The Little Three | Alecate Veronica Lafay hissed angrily as she made her way into the used brooms shops. Used. Well wasn't that a word she'd grown accustomed to? Nevertheless, she wasn't too fond of overseeing a broom shop. She'd never been much of a Quidditch player back in school. That sort of thing had been her sister's doings, not hers.
As she strolled behind the counter, she made a face at the amount of dust covering the place. If this was any sort of indication, she wouldn't be selling many brooms at all. It didn't look like the place had been used in years. She smirked as she sat stop a stool behind the counter and twirled her wand in her hand.

Dorin had been walking through the alley, making sure that no kids came sneaking down here. Sometimes he wished they would just so he could have the satisfaction of kicking them out again. Dorin Steele style.
He was walking passed the used broom shop when he spotted that Lafay woman inside. He should probably have just kept walking but he was bored and he liked getting her all riled up. Pushing the door open with his foot, Dorin stepped inside, releasing his wand from its holster as he did so. "Housekeeping is certainly not your fortay, is it?" No wonder she couldn't keep a man.

Veronica made a slight displeased face as she heard the door to the shop open. She had absolutely no interest in dealing with customers of any sort--she was just here for the money, not her people skills. Nevertheless, this was Knockturn Alley, and she'd be a fool to keep unaware of her surroundings for long.
She tilted her head toward the doorway and deepened her displeased expression as she noticed who'd stepped inside. "You looking for a fight, bad boy?" she sarcastically asked, eyeing his withdrawn wand. He was no harm, even with his wand out. "I'm no housekeeper," she added, growling under her breath. "I don't get paid to keep things clean around here."

"If I was, I certainly wouldn't get one here." She'd be dead before she could even raise her wand.
Moving deeper into the room, Dorin threw a smirk in her direction as he stood at the opposite end of the counter. "Obviously." he drawled as he took in the appearance of the shop. No wonder no one came in here. "You don't seem to do much of anything. Makes me wonder why Atropos is so hell bent on having you here?"

He'd flicked his wand out immediately upon entering, and although it amused her greatly, she supposed she couldn't blame him--whatever his name was. She'd been told, but she'd forgotten. "...and for you to think you have a remote idea of what I have or supposedly haven't been doing, it means you've been watching me," she sarcastically pointed out. Do you like what you see? "So now who's not doing their job?" She rolled her eyes and stood from her chair, coming out from the behind the counter with her own wand at her side. Well, this was Knockturn Alley... "I keep busy," he simply said, not exactly ready to reveal what she'd been up to. "I like to keep my work undercover. The less people who know about it, the better."

| Melly Bean | aussiegirl | a Supernatural freak "Of course I've been watching you." Stupid woman. Just because she worked for Atropos didn't mean she could be trusted. "It's my job to watch people." Something she should be doing also.
Undercover work? In other words, she did nothing but flit around the alley trying to look and sound tough. This is why he hated working with woman. "Who am I going to tell?" he said, glancing in her direction. "Does it involve cursing people." If so, he wanted in. It was far too quiet around here lately.
He was starting to get twitchy.

He was starting to get twitchy. Veronica rolled her eyes, not because she was annoyed by him, but because he was right. Of course he'd been watching her. Who in their right mind would be employed in Knockturn Alley, frequent it often, and then not watch out for the 'other guy'? "Thank you, Captain Obvious," she spat back, "but that wasn't quite what I was talking about." Although, now that he'd been so annoying about it, she wouldn't bother with any other explanations. How'd this one get hired anyway? He was far too confident about himself for his own good. "Who are you going to tell?" she asked, giving him a comical expression. Merlin, this one had to have a few screws lose. "You're just full of assumptions today, aren't you? I wasn't concerned with you telling anyone else." She was concerned with him knowing in the first place. She didn't answer the last question. He seemed to be interested now, and she really just wished he'd be on his way. "So what are you busy with, hmm?" She eyed him up and down. "Doesn't seem to be much."
