Default Library Bookshelves

A large number of floor-to-ceiling bookcases fill up the library, creating aisles upon aisles of books available for students to read and browse. To make finding books for all years a little easier Mr Kitridge has divided the bookshelves into sections like romance, suspense, crime, history, plants and fungi etc.

To return books just walk up to the appropriate shelf and hold up the book. The gripping charm in place on the shelves will take a hold of the book. When you feel a tug on the book let go and the book will fly up and find its right place amongst the other books on the shelves. When retrieving a book you can use the sliding ladders or if you feel confident with your magic you can use a simple accio charm to retrieve the book you want.

In front of each aisle there is small set of desks which students can use to complete homework, copy notes, take book references or chat. Keep your voices down and be mindful of falling books and other students accessing books around you.

Happy reading and learning!

Something told her that asking any of these questions would only earn her more looks from the blonde boy and looks weren't exactly telling, especially if you were as confusing a human as Noel Wallace was.

"Okay." That was her response as she placed Lamb on the floor in front of him and stood, smoothing out her clothing. "I'll see you around, then. Bye." And because SHE refused to be the one left sitting in the aisle, she wandered off FIRST.
Noel could not even look at her. He still had that frown and he still had those images in his head. He did not like it.

When she got up, ready to leave - Noel concentrated on staring at the ground. Because yeah.

Lamb waggled his tail and looked up at Maddie clearly confused, and his owner just sat ignoring.

"Bye" he simply said - waiting for her to turn around and leave.

Kace decided to go to the library and see if he could find his personal sketchbook. I mean he was always here to sketch and relax his mind. He had his crystal with him and I guess it was time to ask the questions. He asked, "Is my sketchbook in the book shelves?" He concentrated which wasn't hard to do since everyone was busy cramming for their exams. As he waited and waited his crystal began to move. It was moving back and forth and that meant a no. He puckered his lips and then he thought of another idea.

"Is my sketchbook on the tables?" he asked. Then he waited a bit more and the crystal moved back and forth. Hmm no? He wondered if this book was in here at all. It didn't seem like it. He was wondering where else it could be? He was gonna check the great hall next and see.

The thing with libraries... was that they were BIG places, with LOTS of hiding places. LOTS of them.

...

Zeke wasn't feeling optimistic, not one bit. He did however, put on a face full of determination, and strode deeper into the labyrinth of knowledge and learning and fancy words... it had to be here somewhere... or was it?

Turning to his crystal again, Zeke held it carefully in front of him, and thought about their surroundings and his compass.

"Is my compass on a bookshelf?" he asked, hoping it would eliminate the majority of the room. And that it did. The crystal swung on its string, from one direction to the other, and not in a circle. It was all straight lines. No. Not on a shelf.

"Is my compass on a study desk?" he asked the crystal once more. Again the answer was no. Not on a desk.

"Is my compass on the floor?" he asked, still focusing on the library and his treasured belonging.

He didn't understand why it could have been or would have been on the floor... but it wasn't so he didn't have to worry so much.

But... if it wasn't on a shelf, or desk, or the floor... where could it be?

On a chair? A couch? Were there cabinets he didn't know about? Zeke moved on, needing to look around to get some more ideas of what to ask.
