A stone square courtyard is the first aspect of the grounds that you come to after you travel through the corridor. Surrounded by magnificent stone columns adorned with luscious ivy and slight lily growth, the courtyard provides students with benches to sit on with their friends or for the one who just wishes for some peace and quiet. Also, in the middle stands a very illustrious Wishing Fountain.
Maxwell put a hand on hers. "You do...why do you think i try to be so kind to you...you're hard because you've had to be. But you don't have to be with me...I'm on your side." He said hoping that might help a little, he wanted her trust.
"Who am i gonna tell?" he asked with a soft expression. "I'm sorry, do you want me to help you get rid of her?" He asked with a smirk, hoping some mischief would cheer her up.
All the sudden, Elliot was filled with an intense desire to HUG MAXWELL.
YES, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, ELLIOT WANTED TO HUG.
This date should be recorded in history forever and always. She flung her arms around him and gave him a hug. "This sounds really sad...but I think this is the first hug I've ever given someone..in my life." And it was probably true. Sure, her sisters hugged HER, and her friends...but Elliot didn't hug bag.
She wasn't a puffer! Or a teddy bear! So there!
"Yes. We should come up with a plan!" that would sooo totally work, because they were both geniuses. And all.

Maxwell hugged her back, rubbing her back a little. "That's not sad...some people aren't huggers..." He said knowing he normally wasn't one. "But i'm honored."
"Okay, good. I think a good old fashion rebellion is in order...maybe i'll take a few pages from the early Americans...or even the Marauders.."
She let go of him and scooted away, quickly, so that they were facing each other. None of that hugging business again, no no NO! "I'm done being cute now." Can she be scary again?
"Hmm...oh yeah, you Americans didn't like us being all controlling..." Ha! "And rebelled...I guess. How can I rebel, though?" By doing badly in school? That wasn't an option, NO WAY! Maxwell seemed to be pro, though...he could help?!

Maxwell smirked and nodded. "I figured you were...but thanks..." He said and let the moment pass since she was uncomfortable.
"Yeah, we're the best at that...Umm I don't know was there ever anything your parents didn't want you to do that you wanted to really badly? or even something little that they always told you no to?" He asked
Ella grinned, nodding her head. "Yup, that's the spirit." Not that she really expected Max to get up and moonwalk or anything, though that would have been absolutely brilliant. Seriously.
Nod. "Really...and yeah, he is." Grin. So Max approved? This was good, very good. Not that Ella needed anyone's approval, it's just that she looked up to Max and didn't want him to like...hate Harvey or anything. The third year blushed a little when the older Claw went on to say that if Harvey hurt her, he'd be having a word with him. "Thanks Max but I um...well I hope that you don't have to do that." Because if Harvey ever did break her heart, the guy was going to have a heck of a time getting away with it, especially while Edric and Max were in Ella's life.
"Yesitwill!" BEAM. Could Max tell that Ella was excited about Quidditch? Maybe even a little too excited, if that was even possible. It's just that next to ice cream, Quidditch was Ella's favorite thing ever. EVER. The small badger rolled her eyes at the boy's next comment, a small smile on her face. "Maxxxxx!" Groan. "I'd never do that...on purpose." Heh. But seriously, she would never want to hurt Max. That would be awful. Like going an entire day without gummy worms awful. MEEP.
Wow! Ellie was like...a real-life Quidditch star now! BEAM. That was quite exciting! "Have you gone to see her play? Does she like it? Does she get along with her teammates?" SO MANY QUESTIONS. Ella was curious, though. "...IhopeIcanbethatgoodsomeday." She added quietly, as an afterthought. Seriously. Because playing professional Quidditch would be the absolute best.
Ella just kind of grinned at Max as he seemed to avoid eye contact with her. HEHEHE. He TOTALLY did like Emmaleigh! That was brilliant! AND she was a Hufflepuff, which Ella saw as a bonus of sorts. Now Ells would have to meet this girl and do a bit of digging, make sure she was good enough for Max. Though if she was a puff, she was probably super awesome! Yeah...yeah, she must be!
Blink.Blink. Did Max just put himself down? Ohhhhh no. Not on Ella's watch! The third year stood up, looking a bit irritated. She clasped her hands in front of her and began pacing back and forth in front of Max, wondering how to say what she knew she needed to say right now. Homeboy was in need of a serious pep talk.
"Max...-imus..." EEP! Ella had never used his full name before. That was...different. But it sounded serious, yeah? That was what she wanted. "Don't put yourself down like that, okay?" Cause he was MAX THE GREAT! He was awesome! "Of course Emmaleigh would like you! You're brilliant...and really nice...and smart! Really smart!" He was a Ravenclaw, after all. "Plus you always know what to say to encourage people and erm...lots of people look up to you, I'm sure." Because Ella did, look up to him. "And she'd be completely daft not to see how wonderful you are!" And with that she stopped pacing and stood in front of the older boy, hands on her hips.
"And now you get a hug." And a smile, cause he deserved one of those too.
Ella was sweet, wasn't she? Max was glad she had let one of the nicer, wiser boys into her life rather than some of those... hooligans he saw running around the grounds every day. No, Harvey should be good for her. But that didn't mean Max wasn't going to worry about Ella. Even the kindest of boys could surely break hearts. "I hope I don't either - but I will if I have to. No one can hurt you on my watch, okay?" He smiled softly, suddenly wondering why he never had the opportunity to be a big brother.
He would've been a good one.
Boy, she sure was excited about Quidditch, wasn't she? She was like a... bubbly, extroverted version of Ellie. Her enthusiasm was contagious; a matching smile on Max's face followed Ella's, and he laughed, shrugging innocently. "Hey, it had to be said - for all I know, you might have secret intentions to come after me and allow your chasers to have some chance at scoring," he teased, gently nudging her side with his elbow.
And then she had a surge of questions, and Max raised his eyebrows, trying to remember them all at once. "Well, no - not quite. I've been here, y'know," he chuckled. "I can't exactly sneak off to go see her. But I'm not too worried about it - once I graduate, I anticipate going to see her then. And yeah, she's in love with it. I think she said practices are... eight hours long? Every day? And while I think that's unbearable, she couldn't be happier. I think she would've wanted practices to be that long here, if Professor Vindictus had allowed it."
He adjusted his position, leaning back and resting his palms behind him on the seat of the bench. "I'm not sure about her teammates - I haven't asked about that, but... I assume, since she seems absolutely psyched about everything, that they're good, too." His face softened at Ella's final comment on the matter. "I'm sure you can be. Perseverance, a love of the game, and a good attitude can get you there. You seem to have all those traits already, so... just keep the goal in sight." That was one of Max's more lame inspirational speeches, but... it would suffice for the time being. Ella was still young; she had a long way to go. She didn't need to worry about not reaching her big dreams just yet.
With his eyebrows raised once more, Max watched with interest as Ella seemed to have a weird, silent combination of a breakdown and a tantrum. When she spoke, his eyes lowered to the ground. He was caught between feeling extremely embarrassed and ashamed with himself and wanting to chuckle at little Ella's kind pep talk. He settled on sort of a half-embarrassed, half-smiling expression, and he refused to make eye contact even after she was finished. The fact of the matter was that Ella was very sweet and Max knew he was fairly well-liked by all, but... by a girl? In the romantic sense of the word 'like'? That was unheard of. He was ALWAYS the good, reliable best friend/big brother figure. Girls weren't interested in him that way.
So while Ella's words were very nice and he appreciated them, they kind of... went in one ear and out the other, though they did make his cheeks and ears turn red. "Thanks, Ella. That means a lot." Of course he wasn't going to express his doubts on the matter. Max wasn't going to bring Ella down with him. She didn't need that.
When she offered a hug, he smiled, finally looking up at her. He rose to his feet, pulled Ella to him, and gave her a nice, tight embrace. "Thank you," he said again. What a good kid.
Maxwell smirked and nodded. "I figured you were...but thanks..." He said and let the moment pass since she was uncomfortable.

Hmm...good question! She sighed.."There's lots of things. I can't even think of something, though. Well, one stupid rule my father has is that while he's in the living room, we can't be." Something about business..and such. "And when he has guests over we can't speak unless directly spoken to..." something about being 'polite.' But it didn't sound polite. It just sounded like the ancient times when women were treated horribly!

Ella BEAMED up at Max, feeling her cheeks go a bit pinkish after hearing his words. It was quite nice, knowing people were looking out for you. It made the third year feel a little more at home, safer even. "Thanks, Max. Really... And I'd do the same for you, y'know." Ella might be little for her age but she'd totally go all Ellasaurus Rex on anyone who ever hurt Max. That was a promise. No, a pinky promise.
O___O Secret intentions!? Ella feigned annoyance for all of...two seconds before smiling mischievously at the older Claw. "Maybe..." Shifty. "You'll just have to wait and see, won't you?" And his nudge caused Ella to giggle before she nudged him back.
Duh! Of course Max hadn't been to a match yet! Ella could be really daft sometimes. She smiled sheepishly at him, shrugging her shoulders. Whoops. "EIGHT HOURS?!" Ella blurted out, interrupting Max. "Sorry...I just, that's...wicked!" And probably really exhausting but still! "Oh erm...continue." Pretty please!
So everything seemed pretty awesome with Ellie, that was good. Not that Ells really knew her well or anything, but she did admire the older girl. She was someone else to look up to, even if they hadn't had a friendship or anything. Oh! And Max's speech? It made Ella grin at him. Seriously, he totally knew how to make her feel like her dreams weren't too big. "Thanks Max, you're quite smart." And an awesome friend. He knew this, yeah?
The small blonde waited for some type of reaction from Max and smiled warmly when she noticed the red creeping up on his face and ears. Heh. So he blushed too, eh? She wasn't alone! "You're welcome, Max." BEAM. "And you're a great person so...well great people deserve to hear that they're great once in a while...y'know, in case they forget it or something."And maybe Ella wasn't as good with her words as Max was, but she'd sincerely meant what she said.
EEP! Max was seriously a great hugger. Ella kind of smiled to herself, squeezing him back. "Welcome, Max the Great!"
Maxwell thought. "That could work...or it or it couldn't...Maybe you could visit the muggle world or something like that, just something unexpected..." He said with a shrug. "It has to catch him off guard...make him think.." He said knowing a good rebellion wasn't just about misbehaving but changing the way things were done.

Hmm...Elliot narrowed her eyebrows..."I don't know..I don't really want to be around muggles. yet." Not all the time, though. "Hey...he hates when we don't call him sir...or say yes....that would be something little that irks him..." it was the most Elliot could think of...without making him too mad.

Maxwell shrugged. "They're not that bad, and it would only be for like a day trip...but it's cool if you're not ready yet then you're not ready."
Maxwell listened to what she had to say. He nodded "That's perfect, while undermining his authority you'll be showing him you're not a little girl anymore. Bothering him and making him think." He said thinking she could be quite the rebel.

Hmm..."I'd like to go. I like to travel..." she said with a shrug. She took another sip of her now cooling tea. She could deal with it cold. But it waaaas cold out here, it was!
This made her smirk. "THis sounds great. I can't...wait to try it out. I hope he doesn't get too angry at me..." like he had that one time. Just thinking about it made her want to grimace. Meh. "My mother is likely to take my father's side....she always does..." and it irked her sooo much, too, because Darius defintely did NOT always take her mother's side.
She scooted a little closer to him...she was cold!

"Sounds like fun and either way I'll be by your side...and should he get too mad you could always run off with me for a bit.." He said and smiled at her scooting closer. He put an arm around her. "Cold, Ell?" He asked

Elliot nodded. "I just don't think my parents would let us go by ourselves. Father would probably hire someone JUST to accompany us..." Sigh. HEr father...was a mad man. And she talkd about him too much. muuuuch too much.
She nodded again.."I AM cold..." she glanced at her watch...EH! "Maax....we should go. It's getting late and cold...and stuff. " She sighed. She didn't want to leave, exactly. But maybe Presley would be in the common room...then she could tell her all about Maxwell...a little more in depth...

Lily trudged through the snow with her hands in her mittens, stuffed in the pockets of her winter robes. She was shivering as she made her way back up to the castle after walking around on the grounds for a couple hours. It was saturday so she didn't have any classes, so there was no classes to escape to so that she could avoid one person whom she had been trying to avoid for the past day or so. She had gone down to the grounds because she figured that it was the best place to hide from this person for a while. The only problem was that it was cold so she couldn't stay outside for that long.
So the redhead was headed back up to the castle so that she could warm up a bit, and possibly take her wrist brace off for a while since it had been bugging her. Lily trudged through the inches of snow on the ground as she reached the courtyard. Instead of trudging through the center of the yard, the third year walked through the bit of covered walkway along the side of the courtyard. Only now did she look up occasionally to watch where she was walking, even to just look for Phoenix, her owl, whom she expected to show up at some point in the day.

Taylor was upset and trying to avoid someone as well. She spotted Lily and tackled her friend to the snow. "Hey!" Tay grinned despite being cold with snow now and being extremely upset before. Taylor hadnt seen Lily since the day in Hogsmeade. "I missed you, Lily!" She laughed and sat up, looking at her friend. Tay noticed that she seemed upset, "Awwwww what is wrong, Lily?" Taylor pouted, worried about her friend and forgetting at the moment why she was upset.

Lily just kept trudging along through the small amount of snow when BOOM!! she was tackled and fell to the ground, landing on her bad wrist. "Oooouucch!" the redhead cried out, rolling to the side and grabbing at her right wrist with her left hand. She lay on the ground, looking around just in time to see Taylor sitting next to her and asking what was wrong. "mmm-my wrist...hurts..." She mumbled out between small sobs. Sure... that wasn't why she was upset earlier. That was more that she was cold and had to go warm up without being seen by one person whom she had been trying to avoid.
The third year sat up, still clutching her wrist, some tears still falling down her face. She didn't care who tackled her at this point... because it didn't really matter... the intention wasn't to harm... Lily sniffled a little before gently feeling her wrist to make sure it wasn't broken. Sorry Taylor... but it may be a second of so before Lily says anything to you...

Tay's eyes grew, "I am sooooooo sorry! I didnt mean to hurt you, Lily." She glanced at her younger friend, "Do you need to go to the healer?" Taylor was worried and was feeling bad for hurting her. Tay started to think of ways to try to make it up to her friend. Tay stood up and shook off the snow then held her hand out, "Want help up?"

Lily sat there, holding her wrist, looking at Tay... who was apologizing even though the third year knew that it was an accident. "tis 'kay...." The redhead said sniffling a little bit. The good thing was that Lily had remembered to wear her wrist brace, otherwise the wrist probably would have been more injured. When the healer was mentioned, the third year sat bolt upright. "No.... no healer. I don't need the healer....anyone but the healer..."
The claw had had a bad experience in the hospital wing and did not want to return there for something as simple as a hurt wrist...even though she had no idea how damaged her wrist actually was. Carefully, the third year cradled her injured wrist and took Tay's hand for help up.

After standing, Lily let Taylor hug her, though she continued to just hold her injured wrist. It was still really painful and probably swollen, but the third year just didn't want to look at it. When her claw friend smiled and seemed to be happy, the redhead just tried to smile. She was glad that her friend was back to normal... but other things were making it hard to be happy.
"Can we go inside the castle?" Lily asked starting to shiver even more now that she was wet from the snow. It didn't help that she had hurt herself and was now at risk for shock. But the third year tried to shrug off any bad thoughts since she was with one of her best friends again, though it hurt deep down inside to know that she was trying to avoid one of her other best friends.
After standing, Lily let Taylor hug her, though she continued to just hold her injured wrist. It was still really painful and probably swollen, but the third year just didn't want to look at it. "Yeah, sure." She nodded, "Do you need any help walking?" Taylor laughed and smiled at her. Tay missed her best friend and it showed. "Oh, do you know Damon Mercada?" The guy I dated and who is kinda of my cousin?

Lily started heading towards the castle, not going super fast so that Taylor could keep up. "No... I can walk fine... it's my wrist that hurts." She replied again trying to smile. Deep down inside she knew that this time her wrist was more injured than it had been before and she knew that she would either have to see the person who she was trying to avoid, or go to the hospital wing...but she decided not to tell Taylor, since she didn't really want to do either.
"I think I've seen him in classes before." Lily replied, turning her head to look at her friend. "Why do you ask?"

Tay nodded, "Okay." She grimaced, "I was just wondering..." Taylor sighed, wanting to tell her everything but didnt think Lily would want to listen to her go on and on about how much Damon is a jerkface. Tay half walked half dragged her feet, going to the castle for warmth.

Minerva walked through the courtyard. She had waited until most people were gone from the stands before she left. She didn't want to run into anyone who might have something to say about her embarrassing moment and she knew two people were probably not happy by her calling Turner a pig, but she was only speaking some truth. No she didn't know him well, but she had seen enough.
Minerva looked around.. who was she looking for, Ethan? No he would never be out here still in the cold. She pulled her black coat around her tighter and her hat over her ears better. Looking around she found a seat and just sat there not sure what else to do. She was excited for the puff win today, and she loved announcing it was great, but why did she feel so dumb.
