| | |  The Chamber of Secrets
The Chamber of Secrets has been opened! ...but only through the secret passage from the Girls' Bathroom. If you've taken the plunge down the long and winding tunnel, you will have been dumped at the forefront of this cavern. Walk the serpent-lined entrance corridor if you dare, and you will emerge into the stunning hideaway designed by Salazar Slytherin himself.
The famed Chamber of Secrets is a massive, dimly lit vault far, far below the school and deeper even than the Black Lake. Towering stone pillars entwined with carved, wooden serpents reach toward a high ceiling lost in darkness. At the far end of this long room is a giant statue of the sneakiest of the school's founders, a statue which used to house a basilisk and only Merlin knows what other monsters. You may want to light your wand to see all the way to the statue and past the faint, greenish-glow gloom throughout this echoing cavern.
Explorers of the heir's lair: beware your step. No one really knows what's still here miles beneath the school's plumbing.

After what seemed to be forever, Lux arrived at the bottom of the slide. It hadn't been so bad besides the part when her butt had touched the hard ground at the start of the Chamber.
Getting to her feet, the redhead looked around curiously while not moving too far away from the tunnel. Best not to get lost down here because that would be scary.
Wanting to see better since it was so dim down here, Lux used Lumos to shine light around her. Everyone else would arrive soon. |

"So, umm...what's the plan to get back out of here?" she asked, hoping maybe the older kids knew this information and wouldn't mind sharing. Kate was already getting a little claustrophobic, and the sight of a staircase going upward wouldn't bother her in the least bit right about now. "I'm Kate, by the way," she added, wanting to at least get on a first name basis with the only other person down here. Was the Headmistress down here yet? Kate was starting to get a little scared. Wasn't this kind of thing for Gryffindors?

Kace did not do such a graceful landing. He rolled over and he began to dust off the dirt from his robes. He saw his hands were scratched a little bit from the abrupt landing. They would heal eventually. He wasn't worried. He finally made it down here. He was in awe with the surroundings. So this is where Harry Potter beat the basilisk. This was wicked! He saw Lux and the ravenclaw that went before him made it here. He walked over to his fellow puff and the new claw.
"Hey Lux.." he greeted her with a warm smile. "It seems a little creepy down here don't you?" he asked and looked around and got a little goosebumps going on the back of his neck. He nodded towards the claw and didn't know her very well. She looked familiar but her name escaped him. He wondered when the others were gonna show up.

The fall reminded him of one from a broom, the height or rather depth in this case being roughly the same. Benny did his best to try and prepare himself for what might come at the end of his journey, no doubt the bottom of the chute. The sight of light was scene before the floor came up to greet him, landing on his feet but nearly having to bounce as he worked to keep his balance.
"First steps a doozy..." he mused absently as he slipped his wand from his pocket and stepped forward away from the tunnel and towards the light that was Lux. "Lumos.." he cast, lighting his own wand to make it brighter in the deep recesses. His eyes trying to adjust to the change in light once more as his gaze flickered around the room they all found themselves in so far.

The pipes were G-R-O-S-S okay? Okay so this place was kind of dank and creepy and it was historic and oh my god there were serpent statues everywhere it was kind of awesome actually in its historical creepiness. “This is awesome” she grinned as she came to the end of the slide and began to slowly walk around the end of the slide.
“Lumos” she cast and tried to shed as much light as possible around the cavernous chamber. “I hope there’s no like acromantulas in here you know? Cause the Basilisk is gone they might have decided hey look a new home near a replenishing food supply” yes that was a creepy thought but it had to be stated right?
Acromantulas were only cool when they were the band. “Hey Kace, Lux” she grinned. Right…Kate had a good question… “we could cast sticking charms on our feet and climb up the slide?” Puck offered the solution though it probably would be tedious you know? Like take forever and a year.

Evie's squeal of delight and slight terror of what lie below echoed through the pipes as she slid down the slide after a few others. Her squeal was followed by a thud and a grunt as she made contact with the floor.
She carefully picked herself up and moved out of the way. Then she followed suit of the others and lit her wand to give her better light. Evie's eyes wandered all around the wide corridor looking at each of the serpents. Could she wander ahead? Because she was already doing so. She wanted to see EVERYTHING. She was in AWE, never before thinking that she would ever EVER be down here. And yet here she was. She was almost curious if it was a scam; if it was fake. How was it THIS easy to get down here? Did that kid even speak real parsletongue? | |

All thoughts of his ... whatever it was... was forgotten as he went SLIDING down deeper and deeper below the school. Zoooommgggg!!!!! Fun!!!!! Zeke was grinning, his fringe pushed back from the wind as he came flying out the end and into the cavern.
"Oooomph!" Hard landing. Ouch. Zeke stood and dusted off his palms as he got up from off the floor. He hadn't expected that.
As soon as he righted himself and realised he wasn't alone, the self-conscious feeling in the pit of his stomach returned. Maybe he'd just hang back a bit... resist the urge to run up ahead as he was just DYING to do.
... Awkward.

Toby's descent into the Chamber of Secrets was less than graceful, somehow. Really, all he was doing was sliding down a pipe; how could anyone possibly mess that up? Weeeeeelllllll, he managed it somehow. Nothing drastic, but when the Hufflepuff did eventually appear down in the entrance corridor, he tumble!rolled out of the pipe and hit the ground with a spectacular thud.
It didn't hurt (Toby was remarkably bouncy, after all), so the seventeen year old picked himself up off the ground and moved out of the way of the pipe, brushing himself off and squinting at his surroundings.
... Hmkay. Could barely see a thing.
"Lumos," Toby muttered, having retrieved his wand which he now held up high in the hopes of seeing a little further. "Is the basilisk skeleton still gonna be down here?" he asked the group already assembled at large, a hint of uncertainty in his voice that seemed to linger with the echo it made. Toby... wasn't sure he wanted to see something like that.

This was FUN! Except for the parts where Adi thudded lightly against the pipes' bends, it was a smooth ride. Oh yeah! He enjoyed every bit of that! Could they do that again, pleaseeeee? Hehe.
After he made his landing, Adi picked himself up from the floor, feeling grateful for the light cast by some of the wands. He followed suit before going to stand next to Benny. But he had heard Kate's question. ''There's probably another way out,'' he suggested. There had to be, right?
Anyway. Tobias had an interesting question too. "I dunno but I sure hope so.'' Anything creature related made this Puffer overly excited.

"--Beeeeellllooooooooooooooooooow!!!" The sliding was actually a bit fun once you put aside the fact that you were basically making a descent into who knows where. Anything could've been on the other side of the pipe. What if this Chamber of Secretive Stuff decided to disappear? Like the vanishing book last year... Or that mysterious vanishing room... Or his chocolate frogs... Things at Hogwarts had a tendency to disappear and --UMMMPPH!
Oh sweet Merlin. That was his bum.
WAIT A MINUTE. What was this place? Forget the aching bum!!! BLINK. BLINK. BLINK.
WOAH.
THE GIRL'S LOO WAS AWESOME!!! Could the boy's get a Chamber of Secretive Stuff too because really this was totally unfair!!! Except, Zander was too WOAH in awe to even bring that up that at this point.
Stil sitting in the same position that he landed in... Just staring. 'Cause woah. Also completely unaware that a few more people still had to slide down and maybe moving away from his position would've been a good idea. But no. Just woah.

Was it just him or was this slide actually pretty fun!? And why didn't the boy's bathroom have a slide like this huh? it was unfair!
As he slided down through the tunnels and towards the chamber of secrets , Kevin heard the others as they landed somewhere and when he came to the end of the slide he.......literally landed on top of Zander. Groaning in pain, the younger Gryffindor rolled himself off of him to the side. "you idiot" he mumbled as he crawled up, his knee was scraped from the fall but because his jeans was still intact he didn't noticed it until he stood up and winced in pain.

”Eeeeewwwwww” echoed down the slide, preceding the appearance of the tiny redhead. Brooklyn hadn’t exactly been able to control her slide, either, and the result was a slight problem of flying from the opening a foot or so to land in a heap on the floor. Thankfully missing the tangle of Gryffindors , but still…
“Ow,” she said, not caring who heard. That had hurt, but she still managed to get to her feet and brush herself off. There were probably going to be some bruises from that. She hoped not any scrapes. She hadn’t skidded on the stone floor or anything, just sort of landed awkwardly. She’d just pretend no one saw that. Yep. Nobody saw that.
Pulling her wand out, she said “Lumos”, adding that to the others’ wand lights. Time to see what she’d gotten herself into. She’d worry about getting back out later. Honestly, this sort of reminded her of the dungeons and the Slytherin common room, except way more of the snake décor. That and it was definitely more dark and mysterious. She wasn’t going to show the fear as to what might be down here. She didn’t get scared. There wasn’t icky swamp water down here, so she wasn’t going to get scared.

All the way down Hady didn't make a sound, that was until she came flying out of the opening hitting the floor awkwardly with a 'thud'.
Like OW! Seriously that had hurt but the small snakette still didn't make a sound as she carefully rose to her feet and went to pull out her wand. It was then that she noticed the throbbing pain in her hand and wrist. Frowning deeply she glanced at the source of the pain letting out a small huff.
Now wasn't the time for an injury even if it did hurt she wasn't one to complain about it. Using her other hand she pulled out her wand promptly muttering "Lumos" to add some light to where she was. Now that she was able to see she brought her arm to her chest holding it there with her better hand, keeping hold of her wand as well as she looked around.
It was dark, cold, dirty and gross but Hady didn't care one bit. All this made it even cooler to her as she slowly moved forward to where everyone else was. | |

Toby was still holding his wand high for the light and peering around, but at Adi's response to his question he glanced over in that direction. He hoped so? Really? The Hufflepuff made a face of discomfort, but with his face turned away again and in the dark of the underground corridor, it was most likely lost in the gloom. No dead skeletons today, pls. That would be too sad.
Or... err... no alive ones either. Because that would be sort of terrifying. Just no skeletons at all would be great.
As the passageway started to fill up with more people, Toby took a few more steps away from the group and peered down the passage. He was pretty eager to get exploring, and all thoughts of actually mapping out the place were gone.
"Has anyone been down here since the Battle of Hogwarts?" the sixth year spoke into the gloom, voice echoing off stone. "Like... ministry wizards or historians or anything?" Toby wasn't sure who he was asking, but if it had been this easy for them to come down here, it made him wonder just how explored this chamber was.

The Fifth Year matched Kevin's groan of pain with one of his own just as the younger boy rolled off. In hindsight... It probably wasn't a good idea to just sit around and admire the chamber. Ahem.
The older Gryffindor gave Kevin a very apologetic looks and a slight shrug of the shoulders. Uh, oops? "At least you landed on me," he let out another small groan as he got up himself and rubbed his arm (which was now sort of throbbing by the way). Zander Adair didn't get the pleasure of a soft landing... Unfortunately okay. Now uh, what was everyone else doing....?

Oh MAN. Why did he have to land on his BOTTOM?! Letting out a groan -- and losing all sense of cool while he was at it -- Grayson stood up slowly, rubbing that fantastic behind of his. He didn't care if this wasn't appropriate behaviour or whatever and only partly cared about the fact that there was that Cartographer guy here but that landing had HURT. His poor bottom, man.
It was only when Toby raised a question that the Slytherin lit his wand and took a proper look around the place. Jeez, this place was kinda weird, wasn't it? And kinda something out of an adventure movie where some overly brave person went off to explore some ruined place only to put their neck on the line. And if that was the case, Toby Fuller-Thompson, do NOT get yourself killed, mkay? Leave that to someone else, please.
Did he have a question? WELL. Why Salazar Slytherin had to be a creep and place the opening of the Chamber of Secrets beneath the GIRL's bathroom was one. Not that he minded since it had given him an excuse to peek around the bathroom and all.
LOL. Had Kevin landed on Zander? LOOOOOOOOL. Nice, boys, nice.

Standing back... in the shadows... cause no, no he did not bother with lumps since everyone else had. He would just linger back here, and watch. Watch because he'd lost the appetite to draw, and watch because he didn't want to deal with being with people right now.

In fact, he wasn't sure he wanted to watch them at all. Looking at them was just as bad as them looking at him.
So no. He would just.... STARE AT HIS FEET, a worthy way to pass the time in the Chamber of Secrets. No? Probably not, so he turned, and stared at the walls instead, extending a hand and feeling it along the way. Touching things was always nice. Touch touch touch.

THWUMP.
The professor landed as ungracefully as possible with a louder thudding sound than she would have liked. Perhaps it's time for a few more pushups in the mornings, she thought ruefully. Nevertheless she hauled her aching body out of the landing zone. The last thing she needed was a student landing on her. Once she'd gathered her wits about her, she stood and brushed off her robes, siphoning off the extra filth with her wand.
"Lumos."
Now what?, they were asking. "Now what? Go explore and sketch, of course!" Isn't that was what they came down here for in the first place?

There were more students coming now. First Puck and a Ravenclaw girl from his year...then Zeke and a Hufflepuff. Finally Adi joined him down there, Benny glancing at his best friend as the other boy came up beside him. As for the questions being voiced aloud in the group, the Gryffindor supposed they could still return the way they came with the use of magic if anything else failed. But it was the mention of the basilisk skeleton that had more of his attention like it did Adi causing him to nod in agreement.
Yeah...it would be cool to see that.
Zander and Kevin joined the group of explorers soon enough, one on top of the other and then his rider, the Slytherin girl named Brooklyn. At least this time she wasn't trying to avoid things that might be present in this underground lair by trying to climb him or anyone else for that matter.
Finally an adult in the form of the cartographer man whose name escaped him at the moment. Took one of them long enough, when firsties and younger students were more brave and eager then they seemed to be concerned for their charges safety. Standard bad teaching people outside the school sometimes complained about. The question posed by the older Hufflepuff caught his interest.
"I don't know..." he admitted truthfully. "Possibly..." It had to have gotten the interest of various people. Even if just to ensure everything was safe.

As more and more people landed down in the Chambed some much more pitifully then others, like herself. Stupid hard floor and stupid gravity. She still wasn't happy about the landing or her painfully throbbing wrist which she rubbed at lightly. The wrist no one else was going to know she landed on wrong.
Turning herself around to shine the light from her wand the other way she looked around. There really was a lot to see down here but that wasn't exactly what she was searching for. Where did he go? One moment they were talking to the ghost up in the bathroom and nudging each other laughing then the Chamber was open and Zeke jumped down...now she didn't see him. Finding him was essential so they could explore together!
Hady let her eyes roam over each person she saw. Nope. Nope. And no. Wait! There by the wall was the lion. A small grin broke out on her face as she made her way over to him lightly nudging him in the side with her elbow. "Hey, you alright?" She questioned softly. Maybe he was quiet cause he got himself hurt during the drop down or he was just taking it all in? | |

Adi had not missed Tobias's look. Not everyone thought like Adi and he knew that. "But maybe it's been decayed by now? Most of it, anyway.'' He added those statements is because his Housemate was probably already uncomfortable, judging by that look and Adi did not wish to further enhance that feeling.
And more persons were joining them! Had that really been Grayson shouting so loudly? LOL. The poor dude probably did not enjoy that. There was Professor Tanner too... giving them instructions already. "Come on,'' Adi said as he tugged on Benny's arm, leading them towards a random spot in the chamber.

Wheee! That was a short little journey, and Bunz popped out of the chute like she did this every day. The woman even managed to land on her feet, quite like a cat, as she started strolling down the corridor in her clicky-clacky heels. She lit her wand and cut ahead of a group of students, one of whom had a good question.

Because of everything going on, with more students and professor's sliding down that tunnel and look , even psychomankiller had joined them, Kevin had not really been looking around. And when he did his jaw slightly dropped at the sight of the room. He took back his thought that girl's bathroom had been a dissapointed because this was AWESOME!
EXPLORING TIME~! He got his notebook ready and with a slight limbed walk he went to the first snake statue. He was kind of dissapointed they hadn't been the first group to explore this area after the battle. He then decided to leave the group because he worked better alone and walk further to the end of the room. It was getting darker around him and the boy waved his wand to get some light.
He forgot about mapping the room for now and just walked to the end of the room to see the huge statue up close.
