| | Ministry of Magic Voting Polls
Set up in a quiet area of the library, as if there was any other kind of area in a library, is a Ministry of Magic voting booth for the current election between Brennan Cooper, current Minister for Magic, and Reagan Taylor, the Senior Undersecretary. The booth is lined with curtains for privacy and inside is a small shelf, upon which rests the voting ballot and a self-inking quill.
A table beside the booth has the following sign resting upon it: Quote:
Only students who are both seventeen years of age AND in their seventh year of study at Hogwarts are eligible to vote in the current election, as per the Ministry of Magic. Hogwarts Staff are also encouraged to vote at this polling station. To prevent underage students from voting, an age line has been established surrounding the booth. Any students who attempt to evade the age line and cast a vote will have their name recorded by the Department of Magical Education.
Next to the first sign is a second sign, which reads: Quote:
Students ineligible to vote in the official election are encouraged to vote in a mock election held by your School. Please write the name of your choice of candidate on a piece of provided parchment and place it within the box behind this sign.
Don't forget to pick up a sticker on your way out! OOC: Students must be 17 years old AND in their 7th year in order for their vote to be counted in the election. We will be verifying the eligibility of all votes, so please follow the rules. To vote, please click the link for the ballot and fill out the entire questionnaire, then submit. For those who have younger characters, please cast your vote for Minister for Magic by choosing your favorite candidate in the poll attached to this thread.
All students, of age or not, can RP themselves finding the polls and the signs and either voting in the booth or in the mock election.
Please note that students/staff who have of-age School characters AND Ministry/DA/DP characters are allowed to vote twice (once for each character). The School character vote must come from the School ballot, while the Ministry characters can come from either of two threads (one in Diagon Alley and another in the Ministry). See question 6 on the ballot. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Sloane W. Fordyce First Year | Cheesy Mac Professor Shackleton entered the library swiftly and with one sole purpose - to cast her vote for Minister. She'd met both candidates in the past and knew exactly which one she didn't want to see win this election. Of course, even if she hadn't held a grudge against one, she still would have voted for the other. In her eyes, that person was just a better candidate.
She quickly spotted the voting booth from across the library and made her way toward it. She first read both signs, then entered the booth, closing the curtain behind her. She read over the ballot, contemplating her decision for each question carefully before making her choice with the provided quill. After reviewing her ballot twice to ensure that no errors were present, Macadrian deposited the parchment into the proper locked receptacle, laid the quill back down on the shelf, and exited the booth.
Spotting the 'I Voted' stickers on the table, Macadrian quickly grabbed one, adhered it to her robes, and made her way toward the library shelves for a new book.

This particular area of the school was foreign to Max. Yes, he was smart. Yes, he was a Ravenclaw. Yes, he knew how to read. But today marked the second time in his entire life that he set foot in the Hogwarts Library. As a student, the massive double-doors and a very stern-looking Madame Rowena scared the dickens out of him, so he paid his twin brother Marcus to check books out for him. It worked out fine, even though his older brother Rex threatened to lock him inside the Library after curfew, and that thought was scarier than being locked in a dungeon cell with Professor Kazimeriz and being offered a cup of tea before the punishment would commence. And yes, I think I'm the only wizard who can taste or smell Veritaserum in a beverage.
So he took another step in the foreign room and walked over to a familiar looking polling booth. It looked harmless, but it reeked of official Ministry-ness and that equalled the repulsive smell of Cooper. Max looked quickly to see if anyone was watching him and took a deep breath before disappearing into one of the vacant polling booths. He was only in there for a few seconds and
emerged, gasping for air as he left the Library. It was done. Let the reign of King Idiot end once and for all.

| YesJess! | Captain Goggles | Mama Badger | Eva's Soul Sister | An OG™ | It's all in the Numbers Dominic knew he wasn't of age to be able to vote in the official election as he still had about ten months until he would turn seventeen, but he still wanted to go through the process of voting. Entering the library, which was perhaps only the fifth time he had entered this part of the school in the past two years as a student of Hogwarts, he instantly spotted the voting booth he was looking for along with several signs near it. Excellent! The rumor about a mock election wasn't a rumor at all! It was truth!
Thinking on the two candidates, the sixth year knew already who he would want to vote for Minister. Scribbling down his choice on the parchment provided, he folded it twice and then dropped it into the box behind the sign. Spotting the 'I voted' stickers - even if only in the mock elections - he took one and adhered it to his robes just above his Prefect badge to spread the word for others to come vote too. Dominic then quickly exited this area of the Library and disappeared off by the study tables to work on some long overdue homework.

From announcements and convos floating around in the school, Selena gathered that the voting ballot was going on - and Hogwarts even set up a mock voting. Knowing that she is not of age, and which should be a verrrrry long time until that, the girl scribbled "Reagan F. Taylor" on a piece of parchment and placed it inside the box. Down with Cooper, hopefully. She put the pen down and strolled over to the Quidditch area of the library, looking for a certain book. "Quidditch Through The Ages" haven't been out of her reading list yet, and this will be a good thing.

Antonio walked into the library to cast his vote. He had decided long ago that Cooper had been the Minister a little too long and it was time for a change, and he had a pretty good feeling that there were many other people who were in agreement with him. Hopefully, they would have a new Minister soon, a definite breath of fresh air.
Antonio picked up the quill which had been provided to him and scrawled the name "Reagan Cooper" on the parchment, then carefully placed it in the voting box. He felt happy, like he had done something really important and meaningful as he walked out of the booth.

Reid sighed when reading the rules for voting. This sucked. He was of age but because he wasn't a seventh year he couldn't vote. Pouting slightly he walked over to a mock voting booth and wrote down his answer on the parchment. It was for the best candidate that he was voting. Even if that candidate didn't have experience as a minister he liked her ideas. Therefore after dropping his vote into the box he had no regrets for voting Taylor.

| Shoe!Girl │ Rebel Ravie │ Confundus Queen │ RP Addict Walking into the library, for once not thinking about the flooding, Elizabeth blinked as she saw how it had basically been turned into a polling place. It hadn't exactly slipped her mind that there was an election going on this term, she just hadn't really thought it would come all the way to Hogwarts. Especially with all the craziness in the castle.
Walking over to the signs hanging up, she looked at them curiously, feeling a little weird about even thinking about voting, since she was still technically not living in England. But she had pretty much decided that she was moving here after graduation, not in the least just so she wasn't as far away from certain people, and so, she determined she should still have a say. Plus, she'd been seventeen for months now, and the rules stated that seventh years who were seventeen could vote. She passed those requirements, so she slipped into the official booth, picking up the quill that was inside as she looked at the ballot. Narrowly avoiding chewing on the end of the quill as she thought about her vote, she finally scribbled her choice down. Placing the parchment in the ballot box, she tok a breath and then exited again, retrieving one of the stickers on her way toward the bookshelves and sticking it discreetly to the strap of her bag.

| curly haired prefect - "sometimes I get angry!" - 30/90 - *chicken emoji* - probably @ Disney - I speak dog Hmpf. Jack was incredibly angry with his birth date right now. He wanted to be able to vote SO badly, but he was just a year too young, which didn't matter anyways since one had to be a 7th year to vote as well. Even though it was almost a certain victory for Taylor (cause seriously, did ANYONE like Cooper?) he would have still liked to be able to say that he had had a helping hand in getting her elected to office. But no--he had to settle for the mock election that Hogwarts as holding. Le sigh.
Heading over to the mock election box, Jack grabbed a quill and parchment and quickly wrote his candidate of choice down before dropping it in the box with the others. With one last longing glance at the voting booth, he hurried out of the library and back to class.

Chris Potter walked into the voting area that the Ministry had set up in the Library. He hadn't heard about it, but knew the Elections were coming up soon. So when he was looking for a new book to read he noticed them, and couldn't pass up the opportunity.
He was a bit disappointed when he read the first sign saying the age restriction, but his spirits rose when he saw that Hogwarts was having a mock election for underage students to participate in. He walked over to the Mock Election booths and went in.
After closing the curtain, he picked up the piece of parchment that was awaiting his vote and he thought. He had heard alot about Minister Cooper and didnt really agree with his views on things. And he really didnt like the school seperation idea he had heard about that had happened before he came to Hogwarts. He definately didnt want that to happen again. So picking up the parchent he wrote the name of his selected candidate, Reagan Taylor.
He left the booth with a smile, and though to himself, 'Hopefully everyone else will agree with me that it's time for change.' |

Hogwarts RPG Name: TBD Gryffindor Hogwarts RPG Name: Zara H. Bunbury-Foster Slytherin Fifth Year | Professor Pink | Mrs. Bruce Wayne | I'm on a Goat | Glitterpuff | Dumbledore's Defense Squad | BHB Like a loyal British citizen she was, Professor Bunbury entered the library to cast her vote for THE election. This was a huge deal, to her, because it was like a popularity contest that she couldn't enter. Whatever, Brennan still deserved to win. He was cute, charming, his wife owned the Prophet, and who even knew or cared what the opposition was doing. Annie had heard that it was some woman or another - ughhhhh. Women who liked politics were just weird, in her opinion.
The redhead stepped up to the voting booth and read through the questionnaire, marking her answers carefully and deliberately. Wouldn't want Cute Cooper to lose just becuase her quill slipped.
There, now she was done. Checking over her answers one last time, Anastasia sealed the ballot and dropped it into the proper box. She clicked out of the library and grabbed a sticker on her way out - not likely that she'd bother wearing it (it probably left residue on the robes) but now she had proof of doing her citizen duties.

Lyra made her way into the little voting place as she was going to make a voice of her own opinion, or at least try to do so. That Cooper man just seemed...mean and well the Reagan lady looked a little more glamorous than any other person running and well, style was just everything to her. The more stylish you were, the better off you were, the better attitude she had. She made her way up to the ballot box and placed her vote, then turned and walked off with a sense of confidence.

Being eighteen-years-old definitely had its privileges. One of those privileges, of course, being the right to vote in the current Ministry of Magic election. Granted, Anna wasn't as much into all this voting stuff as her parents were (especially her mother), but hey, sparing a few moments to stroll in and check a few options on a voting ballot was the least she could do, right? Besides, all the professors were coming in and voting, and she sort of felt all cool and stuff getting to participate in something they were also doing.
As soon as she walked in, she took notice of the two signs on the table just beside the voting booths. She read them both carefully, not wanting to miss any vital information. She was certainly eligible, per sign one, and sign two didn't apply to her. Looked like she was good to go, then! She slid into an empty booth and closed the curtain behind her. She was a little nervous reading the ballot, as she was a first-time voter, but she was confident that it wouldn't be all that hard. When she was sure her mind was made up, she grabbed the provided quill and marked all her choices. There. That hadn't been all that difficult. Her parents surely would be proud. Cale, too, really. She reviewed her ballot, deposited it, then exited the booth. As she walked out, she grabbed an "I Voted" sticker and placed it proudly on her school uniform.

| Vanessa the Snot Girl l Rachels Rule | rock, tumble,&roll ❆ adorable coffee bean Ooh. Voting time. Tehe. It was a good thing being a seventh year. Vanessa made her way towards the library, ready to make her vote, although she really did not know what she was doing, for the had obviously not voted before in her life, mainly because she hadn't been old enough.
Walking into the library, Vanessa wandered over to the voting area thingy. Now who to chose?
After a few moments, she folded her ballot paper up and placed it into the box

Mock election?! Pfffft. How...silly.
However, at least this was something...if only they'd waited after the summer she'd be voting for real! For real!
Anyway, she went over to the silly mock box, which could totally be fake for all she knew and cast her vote on that before leaving.

Gahhh... stupid underage policy. If only she was seventeen and in her seventh year. Livvy envied ALL seventeen-year-old seventh years at Hogwarts. So lucky. They had a say in the whole election. Oh well.... maybe next time. She loved the feeling of power. MUAHAHA...........
The fifth year made her way to the mock booths. All she could do was participate in the mock election. It might be fun too though. Her opinion would be shared too. Sort of.
Livvy walked towards the booths and went in, all the while thinking of who she would vote for. Both candidates were very fine people, and they both had excellent points. But who would she vote for? Hmm.... Livvy pondered and then scribbled down the name. She folded the piece of parchment and dropped it into the box, a tad bit hesitantly. Grinning, she walked out of the library and to class.

Bedecked in hat 'n glasses, Kapoor made his own theme music and glanced around suspiciously for that rascal of a Charms Professor. He'd had seven years of opportunistic moments having been played for all they were worth by his tricky friend and it caused him some... well, it couldn't exactly be called post-traumatic stress disorder or anything, but definately some due caution was close at hand whenever major descisions and privacy booths were involved.
He ducked into the booth and without hesitation, marked off his choice. Dipping out of the booth, he took a sticky charmed sticker and applied it to his shirt. There. Now he felt descisive and opinionated.

Daphne stood tall as she walked past all the younger students who couldn't vote in the election. She had read about the debates in the Prophet and made up her mind on all the important issues. She waited alongside some professors, nervously tapping her foot in anticipation. Finally her turn came and she entered the booth.
After a few minutes, she double checked her markings before emerging from the polls. She folded up her parchment ballot and dropped it into the box. She proudly took one of the stickers and strolled out of the library.

| Technically technical all the time Bookaholic After a harrowing few hours attempting to find the booths (how a Ravenclaw could have trouble finding the library is something he had been attempting to figure out since the moment he first found it, he didn't know) Pepe finally arrived to cast his vote. It was a no brainer. He had been working under Cooper for years.... Once the vote was cast, he quickly fled from the library. Very odd that he didn't want to stay......
