In the library close to the beautiful stained glass windows Mr Kitridge has cleared a section of the floor and pushed back some book cases to allow for a big circle of bean bags in all colours of the rainbow. Around and inside the circle Leo has put up large stone pots that give off light and warmth to fight the grim winter season. Sitting on an orange bean bag, reading an edition of the morning's prophet is Mr Kitridge; with his own copy of 'Fantastic Beast’s and Where to Find them' lying beside him on the floor.
OOC: Welcome! Come on in and take a seat on a bean bag of choice. Keep chatter to a minimum. The meeting will start in approx 15 hours from this post.
~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.
Adi was pleased when he found out about the upcoming book club meeting. He was even more pleased that they had to bring their copy of Fantastic Beasts. It was one of his favourite books.
Stepping into the Library, the first thing he noticed was the warmth. Whew! At least they won't be suffering through the bitter cold. "Hi, Mr. Kitridge,'' Adi said with a smile as soon as he spotted the Librarian.Looks like he was the first student to arrive. "How are you?'' In the meanwhile, he selected a blue beanbag and made himself comfortable.
Kace was excited for this book club. He actually had the book this time. He had it his backpack. He smiled when he saw the librarian. He smiled and said, "Hello Mr. Kitridge. I love the book you choose this time around." he nodded. He seemed to be the first one here. So he had an infinite amount of choices for bean bag chairs. He picked one in the center. He sunk in and got out his drawing pad and started to doodle. He waited for the others to come in. He hoped Lux, Emmy, Cinnamon or Bay would show up. He saw Adi there as well. He nodded toward his fellow puff and smiled. "Hey Adi!" he gave him a wave.

It was book club meeting time, and AJ was swinging her own copy of the required book in her hand. The first year liked to read if it was something that interested her, and beasts did the trick.
As she walked in she noticed the warmth, and while it didn't take all the cold away, it sure did help the situation. "Hello sir. I'm AJ Valentine." She had never met that man before so introductions were a must.
Turning to see where to sit, her eyes locked on Adi. It was him and one other student so there was no way to play off not seeing him. Regardless of how she felt she couldn't be rude to her friend. He technically didn't do anything to her. Not being able to get her mouth to work, she gave him a slight wave. AJ chose a red bean bag to sit herself on.

Yay, there was another book club meeting. Beaming, Lux entered the library with her copy of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. This was a very interesting book, and she was happy to discuss it with other people.
"Hello, Mr. Kitridge. How are you today?" Oh, and there was Adi and Kace as well. "Hey, guys! Isn't this a great book?" She couldn't wait to get started as she took a seat by the two boys.
Lucy made her way to the Library.
She tought:"A book club...it's a wonderful idea!!!!
Hello Mr. Kitridge! I' m Lucy Petersfield. It's my first year at Hogwarts! "
Then she took a free seat and she smiled at her classmates..
To hang out with Professor Thompson or show loyalty to her Head of House? As one who would normally go to both clubs' meetings, Sophie was torn today, unsure of which to attend. Javy's meeting was likely the choice of anyone trying to make the decision she had to make, as his topic was likely to be far more useful and engaging than a book club meeting about Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. But then, both meetings were about creatures - why didn't they all just combine forces? Have Thompson talk about whatever he wanted to talk about and Kitridge give his input of examples from the book? Why did the students have to choose today?
When Sophie entered the library, she hadn't decided which meeting to attend yet. She had her copy of Fantastic Beasts in hand, just in case she decided upon that one, but she stood perplexed by the door, eyeing both parties. She was drawn to the stone pots of warmth, pleased that those at the book club meeting wouldn't be freezing like they would pretty much everywhere else in the school, and smiled at her Head of House as she neared him by the stained glass windows cautiously. Carefully. Not deciding whether to stay yet or not.
"G'day, Mr. Kitridge," she greeted, casually glancing around at everyone who showed up for his meeting so far - all Gryffindors and Hufflepuffs. No Ravenclaws, his own house. Sigh. She felt obligated, then, to stay and boost his spirits and give him less of a reason to be disappointed in his Ravenclaws - regardless, she looked longingly over at Thompson's group for a few long moments - then turned back to Kitridge, giving him a sort of sad smile. "Since both meetings are involving creatures, you and Professor Thompson shoulda collaborated. I hate choosing." But as she said it, she plopped onto a purple beanbag chair right by her Head of House, clearly having made her choice, and gave Kitridge a bigger smile. "But this is obviously the place to be." See? Loyal as could be.
Though she was surrounded by the warmth of the pots at the moment, her toes felt ice-cold and she wiggled them in her shoes, taking the liberty to remove her wand from its holster and cast the hot-air charm at them while waiting for the meeting to begin. Totally savvy of her, but she stole another glance over at Thompson's group - there'd probably be so many of her peers choosing that group that she could easily find out what information he gave them later, yeah? No biggie.

Bay bounced into the room with his books in hand.. "Hello Mr. Kitridge" he said as he went over to go sit beside Lux and Kace.. and he even spotted the Ravenclaw girl that just kicked his butt lately in Gobstones. "hey guys" he beamed as he was now fully comfortable.
Her hands very full, Nessa smiled and thanked the student who opened the library door for her. She was carrying two trays, one in each hand - one filled with many different types of finger sandwiches and the other with lidded cups of hot chocolate. She knew that normally Mr. Kitridge did not allow food and drink in the library, but he had made an exception for her the book club.
"Hello, students!" she sang as she weaved past them to set the trays down at the table pulled off to one side near the bean bag chairs. "I hope you're all staying warm!" Goodness, this had been a winter like no other and it didn't seem to be getting any better. Only worse. Maybe the hot chocolate would warm them up.
She turned to take a seat in one of the squishy bean bags when she noticed another group at the other end of the library. What was... hey. Was Javy holding a creatures club whatever meeting at the same time and stealing their thunder? "Well.." she huffed under her breath. But she soon decided that it was a simple scheduling misunderstanding.. it had to be!
The brunette put on her beaming smile and turned to the group assembled for the book club. "Help yourself to some snacks!" She grabbed a little club sandwich and cup of hot chocolate for herself, then plopped right down in the purple bean bag chair next to Leo. Then she pulled out her copy of Fantastic Beasts from her tote bag and set it on her lap. "Almost ready to get started?" She was so looking forward to this!

See people this is why you pick the meeting thingy that was indoors.. "thank you Professor" he said as he got up and grabbed a sandwich or two and a cup of hot chocolate as well.. then he made his way back to his seat with his warm toasty sweater on and an awesome book… who cares about the creatures right now if you could read about them… it was way to cold outside.. and whoever did outside was crazy and they would most likely get sick.
"I'm all good to go" he said as he wiggled a little bit more in his bean bag chair.

Hello, boyfriend! Lux smiled and waved at Bay as he joined them. "Aren't you excited for this meeting to start?" she asked him before Professor Glendower arrived. "Hello, Professor!" And were those sandwiches and cups of hot chocolate? "Now this is what I call a book club!"
Getting to her feet, Lux grabbed a few of the sandwiches as well as one of the hot chocolates. "Thank you for the snacks!" What a nice woman she was. All these club meetings were giving out food and drinks lately. Lux was all for this. Happily she sat down in her bean bag chair again and began to eat.

Oh looky. The second person to turn up was no other than fellow Puffer, Kace. "Hiya, buddy,'' Adi said cheerfully. It had been a while since he had gotten time to speak to the other boy. "How's it going?''
Adi looked around at the sound of that all too familiar voice. AJ. He wondered if she would ignore him again. But to his surprise she didn't. He got a wave. The gesture took him aback but he managed to return the greeting. The third year watched her take a seat. He wanted to go sit next to her or poke her or make jokes like they usually would but he figured things were still weird between them. Yeah. They needed more time apart.
"Hey, Lux!'' Adi returned his fellow third year's greeting. And there was a Gryffindor sixth year. "Hi, Bay.'' The arrival of the History of Magic Professor did not surprise the Hufflepuff one bit. She seemed to be practically everywhere these days. "Hello, Professor.'' Hungry? Yes, it was safe to say he was. He grabbed a sandwich and a cup of hot chocolate. "Thanks, Professor.'' Om Nom Nom. Delicious sandwich.
And suddenly, the room was lit brightly as if it was storming outside . . . but a closer inspection from the windows would reveal it was a wand shooting sparks. Before dying out, the sparks also illuminated a shadow of a human fleeing inside . . . who would go out while it was too cold to breathe outside?

Finally other people were starting to show up, but it didn't help her much because it wasn't anybody that she knew. A few people looked familiar but not familiar enough to talk to. AJ wasn't really in the mood to hold a conversation anyways.
Was it just her or was Adi acting like he didn't expect her to acknowledge him? Was this weirdness going to wear off anytime soon? AJ caught his wave but instead of smiling or showing any emotion she looked down at her book and flipped the pages pretending to be enraptured in the story.
Thankfully the history of magic professor walked in and AJ turned her attention on the woman. "Hello professor." She was still AJ's favorite all because she showed her that awesome spell. FOOD! Abandoning her beanbag, she walked over to the table and grabbed some cocoa that felt so good in her hand. She also snagged some food.
Just as she was about to take a sip of her cocoa the room lit up so bright that her eyes hurt. The first year was completely caught off guard and her cocoa slipped right out of her hands, and landed in her lap. "Ouch!" It was still pipping hot and it burned her. She was soaked in hot cocoa and wishing that she had never come to this meeting in the first place.
Wait a minute... was that a shadow?

After taking a sip of her hot chocolate, Lux set it on the ground so that she could start eating these delicious sandwiches. It didn't take her long to finish them, and she was about to grab more when there was a sudden FLASH of light.
Caught off guard, she screamed as she saw the shadow. Terrified, she rushed over to Bay and clung to him so that he could protect her. She was not brave, and she was scared. She wanted Bay to protect her from whatever was lurking here.

Ugh! Adi knew it was too good to be true. There AJ was, ignoring him again. Fine by him. He could do it too. He sipped his hot cocoa and idly stared around the library, looking anywhere but in the direction of that particular first year.
Adi was startled when the room was suddenly illuminated. His eyes roved around, searching for the source. He caught sight of a figure...a human figure outside.Huh? What was that all about? But he was distracted by AJ's cry. "Are you okay?'' Adi called over to her without thinking.
Sophie was more startled by everyone's reactions in the library (those kids over at the other meeting sure were dramatic, weren't they?) more than the actual flash of light itself - of course, when it happened, it caught her attention and she peered at the stained glass window near them with curiosity. That was... undeniably fishy, but soon enough she was looking at the other people in the circle instead. "Everyone breathe," was her lame attempt at easing the situation, giving everyone a skeptical sort of look. But then Lux got a sad expression out of Soph, as the poor girl seemed terrified, and then when the Ravenclaw saw the tragedy that was AJ, Soph pointed her wand away from her own shoes and instead at the hot chocolate all over the Gryffindor, "Scourgify." Rotten luck.
If Sophie had just been scalded by a hot beverage, she would've been shouting 'ouch,' too. And maybe some select other words.
So... that was weird. She peeked over at the other group - Cat and Mo could be seen. Well. Good. At least if something bad was about to happen, Mo and Cat were there to make it all better as they always did.

smiling at Lux while they both sipped there hot chocolate as they waited to start they saw a flash of light and then Lux screamed… she was hugging him in like a second flat..
Hugging her tightly he looked over at the history of Magic Professor.. "miss.. what was that… did anyone else see that?" he said while Sophie seemed to be all over this.. Patting Lux on her shoulders he got up.. "its okay stay.. here.. Maybe with the little lion over there?" as he moved over towards Sophie and the Professor.. "what should we do?" his wand was already in his hand as his heart start to pound…
what could it be… deep down inside he had a feeling… but he dare not voice it just yet.

Hugging Bay was nice, but Lux didn't want him to leave. He was supposed to stay here with her all safe, not wander off! "Where are you going, Bay?" she asked all worried. She didn't want anything to happen to him!!
Staying where she was, she was starting to worry even more. She had a bad feeling about what was going on here, and she didn't want anything to happen to Bay. Sophie was trying to control the situation, and she offered the girl a smile, but that didn't mean she felt any better about this.

Hot. The cocoa was so hot. Several things happened at once and AJ was having a hard time trying to process everything. Minus the whole burning sensation that she felt on her lower half, the most pressing thing was that Adi had actually spoken to her. Completely caught off guard she answered him. "Burnt, but fine." Forgetting for a second that they weren't really on speaking terms she couldn't help, but to keep talking. What do you think that was?" Or who? It was then that she remembered their awkward conversation, and she promptly shut up.
Awww, somebody actually took action, and came to her rescue. AJ remembered Sophie from potions. "Thanks Sophie B!" Good looking out. It still stung where the cocoa hit her, but she was all clean, and good to go.
Stepping into the Library, the first thing he noticed was the warmth. Whew! At least they won't be suffering through the bitter cold. Leo hadn’t read many pages in the prophet before the first student arrived. Looking up he beamed sunnily. "Good morning Adi. I’m quite well. How are you?"

When Nessa arrived with refreshments and food Leo groaned inwardly. He had made an exception from his rule about food and drink because the sweet history of magic professor had insisted. "Hello Professor Glendowner," Leo greeted with a sunny smile as she grabbed the bean bag next to his. "Yes, I was just about to kick things off."
Clearing his throat to attract attention he said with a glance around at the assembled students. "Welcome everyone to this term book club meeting and a special welcome to Professor Glendower who has graciously agreed to help me with this day’s meeting." Picking up the CoMC book he held it up. "Today's topic of discussion is 'Fantastic Beast’s and where to find them' by Newt Scamander. A book you all rely on to give you information big and small about creatures you encounter or want to learn more about during your schooling here at Hogwarts. Do you guys all like the book? Think its useful in your CoMC studies or do you dislike it if so why?"

Leo was waiting for responses from the student's when the whole room was lit up like a lighthouse and a glance over at the windows showed shooting sparks overhead. Was someone in trouble? Looking around first at Nessa and then at the student's he asked "Did anyone else see the sparks in the sky outside?"

Fantastic beasts and where to find them eh.. Funny how the other meeting was about magical creatures. Raising his hand he said "sir.. The book it amazing, it gives you pictures and diagrams and most of the good tips as well " nothing wrong with a good old fashion picture book heee heeee heeee.
And that's when the crazy stuff happened.
Okay thank goodness he wasn't the only person who saw the sparks. Moving over towards the awesome librarian. "sir.. I saw the sparks as well "
~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.
Adi just shrugged at AJ's question. He wasn't feeling talkative right now. At least not to her. But he was glad she was okay.
Alright then. Mr. Kitridge was getting things started. Adi polished off his sandwich then took a sip of his hot chocolate as he listened to the Librarian. Raising his hand, the Puffer said, ''It's one of my favourite books. I think it's very useful and in my opinion the least boring of our text books.'' Yep, yep.
It was no surprise Mr Kitridge notice the strange happenings too. "I think I saw the outline of someone...''
Fantastic beasts and where to find them.
Lucy said:"The book is interesting and useful to study the magical creatures but is too concise"..Then Lucy continued telling "Yes sir.. I saw the sparks "
Before Kace could answer his question, he turned his head and saw the sparks. He gave the window a quizzical look. Okkkaayyy....that was weird! Where did the sparks come from!? Was it a student playing a prank on them? It could be. "Professor you don't think a student could be pulling a prank on us?" he asked. I mean it is not a bad assumption right? But onto the professor's question.
He raised his hand and said, "Professor I really like this book. It is quite comical and gives you great advice on how to deal with monsters plus their descriptions. There are some monsters I never encountered before and it is nice to know what they look like." he nodded.
