I'm feeling kind of crappy cuz it seems like I've been ******* everybody off on SS or something *sighs* I don't know...maybe everyone's fed up of my jokes or something

so I'm just going to hide out here in my story with the people who still love me. Because you all are sweet.

Morocco 1941

T: The boy was sitting under the table, yes under the table, not on it or over it, sheesh, you people reading me right or what?
O: *smacks Teddy* I'll take over son, you're killing my audience.

so anyways, the boy was sitting under the table, hiccouphing, and holding onto one of the table legs for dear life. He had a bottle in one hand and he was smiling stupidly at his companion. An older man dressed in a fine white suit with a roguish smile on his face.

"Come on out of there Otts, you've got company," Rick said as he dropped the tablecloth back over the boy. "He'll be with you in a second lady," Rick said to the girl with the long chocolate brown curly hair. She looked like an angel, but Rick knew women and he knew a dangerous girl when he saw one. "Can I buy you a drink?" He asked. He didn't want any trouble at the bar so he thought it best to find out what she wanted with the boy.

"He isn't drunk is he?" She asked, walking over to the table. She picked up the tablecloth, bent down and took the bottle from his hand, "This isn't firewhiskey, it's not even butterbeer it's butterscotch. You're not drunk Otts, you're full of sugar."

"Hello, Nurse!" The boy said smiling up at his friend. She slapped him hard across the face.

"Full of sugar is what you are. Full of sugar, and full of something else. No surprise there, I hear they've got a lot of it down on the farm." She dropped the tablecloth over him and walked over to the bar, "Yeah, you can buy me a drink mister."

"Sascha vodka for me, and a Shirley Temple for the lady," Rick said.

"Shirley Temple?" She said.

"You're no older than he is sweetie. You're what 15? You shouldn't even be here you're not old enough. You just happen to be a friend of the kids that's why I had them let you in," Rick replied.

Melissa smiled, her most delightfully wicked smile. She knew when she had met her match, and Ottery wasn't it. But dam if Rick wasn't the one. She wanted to jump into his arms right then and kiss him, she was sure he had been kissed plenty of times, so he would be an expert at that. The only kisses she had ever had where from foolish little schoolboys, and Ottery, the most foolish schoolboy of all.

"Fine." She said, patting the stool next to hers at the bar.

"Excuse me a minute...I've got company to take care of," Rick said as he spotted Captain Renault walking into the bar.

"Don't make me wait too long," the girl said, and regretted it. With men like that you didn't throw yourself at them...you played hard to get. But she had to quell that impulse.

"Hey Sascha, 'nother beer," Ottery said as he stumbled up to the bar.

Melissa leaned over the bar and got a bottle of mineral water and sprayed Ottery over the face to sober him up.

"Hey, why'd you do that for?" He asked, then seeing her clearly and out of the sugar haze he had been in, he took a deep breath and turned to run, but she had kicked his leg out under him knocking him to the floor.

"You're not going anywhere cowboy. Thank you," she said to Sascha as he handed her her drink. "Dumbledore wants to talk to you Ottery, and hiding out in Morocco isn't going to work. I swear if you make me chase you half way around the world again..."

"Oh, stuff it Mel," he said from where he was lying on the floor.

"Get the kid an apple juice would you Sascha dear," she said flirting with the Russian.

"I swear Mel, from the day I met you...I knew it was the beginning of an awful friendship."

The girl with the long chocolate brown curly hair started laughing, laughing long and hard and happy, and Ottery smiled because he loved the sound of it, so happy and clear. She had found him, which was why Wulfric Dumbledore had sent her after him. But Ottery was tired and he wanted out, he should have known it would not have been easy. He walked over to Sam and asked him to play a song for them. It was their song, it was...

Ottery, I'm sorry if what I said in the forum came off too strong. I didn't mean it a serious way...And I'm not mad at you. No matter what you're still Ottery to me even if we don't agree on some things; my impression of you has always stayed the same since day one! Lovable, blushy Ottery! Plus, you always accept people for who they are...you never leave anyone out.
Ok, I'll stop now.

You're story's comin' along good! Keep posting!

Still Morocco 1941

Ottery was lying in bed a cool summer desert breeze blowing over his arms and bare chest. He woke up to the white ceiling fan turning above him and the shadows made by the street lights in the darknened room.
"Sleep tight, don't let the bedbugs bite," he heard her voice say.
Ottery looked up, he was in his boxers and Mel was going through his pant's pockets. He blushed and made a grab for the bedsheets covering himself.
"Did you...me? I mean...did..."
"Yes I undressed you. Don't you wish, and don't worry I didn't touch you I used magic," Mel said a cheeky smile flittering across her face. "I'm looking for your wand, wouldn't want you trying anything silly Otts. Like trying to confound me or something."
He blushed at that. He'd dabbed his lips with a knockout potion back at Hogwarts and that was how he had gotten away from her in the first place, but Melissa was the kind of girl that wasn't fooled by the same trick twice.
"It was nothing personal Mel. I just...I needed to get out."
"What's with the medallion?" She asked pointing to the silver, crescent moon shaped medallion he wore.
"That's none of your business," the boy said angrily, "And gimme my pants back before I forget you're a girl."
"As if you'd ever remember." She flung his pants at him and they landed on his face, God but she was a good shot, ace on the baseball team too.
"Can I have my wand back?" He asked.
"In the morning if you behave yourself. In the meantime, I'll be in the next room, Rick was kind enough to let me stay here as well. If you need anything...well, you know how to whistle, don't you, Ottery? You just put your lips together and blow." She smiled mischievously as she walked out the door.
Ottery smiled. He knew when he was beat. The better man and all that...even if it was a girl. But Mel was a doozy, she made him crazy sometimes. Aw, who was he fooling, she made him crazy all of the time. A kind of crazy he hadn't ever felt before. She was a swell dame but...trouble all the same, which is why he spent most of the night not sleeping...anticipating tomorrow's troubles, and adventures.

I love you all, so here's more story.

Ottery woke up very early the next morning, and donned his white suit and hat and surreptitiously walked over to the room Melissa was staying in. He picked the lock (T: Smart girl that one, never did trust you did she? O: *smacks Teddy*) and let himself into the room. Lying next to the door was a chair with her clothes neatly folded, Ottery smirked as he bent down to find his wand. If he was out of the cafe in the next twenty minutes he might be able to catch the 6:15 a.m. to anywhere. He really didn't care, he just didn't want to go back to Hogwarts, or into the hands of the Ministry of Magic, or even worse him.

"If you're looking for this..." she said as she stood by the bathroom door in a long silk rose nightgown twirling his wand in one hand. Ottery looked away blushing quickly. How was it she could always get the best of him lately? It had always been the other way around.

"You've taken Felix Felicis haven't you?" Ottery asked.

"You would think that wouldn't you Otts? You're such a boy, even if you're not. Why can't you just admit the better man won?"

"Because you're a girl!"

"It's nice of you to have noticed," she replied walking across the room to the seat next to the door. Ottery for his part was staring a hole into the floor trying not to look at her shapely form.

She met his eyes as she bent down next to him to get her clothes.

"It's okay Ottery, I'm harmless as a kitten. If a kitten's what you want."

"Mel, stop it!" He said. "You don't know...you don't..."

"I don't know anything Ottery because no one tells me anything. But you'd be surprised the things I don't know, from having heard them somewhere else, or sussed them on my own. I've got a mind too Ottery, not that you'd notice, distracted as you are by..." she smiled then, and Ottery blushed even harder if that were possible.

"I think I'll go wait outside," he said turning around and walking out. He looked up to find Carl walking by, the older man stopped wiped his glasses on his apron and gave Ottery a sly look. "It's not what you think!" The boy yelled, and just then the door behind him opened and Mel stood there, half her face covered by her long brown curls, and none of her nightgown covered at all.

"It's not?" She asked, kissing Ottery on the cheek and closing the door behind her.

"I didn't zee anyzhing," the old man said, "I didn't zee a zink."

Ottery sighed, buried his face in his hand and said, "I give up."

From inside her bedroom, Ottery was sure he heard Mel utter, "Good."

Ottery was waiting at the bar, Carl having fixed him a drink, a long, tall, cool glass of milk (T: With rum I bet, O: No...*blushing* well maybe a little) as he waited for Melissa downstairs. He was in a sour mood, but thankfully his milk wasn't because it would have just made things worst.

"You've got ze moose tash." Carl said, as he wiped a glass dry and set it behind the bar.

"There aren't any mooses in Africa, only camels, what are you on about now Carl?" Ottery asked, his temper getting the better of him (T: Because that never happens. LOL O: *blushing* I don't do it on purpose).

"Nozzing, nozzing at all." Carl said, pushing his glasses back on his face.

Ottery turned around at the sound of her sweet voice, (T: Clearly you're not talking about Mel O: *sarcastically* Naaaaaaaaaah? What gave me away?

) Sam was playing the piano, and the boys in the band were playing while Ella started singing.

Ottery smiled, there was something he could enjoy. He threw back the last of his drink when the smile on his face withered at seeing Mel walking down the stairs. She was smiling mischievously, which was never a good sign. Ottery slammed the glass down on the bar, grumbling at Carl to get him another one the same. He didn't exactly hate Mel, in truth he liked her a lot, but she could be sooooooooooooooooooo infuriating sometimes. And if she wasn't here to get him back for Dumbledore he might have enjoyed having her company...well in truth even when she was flirting he was enjoying her company.

"Sounds like they're playing our song cowboy," she said.

Ottery sighed. He was desperate, it was time for another tact. He turned on her and gave her his most pitying look, and she looked up at him and smiled (T: She so wasn't buying it, was she? O: HELLO, Let me tell the story Teddy! *sighs* T: Grouch. ).

"Look Mel, love. I know you don't really mean to be chasing after me and all."

"Oh, don't I?"

"Run away with me Mel. Who says you have to go back to Dumbledore. He's just a ruddy school teacher anyways," Ottery complained, taking a little of his frustrations out on his old DADA professor.

"Sounds like fun. Where too Otts?"

"South America. Argentina. I've always wanted to..." he stopped when he noticed the sad look in her eyes. "You're not going to go with me are you?"

"We've got work to do Ottery. I'm the only one they could spare from the Order. There's a war going on out there Ottery and it isn't just the Muggle War either."

The boy was pouting. Ottery took the glass and sent it flying across the room to smash on the wall. The happy music still playing in the background, Ella still singing, from the top of the stairs Rick watched smoking a cigarette.

"Smashing I say!" Mel said sarcastically.

"Has the war already reached Casablanca?" A cold German voice asked, petulantly.

"Oh great, first you Mel and now the Nazi's." Ottery said bowing his head.

"Hey!" She complained smacking him on the back of the head.

But there was something wrong, Ottery realized. The usual Gestapo goons were walking in but he recognized the figure of tall blonde haired, blue eyed wizard. But what the devil was he doing in Casablanca? (T: Well they do say everyone goes to Casablanca O:

), Ottery grabbed Mel by the arm.

"I never took you for the forceful type Ottery," she said mischievously then stopped reading the look on his face.
